The ebony feline paused a moment sensing eyes upon it. Whiskers twitched about as it peered over its shoulder, eyes narrowing in concentration. Taking it as nothing, the sleek creature dashes back off through the city.

For once Valdaer was glad to be out on the streets. Free from all the constant noise and chatter of clients. The dirty streets and dark cavern ceilings and walls were perfect for him.

"Hey have you seen a cat around here. I was thinking of capturing it and taken it home to my mistress."

"Yea', I seen it, but no much now. Who mig't be your mistress?"

"Well it only the amazingly fine Ziervyll Oussana. Oh I know she would love to have such a fine pet at grace our halls."

"Madame, I could but help to over hear your plait. I know of a raiding guild that could obtain all sorts of exotic animal types."

"Oh really?"

"Quite, let us take a walk. Its unslightly for those of us from a better class to associated with the common."

A large cat huh? I wish I had gotten out here sooner, He thought and then shrugged. Slipping behind the walking pair and swiping both their money pouches. He could feel magic on one as he disappeared down an alley. A thief confronted him immediately.

"Nik tri'k there, with the purtheth and all. But I think you'll be wanting to pathth them over." Valdaer openly sneered at the man lisps.

"Amusing as it would be to dance I'll simply have to settle for...". He moved like a blurred knocking the thief off his feet and slamming him against the ground a knife to his throat. "This is much more comfortable. Now buddy, you won't happen to know what house your Thief's guild is tied to huh?"

The other man struggled, but to no avail. Panting he said, "We ain't with no House."

Valdaer blinked, sure he had heard wrong. "Really? Cause I was going to join you all if you were. I can bring in a lot of gold."

The other man let his eyes rove around and then tried again to get up. "We'd been thinking, like otherth I know, that maybe the Ouththana might be a good choose. Hlairyn are good, but I heard they're doing weird experimentth on thobes who cheat them. Or them that are thavebs. Mothb want the Ouththana, with them being all into Vhaeraun worship."

Valdaer eased up and then jump back letting the other get up. "That is interesting. Are you all into the Masked Lord?" He sat crotched ready to spring at need.

The other stretch, his eyes wary. "Not much, haven't been having a good bseathon. And the raiderth neither itth hard timebs. Bsome who were figure the dude don't care and habs left ubs. Otherths, they hold out. Only the zealthlist left."

Valdaer throw a the magical purse at the thief, "Something to remind you of the possibility of my joining you all. In the future." And he sprung from his crotch, body at the ready as he stepped further into the shadows.

Reivan The Drow

On a rooftop overlooking the exchange, A deuregar kneeled steadily as his sight was projected back to the guildmaster's scrying dish. Blinking a few times, Negai Coldsteel grumbled to himself before slipping away. He never enjoyed the use of the shared sight spell but he couldn't deny the usefulness of it. through every assassins connection with the guildmaster via the spell, information could be transfered quickly, quietly, and securely.

As he hopped down into an alleyway a few blocks down he made a quick check to make sure he hadn't been followed then slipped into the square, buying a spiced mushroom to eat as he made his way back towards the docks.

As much as he disliked the drow, he had to aknowledge a few, primary among them being the guildmaster himself. Negai liked the style of this one. cold, unmerciful, efficient, and best of all Ironclaw seemed to be the only one able to keep that b***h Mayolin in her place. a slight grin appeared under his greying beard as he took another bite. "Still though, I wonder what 'is angle is..." he mused quietly.

Valthier now returned from his trek through the Colleges district. useless! he thought, growling to himself. not a damned priest to be found, the place was in shambles, and completely unrecognizable.

he returned to the city square, and began scouting about for anything he could to interest him. perhaps there was a salon nearby? i could most certainly use a good bath and facial, perhaps a trim...

his silent musings distracted him enough that he tripped over a Halfling in rags who now spilled her bags. a few groceries and odd ingrediants spilled out, as well as fragile objects of glass; all ruined now. what was left still good was hurriedly picked up, but the Halfling girl began wailing quiet curses, and frantically examining her loss.

"watch your tongue." he said to her, and gave her a paper credit worth about 100 gold coins. it was far from enough to pay for everything she lost, but at least it got her to shut up. and it was something to do. he did love confusing people so much after all.

Val sighed, and continued to wander. he was getting very irritated at having such difficulty tracking down Val'atar.

Valdaer had settled into a crouched by the side of mercenary guild entrance. Glancing around noting the different people mixing and roaming the streets.
Its hard to imagine that these same streets were nearly empty. Though...He turned his gaze towards a rider on his lizard mount. His House emblem glimmering in the light of the faerie fire that brighten the doorways of the different businesses and the mound of earth that held the jobs stand. With all these new powers around these street could be filled with bloody bodies instead.
He sighed and continued to munch on his spiced mushroom.

"I've heard that the thief guilds were looking for more people, not killing them off."

"Yeah well, they're trying to sure up their ends of things."

"Not hall of hem are hat dumb, now. I be hearing 'ady V got space and is 'ooking to grow."

"True. I bet she happy since her competition was just found dead."

