"They're not too bad. But sometimes she talks too much and tells me I can't do stuff because it's dangerous, or likely to cause severe injury or somesuch." Féa's tone betrayed her disgust at her mother's meddling ways; seriously, it wasn't like she was an idiot. So what if she wanted to climb a rock on her own? She had wings, didn't she? Stupid things ought to be good for something other than being in the way, like, say, softening the fall from a ten foot rock. She'd planned for this.

"That's what mothers do, though, they worry and try to keep you safe," she said, smiling at Féa's unhappy tone, "It doesn't hurt to be careful, if I had been more careful then I might still be able to hunt for myself." It wasn't the entire truth but for the sake of making a point, she didn't think there was harm in it. She couldn't really have avoided what happened to her once the vicious rogue approached her but until she knew the reason why, she'd always thought there might have been a way to escape it. Either way, her own injury was on topic.
"Of course, you're a god," she added thoughtfully, looking down at Féa thoughtfully. She didn't know how serious injuries could be for a deity but if Henya worried, it couldn't be that much easier.

"I guess so." That was a fair point, the little cub had to concede as she glanced at Kasida's hind leg. "But even if that happened, you guys would still be here to help me out! Like Mom does for you, yeah?" And Henya had told her she'd teach Féa how to hunt too as she became older, and it had been implied, though not actually said, that she might have to hunt for Kasida as well one day if the lioness decided to stick around. Which she totally would, because she was family now!
"Yeaaaah, you'd think there'd be some perks to this whole god thing, besides the clunky wings and all." Henya knew how to fly, but Féa was still learning - and really, there was only so many times you could make yourself look like an angry hyena to scare Aida before it lost its charm, so the illusions thing wasn't much fun either.

"Of course," she agreed, though with some hesitation. She was grateful for Henya's help but she also felt guilty that she couldn't take care of herself. It was why she tried so hard to do whatever she was asked to do, like hanging out with Féa now. Of course, Féa could be keep an eye on Kasida just as much as Kasida kept an eye on her.
"Can't you fly?" she asked, realizing she hadn't really seen the small god fly-- and that she didn't really know a great deal about gods, "There aren't any special things you can do, being a god?"

"Nah, not yet. Mom's been teaching me - or she was, before you came along, but we've been kinda busy since, so. She says I'll get it one day." The little goddess shrugged, clearly not too bothered about not knowing how to fly yet. "Mom can do some stuff, but I don't think I can. Except the illusions, I guess."

"I'm sorry," Kasida said quickly, though she recognized that Féa didn't sound that upset or like she was trying to blame her for it, "I wish I could help but I certainly don't know how to fly or, ah, illusions."
She made a face, wondering just what gods could do. If anything, Kasida was capable of being an audience and she was curious. But there was no tactful way to suggest that.

"It's okay, you're not missing much." Féa giggled and nudged the older lioness, hoping she wasn't going to get all, y'know, apologetic for something that wasn't her fault in the first place. "Mom says there's more to it and I know she can do some weird stuff too, but she says I'm too young for that sort of thing right now."

"Hmmm," Kasida thought about what Féa said, she didn't know anything about what gods did or could do but it certainly sounded right that maybe Féa shouldn't be putting too much effort into trying everything right away. But then, how would you learn?
"What kinds of things can your mother do?" she asked curiously.

"Stuff." This was vague, but Henya had an ability to go frustratingly vague whenever Féa had asked her about her powers so she didn't really know what her mom could do. "She can teleport, though! I've seen it, it's so cool."
The little godling looked at Kasida with an uncharacteristically calculating look in her eyes; "You can't do anything, right? I mean, Aida says that mortals are 'feeble' or something like that, but Mom says she's just got a big head from traveling with us. Is it really true that mortals can't do that sort of stuff?"

"Oh."
Maybe she wasn't supposed to ask, or maybe Féa didn't really know but either way, she knew better than to push the matter. Féa's tone didn't indicate it was best not to ask again but Kasida just .. wouldn't. She perked up briefly when the mention of teleporting came up, though, and then her ears fell. That was very interesting.
"Me?" she started when asked if she could do anything, "No, we can't teleport or anything. I personally can barely even hunt for myself."

"Is all mortals like that, though? I mean, it'd be kinda hard to survive like that. No offence." She nuzzled her nose against the older lioness' jaw, attempting to show that she really hadn't meant any offense. It just sounded like a good question, in her head.
