Fallon's eyes dropped to half-lids when Elke introduced Serenade. Sigh. It was such a girlfriend thing to do. They were even dressed to match each other. Double sigh. Elke was a nice girl (pretty too), but Fallon had to battle the pangs of jealousy that sprung up each time she caught a glimpse of just how close the bluenette clearly was to Serenade. Fallon only wished she could be that close. Of course, she wouldn't want to date for long -- but still. Serenade had denied her, even if Fallon had never formally asked her or tried anything.
Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh.
Turning her attention back to the dinner party and the other guests, Fallon fixed her smile back on her face, nodding in approval as each girl removed their shoes and stowed them as directed. Imogen was quick to bring up Barren Pines, but considering every guest aside from Melinda had been there, it was hardly a surprise. Fallon just smiled tight-lipped, as if Imogen had brought up someone's drug-addicted child or cheating husband around the dinner table, and then dashed to the door at the first sight of familiar curls.
It was Pierrette! And looking particularly lovely. None of the girls had disappointed, not a single one. "Pierrette, mon ami, you are only one minute and thirty-four seconds late -- not as bad as I had expected. Take off your shoes and place them in one of the cubbies by the door before entering. Please," she said, leaning forward to kiss Pierrette on both cheeks. Duh, they were Frenchfolk. That's what Frenchfolk do.

"So," Pierrette nervously giggled. "Does that fall into the 'fashionably late' window?" She didn't wince when Fallon kissed her on both cheeks. It wasn't because they were French as much as because it was Fallon. She was grateful, however, to find that Fallon's breath was scented with roses instead of human flesh. It sounded like nothing had changed, that nothing was remembered.
"Okay! I should have worn different shoes, after all. Ah well, they looked nice walking over here, so it was worth it." Pierrette shrugged before finally giving Fallon a hug. It was good to have her friend back, even if there were awkward memories that Pierrette could never forget. It wasn't Fallon's fault, though. It was evil. There was some horrible, evil force at work, one that Pierrette would have to stop. She gave Fallon another squeeze, one to reassure both of them.
Sailor Pisces would do her best.
Pierrette moved past her hostess and held onto the door frame for support as she took off her heeled sandals.
"Thank you so much for inviting me! So, you're going to Crystal Academy now? Wow, it must be so nice..."

"Oh! You do?" Elke seemed pleased; her smile was large, lips politely closed. Gosh, she knew people read her blog (the traffic on the site was clear enough) but she never expected to meet anyone. That was so wonderfully cool! She was still gleeing over it, hands over her mouth, when Pierrette entered. Sailor Pisces was here, too! Oh, that was so good.
After a moment of hesitation, she stepped away from the Princess's side to greet Pierrette, her smile even wider if that was possible. "Pierrette, I missed you," she declared exuberantly, reaching out to take the redhead's hands. "It's been so long, hasn't it?"

Wait. Elke was close with Pierrette too? Dear God, was this Fallon's arch nemesis in the flesh and blood! She eyed the blunette warily from across the room, lips bending down into a frown. First, Serenade. Now, Pierrette. Did Fallon need to create 'dibs' signs and hang them on her proposed conquests? This Elke girl worked fast. AND she was French too.
But hey -- as far as Fallon knew, Elke could not cook to save her life. Fallon clung to that fact like a life raft, drifting closer and closer to Elke.
The girl was quickly exposing herself as a kind of rival, but Fallon wasn't the type to jump at the first sign of danger. No, she would hang back and watch this girl and try to understand just what was so great about her to attract both Serenade and Pierrette. As Elke stepped forward, Fallon did not back away. It was a turf war, and Elke didn't even know it. Turning to Pierrette, Fallon turned her smile up 1000 watts, hoping to outshine Elke, if only by a little.
"Pierrette, you are always right on time," she said. It was a lie, and that hurt Fallon. But this was a necessary sacrifice. If she had lost Serenade, she sure as hell didn't want to lose Pierrette too. "And those shoes are exquisite. You have wonderful taste." Good taste or not, they had to come off. It was a rule. "It's great to see you too. I was overjoyed when I heard you were coming to dinner. Crystal Academy is a very nice school. I really enjoy it, but I could never replace the friends I had before." Was that entirely true? Meh, maybe not. But Fallon liked Pierrette, and with the competition of Elke hot on her heels, she felt determined to prove her devotion to the curly-haired teen.
Fighting the urge to snap Pierrette's hands away from Elke in a predatory claiming of territory, Fallon instead moved toward the table. "Feel free to have a seat at the table. I'm just plating up dinner now." Dagmar had not arrived yet, but Fallon did not seem to react to it, nor did she tell her guests when/if the girl would be joining them. Fallon knew what was going on, and that was all that really mattered.
(( Anyone here a vegetarian or adverse to chicken? ICly, I assume Fallon would know people's allergies/food stuff (for everyone but Elke at least). If you would care to save me some time and just post OOCly if your character has an allergy or something Fallon would know about, that would be muuuuch appreciated! ))

