I'm thinking that for the riddle there is more to it than that, because otherwise there's loads of unnecessary information...
But I would have to say, just for the sake of going against what other people said, that Mrs V is the Cleaning lady, and that she sold sheets and towels. xD
I know it's wrong, but I might as well guess when the first two have said laundress, so why not? xD
