Her question was startling to the little brown mare. It was vary deep, really. And something she hadn't thought of. She went still, looking at the ground bellow her, thinking of all those she had met and known. What did she think? She always tried to stay up beat and happy, she never got angry, but what did she think of society... A breeze tugged at her mane and she smiled softly to herself. Lifting her head she nodded to the mare across from her. She had seen many diffrent members of this large world, and seen many sides of horse kind. She knew her answer.
"Yes." she said at last, her voice soft. "Yes, I think that everyone is good in their intentions. Everyone tries to do what is right by them or their beliefs. So calling one evil, or bad, isn't possible. They are just a diffrent kind of good. Sure, it is sad, frustrating, horrifying, to someone who sees a a diffrent kind of good, but they are always good in their intentions. There are bad in this world only because someone said that a certain way of thinking is bad. Not because there really is. Without the so called bad and good horses there would be no way for this world to function. So... yes, over all, as a whole, every mustang is good. Its just finding the same good as you that is the tricky part." Ashia finished. She thought back on her answer. Hopefully it made sense...
"Oh, two years? Well that is a good length of time. You must be vary strong." Ashia giggled. She didn't know how long she had been without her mentor... She didn't want to think about that right now though. Sad thoughts could prickle her mind later. For now, she needed to stay cheery.

The mare's ears pricked as soon as Ashia began to explain her opinion on the matter, although Spook remained chewing on the variety of leafy greens that had been placed in front of her for the most part. She needed to think, and even more so than usual she had to focus her attention on what was being said. It was difficult, to say the least. Some of her light headedness had indeed gone away, but for the most part things were still hazy to the chocolate mare. It was obvious that she was having to concentrate, for her brow furrowed and her facial features tensed as she listened. Hopefully Ashia wouldn't take it as a change in moods or that she was being extremely disagreable, but it couldn't be helped if she mistook it. Spook would simply have to explain that- no, wait. That would be somewhat embarassing wouldn't it? Having to explain that her head wasn't clear, or that her vision was blurry, all too much personal information. Like her head though, her vision was begining to focus, albeit slowly, so Spook wasn't too alarmed by those facts. ... Just so long as they weren't attacked right now, that is.
Swallowing the last bit of greenery, the mare bobbed her head respectfully to Ashia's opinion, and allowed for the words and their meanings to sink in. "For the most part I'd say that I can agree to that opinion, but some recent, very recent, events have managed to shift my own views slightly", she went on, casually and allowing none of her anger or hatred to slip into her tone. She didn't want Ashia misguiding those sorts of emotions to herself, especially since Spook rather liked her. "Personally I believe that's a there's a line to be crossed, although one's own believes play a big role in what is 'good' so I can agree to your logic at that, but-", she paused to clear her throat, the dried scratchiness getting to her again. "When another mustang does something to deliberatly harm another through betrayal, I can see them as being 'bad'." She left it at that, but she wished to hear Ashia's opinion on it. Spook didn't exactly get it herself, so talking about might help to clear her mind a bit.
A little off-handed and certainly out of order for the serious conversation, the mare gave another quick, pleased laugh. "Yes, I like to think so. Of course I'm no where near as strong as some of the larger brutes, but I can certainly hold my own." Her attitude also helped, but she'd keep that tidbit to herself.

"Oh my goodness, I am so sorry, did I speak to fast? You must still be so tired, I shouldn't have spoken so fast. I apologize." Ashia said quickly. She scolded herself for being so inconsiderate. She listened with special attention, nodding her head to show she was listening. She could see Spook's view, and wondered if this had something to do with the mare's current state. However she didn't want to ask and seem rude. It didn't matter, really.
"I see, well, you do make a vary good point, Spook." She spoke slower this time. "But your still thinking of good and bad. And you don't know why someone does something. I could say I helped you because I wanted to make sure you were ok, but you don't know if that is true or not. I could just help because I want self satisfaction, or to get something from you. It might seem as if one is just trying to hurt you or betray you, but you don't know what is really going in their head. So how can they be bad if you do not know? The only one you can label as bad would be yourself, because you are the only one that you know for sure." She nodded. Ashia hoped she spoke simply enough as not to bother the mare any further.