"Really?" A smile lit up on Serenade's face as Imogen spoke. She remembered! So she did know her in Barren Pines after all! "I've been practicing everyday." She said, with a gentle dip of her head, evidently pleased that she had recognized Imogen.
Still, there was this nagging feeling at the back of her mind, but it was quickly forgotten as Pierette entered, and the green-haired girl bounced after Elke to greet Pisces. She felt much better knowing that there were three of her Zodiacs around and beamed at the redhead. "How have you been, Pierette?"

Melinda did as told, pulling off her shoes as each of the girls greeted each other. Tucking them away into the cubby, she made sure she placed her room key with them. She gave a small greeting to them all as she stood back up, suddenly realizing that she was the only one here that wasn't from Barren Pines. Slipping her hands behind her back, she linked her hands together as she watched them all. How amazing it had to be, just knowing each other, going to the same school for awhile.
Chewing on her bottom lip, she continues to remain quiet as she listen to the conversations. So the blue hair girl, Elke was her name, had a blog? That was pretty sweet, and Serenade played piano? That seem to catch Melinda's attention for the moment. Another who had a passion for music, which meant one thing maybe in common.
Moving towards the low table, she carefully sat down. Her feet slipping under her as she fixed her dress. Resting her hands in her lap, she looks down at them for a moment. Looking back up, her green eyes were gentle as she chuckles alittle "Fallon, this dinner smells amazing. I should have said this earlier, but thank you for inviting me."

"I'm so happy to see you girls!" Pierrette squeezed Elke's hand, and then she wrapped an arm around both Elke and Serenade. She gave them both a tight hug, and was completely oblivious to Fallon's woes.
"Serenade, I'm doing just fine. I had no idea you two knew Fallon," Pierrette's eyes drooped slightly. If they knew Fallon, then maybe they had seen her when she...
No, that was all back then. This was now, and everything was good! She slowly let go of her two friends before taking each of their hands and walking over to the table.
"Fallon is a great, great cook! I can't wait to see what she's made for us tonight," said Pierrette. She let out a laugh that sounded like the twinkling of fairies hyped up on sugar. With a quick flourish she pulled out a chair and sat down in it, grateful that she didn't have to worry about her cumbersome senshi fuku. Whenever she sat in it, it always poofed up around her waist and almost exposed her derriere. Every time, it never failed. It didn't help that her bodice had a lacy bottom, either. The ribbons weren't just on the outside, you see.

Abeline greeted the guests with a small smile and nod for the most part, until Imogen made her hand raise on its own, copying the movement of the--- that was a white-burn mark right THAR! While Abeline recognized Serenade pretty quickly, she didn't click on Imogen until the greeting from long ago had passed. Her eyes widened slightly, but otherwise, Abeline's expression didn't change much.
And then, it seemed that most of the guests were here. She settled gracefully at Fallon's table, folding her hands in her lap as conversations started up. Her eyes flickering around. Fallon's room (well she wasn't sharing it with anyone else yet so technically it was all hers) was meticulious; as expected of the chef. The smells from the kitchen were delightful and Abeline inhaled deeply. She was a 'sometimes' vegetarian, but with Fallon's cooking, if it was on the plate, she'd try it. And this would totally blow any conception of a diet that she'd been considering.
She glanced around the table. Realizing that she was being rather quiet. "Uhm, Fallon, would you like a hand carrying the food in?" An empty offer, since Fallon would probably attack anyone who moved into the kitchen with a wooden spoon. But still, she offered because Abe was oh so good at making small talk.

