"Ah? Well that's, um, interesting." Curious though he may have been initially, somehow from the way Eli spoke of the chart the cheetah Hyte thought it might be better if he didn't see it.

Just as he opened his mouth to say something else, there was another knock at the door. Who could it be this time? he wondered to himself as he stood up and went to answer it. As soon as he opened it, he immediately wished that he hadn't. "Hello, Mom, Terry."

"Hi, sweetie~!" Elf replied, immediately latching onto him as per the 'norm', unaware of their small audience for the time being. "How have you been doing~?"

"Ack! Mom," Seth replied, face growing instantly red. "Please let go."

Terry meanwhile had already slipped inside and zoomed over to Eli and Dacj. The cheetah bunny seemed to have a radar for finding new people. "Hi! I'm Terry!"

At hearing Terry introduce himself, Elf blinked and looked over towards the couches, finally noticing the other two there. "Ah, Seth, you didn't tell me you had company~" the black-haired woman said with a grin, finally releasing the cheetah Hyte and walking over towards the others as well. "Hello Eli, Dacj. What a pleasant surprise!"

"That's because you didn't give me a chance to," Seth murmured under his breath, shaking his head at his mother's odd, overly enthusiastic ways. "I suppose you both remember Mom. Although I don't think you've met Terry before..."

"Hullo Miss Elf," Eli said, with a wave. "And hello Terry." He'd seen the both of them many a time around Hytech (and Miss Elf was quite fond of his hair) though he didn't think he'd ever properly met the young bunny-cheetah. Her enthusiastic manner was calming--this was the sort of human parent he was used to seeing. Perhaps overeager at times, but altogether transparent in motive (exactly the opposite of his grandmother, he had just begun to learn).

"Hi, Terry,"
Dacj echoed, and waved with one of her human hands to Elf, still sitting on her tentacles. She suspected she'd have to have Eli leave the room before she left, the way she'd have to stretch after sitting on them all this time.

"And how's my favorite kuppy doing?" Elf asked with a fond smile, settling herself behind his seat to start playing fondly with his hair. The silkiness was just too much of a magnet for her to ever resist.

Couldn't she at least ask before she just starts running her fingers through someone's hair? Seth thought to himself with a sweatdrop, watching the scene unfold before him with another shake of his head. "Um, is there some particular reason you decided to just drop by? You usually call first..."

"Is it so wrong of me to want to visit my son?" she answered with a playful smile, still playing with Eli's hair. "And it's just an extra bonus that you happen to have some friends over too. heart "

"So your name is 'Dacj'?" the bunny boy asked, tilting his head slightly as he looked her over. "You have a lot of legs. Doesn't it hurt to sit on them like that?"

Eli basked in the attention, though he couldn't help but feel a little bashful for his own reaction when he could feel Seth's irritation buzzing at the edge of his consciousness. He was mostly too happy to care, though, people playing with his hair generally had that kind of an effect. "I'm doing--uh, all right I suppose, all things considered..." He couldn't exactly say 'well' with all that had been going on lately, it'd be a lie.

"Mmmhmm,"
the kraken girl said, smiling at the little bunny boy. It was clever, how he shared Seth's coloring, and she wondered who'd been responsible for that. "They get a little stiff, but they're fine." With a sudden twitch she ran her hands across the bottoms of her tentacles--and felt the intact sheath protectors. Good, she hadn't managed to tear through them. She had been a little worried about ruining the upholstery on the chair. "May I touch your ears?" she asked politely, curious as always to new fur to feel.

"Ah, that's good," Elf remarked with a soft smile, still fingering his golden locks gently. "I've been worried about you guys actually. I know it's got to be rough right now..."

Ah, so that was the real reason for her sudden visit. She must have heard the news through the grapevine. The cheetah Hyte padded back over to the couch and plopped down near Eli, his tail swishing lightly back and forth beside him. "Things have been better, yes, but it's fine. We'll find her." Somehow.

"Sure! ^_^" Terry exclaimed brightly, ears twitching lightly atop of his head. "And can I touch your tentacles? They look really cool~!"
PostPosted: Tue Jan 19, 2010 8:00 pm

"We will," Eli said, both echoing and affirming. No matter what was happening on Noe's side of things...he had a feeling his sister was more than capable of handling it. That was just part of her nature, as part of the kuppy trio--she was always capable, Zane was always a bit of an idiot (humorous, he supposed, would be the kinder thing to say), and Eli was always sparkly. Even if it had been ages since they'd been a proper trio...

Dacj, noting Eli wasn't looking, slid out one of her thicker tentacles, and drew back the protective sheath from the end. "Be careful now, there are sharp bits inside the suckers," she said, as quiet as she could manage. She didn't think Eli would take the news of it well. Then leaving Terry to his own tactile distraction, Dacj set about feeling up his ears, noting they were much softer in fur and much thinner in structure than the other animal ears she'd had the chance to inspect.

"I don't suppose I could lend any help?" the woman offered thoughtfully, her fingers continuing their course through golden locks. "I do a lot of dimensional travel between my different pets' home worlds, although I don't think I've ever seen any other Hytes in them... In any case, I'll certainly keep an eye out for her."

