She blushed. Again. But she took her arm all the same and smiled shyly (this wasn't how encounters with civilians was supposed to go, was it?) and with-held the insane urge to giggle. Was this really a part of a senshi's duties? Like, really-really?

"Oh, um, y-yeah. Stamina is always good, I m-mean, the streets are very dangerous and you've got to be careful and, um, stuff, so when you c-can't fight, you should j-just run. Really." She nodded solemnly and hoped that it sounded as good as it had in her head - knowing when to run was a key thing in Destiny City these days.

"So where d-do you want to go? Or, um, need to. Whichever."

With Vanadis by his side, Howl began to lead the way. He offered an explanation of "I will be needing to go towards the cafe near my other encounter. I am meeting a friend there later." It was a bull-faced lie. He needed to meet Franz at the restroom nearby. However, his face was so trustworthy and his tone sounded completely honest, that it would have taken a lie detector to note the mistruth.

Fortunately, a majority of the trip was a straight way, just down the street and down a slight slant of a hill. It was a decent length, but nothing excruciatingly painful. After offering his explanation as to where the two would be going, he followed up with some commentary upon her philosophy of fighting.

"Maybe against a Youma, that would be the best course of action. However, against your everyday bully, I would like to think I had more backbone than to run off like a coward. I might not look like it, but I am a man beneath this pretty face." He laughed slightly in a rather polite manner simply at the acknowledgment of his feminine appearance. Of course, he then followed his laugh with a further explanation of his philosophy. "It is not that I am eager to get into a brawl, Miss Vanadis. I am actually a pacifist, though I am certain this would not surprise you. However, I would prefer to confront the situation directly instead of living my days in fear. My only weapon would be my words, and where as most times it is a losing battle, at least I can still say I did not back down like a dog with its tail between its legs."

By the time Howl had finished standing on his soap box, they had come to the slight downward slope of the hill. He paused long enough to let there be a careful pause before glancing to the pink-cheeked girl. "So, Miss Vanadis, do you have any hobbies? I highly doubt you are in uniform at all times." It was brought up conversationally, but in all honesty, it was just Howl prying ever so gently to gather more information. Hopefully this direct approach would not n** him in the butt.

Running away still sounded like a better idea to Vanadis, and unlike Howl, her every feeling could be read on her face. Still, she attempted to be tactful and skipped that part:

"Well, um, I guess words are better than, you know, f-fists and stuff." If only the Negaverse would adhere to this polic, too. She gave a slightly longing sigh at the thought - maybe she wouldn't have to run around in heels all the time, then.

And then he asked the worst possible question, didn't he? (Aside from 'can I see your panties?' which sort of topped all other questions she'd ever gotten.)
"Nope, no hobbies here! I just, uh, r-run around like this all day. Yeeep. T-that's what I do." She nodded along to her own words at a rapid pace, lying bare-facedly because seriously, there was no way that she was going to expose her shameful hobbies to a guy she'd just met.

The red-headed senshi's approach to speaking about herself most certainly was a reminder that she was not Miss Virgo. Miss Vanadis seemed rather uncomfortable speaking about herself. In all honesty, it was not a surprise. The girl had been blushing wildly almost all afternoon since he met her.

In an effort to break the ice, he then offered "I apologize for being so forward, Miss Vanadis. If you would prefer, you could ask me questions about myself? I will answer the questions I am comfortable with, much like yourself, but I hope you can forgive me if I happen to pass on a question." He glanced to the girl, looking into her gray-blue eyes sincerely. Young ladies were indeed strange creatures, but Sailor Senshi were even stranger.

"Um, it's okay." He was very, what-was-the-word, gallant? It was freaking her out, in a quiet sort of 'he could be a serial killer'-way. She'd never known anyone who was this, well, serene about everything. Vanadis hadn't ever counted herself as the most knowledgeable when it came to other people and their feelings, but even she usually had some sort of sense when it came to moods.

But she couldn't get a lock on Howl, at all. He was just nice, and it wasn't as freaky as, say, a rampaging youma, but it was a bit unnerving. Or maybe it just made her feel inferior (which was stupid, seriously, she was in senshi form and could probably squash him like a bug - after all, after mastering how to run in heels, nothing was impossible).

"It's a-alright, really." She smiled again, deciding to put away her silly insecurities and take this opportunity to make a friend. Even one who couldn't know her real identity. "Here goes! Is your hair naturally this colour?" It was disconcertingly pretty. Vanadis wondered if he spent as much time on his hair as she did in the morning.

A good natured laugh escaped from his throat at her question. Many people had asked him this in the past, so it was not foreign in the slightest. To assure her that it was a fine question, he calmly replied after clearing that laughter out of his throat "You most certainly ask the best questions, my dear." There was no sarcasm, it was just strictly an observation on his part spoken in only the nicest of fashions.

