Blocking two of the blows, and narrowly dodging the third Drejan remarks "So your trained in the art of shadows, who sent you assassin?" Jumping back away from Muse's blades relieing on the reach of her own, she calls on her dragons to help her one appearing behind muse the other guarding drejan slightly behind her. Then lashes out again in an attempt to take her foe's head, as Shade attempts to claw and bite her from behind.

The wind rushes from Drejans lungs as she gets knocked back away from her defensive postion, still tired from the march, she seems barely able to keep her balance.

Spotting the younger woman out of the corner of her eye, Muse gets an idea, shadow jumping behind Drejen her swords at her throat in such a way as to draw a trickle of blood from both sides. Seeing some of the troops starting to gather from the fighting, she yells to the younger woman, "call off your men this is of no concern to them nor to you." A wicked gleam in her eyes, as she says it.

The light in the area suddenly seems to fade for a moment, and Muse's shadow flickers. A figure seems to glide effortlessly from the darkness, remaining behind her. His blade is still sheathed, but a cold aura seems to surround them. If Drejan saw him, she would instantly recognize Tathdorl, an ally. However, he seems to be... different from when last they met. He leans close to Muse, and whispers softly in her ear.
"The Masked God has a message for this woman. He would be sorely disappointed if she were to perish before it was delivered."
His voice was cool and even, but behind it was a barely concealed threat; Tathdorl bore the Mask of Vhaeraun, and all that it implied. Careful consideration of the next move would be imperative...

Muse thinks carefuly before responding with "I wish no trouble with the masked lord, his people happen to pay quite well, however I did best her in combat and could easily kill her and claim her gear. By rights if I may, I would like to claim a weapon of hers, as a payment so to speak, for sparing her life, a token saying I bested her. Her dagger is all i ask. The only other thing I ask is being permitted to leave this damnable encampment with no hassle or harm." Releasing her grip on Drejan shoving her forward and sidestepping away from her current location to put the newcomer, and Drejan in her line of sight.

Stumbling forward Drejan spins on her heal sheaths one of her greatswords, and pulls her wraithblade dagger tossing it at the feat of Muse. "For sparing my life I suppose that dagger is the least of my worries, leave if you will but consider this, I have very little doubt you will be tracking my army, your skill is impressive join us, it may be worth it to you." Drejan finishes rather dismissivly. Her eyes fianaly land on Tath a bit of shock flashing through them, she nods in aknowledgement of him unable to find words at the moment.

Tath nodded sagely and stepped back to allow the pair room to move. At Muse's words, he smirked fleetingly.
"A sound decision, and one that I shall honor. My only concern is the delivery of this message, not matters on honor or safe passage. That you shall have to take up with your captive."
He listens to Drejan's words, then glances to the other woman, a look of amusement on his face. It seemed that he had come at an ideal time; he would've been sorely disappointed to miss the show. However, the woman's allegiance was not his decision, nor his concern: those that wished to join the path found their way there on their own, not by guidance. He merely blended into the background, awaiting the assassin's departure.

Kicking the dager up from the ground Muse snatches it twirls it and puts it in her belt, and starts to leave. Pausing only to yell back, "I'll consider it matron, I must warn you however there are worse things in these woods than I that might tale you. No worries for now your a potential client, and I dont like harm befalling potential clients." then slipping into the tree line she vanishes, but not far, keeping the army in her sight.

Calling upon her druidic magic to heal her still bleeding wounds, Drejan then addresses Tath, " Your arrival hear is rather unexpected, to what I wonder do I merit the honor of this unexpected visit. I am houseless and exiled, what you see is all I have and I expect moral isnt the greatest in the known realm. I will offer what I can but I dont think its overly much. How might the humble Aleanrae forces be of service?" She finishes with a slight bow respectful of his station all the while keeping her eyes on him.

Tath waved her offers off politely, before granting a faint smirk and speaking softly and slowly.
"It would seem that you are not so exiled as you would believe. The Masked God has sent me to visit you again, for he appears to believe that while you have failed in your task, your faith and strength will yet prove useful."
He shifted in place slightly, and his hand emerged from his pocket. A small, crystalline key lay in his palm, and he extended it to the Matron.
"This will guide you to a place of rest. I shall lead your house out of the blinding light and into the welcoming shadows; if you will give your men the order to march quickly, we may yet make it before daybreak. I believe you will find the accommodations much more agreeable than bare stone and pine needles. There is enough room for all, and plenty to eat and drink as well."
With a twinkle in his eye and a soft smirk, Tath let out the last bit of detail.
"Perhaps, if we are lucky, we may even be receiving a most honored guest."
(Be careful that you don't allow your imagination to overtake your character. Vhaeraun didn't grant you any power over planar energy.. Shadowstuff or negative energy). -Vala

Drejan responds with a bit of a smile on her face as she grasps the key, responding with, "This is welcome news indeed, I assure you my forces will be on the move shortly."
Feeling invigorated and back to her old self she spins on her heal, and snaps an order to her nearest commanders, "Wake the troops and prep them for a briefing I want them in ranks in fifteen minuets, and find out if that assassin killed our men if she did i want them raised move!!!"
Going to her tent to prepare herself, she emerges later cleaned up and in the crimson of her elite guard. She then approaches her amassed troops calling them to attention she starts her briefing.
"Soldiers, drow of the Aleanrae forces, you are the best the surface and the underdark has to offer, it was you who made a city fall to its knees, it was you whom survived the battle whole in number, it is you whom I am proud to serve with and to have stand by my side. Your loyalty and trust in me, and your faith in our Masked Lord have pulled us through these dark times. Our exploits in the city may have failed, but as surely as you stand here they have not gone unnoticed. The Masked Lord is indeed with us, and I must ask you once again to stand by my side as always, and march this night to a new home, with food, drink, and warm beds for all. Then when we are well rested, in time we will gain more glory than you ever dreamed of. Now bear your banners high and lift your spirits for the greater glory of the Masked Lord. Make ready to march."
The troops moral boosted, amidst cries of glory to the Masked Lord and long live the matron, Drejan turns to address Tath once again, "My troops are ready to move when you are, feel free to address them if you wish. I will give the order to march when you are ready."

((@Vala: I understand; the energy wasn't from Tath, just the key. It was nothing eldritch or magical; purely cosmetic. Thanks for the warning and the fix though, and I'll be more careful in the future.))
Tathdorl nodded, and watched, arms crossed, as the troops assembled and made ready to move. He listened to her inspiring words, and noted well the effects they had upon her troops; religious vigor was enough to hasten the steps of any who believed. When the group was at last ready, and the camp broken fully, Tathdorl turned in place, and silently marched off into the forest. He made no effort to hide, so the troops would have no trouble following him as he led them deeper and deeper into the forest. At last, they came upon the ruined tower of an ancient keep, and Tathdorl ordered the troops to a halt. He beckoned to Drejan to approach.
"Follow that key; it will guide you down through the catacombs and into the Ebon Fortress. I can guide you no further; this is your defining moment. Do not fail or lose heart: you are close indeed. Go forth now, House Aleanrae, and find your safe haven."
With that, Tathdorl stepped into the ruins and was gone, leaving no trace.

A short time after the clearing had been deserted, a snuffling could be heard as a huge form shouldered its way through the trees. It reached the centre and rearer onto its hind legs as it caught a scent.
The great beast stood at near twice the height of a drow, a massive bear-like form with the head of an owl. Its eyes shone with madness and anger, and two great antlers stood atop its feathered head. A beak chattered in anger before it reared back and let out a great hooting roar of anger, falling back to all fours to follow the trail into the catacombs at speed.