The couldn't but crack a small smile, shaking her head at Ashia. "Don't worry about it," she replied, but it would be better if the words didn't come at her so quickly. To say the least, tiredness and weariness were certainly weighing heavily on her, but the conversation was doing its job of keeping her up and awake. With bob of her head the mare continued to listen to Ashia, assesing the points she made and rolling them around in her own head. She really couldn't bring herself to disagree, but it seemed like her whole being wanted to hate Desmona for what she did, and wanted to believe she was an evil individual. Perhaps that wasn't the case? A horse didn't have to be evil themselves to commit an evil act, she supposed. "Yeah, I can see it that way, she paused and gave a hefty flare of her nostrils- significant of a very loud sigh. "Its just easier to hate someone if you believe their evil, I guess." That made sense. And boy was she hating Desmona and Enzi right now. Not that she needed to make a case of that. Quickly the chocolate mare forced a laugh, as if to allow the subject to roll right over her, and motioned towards the bag on the ground that had carried all of Ashia's 'goodies'. I've never seen one of those before, where'd you get it?"

The brown mare went to make a comment about the hate comment Spook had made. However when the other mare asked about the bag, the little Ashia was thrown off, or rather, just distracted. "Oh really? I'm not sure, actually. It was given to me by the mares who own the safe haven I take the foals I rescue to. I look for foals who are in need and help save them, you see, that's why I have all these things, from my bag, to blanket, and even this feather!" she nodded to make the large red feather bob and sway. "All these things, besides the herbs I find myself, were given to me to be used to help save the foals. I believe they were given to the haven by those strange two legged creatures, if you have seen them." Ashia smiled at the ability to talk about her work. She loved to explain what she did to others, and her special little accessories. They all held such meaning and each had a special job that she could go on and on about them! However she was certain that would be boring so she refrained from saying anything else, letting Spook ask what she wanted to know before she explained.

Interesting. It seemed Ashia went around rescuing anyone she could- did she already say that before? Huh, Spook rightfully couldn't remember if the smaller mare had mentioned it before or not, but she wasn't too worried about it. Anyway, as she changed the subject in her mind, the chocolate mare found herself becoming much more curious about Ashia. And like always, Spook almost always acted on her curiousity. It was just the mustang's demeanor you see, she cared not for manners and pleasantries, and much prefered to speak her mind. "That's sweet of you, to go around rescueing foals and what not", Spook began, blinking a few hard times as her vision began to clear up a bit. "Oh I've seen the two-leggers, usally avoid them when I can, but I'm curious about this safe haven. What's it like?" She had a few ideas, but it wasn't always good to make assumptions.

Ashia smiled. "Oh yes, I was rescued myself and brought to the haven and as I grew up I kind of grew into the role." The little mare giggled. "its pretty simple. Just a clearing in the forest, protected on all sides. There is a spring near it, and a spring near by. There are some mares that care for the foals. I've not seen many stallions, just the one who saved me, who became my mentor, and the mate of mare who took care of foals." She said, recalling the place she had been away from for such a while now... "Its been some time since I've brought a foal there. There haven't been many lost foals in this land. Of which I am so grateful." Ashia smiled, nodding her head. She felt a small twinge as she thought about her home more but shook it off. Homesickness, it must be. She'd never felt homesickness before, though, first time for everything, right? "I'm sure they must be so worried about me!" She giggled. "So worried indeed."

"Really? That's some stroke of luck", Spook replied, referring to how Ashia herself was rescued as a foal. It made more sense now, as to why the little mare would go off looking for foals in need of help. That was a good thing though, even if Ashia just helped one individual, she was still doing a favor to the plains by saving one of its young lives. Spook honestly believed that what Ashia did was praise worthy, and so she gave the little brown mare a smile and bob of her head in agreement. "Oh they probably are", she chuckled, thinking of her own dam and the herd she had grown up with. It seemed like it had been so long ago, and yet felt like it was just yesterday. "My dam still flusters at me anytime I go to visit her and my old herd, it seems that the older I get the more she wishes for me to settle down and stay within her sights", she snorted in amusement to the thought. Its like her mother was doing the reverse of what she should be doing, like she wanted to treat Spook as a foal even after all this time. "Do you plan on going back anytime soon?" she asked, genuinely curious.