He sighed, glancing ahead of them to make certain they were still on the correct path (which they were) before supplying the girl an answer to the simple question.

"This is indeed, my natural hair color. I know it is quite strange, but it is actually a family trait. It is commonly found in the males of the Wickham line. Father's hair is also the same color. Mother's hair, since she joined the Wickham lineage through marriage, is a brunette."

He nodded briefly before once more politely looking into her eyes with a smile. "I will be quite honest, Miss Vanadis. I have been asked this question numerous times. It is actually very refreshing to answer such a question every time." The teal-haired gentleman could have easily returned the question, since Miss Vanadis also had a rather lovely, yet unique shade to her hair. However, from his experiences, young ladies were less prone to answering such a question about their physical appearance.

Politely, he extended the invitation to the Sailor Scout to ask another question. "Do you have any other questions for me, Miss Vanadis?"

She smiled along with his laugh, glad to know he hadn't dyed it himself. That would have been sort of creepy, if only because she'd never known another boy who'd dyed his hair teal. "It's a lovely colour, though. N-not the worst family trait to have, no? And it's good that you're okay with the question, because I imagine you get it a lot, um, I'm pretty sure numerous means."

She laughed and waved the hand not attached to his arm, "Sorry, I'm rubbish in English class. My t-teacher's always ragging on me for not having a good enough vocabulary.

"Hmm, let's see," she continued, tapping her lip as she thought of something to ask him that wouldn't be too personal or weird, "Have you got any siblings? Y-you mentioned parents, so."

As a casual observation before he answered her question, Howl mentioned "Perhaps you should study Latin then? If you are familiar with Latin bases, it usually helps in deciphering words you are unfamiliar with."

This time, he was not nearly as impressed with her question, but as was his usual manner, he tried to not let it bother his facial features. He was all polite smiles, and it was almost unnatural at times. "I am an only child, Miss Vanadis. As my mother has said to me on multiple occasions, I was more than a handful." This was a loose translation to what she really had said. Mother had more specifically said "I was lucky to get a son and a daughter in you, Howl." It was a blow to his masculinity, but his mother had meant it in the kindest of fashions.

For a moment, his turquoise eyes glanced over the surroundings, as if to gauge how close they were to his assumed destination. There was perhaps but a block more until they arrived. In a conversational fashion, he finished off the previous subject and attempted to press forward. "I can assure you, I was not a troublesome or mischievous child. I just required more care than my parents had expected. Since we are drawing close to the end of the line, I will add some more information that I am willing to share, my dear." With just a glance, he seemed to point out the cafe before continuing. "My own personal hobbies consist of fencing, writing in the sense of forming the letters, like calligraphy, and gardening." Note, people watching was not included. Most people were not so fond of that particular hobby, especially since it had been the thing to get him in trouble back at home.

Soon enough, their steps came to a slow halt just before reaching the cafe. "Any final questions before departure, my dear?"

Perhaps, but when on earth would she find the time? Between being a senshi, school and the part-time job she was pretty sure she'd have to find soon, there wasn't exactly much time for learning a whole other language. Still, she smiled and nodded and hoped he wouldn't want to talk more about her language deficiencies.

"No, I think that was all." She grinned - even if he did turn out to be a Bad Guy, she at least had a whole ton of information on him now. Even if it should turn out to be useless to know that he liked to garden in his spare time, but maybe she could.. taunt his weeding skills or something? Yeah. "Thank you from, um, saving me f-from staring endlessly at the prom dresses."

Howl's lips had been smiling the whole time, but as she thanked him, he tilted his head slightly for a small nod. "It was my pleasure, Miss Vanadis. Perhaps at some point you will be able to try one of them on." She had obviously been wanting to try them on.

Before she could argue, he once more went for her hand, dipping his head down and placing another gentle kiss upon her gloved hand. As he straightened himself up, his blue-green eyes looked into her gray ones. "I must thank you for escorting me safely to this particular destination."

He let go of her hand and stepped back, still facing her. "I will let you take your leave, Miss Vanadis. Please, keep safe until we next meet." He lifted a hand up and waved to her before turning to walk into the cafe. The young teal-haired man would not stay there long. More than likely he would wait inside, watching out the window to see if the Sailor Scout had fled, and then he would continue on with business as normal. There was no need for her to find out he was just another student from Hillworth.

"O-of course, you too." She waved back at him, standing still for a few moments after he'd entered the cafe to let the flustered feeling leave her before making onwards. Maybe she should ask Imo if she wanted to go dress shopping this week.

And with a prom dress in her closet she wouldn't be making another weird encounter like this, that was for sure.
