"Because I'm not a whole Angeni," he pointed out, patient despite the fact he had already informed her that he wasn't a full bred soquili. Perhaps she had forgotten this tiny tidbit of information whenever the cold water had nipped at her skin, but he would give it to her again. Allowing his tail to sweep gently against his rump, he allowed her a few moments to warm up and then canted his head to the side. Well - he was glad she hadn't been swept away but how was he going to explain this to his Papa if he saw a wandering foal.
He'd get in trouble if Baltidos found out he hadn't told her not to cross the water!
"I think some protect nature while others protect other things," he furrowed his brow at this. According to what he'd heard, Rosie's mate was related to an Angeni who represented an emotion rather than a part of nature. It was all rather puzzling, but Solstice had to confess that he could see there was a necessity to protect all forms of emotions, theme, creature and so on. After all, if love was silenced completely then the place would be very drab indeed!
"Like Time and um...Love," he had only heard of those two, but he was certain that there were likely to be others around, he simply hadn't met them yet. As a halfbreed he possessed no guardianship but he could profess to having an afinity to flowers thanks to his mother. He suspected that Babes (despite her tomboyish ways) could say the same as him in that respect.

'Of course, you said.' Chatura answered, shaking herself like a puppy, drops of cold water flying from her pelt. She had made sure she was still far enough away to now spray him. He'd said what his mother was, but she didn't remember if he'd spoken of his father..but then all thought tended to be thrown away when you traversed icy water, no matter how short a distance it had been.
'That's interesting, so they make sure that nothing prevents them, that kind of thing?' she asked. It really was interesting, and she wondered how they knew what it was they had to protect, if it was just something innate like breathing.
'Will you be a Guardian of something when you grow or is that also a thing that only full Angeni get to do?'

He shook his head slowly, he knew all too well that his mother’s blood coursed through him but he was by no means obligated to take up the reins of her domain. She may have been the Angeni of Flowers, but his connection to these gorgeous plants was fleeting at best and he could only hear but a faint whisper. As far as he was aware and from the murmurs he had heard in passing, only full blood Angeni were graced with a domain and bound by the heavens to watch over it. His mother’s decision to fall for a land born soquili had ensured that neither he nor his sister were limited in this respect – though both Solstice and Babette were very fond of their mother’s particular domain.
“I would assume so,” he replied once she had settled and was finished shaking herself dry. He could be thankful for small favours, she hadn’t drenched him in the liquid and as a consequence he wouldn’t be lectured by his father! “At least, I know my mother gets very sad when her flowers suffer and she has to find a way to make them better,” he explained himself further. He was but a foal and only had limited details on the topic, what he knew was only what he had witnessed or been told when he queried it. “Either prevents or enforces it, something along those lines.”
“But only full blooded Angeni have a domain,” he finally answered her question and tilted his head to the side. “I don’t know how they get them, but they do... It’s something to investigate, for certain.”
