Kivuli took a deep breath to keep his anger at bay after hearing Maua's words. So she did believe he was cheating on her. He couldn't believe it. "You think I came out here to have some fling? Maua you know I would never do anything like that." The sheer idea of such a thing made him angry and sad at the same time. Did she honestly think he was no better than all those other lions that throw themselves at every pretty tail that walked by.
His gaze moved to that of the brown lioness who was leaving and then back to Maua. "I came out here to clear my mind. It does me no good to be mad at you." He stood rigid as he spoke. "Whatever you think you saw didn't happen. I was just talking to her. Maua I would rather die than even consider being unfaithful to you." This hurt him more than thinking about the fight they had the other day. He had never done anything to harm her in any way, and yet she seemed quite convinced he was busy having a fling behind her back.

Maua shifted her paws as she pondered Kivuli's words -she had never considered he would run around on her before, in fact it had been a fairly ludicrous thought, and for a few moments she doubted what he had seen..but then her mind went back to seeing Kivuli and the mud coated lioness 'greet' one another - that had certainly seemed far more friendly then just a 'talk' would require.
"but...but I saw you lick her...or nuzzle her...or something - well I couldn't really see but I do know you were far to close to be doing anything innocent or polite. So..so no! I didn't think you ere capable of doing something like this but well I saw it"

Kivuli shook his big head. "I did no such thing. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going and accidentally ran into her. My mind was focused on our fight from the other day, how I wish we hadn't have let our emotions get in the way." His eyes focused on hers and his features looked a bit sad from her allegations. "I promise you that nothing happened between us." How many times would he have to say that before she believed him. If it took the rest of his life than so be it. He had done nothing wrong and would not admit to something that he hadn't done.

Oh well...she supposed that might make a bit of sense too, Kivuili did have a way of drifting off when he was thinking about something, but she'd just jumped to the worst possible situation - as she was want to do now and again if she was honest with herself. She shifted on her paws again as she looked at him - he looked so sad and forlorn at her allegations, not a hint of guilt colored his eyes and he'd always been so truthful with her before...
Letting out a deep sigh she walked over and butted her head into his chest. "I believe you" he told him "I'm sorry...about..about everything"

Kivuli returned her nuzzle and then looked deeply in her eyes. "And I am sorry too, for saying what I did the other day. Let us put it behind us now." His eyes moved to the sky for a moment, oh my it was getting quite late in the day and there presence might be needed back at the pride. "Come on, let's go home. We have things to attend to." Giving her a small nudge with his thick mane before moving with her in the direction of the pride lands. Well this day had certainly been an interesting one. And from now on he told himself that if he ever had another fight with Maua to not wander off to think, it would be best for them to work in out together.
