OMG I LOVE ALL OF YOU THAT ARE SAYING THAT SHE'S RIGHT!!!
Yeah, even gay marriage is illegal, in most states.
Although it is debatable if the Bible says that homosexuality is wrong.
But most Christians do.
So...
Yeah...
Actually, one time I heard a sermon about how homosexuality is wrong...
That created...
Almost a riot, actually.
But yeah, there are many things that aren't allowed because of Christianity.

Would you say the reason America is so conservative about nudity and cursing on tv and less open about drugs and prostitutes (yup) because we were a nation based off of Christianity?

I was just wonder of what others thought. I think it does play a role in why Americans are the way they are. Maybe a better question is ...How is religion shaping America?

I would go back to the formation of the US, what types of people did this land attract who was the majority what was their culture like? It's all rooted there.

Christianity is a large part of that, our puritan roots even larger maybe.

People shape America, how are people using religion to shape other people is the important question I think. Look at the conservatives and the abortion issue for example, how many times have they run on the platform of being pro-life, how many people will not even give the candidate who is pro-choice a chance? I know a lot of Christians who will not vote democrat because of that one issue.

Now how many times has the republican party been successful in working towards overturning Roe Vs. Wade? Never but they have no problem with using God and religion to get votes.

I wouldn't put so much on Puritans as much as The Second Great Awakening. That really changed the landscape of the US in terms of how people participated in religion and how it could influence politics.

One should also look at how religious organizations can influence the people as well. The Providence Foundation, for example, has affiliates ranging from Wallbuilders Inc to Joyce Meyers.
