Hm, I've heard Avatar was great scenery-wise and CGI-wise, but... Story and dialogue? Not so much.
'Sides, I'd just go watch Pocahontas. Same story, no?

Frankly, though, I'm excited for the new Alice in Wonderland movie. Extremely excited, despite its inaccuracies. heart

The dialogue alone is a good reason to see it.
It isn't so much cringe worthy as it is hilariously bad.
Potent combination, jujubes, making the Colonel pretty again, it's all great stuff.
And, of course, there's the delightfully horrible character of Colonel Quaritch.
He and Norm are perhaps the most enjoyable characters, having some of the best so-bad-it's-funny lines.
The lead, however, just has plain bad lines, in addition to his humorously slim legs.
Come to think of it, if Quaritch is an analog to the villain from Pocahontas, I'd really love to see a Gaston analog for the sequel.

I didn't find it to be THAT bad..
I mean yeah, the Colonel was horrible, but I found overall the main character was tolerable. And his legs are thin cuz he hasn't used them in however many years it is!!!

It made me SAD, it didn't strike me as funny.

hmm, i will probably go to see it.

Is any one else exited for Alice in Wonderland? Almost any movie with Johnny Depp is good, right?

Sounds hilarious. Maybe I will see it, then, if only for the bad dialogue. whee
That would be epic. X'D

*-* But the scenery's so pretty. Like... it's GORGEOUS. It's like you're playing video games and the newest coolest cutscene comes up and it look so REAL... and it just keeps going and going and going...

I thought that Jakesooly was one of the weakest characters of the entire thing.
When taking what the characters are supposed to be, perhaps as well one of the least likable.

Yes! I'm a huge fan of the books, so I'm beyond excited. *can't wait for March 5th* whee

I do have some issues with it, though... Like, the Red Queen wasn't evil in the book and she and the Queen of Hearts are NOT the same person. Not to mention, what's up with the White Queen acting wise? She was such a kook in the book. rofl

Therefore, I will assume that the Red Queen somehow lost her mind and became evil, killed the Queen of Hearts, and then took her place. ...Got rid of her chess pieces, stopped playing chess, and... Lost everything that made her the Red Queen. .___.

And the White Queen somehow became wise after seeing her opponent go bonkers, couldn't play chess anymore because she no longer had an opponent, and... Yeah. .______.

Don't get me started on Dormy. *coughDormyissupposedtobeaguynotagirlcough* D;
Maybe they've changed that part of the script, though, as it was the rough version that I read... *hopes*

Other than that and a few other issues, I think I'll love it. biggrin

I've seen movies like that before...? "Beowulf" and "Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within", to name two. XD

Wrong Final Fantasy movie to compare it to.
Advent Children was the far more impressive.
I don't quite know if I'd put Avatar above it, as least insofar as the characters go.
I'd certainly put Avatar's cliffs and rocks above AC's cliffs and rocks, though.

Alice in wonderland? I'm not really looking forward to it. I mean, yes, I love Johnny Depp and Anne Hathaway as much as the next guy, but the move looks plain weird.

Besides the fact that I saw the trailer in 3-d and it was terrifying.

Also, I can't get over the White Queen's eyebrows. I mean wtf, seriously. We all know Anne Hathaway isn't blond.. why couldn't they deal with the eyebrows?

I am so glad there are others that are just as bothered about the mistakes as I am. Yes, they truly are mistakes and I'm sick of them.
I want to write my own Alice story more than ever now! D=
Even so I'm still dying to watch the movie.
