Truth Seeker May Ok, I've had a lot of feedback about the term sheeple in my wake up threads as well. I am now working on version 3 of the intro page. I will take a kinder approach and wont use the words sheep or sheeple, I just hope it is as effective. Thank you all for your concern. I think "sheep" might be okay as long as it wasn't overused, but I'd still err on the side of kindness. It's easier to get someone to listen to your message when they don't perceive your message as being a personal attack.

The term 'sheep' is used in the common vernacular, I myself have used it many a time to refer to those who suffer from certain fashion trends - as such, I find it far less insulting than 'sheeple'.
Sheeple is patronizing and irritating.
In every case.
Personally I feel you would be far more successful in your attempts to 'wake' the sheep if you didn't so easily anger 'them' or 'us' as it were. I have seen many people throughout Gaia with signatures using the word 'sheeple' and frankly every time I see it I am tempted to start an anti-awakening movement.
'Sheep' is not quite so infuriating.

I think sheeple is cute. Why can't that be one of those derogatory words the collective takes back? Kinda like how black people in America call each other N***** and a lot of women in America call their friends B****.
I'm not that attached to the word myself. I actually forgot about it until I read this thread.
How about sleepers? Since they need to wake up? And the ones who are still asleep but behave as if they sense something is off dreamers? OHH! And since we KNOW something is off but we can't know EVERYTHING about it as lucid dreamers? =P Okay, I know I went on a tangent with that but I still like sleepers.

Since we're on the subject of neat nicknames, I don't think any of us could be called truly "awake" because there's still quite a lot we don't know.
If we're going to stick with the theme, we could refer to those like ourselves as "red pills", like in The Path of Neo.

Love it you two, all terms I've thought of before but never said or wrote. There are those who say they have taken the red pill, think they know a lot but are really just toying/playing/gargling with the knowledge they have, they haven't truly accepted the reality of this shitty world. They don't care about the future of mankind's world, only for their own current comfortable life. If one of those types of people read this, I ask of you to get on with it already and swallow the damn pill. All this s**t can really actually be stopped if you'd all help get our voices/opinions and new information heard by telling others to research these topics. If the population remains unaware we'll never get anything changed or fixed or updated or modified to our liking. Stop shrugging and saying oh well, even if it's true, no big deal, it's not gonna affect me for a really long time.. if ever! (feeling lucky~?)

Alex Jones has done a LOT of good for the truther community, but the simple fact that he has not been silenced should be a warning sign. Along with the fact that he refuses to talk about Israel. And please, never trust Glenn Beck. If I have to explain why, then you need to keep on researching, as you're not awake yet. Rules:1) Never forget that we were once sheep too, so try not to frown upon them! Even in your negative remarks, help guide them to the truth. Example: Enjoy your aspartame buddy. Someone's been drinking too much fluoride water. Don't forget to read the fine print before getting your H1N1 vaccine... you know what I mean? 2) Never give up on helping sheeple find the truth. Yes many are hopeless and it can be frustrating, so don't waste time on sheeple who are not ready to wake up, unless they mean something to you. 3) Temet nosce (teh-met naws-kay) Latin for Know thyself. Nosce te ipsum - Thine own self thou must know. Find your true self, your soul within your person, and listen to your conscience. It will tell you that because you have this knowledge, it is your duty to share it with everyone you can, as it has the power to save lives. 4) Never believe anything anyone tells you (even me!) without confirming it with your own research first. 5) Protect your identity. Sheeple are so hopelessly dependent on the system that they will fight to protect it. There could come a day when the sheep who don't need sheepdogs, come after us or hand us over to authorities. 6) Refrain from awakening really old minds that know nothing about the NWO. They have trouble letting go and most are happier being ignorant. Can you imagine living your whole life only to find out you've been fooled over and over again? But of course some information can be of value to them without them needing to know how far the rabbit hole really goes. I don't understand why people would want to pick up a weapon and fight- if they would then they would be no better... Hate cannot be solved by hate, only by love. Many people forget this. But then again it's so much easier to hate then to love don't you think? Nevertheless... The most important thing is working on yourself- we need to be spiritually free- we need to grow in all aspects. Giving in to hate would be the oposite, it would be like giving in to them.

Well, I think we should start by playing "Ghandi", at least until our numbers are much higher, or until we pretty much have no choice but to fight. Peace and Love can only get us so far, but maybe it's not such a bad idea to spread in these crazy times...

Peace and love is fine and dandy unless the other guys are shooting at you. I agree. Talk is great. But if someone is attacking you better believe you wouldnt just stand there. I personally prefer talk to fighting, but I still train with various weapons on a semi regular basis...still working on getting a firearm though.

These days I keep running into "researchers" ( read : idiots who've read ONE BOOK by Texe Marrs and start stockpiling ammo....) who think that the only way things are going to change is via The Glorious Second American Revolution. *Sigh* Violence solves nothing, it merely begets itself. This is not to say I will never use violence, mess with my loved ones and I'll give you a rather fascinating lesson in it's proper application, but all the jingoistic drum beating gets a little tiresome.
As yes, in response to a previous post in this thread (several, actually), it should be pretty obvious that I'm one of the coffee-swilling pretentious snobs who love the sound of his own voice. And I LOVE Ayn Rand books...they prop chairs up very nicely!
As for "neat nick's", sheep has an awful lot of Christian symbolism for most people and sleepers does carry a negative connotation. Red pills or Undergrounders works for me...but then, I'm biased.