Ashia giggled a little as Spook spoke. "How sweet! She must care lots about you. It makes sense, as you get older your bound to get in more trouble then a little foal." She smiled happily. "And maybe she is worried you'll run off with a handsome stallion." She giggled again at this thought. At the other mare's question Ashia quieted, thinking. Would she go back soon? She was certain the others would be worried, and it would be nice to see them again. See the foals. But would she? "No, I think not." She stated with a nod of her head. "I only go to take foals and if I showed up empty handed they might think badly of me. That I was not doing my job. And that would be a horrible thing, if I stopped doing my job. So I think I will continue on my way for now." She nodded. Yup, that sounded like a good plan to her. "Oh but what about you? Will you go spend time with your herd soon? Or will you go on your way again to adventures?" Ashia asked curiously. She felt bad hogging all the topics and loved to hear more from the other.

That caused a rather loud laugh to crackle from her scratchy throat, and the flaxen-maned mustang could all but let it go. "Yes, I suppose she would be worried about something like that." Not that Spook ever planned on taking a life mate, which made the comment all the more funny in her opinion. You see, Spook just didn't have it in her to love one single stallion, for she had learned early on that such devotion could only end in some kind of overly depressing heartbreak. And she didn't need that in her life. In fact the mare much prefered her freedom to anything else. Her ears flicked forward as her attention was grabbed by Ashia once more, and Spook found herself bobbing her head once more in understanding. At least it was easier to focus on the conversation now, and she wasn't feeling as tired as she had before. Kinda, anyway. "Oh I see. Well, yes that would be a terrible thing." She didn't think there were many others out there that would be able to take up the slack if Ashia did stop doing her 'job' as she put it. Although that was a bit of a cruel thing to say, she knew it to be true. Alot of mustangs she had met along the way probably wouldn't give two shakes of their tail to a lost foal.
Still, the conversation had allowed her to focus her attentions, and with it clear her mind. Although the mare was still feeling horrendiously weak and fairly tired, she figured now was as good of a time as any to get to her hooves. Might as well give it a shot while she was hyped from the conversation. "Look out", she warned good-naturedly, stretching her forehooves out in front of her with a toss of her head upwards. That in itself seemed to take up more effort than she had wished, but the chocolate mare willed herself further. For all intensive purposes, it was like watching a newborn foal attempt to stand for the first time. Eventually Spook managed to haul herself upward, but she had no idea where she found the strength to do so. It was as if standing had forced every last bit of energy out of her.
Spook took a moment to collect herself, whobbling slightly on shaky knees as her muzzle hung close to the ground between outstretched forelegs. For awhile her sides heaved with the effort of gathering lost breath, but finally the mustang was able to steady herself, and did so with the utmost caution until her head was at least semi level and her stance somewhat normal- though still her body language screamed exhaustion. Spook however, could do nothing but grin in her own dark amusement to the situation. "I'll probably continue on my 'adventures', just as soon as I'm healed up", she wheezed, fully aware that healing up could take weeks if not months.

"Oh do be careful!" Ashia exclaimed as Spook struggled up. She leaped to her feet, moving a bit closer so as to hopfully, in the vary least, soften the mares fall, should her weak body be un-ready for the sudden movement. "Really Spook, that isn't wise, you might loose your head and tumble back down." She said in a motherly tone, shaking her head lightly. However it filled her with great joy to see the mare on her feet once more. And satisfaction. "Perhaps adults and foals are not so diffrent." She giggled to herself. Most foals would get up in a rush, no matter how hurt or weak they were. And she knew some adults who, like Spook, had done the same.
"Careful, Careful. Now now, easy, take deep breaths, fill those lungs up nice and full so your body will be strong. When you breath you get strength from the air, you know." She nodded, her feather bobbing. "Take deep breaths so you don't fall back down. We horses can't fall down when we are grown, it causes many bad things, especially if you are already hurt. So just be easy." She said softly. But as the other mare steadied herself she smiled happily. "That's it, wonderful!" Ashia was encouraging. She giggled a bit at Spook's words. "Such a ready mare. I think you'll be healed in no time."

