(Also known as Eric Grisham) YOUR SOUL SHALL BE CONSUMED BY FIRE. E stepped backwards as the sickle scythed through where his head USED to be. Unfortunate. Ah well, at least she had TRIED to fight him. So sad. And of course, she picked up the scythe. Again. Why do people ALWAYS try to reclaim their weapons? It never does any good. Anyway, blood, blood, blood.
"Why are you picking up your scythe again when we could have a good old battle of knives? I've killed most of your compatriots by myself, all strong men. You aren't even a woman yet, and you never will be if you don't back off. Albeit, you have quite the heaping helping of malice."
E drew a knife and threw it at the scythe blade in one clean motion, knocking the little girl off of balance, drew another knife, and charged forward, blue eyes fixated on the sickle. ASHES TO ASHES.

Yes I will straight up leave your sh*t
Maka looked up to stare at E. Somehow, she felt as though he had suddenly gotten frustrated. She didn't think he liked kids. And he seemed much scarier when he was for real. It seemed as though she would have to play for serious now, too. And that meant avoiding the man who she couldn't defeat. Her rage was beginning to dribble away, along with the brute strength. If she kept going, with only strategy, she couldn't possibly last much longer. She held the scythe defensively, with the pole in front of her, crossing diagonally across her chest. And slowly, she began to take backward steps, her eyes looking around the room. "You're right. If I stay, I'll probably die."
And then she saw her chance.
Maka turned and ran to the side, grabbing the little girl named Alice. She dragged the girl backwards, and, holding her tightly, pulled the sickle from it's thong and put it in place around the little girl's neck. Her back was to the wall, so there would be no back-attacks. "But I've got nothing left to lose! Fairen, your rule is at an end! Drop your sword and fall to the blade, or watch your daughter die!" Her glare turned into the smile of the slightly crazed. "Or will you sacrifice her for the lives of you and your wife? You decide. You know, there was a king who said he didn't care what happened to his son in a battle against another country. He won, you know." It was only then that she glanced down at the girl she was holding. The girl couldn't have been more than ten. She was almost the same age as Maka. Maybe a year younger. Maybe less. Almost a woman, who was crying like a little girl. She would definitely kill such an annoyance.

Akihiko's eyes widened when the girl started threatening Alice. "Alice!" he cried.
Alice screamed and sobbed even more. "Big brother!"
"Leave her alone!" Akihiko yelled. "Only a coward threatens the life of a young girl!"
King Faren hesitated, seeing Alice's life at sake. He knew he would die, along with the queen, but he couldn't let Alice die.

Hana nodded. "You too," she said just before he left. She turned to the others. "Are you sure you can hold them off?" she asked.
"Yes. Just go!" a Faren soldier said.
Hana nodded again and ran off towards the throne room. she blasted away any enemy soldiers that came at her, leaving the others to the few remaining castle guard. When she entered the throne room, she ended up behind Gailor. She couldn't see the Faren family because of his bulk. She attempted to blast him away with a chi blast, but he somehow heard her and stepped aside. Then she saw the scene before her. Little Alice had a scythe at her throat, the king and queen stood together, and Akihiko stood a little away from them.
"Princess Alice!" Hana cried and ran towards her. Before the girl could kill Alice, she reached them and put up a chi barrier to protect Alice. "Princess, this way," Hana said and Alice ran past her and to her parents.

Enserric the Grey (Also known as Eric Grisham) E tensed up as Maka grabbed the girl. The girl herself wasn't that important, since there were always replacements, but a dead load of meat is rather heavy and tends to block knives. Problematic. Ah well, at least she would probably die in the end anyway, but it sort of looked like she was expecting that.
"Meh, go right ahead. I don't really care."
He tensed up to spring, but jolted backwards in a unseemly and rough motion as a silvery field sprung up around the hostage. What, she can work magic now? This is getting worse and worse. Oh, wait, it's an ally. Great. Now i have to figure out how to work past that.
E watched, openmouthed, as the girl was led calmly away, then leaned over to maka "You know, learning to throw a sickle is a good life skill. You can hit magical people in the back of the neck with them. Then they fall down and bleed to death. Do you want me to show you how?"