Fallon was still in hostess mode, but she was also in multitasking mode, a mode she typically kept turned on. She smiled at all the compliments and murmured thank yous. Her eyes flickered up to Abeline briefly. "Thanks, Abeline, but I've already brought it all in. You can relax," she said, smiling. Fallon appreciated the offer, but like most things that involved cooking, she preferred to do it alone.
As the girls sat, Fallon came around them, dropping plates in front of each person. There was a wedge lettuce salad with a ginger dressing on a smaller plate, a tiny empty dish for sauces, and then a larger plate covered in a sweet-and-sour glazed chicken, Chinese broccoli, and a sweet mashed potato. The table had soy, teriyaki, hoisin, and a curry paste. She explained all of these quickly and told the girls to help themselves to either water or iced green tea.
After everyone was served, she found her own pillow and took a seat. "If you need anything, let me know," she said, unrolling her silverware. Before she took a bite, she smiled and added, "I hope you guys like the game I have planned. It's really simple, but it seemed like fun to me." Fallon loved games, she really did. Games had rules, duh. Rules and Fallon should probably just get married. It was probably legal. Somewhere.
Fallon glanced to Elke, target of her curiosity. She wanted an excuse to talk to her, to find out more about this strange girl who was so close with the people she wanted to be close with. "Are you a fan of games, Elke?" she said, smiling. Maybe too wide.

When Abeline spoke up, Pierrette snapped her head over to look at the Frost Queen. Apparently, the title 'Frost Queen' or 'Ice Queen', etc didn't bother her.
"A-be-liiiiine!" Pierrette waved happily, suddenly glad of where she had sat. In a wave of nostalgia, the girl hugged Abeline's arm, resting her cheek on her shoulder. "I'm so happy to see you agaaaain!"
The nostalgia passed, and Pierrette blinked a couple of times before lifting herself off of Abeline and sitting calmly at her seat, looking at the beautiful plate in front of her. Memories of hands tangled in hair and sweaty bodies viewable only to the stars fluttered through her mind, and soon were replaced by images of Fallon starring in Iron Chef. She certainly had the talent, but Pierrette wasn't sure if she could imagine Fallon working in a hectic battle where you had to have assistants helping you. No, Fallon was more suited to a solo battle, something like Chopped Pierrette had obviously been watching food shows on her host family's small TV.
"This looks amazing, Fallon. You really thought of everything, you even have hoisin sauce!"

Unbeknownst to Elke, she was a pimp.
It fully would have distressed her if she knew Fallon thought of her like that; Elke, to her own mind, was fully a man's woman, even if she did have these totally awkward completely fail dreams of sleeping with other girls. "I didn't know I knew Fallon, either," said Elke pleasantly, "but I'm very glad I was invited." She settled herself between Serenade and Pierrette, smiling to both; when told it was all right, she waited for Serenade to serve herself before pouring a glass of iced green tea.
Elke's manners at dinner were beyond reproach; she waited for the host to take the first bite, and only then picked up her utensils to take a properly-sized bite of salad. (As for sauces, no way. Papa said that you should only put sauce on poorly-made food. And steak. You always put A1 sauce on steak. Maman had then taken her aside to explain that A1 sauce was only necessary if the steak was unflavored and-- there were a lot of rules about food in the Arma house, really.)
"Of course," she said cheerfully to Fallon after setting down the utensils in her hands politely; "I look forward to this game especially, it's been such a long time since I played anything but checkers!"
Huh. Checkers. Why did that sound familiar? Elke shifted a little to look at Pierrette, confused--
And then she was back, smiling, cheeks dimpling as she took a polite sip of her green tea.

