Jericho rolled his eyes and dragged his hand down his face, smiling at her ruefully "Don't go twisting my words, Tanda." He said "You know I like you a great deal...you'll be missed." he said earnestly "Who will I have to tease me when I've moved?" he asked laughingly, acknowledging that she was doing just that to him.
"As for my craft...Ghenza is landbound, but they have a large river nearby where they do a great deal of fishing, or so I've been told. I may not have a chance to do a lot of ship building,," his wry smile expressed that he was quite certain he wouldn't be able to build more than a few small river boats, if that much once he moved "but everyone in the shipcraft, no matter what their specialization, is taught the basics as apprentices." he pointed out "Net making, fishing techniques, boating on both sea and river...I'll find something to do." he said with a smile.
The smile widened when she said that she would miss him as well "Well, I'm sure your heart won't break over my absence, you'll find someone else to tease in your free time." he remarked, amused, as he picked up a bubbly pie once his plate was cleaned of dinner. They were cool, but still quite good.

"I suppose I could write to you and tease you," she said. "But it seems like an awful lot of trouble. There will probably be loads of girls there who're only to happy to tease a novelty like you."
As she spoke she worked on removing B'shir's Shibra from her shoulder. the little firelizard was distracting her with her twitching tail down the back of her dress. Once she'd gotten the green off her shoulder she was at a momentary loss as to where to put her. Fortunately, Shibra was perfectly fine finding her own place, fluttering to the trunk where Tanda kept most of her clothes and curling up to sleep. There was that solved at least.
She picked at her bubbly pie while listening to Jericho explain that he would actually have something to do. To her, it sounded not much better than being a candidate. He would be doing an apprentice's work, it seemed, and that sounded like it would be just as frustrating as what he was doing here. But it worked better for her, actually, that he was leaving. It sped things up for her. She stopped even picking at her food after he started on his bubbly pie.
"I'll be plenty heartbroken if you forget all about me. After dinner you'll have to let me give you something to remember me by." There. That was about as blunt as she could be, combined with the hint of smolder she'd put into that.

Jericho was laughing when she said there would be plenty of girls to tease him, but it was cut short when she decided to come out and be blunt about just what she wanted, making him choke on a bit of bubbly pie. Taking a drink of his wine, he managed to clear his throat.
When he was able to speak again, he said slowly and thoughtfully "Tanda, we've always been...straight forward with each other..." he paused, flushing slightly, mulling over just how straight forward he should be with her. What if he was wrong and she just wanted to give him a trinket of some kind. Looking at her again, though, dressed up in her low cut, flattering dress with her hair done, firelizard now conspicuously missing....he rather began to doubt that was the case.
"Was this whole thing orchestrated to get me in bed?" he asked, waving a hand at the dinner she had prepped and the scene all together. He wasn't entirely sure how he felt about that at the moment. Flattered that she would go through all the effort just to get him into her bed, or annoyed that she just wanted him for that.

Tanda watched Jericho carefully while he laughed, and then more carefully when he began to speak. She was gambling on the fact that he was an adolescent male and unlikely to turn down an opportunity to have sex. But the fact that she'd befriended him could turn out to work against her. He might get some idiotic idea that it would change things between them for the worse. Well, things were definitely going to change, but not because of her. Things would change because he was leaving the Weyr.
"If I say yes, will you say no?" Tanda asked, tilting her head to one side and grinning.
"Because I was just thinking, since you'll be leaving soon, I might...move things along a little. This was where I thought our relationship was going to end up eventually." She didn't look away or blush. About some things were easy for Tanda to talk about, and if Jericho wanted her to be straightforward with him, she would be.
"This is where I wanted us to be, you know."

Jericho thought over her words for a moment, considering her levelly with his bright blue eyes. It was a long moment before he raised an eyebrow and said "Friends with benefits?" He rather got the feeling that she wasn't looking for a romantic relationship. Especially if she was wanting to sleep with him right before he left. After all, he might never return to High Reaches.
The man mulled things over for a minute before finally deciding that it certainly couldn't hurt. Tanda knew he probably wouldn't be coming back, she was a sharp woman who knew what she wanted. Who was he to deny her on his last night here? After all, he was weyrfolk now, and this sort of thing never seemed to bother them, so it shouldn't bother him. He wasn't in a hold anymore.
"Well, if that's the case, then I suppose I can hardly refuse." he said with a slow smile

Tanda's eyebrows rose. He'd been in the Weyr long enough to pick up on some of their expressions, apparently. She was almost positive that friends with benefits was not a holder term or concept. From her understanding of holders and crafters, they tended to frown on promiscuity and extramarital sex. Of course, they also had marriages more regularly, unlike weyrfolk, who tended to simply shift living accommodations when they decided they wanted to spend their lives together.
"Something like that," she agreed. Actually, it was exactly like that, but the low likelihood of a repeat performance made her a little unclear whether that label really applied to them. But it was close enough. They were friends, and they were apparently going to be having casual sex. That was more or less the definition of friends with benefits.
"But, really, I don't want you to feel that you have to do this." Lies. Tanda really didn't care why he agreed, as long as he agreed. But this would be a lot more pleasurable for both of them if he was agreeing because it was something he wanted to do for himself as well as for her.
"Just the same, that's the answer I was hoping to hear." She answered his smile with one of her own. So close!

He considered her for a long moment, one thick eyebrow raised as the candlight flickered in his ocean blue eyes. Did he feel like he had to do this? She obviously wanted him for whatever reason, that was her own agenda after all, and he wouldn't want to disappoint a friend...as bizarre as that sounded considering the topic. She said she didn't want to force him, but he had a feeling that her mind was quite set on it. And hell, why not get laid on his last night here?
Apparently that made up his mind because he suddenly smiled at Tanda. Not his usual friendly sort of smile, but something darker, more sensual. It was a smile that didn't often come to the surface. reaching out he gently pushed the table out of the way and held out one of his large, calloused hands to her, watching her with his blue eyes.
"Well then, I think the answer should be obvious." he said in a low tone as he beckoned to her/

Tanda shifted carefully so that she wouldn't do anything to break the chair she was sitting on or cause it to tip her off when Jericho pushed the table aside. That was a good enough answer for her. She couldn't believe he'd even had to consider it, really. She was offering no-strings sex. Who said no to that? Probably just to torment her. Wretched boy.
"Good choice," she purred to him.
Wretched or not, she put her hand into his and curled her fingers around his before drawing his hand to her mouth and kissing his knuckles softly. She wanted to say something like, "You won't regret this," or, "Thank you," but she said neither. There was a point where words really became unnecessary, and she felt they had reached it, or were about to.
And then she was kissing him deeply and her blood was pounding in her ears. Her eyes were closed and she was simply enjoying herself now. This was absolutely what she had been made for. Sex and babies. No one's body could possibly take so much pleasure from the act of having sex and all its related activities and not have been designed with that purpose in mind.
Bodies. Hm. He had too much clothing on. So, for that matter, did she. She'd been enjoying tangling her fingers in his curling hair, springy like the curls she so envied on her brother, but she slid her hands down his torso to the hem of his top and then under it, touching his bare flesh. This was good, she thought as she sighed happily.
