"Ti-rd," Paloma repeats, rubbing her eyes. She doesn't quite know what it means but it seems to convey her emotion pretty well. She yawns again and hugs him around the neck to keep her position.
[Sorry she's being kind of difficult. She hasn't learned to speak properly, really, and she's young besides.]

((LOL, that's ok. That's what a baby would do. biggrin ))
"Oh, tired?!" He cradled her and rocked a bit. At least that was what he thought you did to help a baby to sleep. He waited to see her fall totally asleep then he would walk her to the HQ. He didn't know what else to do with a rouge child.

Juuuust as Paloma's about to fall asleep, she sees something interesting. "Ooh!" she exclaims, pointing at a scurrying animal that climbs trees. She looks up at the adult-person and rocks back and forth, still pointing. Her energy's back.

And just like that, she was up again. Almost like she was never tired in the first place. "Whoa." He said in amazement. How did one jump from sleep to awake so fast? He looked to see where her attention was this time and nodded his head. No wonder other paes always wanted quiet when babies were sleeping.
"That's a squirrel. Can you say squ-ir-el?" He pronounced it slowly to help her.

"SKWERL!" exclaims Paloma happily, clapping her hands. "Skwerl skwerl skwerl," she chatters delightedly.