Pierrette's sudden hug caught Abeline off guard and she spent a moment staring at the girl hugging her arm before something more shiny distracted Pierrette... but the touch of Pierrette's bare skin--- Abeline poured herself a drink in venerable silence, settled back, took a sip, happily took a few baby tomatoes from her salad and rend their flesh unto her mouth. She remembered them meeting in Denny's; Pierrette was Pisces. That seemed perfectly okay, not a problem, nothing out of the ordinary. And then the word checkers came up. Oh yes. The codeword that she remembered teasing someone abo---
OH MY GOD!!!
Abeline's face turned red and she almost whiplashed around. "P-Pierrette..." it was a weak whisper of a sound, inquisitive, childlike; because if it reflected the sound of a gargled scream echoing through her head, then that would be totally unlike Abeline Froust.
She had flashes. A full color-sensation remembered PORNO in her head. And there was Pierrette, touching her, like, like.... Froust almost choked on the tea she was trying to sip daintily. She reached toward Pierrette, touching her shoulder briefly--- ICANSEEYOUNAKEDINMYHEADDDDDDD!! before smiling. It was a gentle smile, a soft smile; one that betrayed nothing of the embarrassing thoughts whizzing through her brain. "Games... very flexible..."
She took a deep breath in through her nose and glanced at Fallon. "Do tell us about the game..." It wasn't helping; she had images of throwing a giggling woman down beneath him--- her---oh god, why was her past self a damn pervert!?!!? And crumpling sheets and.... and... wait, how the hell was she bending her spine that way?

Serenade was relieved, and very happy when Pierette hugged her and Elke and assured that she was doing fine. Pisces had probably learned to not get into narrow alleyways again, and that was a good thing. There were no bruises on Pierette, not that she could see, and none on Abeline either, which made Serenade smile more brightly. She sat besides Elke, of course, not knowing that the closeness of the Zodiacs and their Princess had cause Fallon some distress. It was all pretty normal to her.
She took a sip of the water, then tried the salad. Again, the thing about checkers didn't bother her as much, but somehow it rang a very dim bell in her head--
"They're playing checkers again." A dark cat with a double-star on his forehead huffed, pressing his ears backwards as she laughed and patted him.
--Serenade blinked. Was that Zue?

If Fallon knew what Pierrette and Abeline were thinking about, she would be jealous. It is unfortunate the cinnamon-haired teen could not read minds.
Alas.
Fallon hardly noticed any awkwardness passing across the table. She was too fixated on a bit of wilted lettuce she had missed when preparing the salads. It was on her plate thankfully, but she tried to steal glances at the others to see if they had the misfortune of receiving her sub-par lettuce too. Apparently Fallon had been more nervous about tonight than she realized. Those little slips didn't happen often.
Pushing the thought of less-than-delicious lettuce from her mind, Fallon smiled up at Elke, eyes drinking in every inch of her face. She barely knew the girl, but her familiarity with those that Fallon wanted to be more familiar with piqued the girl's curiosity in a way that was hard to turn off. "It's a simple game. A sort of 'getting to know you' activity. I know most of us went to school together or go to school together now," she smiled at Melinda, "but I was hoping we could learn even more. Make new memories, you know?" New memories would be great. Super great. Actually, remembering her old memories might not be so bad either.
"I don't want to give away all the details yet, but you might want to start thinking of five questions you would like to ask the people in this room." Fallon smiled, clearly pleased with herself. The game wasn't horribly clever, but the hostess was pleased as punch to play it.

Aaand apparently no one remembered her well enough to ask after anything she did. Oh well. It wasn't like she'd known anyone that well at their own school. Just saw them around. Except Abe who she knew from her English class and Fallon she knew better...Imo smiled, ate politely (food was delicious as expected!) and listened as they all got settled. She took a place at the table by Abeline and waiting until she had something to add to the conversation.
"Sounds like fun Fallon." Imo said politely before spearing another bit of broccoli on her fork. Sounded like the game could break the ice anyway!
