A small smile crooked on his features and he got to his feet again, pacing forward until he was standing over her, blocking off some of the rain that fell on her bowed head. “Only if you chose to be. Haven't you ever heard of changing your stars? Nothing is set in stone.”
He brought one large paw up to lightly touch under her chin, urging her to look up. He leaned forward, murky gray eyes finally able to focus as her face came into clear view. He looked over her face for a while, inspecting, perhaps making sure he'd be able to remember it so he could visualize when talking to her later. She was lovely. Without thinking he nuzzled against her cheek.
“Come stay with me... tell me your sadness, Min'tier. I'm not here to judge but I certainly will listen if you need someone to. I would never tell your secrets, not that I would have anyone to tell anyway.” He moved around to stand beside her, lightly nudging her towards the some what dry hollow beneath the roots.

Rounded ears lowered when she realized he had heard her, feeling the hollows of her cheeks heat with embarrassment to be caught feeling sorry for herself. Warm, wise words confused her. Changing her stars? Himeru was hesitant to look at him, but her visage turned upward obediently with the gentle encouragement of his touch. Tear-markings etched into the leopardess' face seemed to speak volumes of her distraught soul as she spoke bleakly, b-but I don't have any stars.
The nearness of Akua's face to her own and the warmth of his breath caused her whiskers to twitch timidly. Blushing as his cheek touched her own, eyes dropping at the tender gesture with baited breath in response to the lack of distance between them. As the shadow of his body paced around her, encouraging the Hime with a careful buffet of his large head, she finally caved to the gesture. Physical coaxing seeming to resonate more with the tiny leopardess far more effectively than any soothing words he'd used thus far. Perhaps because Sagasu was more prone to using force to get through to her meek twin than reasoning, but whatever the case shivering femme eventually found herself nudged right into the hollow where she nested, tucking her limbs beneath herself while her tail curled tightly around her haunches, so shy and uncertain. But.. I don't w-want to burden anyone else... t-that's why I ran away.

He settled in next to her, curling up around her to keep her little shivering form sheltered from any rain that may make it's way in to their little hideaway. He offered what little heat he could as well in doing so, knowing that he should be enough to at least start warming her up a little bit. As it was this meant he spoke to her not looking at her, but down at the top of her head.
“It's no burden to me. However if you would rather keep your words to yourself you can. It is not good for you, though.” He began to lightly groom one of her ears, speaking in between moments of licking. “I used to feel the same. That there were no stars, that I would only be a burden. I'm sure there is at least one person in your life who brings a light to your darkness.” He paused a little while, giving another soft lick to her neck near to her shoulder. “...at least let me be a light in your sky. Maybe if only tonight...?”
She was so small... so fragile seeming. And he could not deny that she'd been very lovely when he'd been able to lean in close enough to see her. “In a life time of comings and goings... so many others I've met and then never met again...” he let his voice trail, his face actually warming a little. He gave a flick of his tail and cleared his throat. “Well...”
He couldn't say what'd he'd been about to and thank the stars that he'd caught himself before he -had-. What would it seem to admit that the little leopardess had already started a small, warming fire within his chest.

Shifting her weight, at first Himeru tentatively leaned into the side of the body that curled around her. The warmth generated between them eventually sating her shivering, causing slight frame to press closer for comfort. The lilting sound of his voice soothed the harsh ache of loneliness that had hollowed the leopardess to the husk she had been when Akua had found her. Listening sedately to calm reasoning which the lion spilled now that he had her undivided attention.
Himeru's face was tainted by a flustered blush that peeked through her pale fur in response to Akua's rough but gentle tongue as he licked at her ears and gingerly groomed her. The source of the blush being the purr that rolled in her chest with utter bliss, a sound which she couldn't seem to contain despite her best efforts. It had been so long since she'd bothered to groom herself, let alone been groomed by another. Someone who was her light in the darkness. Sagasu's face immediately formed in her minds eye. The gorgeous, dark furred leopardess, her twin, her polar opposite. She loved her rebellious sibling so much, for so long Sagasu had been the only one she could count on. The one who had always taken care of her when their parents had left them to fend for themselves. Never able to live the carefree life she was meant for thanks to Himeru's dead weight. That was why she had to leave and now there was no light at all.
The tears began to fall before she could stop them, thin shoulders hitching with the chirp of nearly silent hiccuping sobs. His offer startling her enough that she lifted her wet face, round eyes wavering and watery. You.. you want to be.. m-my light?

He was close enough to see the glimmer of her eyes, leaning forward the rest of the way to nuzzle against her muzzle, his cheek against her cheek. He hesitated just a few moments before speaking up.
“Yes. I'd like to be. If only for tonight...” He felt a flush, a catch in his throat. It was strange that he was saying something like this to someone he'd only just met but... he did mean it.
Looking into her face, so close their noses were near touching, he smiled faintly. “You're... lovely.”

Tiny figure trembled as she was nuzzled before happily burying her face in his thick mane with her delight at his answer, her tongue gently brushing over the dense fur as she groomed him in return, leaning in and gently laying her paw over his as she did. It seemed that the leopardess was grateful to have someone again, not thinking to question what "if only for tonight" could possibly entail for her future.
And as their faces draw close once more she felt her own face fill with color at the gentle compliment, ducking her head to nuzzle beneath his chin and hide against his chest. N-no.. I'm not. I don't deserve this.

Akua let a rich chuckle roll from his chest, she could probably feel it rumbling through him as he brought a paw up to pull her closer, let her lean into him and feel as safe as she needed.
“Argue as you wish but I'm still here.” He sighed, settling in with her and listening to the rain patter against the leaves above and the earth around them. It was peaceful, quiet. He rested with her against him, feeling a warmth wash over him as he gently rubbed his cheek against the top of her head as she pressed into his chest.

Pleased by the rich warmth of his rolling laughter, instead of recoiling from the grip that drew her tight against him. The brush of his fur causing her body to heat as the flush upon her face darkened intimately. Despite herself she purred at him, plush tail slithering two and fro against the floor until it brushed against the large lions. Hesitating a moment before she laced it over his own shyly, lifting her head into the underside of his chin as Akua nuzzled at her. There was a solace in their jungle thicket that night, laced with peaking pheromones that caused Himeru's pink nose to twitch, breathing in the scent of her companion with a sense of yearning igniting in her belly. Perhaps it was only a need to feel connected to someone other than her sister after being alone for so long but whatever the reason the young leopardess had the sense to know she would never forget this night or Akua.