"You think so?" Spook replied, a bit of lightness added to her tone. She didn't like being weak and tired, especially now that she knew there were things out there that would take advantage of it. Okay, she had known that already, but it had never really crossed her mind before as a serious issue. She'd be much more at ease once her body was back to full health, come what may of its appearance. She had the feeling she'd be getting a few scars here and there, possibly more than she as thinking, but she honestly had no idea what she looked like right now or the abundancy of the injuries she had acquired. "I just don't like being on the ground anymore, makes me feel too vulunerable", she explained with deep breath, trying to catch her up with her body's need for the air she was taking in. It would be best to move out soon, but Spook knew that was probably pushing it. That didn't stop her from thinking about it though. As soon as she was steady enough to stand comfortably she would try to walk, no sooner she told herself.
On the other hoof, her eerie yellow gaze traveled over Ashia and the chocolate mare was surprised to find herself standing at least a good half foot at the shoulder taller than her little rescuer. The very sight made her smile, a bit of a mare'ish giggle making its way past her attempts to breathe and steady herself. "You know, now that I'm not looking at you knee-level, I realize what you were talking about before", Spook spoke, outstretching her muzzle to tap Ashia at the shoulder affectionatly. "You weren't kidding about being on the smaller side." That might have made her feel silly, being rescued by someone so small, but Spook really didn't have an ego when it came to size. In fact, it didn't bother her in the slightest.

"Of course" Ashia nodded her head quickly. "And of course you do, silly. Being on the ground would make anyone feel uneasy. But it is better to be strong on the ground then weak on your feet. I mean, if you were to be attacked on the ground, you still have hooves to kick at. And you can be on your belly so nothing will hit that spot. But on your feet, if you are to weak and get up to early, your so much more vulnerable. Least that is how I have seen it. But it seems danger is gone from the area, and your getting strong fast, so it should be fine." She looked around. Yes, it seemed they were safe enough. Thank goodness. She hoped things would stay on the good side. She hated it when things took a turn for the worst and just fell downhill fast.
At Spook's comments about her height she gave a girlishly playful huff. "Oh now don't you start picking on me, being all taller then me." Ashia giggled. "yes I am smaller. I'm not sure if my whole family was like this, I mean the herd I was from...I have no real memories of them but for when they left into the snow." She shrugged. "Perhaps I was from a herd of midget horses!" She had to laugh at the thought. "Lots of little strong willed horses my size." She smiled. "I do hope I don't end up with little children. Not because I don't like being small, but just because I don't want them to have my bad health. I had such horrible health growing up. And I think maybe being small had something to do with it, you know. So I hope they end up big and wonderful!" She giggled, smiling. "I hope."

Spook inhaled sharply in an attempt to kickstart her normal breathing, having gotten aggitated with the wheeze that showed up every once in awhile. As the air left her lungs it came out in a short bark like chuckle, much akin to a simple 'heh'. "I don't doubt any of that is true, but to be honest I'd prefer to snap at whatever might be headed my way rather than flailing a kick on the ground. That's just me though", she ended a bit amusedly. Of course hooves were great assets in a battle, that she knew with experiance, but the mare did prefer to a good bite to a kick more often than not. It seemed more personal that way, and in a strange sense that she didn't care to explain, that's how she prefered to fight. Personal preference if you will. As for Ashia's other observation Spook couldn't help but slowly crane her head around to view the area around them for herself. "That's good, I haven't seen hide nor hair of the mongrels since, but I keep getting the feeling that they're just waiting for me to slip up one final time," she responded, giving a slight shrug of her shoulder. It was difficult to explain, and perhaps she was just being paranoid, but the sooner she moved from the area and this particular spot the better.
The flaxen-maned mare returned her attention to Ashia and couldn't help a lopsided grin. "I knew it, the wilderness will soon be taken over by midget horses!" The thought made her want to giggle out loud, and she likely would have if her body wouldn't throw a fit at her for doing so. It did make her curious though, she had seen some rather large horses in her life-time, and some fairly short ones as well, but Ashia was definately among some of the smallest she had ever seen. Perhaps the other mare was right, maybe her bad health had made her this way, but just the mere thought of a herd of tiny horses roaming about was just too amusing not to consider as a serious option. "Whatever the reason, I hope your children- any you might have in the future- are blessed with better health, be they big or small."

Ashia smiled brightly. "Thank you so much." She nodded her head in appreciation of the mare's words. While she hadn't known the mare long, the well wishes made her happy inside, as she was usually the one giving them, not reciving. Oh she had lots of thank yous for her work but no one ever really asked about her personal life and commented on it. Then again she didn't often comment on her personal life. She was always so worried about others...
"Lets get you moved out of here." Ashia slipped back into worker mode. "The sooner your able to walk and run the better you'll feel, I'm sure." She smiled. In fact she'd feel better to. Not that she wanted to take off or anything but she did want to know the mare was recovering so that should she need to leave, or should the mare get caught up in something, Ashia knew she'd be alright. "Lets get you walking!" She let out an energetic cheer.
