Yeah there are plenty out there. I mean my personal preference is I like a good story with lots and lots of lovey dovey cute stuff that makes me blush like crazy. I mean I like sex too...but not like sex overload.
Some of my least favorites: 1) Sensitive Pornograph- no story line what-so-ever. It's basically crappy animation filled with lots and lots of uncut sex scenes. 2) Gravitation- It's got it's moments and stuff, but as far the plot line it was way confusing. Often times I found myself going "huh?" at the end of a conversation. It was hard to follow and not a very good plot line in the first place. But it was cute. 3) Papa to Kiss in the Dark- This was plain dumb in my opinion. Some kid gets "raped" on a regular basis by his "papa". Ew.

Plenty of bad ones, but you can normally tell once you've read into it a bit. That's when you back out. Fast.

I can't recall any names but if the art is bad I will stop watching/reading right then.BLacKeMoSAdneSS The rapist thing is like... totally overrated. If somebody rapes you, your mind registers fear whenever you see that person, someone or something that resembles them, or anything that involves sex. It's part of the human mind. Ever heard of stockholm syndrome? I'm sure that can be classified as a form of that... Ignore my asinine ways.

I have read a lot of yaoi titles and there have been many that were just so bad. Most of them I thought where just made for the sake of being insane and sex driven.

lol out of all the manga that i'v read, yaoi seems to have some of the worst, and most confusing trasnlation jobs. i guess it's that whole, "it's hard to sweet-talk in different languages" thing, idk. but it's annyoing. sometimes the words are so screwed up that you lose the story. and i absolute HATE when the artists flub up the bodies (lol especially during the toasty scenes) you a couple kissing with one guy's nose missing and the other guy's arm wrapped around his neck in a way that just defies human anatomy. It's such a cliche for yaoi though, i mean, i've just about gotten used to all the mangled fingers.

This times 100000000. s**t, some artists need to get an anatomy book... I especially hate their rly elongated torsos and the general unhealthy skinniness.

OH YES. Um, Only the Ring Finger Knows had a horrible confusing plot and mediocre art.
And I KNOW that Be Boy Kidnapp'n Idol was made in the 80s, but there is no excuse for that boring nearly plotless story line. -_-

I see Gravitation is generally not a favourite. I kind liked it... but Yuki just pisses me off. It as its moments. But then you realize that Yuki deserves to be stabbed for being a complete and total jerk.
I don't remember Sensitive Pornograph, but I do recall it being plotless.
I don't mind plotless smut but it's not what I call good fiction.
I found Papa to kiss in the dark disturbing... as was Boku no Piko. I am occasionally OK with shota, those two took it about three million light-years too far. But don't mix up Papa to kiss in the dark and KirePapa. they're very different. KirePapa is actually really good.
I have never seen Jazz.
Fanfiction can be good or bad but it's pretty hard to get it in between.
I started to read Only the ring Finger know an just gave up...
@sugar- I adored your slowly neutered with a rusted spoon line, though to be honest there are *some* semi-rape yaois that I enjoy... such as Junjou romantica, which had plenty of the not-so-violent-but-still-counts rape.
@terix- A guy's nose missing? wow. But yeah, I find it a little annoying when the guys look like they's been made out of long, thin sticks. But what are you talking about "cliche for yaoi"? I see it in practically all minor-stream manga.

Sieffre ^ Just curious, what does IKEA-style mean? It's basically smut so badly written that it's like the instructions for putting together furniture from Ikea, that's the joke - i.e., "Tab A goes in Slot A" except with parts of the body instead. It's awful and sometimes hilarious, but still awful. @Sushii: Gah, unnatural skinniness. What it with that? Three quarters of the yaoi I've ever read, at least, has had me just wishing one of the protagonists would eat more, for goodness sake. Especially during steamier scenes. It's quite off-putting and slightly alarming. @ Mr woman: Oh, too true. It was hilariously cheesy and had a convoluted, over-dramatic plot, at least for me. One quarter of it possibly due to the fact that I was reading it in German, and I have even more of a problem taking romantic superdrama seriously in German, mysteriously.