Maka's eyes narrowed and turned to the yelling boy. "But I guess that doesn't count for your parents, does it? They aren't cowards if they kill five-year-olds who didn't do anything wrong, is that it? People like you make me sick!" Maka turned back to the child who was in her arms and let go, using her foot to kick the girl in the back, so that she would fall to the floor. She grabbed the scythe from where it was on her back and brought it down where it should have hit Alice in the heart. But there was an invisible shield. "Chi..." She whispered to herself, before glaring up angrily at the woman who had made the barrier. "You're in the way. Move your barrier or I'll kill you." But obviously, the woman had no such intention, and the princess ran back to her parents. This was something Maka noted. The girl cared more about dying with her parents than getting to safety herself. It was something Maka wished she'd been able to do. But it wasn't as though Maka had gotten such a choice.
Dah. No use thinking about useless things right now. Maka would consider such sentimentality later, after she had destroyed the family that had destroyed hers. Ignoring E, who had popped up beside her to tell her to throw a sickle at someone, Maka swung the scythe back, and charged with a rage scream, towards Hana. But she never made it.
Something hit her in the side and she fell towards the window instead of at Hana. She collapsed underneath it, out of breath, and, in the midst of the pain in her back that came from slamming into a wall, she looked up to see the king Gailor. He smiled, and reached down, pulling her up by her collar. "The poor should just stay in the dust under our feet where they belong. Don't you know that by now? I bet your family was just trash, that the good ol' kingy here decided to sweep up."
Even through the pain, Maka could still give the scariest of glares. "Don't you dare say that about my family."
Gailor shrugged. "Hardly my words. Well, whatever." His hand shifted to grasp around her neck.
Maka kicked at the man. "Let go!"
Gailor smiled. "Certainly, you poor trash. My hands feel all dirty just touching someone with no money." His hand pushed her back and dropped her out the window, while saying, "Glad we had this little chat."
Maka screamed as she fell, but it fell on deaf ears. Then she was gone.

((Hm...I think I'll finish up this business with Gailor now.))
Hana turned in the direction the royal family was in and saw, to her horror, that Gailor had closed in on them. She started to run towards them, but she wasn't quick enough. Gailor had brought his axe down on the king and killed him.
"You're majesty!"
"Daddy!" Alice cried.
"No!" Akihiko cried and started to run towards them.
"Stay back, Akihiko!" his mother yelled to him, making him stop. "Alice, go to your brother."
"No! I won't!" Alice said.
"Alice-"
Gailor didn't give her a chance to finish. He swung his axe horizontally and cut her head off.
Alice screamed. She ran over to Gailor and kicked his shin. "You monster!"
"Alice!" Akihiko yelled, but his warning came too late. Gailor cut her head off as well. Gailor started to approach Akihiko, but was forced to stop when a blast of light went right in front of him.
Hana ran to Akihiko after she sent a chi blast towards Gailor and stood in front of Akihiko to protect him.
Gailor continued walking towards Akihiko and Hana. "If you value your life, I would suggest moving," he said.
"I am a soldier of Faren. It is my duty to protect the royal family. I may have failed the king, queen, and Princess Alice, but I will not let you harm Prince Akihiko so long as I draw breath," Hana said.
"I commend your loyalty. However, I cannot let him live," Gailor said and swung his axe in a vertical strike towards Hana.
Hana extended her hands towards the axe that was falling towards her, palms up, and used her chi to make a shield. But Gailor was strong, too strong. She staggered with the effort. She had expended too much chi to begin with, and this wasn't helping.

(Also known as Eric Grisham) What is life... E was counting his options. He could let Gailor kill Faren's family with his amazing, astoundingly impossible skills -- how could he literally cleave someone's neck off? With someone as fat as the Queen, it should take nearly five hundred pounds of pressure to put a blade through that. So either the king was tremendously strong, or had magic assisting him. Neither would be good for E's quarterly report. So he really had two options here. A, die. Nah, that option wasn't very good. B, let Berserker take over and pull out Sharpest Thing, and laugh in the low, harsh laugh of Geist when Gailor tried to block. At least he would see blood that was not his own. Yeah, let's do it.
Sharpest thing fell out of it's chest-sheathe into E's hand. Three flips. Draw Breadknife. Battlecry. "It seems you have denied me the opportunity to slaughter many. For that, i become your worst nightmare, King Gailor. They were paying me by the kill, you know."
Blood flowed into E's eyes as Berserker flowed into his mind. His rational thought processes were diverted and then purged as new thoughts came up. BURN. MAIM. KILL. SUFFER NOT THE HERETIC TO LIVE. ASHES TO ASHES. TAKE HIS SKULL FOR THE SKULL THRONE. SPILL HIS BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD. CLEANSE, PURGE, KILL!
The... thing leaped at the King, muttering something about the "Blood god", knives flashing through the air. He easily parried the incoming axe, shattering the Breadknife but putting a long, deep crack in the axe. Sharpest Thing was spun into the icepick position. ... Without a little mental instability?