There were several gasps and then murmurs over if Lady V had done it and why. Valdaer slumped lower into his crouch as he let his hand near on of his inner pockets. Valdaer had liked pushing the Rendan Keeshe away from the higher ups. It had been fun to kill off the leaders, but the words of one leader still hunted him.

"I know who you work for, shadow bringer. Do you actually believe Druu'giir would let you in? HA!" He had spun around his eyes dart madly. "My crew and I had a better chance. Then you and your pathetic group. You should have joined us, together we could have carved our way up to the top. A being who can travel the shadow so well, should be treated better, he should treat like a nobility not some puppet."

The drow had snorted, "But now I'm going to have to kill you. Re form my group and finish my climb. I'll let Druu'giir will play with his new dead puppet, the one who thought it was going somewhere. He thinks your scum, just like he thinks we are scum. But he'll teach you that in time."

He had snicker and continued to shout up at the rafters that Valdear had used to hide himself. In the end, the words had lasted longer then the drow had last. They were like the second injection of a poison and he could feel the poison slowly torment his emotions.May the abyss take him, Valdaer thought angrily. I can't waver now. We need to be solid...Plus there is no turning back now. The demon has us, though I don't how long we'll continue to play puppet.

*Under a heavy cowl and opting to act as if hunched over Maran wandered the city not standing out due to the collage of Arcane students. So far had he not seen any of these Drow Wizards near the ability he or his master possessed, but they where impressive no less. As he milled about the crowd he reached the square where an assortment of macabre and rather nasty behavior was occuring. A large orc led a chainline of about 10 Elven girls stripped naked to be as pleasure slaves. He looked for a moment, his Elven blood searing hot at the abomination, but the cool solid mind of a Mage took hold. He would attempt to free them he decided, but being brash and aggressive was foolish. There was so much magic being used here, he was certain no one would notice a hooded man tapping the Weave and channeling a small Arcane Eye to follow the gaoler to where the poor young females where kept...With that in mind he would plan his move very carefully, for subtlety was key. He did however make sure he would compensate the slaver for her 'loss', and so he memorized the prices each of the young females was being sold at. He had far, far, far more then the Drow Witch was asking...tonight they would be free, but at fair cost.*

((Ah the way to play Chaotic Good. xD Being rash (stealing yet paying for slaves is the Chaotic part), then setting them free once he returned to the surface (the Good part).))

The soft rattle of bone, and chains clicking together once again sounds out before his arrival, the monster claws he had braided in his messy short cropped hair click together, the chains on the butt end of his massive axe cling, the hooks catching one another.....looking towards the sound over the crowd would afford only a sighs of his axe, a jagged two faced blade that was over three feet wide.....then, as a gap in the crowd appears, you would see a drow, only five four in height, his muscular frame slight, too small to be carrying the axe around like he did, as if it was as light as air. His red eyes hold a glint of insanity, gazing about the crowd, but lowering when ANY female passes him, his body almost hopping with joy if any priestess comes within sight off him. If a goblin gets in his way, he removes it with a bot to the head, chuckling darkly as he lets his eyes run over the boards, his every movement bringing out that light rattle of bone against bone, metal against metal. His armor was mismatched, form fitting, some of his scarred, well toned midriff showing through, a few tattoos and runes visible....nothing magical about them...not anymore at least.

He scratches his chin, lightly mumbling as he tilts his head.....he needed some extra cash....to buy a gift for his roommate....in the cramped cave that he called home, he found it wise to keep the spider who was there first, happy. The spider had been moody of late, so he was going to buy her something shiny...maybe with a big hole she could rest in, then, he would catch her a big'ol lizard! He smiles wider, giving a soft giggle, hopping in place.

*As the dimming of the central spire indicate the passing into 'night' Maran silently cast Improved Invisibility upon himself, and reinforced it with an Empowered Non-Detection spell. then he wandered as swiftly as he could through thinning crowds. He kept his slender right hand near his neck tattoo...if things went bad he could incinerate opponents around him with the Sunfire spell. Approaching the locked cages the guard on duty was a large burly ogre with a rather nasty looking spear. Maran wanted nothing to do with it, and taking cover behind a small outlet he risked exposure long enough to cast a Hold on the monstrous creature before making his move. He approached the cages and snatched the key from the ogre who was now completely immobilized and looking the opposite direction. He unlocked the door and closed the door quickly. He could feel the Weave on two of them, but without their books, the poor mages where unable to prepare spells. He prepares another spell then dispels his invisibility. The females crouch back in fear at the man kneeling over in a blue hooded cloak. He stands and throws back the hood, revealing his white face and blond hair. The reaction is nearly instant, the Silvery Moon of Corellon embroidered on his cloak and the warm smile on his face.*

"You are safe now...I will get you out of here." *He extended turned and began weaving his hands around in the shape of a circle and a 5 pointed star. Then he surged the Arcane energy into it and the Dimension Door appeared, the inside of his study could be seen through the gate.* "There is little time, go now. I shall follow." *Maran watched as all 15 ran through, all of them red and trying to cover themselves. Shame had covered their faces before, now it was relief. As the last went through he dropped a small sack containing 10,000 gold pieces and walked through, and instead of simply cutting the weave, he pulled the strands out of it to destroy even a residue of Arcane energy. The job was done.*
