"No I'm not hungry!" She snapped at him. Did it look like she was in the mood to have a snack? Luckily for Subu, he caught on to what was happening before Usiku had to quite literally knock some sense into him. She would have said more, but another contraction hit her and that silenced her quickly. Once it passed she glared at Subu. "Of course it's time!"
She shifted around trying to get comfortable, but it was nearly impossible at this point. "I don't know what you should do. I haven't exactly done this before myself." Usiku closed her eyes again the pain. She kept telling herself it would all be over soon and she could only hope that was true.
A good deal later Usiku lay on the cool dirt floor, panting, completely exhausted but glad that it was all over. Now four small pups lay nearby. Usiku was so glad it was a small litter. She had heard many stories of how some dogs could have huge litters and that would have been horrible to go though. Her eyes moved to Subu, lucky b*****d didn't have to go through was she just had to. "I hope you're happy now." She said in a snarky tone though she was too tired to truly yell at him.

Subu had alternatively gasped in excitement, wavered on the brink of passing out and paced in anxiety as Usiku labored. By the time they were all born he was indeed happy - happy that it was all over! and he let his eyes wander over the pups. They were perfect and resembled their parents a great deal, though the little female stuck out amidst her purple siblings...and in the fact that she was the only female. lowering his head he sniffed at the whimpering crawling pups for a few moments before turning smiling eyes upon Usiku.
Stepping closer to her he licked her muzzle and lay down beside her 'Of course I am happy" He told her warmly "And you will be too - just think soon you will feel good enough to hunt and run and do what you like again" He encouraged her with a slight nuzzle.

Usiku gave Subu a small look but it didn't hold its usual attitude behind it. She was just too tired to truly be mad at him right now. Lifting her head she looked over the pups again, well they didn't look too scary right now, so maybe she could pull off this whole mother things. Making sure the pups were close to her body she laid her head down beside Subu's. "I can't wait." She said half sarcastically. Though she would look forward to the day when she would have her freedom again....for the most part at least. Giving Subu a small nuzzle she closed her eyes to rest again, knowing that sleep would now be a precious thing.