Suddenly a man rushed forward to protect Gailor. It was his assassin, Satoshi. Satoshi drew his own knives and threw them at Gailor's attacker. Then he placed himself between Gailor and E.
"If you leave now, I will spare your life," Satoshi said.
Hana staggered more. Gailor was not relenting and she wasn't sure how much longer she could keep this up. "Ung..." This strength...It's inhuman.

Four pieces of knives fell to the ground. Not a scratch on Sharpest Thing.
"Oh you poor, poor fool. You really have no idea who you are fighting, do you? You can't be more than 19. I have killed a million people, and fought a million battles. Do you honestly think you can stop me now, in my home environment, in a berserker rage? If you do, you are a fool, and i shall let Berserker shred your pitiful shell of a body."
Blood was coursing through E's eyes. This poor fool was going to get ANNIHILATED as soon as Geist finished rambling. Another knife flicked to his hands. Another day, another brutal murder. Nothing could stop him now. Sharpest Thing flicked back to the standard combat position.

Bjorn was attempting to close in on the throne room, but he kept getting cut off by foot soldiers, and had to stop and fight. He could hear the sounds of fighting from the throne room but could not get to it.
He was stopped by a pair of swordsmen, both wielding a pair of swords each. He held out his claymore, and the two swordsmen attacked. Bjorn was fast, but they were faster. Still, he managed to hold them off...for now.

((Um...I'm kinda waiting for Bjorn to enter the throne room. Hana's kinda struggling to keep Gailor from killing her, and if she releases the shield now, he will, and then how will Akihiko escape alive?))
"Nng." Hana's vision started to blur and she knew that she'd kill herself if she didn't release the shield quickly, but she couldn't let Gailor get to Prince Akihiko. Her breathing was becoming labored.
"You...will not...harm Prince Akihiko..." she said between breaths.
"Don't underestimate me," Satoshi said and prepared to defend Gailor.

((Well, I'm trying to stay in Gailor's personality as much as I have to, and he wouldn't just let Akihiko go just like that. Unless someone was there to keep him from pursuing them. Hm...Maybe...Okay, I gots an idea! I don't need Bjorn in there! ^^))
Gailor, knowing that she wouldn't last much longer, doubled his efforts to break her defenses.
Just as Gailor redoubled his efforts, Hana was forced to withdraw the shield, as she had used way too much energy sustaining it. She fell to her knees, one hand on the ground to support herself, one on her head. She closed her eyes and waited for death to come.
At that moment, Faren soldiers burst into the throne room. The bodies of the king, queen, and Alice shocked them, but they were relieved to see Akihiko still alive and in one piece. The strongest of the soldiers ran to Hana and Akihiko, using their swords to stop the axe.
Hana looked up in surprise. The Faren soldiers were surrounding Gailor and his companion, although Hana knew they wouldn't last.
"Hana, take Prince Akihiko and run!" a soldier yelled to her.
Hana nodded and stood. "Come, Your Highness!"
Akihiko had been just standing in shock, but the Faren soldiers entering had brought him back to the real world. "R-Right," he said and the two turned and ran to the secret passageway in the throne room, leaving the soldiers behind them to distract Gailor. After running for a few minutes, and running down some stairs, they could see the sunlight. They emerged from the passage and into an alley in the city. After leaving the alley, they ran through the panicked crowd of people and out of the city.
Once they cleared the city gates, Akihiko turned around and looked at his home one last time.
"Mother...Father...Alice...I will avenge you. Just you wait. Gailor will pay for what he's done," Akihiko promised his fallen family, a single tear sliding down his cheek.
((All righty. I had intended on taking a little longer, but, just for Gwen, I did it in just one post. Sorry if it's a bit rushed.