"Thanks," he replied with a faint smile and a shake of his head. Having actually visited many of the worlds that she spoke of once or twice, he doubted they were the sort of places that a criminal might run to in order to escape. Still, the more eyes out and about, the better. "So, is everything still chaos at home?"

"Oh, definitely," Elf replied with a nod. "Even more so since you've moved out. With no other adult humanoids about the place, it's rather difficult to break things up sometimes. Although I am expecting to get a another bunny boy sometime soon, so maybe he can help~"

"Another one?" the cheetah remarked in mild surprise. Hopefully this one wouldn't be as hyperactive as Terry then...

Terry giggled a little as Dacj felt his ears, but in return he was having quite a fun time with her tentacle. "That is so cool~" he said quietly (so as not to attract the other's attention) as he flipped over the appendage to better inspect the suckers and sharp bits. "I bet you could climb things really well with those."

"It would be appreciated," Eli said, before closing his eyes and letting the mother and son have their own conversation while he enjoyed being groomed.

"Do you know, I haven't even thought of that," Dacj said, quite surprised at the suggestion. "I don't know if the suction alone is enough to climb something like a wall. Trees, maybe, though I'd have to be careful of sharp bark." And probably have to dig bits of it out of her suckers afterward. Still, it was something to think about.

"Oh, don't be such a spoil sport," Elf remarked teasingly. "Damien won't be anything like Terry. He'll be much more mature."

Seth had to arch an eyebrow at this. "You're naming a rabbit guy Damien?"

"Yes, what's wrong with that?"

"Well, nothing really, but wasn't that the name of that demon child from that one movie? Just doesn't seem to fit."

Elf dismissed his comment with a 'psh' and a wave of her hand. "Please, Damien is a perfectly legitimate name. Besides, according to my research it simply means 'to tame'. Nothing bad about it."

"It could mean 'pink fluffly bunny' for all I care, but I'm still gunna think of The Omen every time I hear I hear that name. Just saying."

"Killjoy," she remarked with a pout before turning her attention back to the magical kuppy before her. "Eli~ You don't think Damien is a bad name for a rabbit, right?" She continued to play with his hair fondly as she asked this, a small smile playing on her lips.

"You could probably climb rocks too," Terry remarked with a nod, completely ignoring the other conversation that was going on. "You should try it out sometime and see what you can do."
PostPosted: Tue Jan 19, 2010 8:45 pm

"It reminds me of 'Endymion'," the kuppy said lazily. "Then again, I haven't ever seen 'The Omen'..."

Dacj readily ignored them as well, very intrigued at this novel use for her suckers. "Mm, as long as they have some texture..." She'd never even considered rock climbing as a hobby before. "I do find empirical experiments the most enlightening."

"It's settled then. His name shall be Damien," Elf said with a triumphant smile.

Seth simply rolled his eyes. "Whatever..." It wasn't like he particularly cared what she chose to name her latest pets, it had just struck him as a bit odd is all. Amber eyes slid over onto the two kids, lazily watching their conversation.

"Empirical?" Terry echoed with a look of confused wonder. "Is that another word for tentacles?"
PostPosted: Tue Jan 19, 2010 9:36 pm

"It means 'by experience', so in my case I suppose it does mean by tentacles," Dacj said, with a chuckle. She reached out again to pet his ears, paused with her arms extended, and then aimed for his torso, grabbing him up to sit on her lap--for better access, and also to keep him from running away at the next shiny thing he spotted. She ran fingers through his short hair with just as much curiosity as she'd given the fur. "Do the spots go all the way through?" she asked, trying to figure it out with completely mussing his hair.

It was probably wise of Dacj to secure the bunny boy in place as such, although the action did catch him a bit by surprise. His tail wiggled happily behind him as the kraken girl played with his hair. "Mhm~" he answered, rather content for the time being. "They sure do. Don't ask me how that works though, cause I don't have any idea."

Elf chose that moment to decide to speak up again. "So, would you all like me to make some lunch? I could probably whip up something with whatever's in the kitchen."
PostPosted: Thu Feb 25, 2010 6:48 pm

"I won't ask," Dacj said, with a smile. "I haven't any idea how to describe how I manage to keep track of all ten limbs either. Everyone's got their quirks." She looked over to Elf with another smile. "Lunch sounds good."

Eli opened one eye--his green one--and gave a little reluctant sigh. "Food probably is a good idea," he admitted, though he was loath to lose the attention. "I can help out, if you'd like, Miss Elf." He'd feel bad making a guest cook--completely forgetting he was technically a guest in the apartment as well.

"Aw, thank you Eli. Though I'd hate to make you get up," she said with a smile. "Especially since I've completely undone your braid by this point. Do you guys have any special requests?"

"Carrot cake?" Terry piped up, ears perking forward at the thought.

"Sorry, Terry, don't think we have the ingredients necessary for that," Seth added in. "Actually, I should probably do some grocery shopping after work tomorrow. I think we're starting to run out of the staples."

"That's fine; I'll just go see what there is and make some thing up from there," Elf remarked before walking off to the kitchen.

"... Should we be afraid?"

Seth gave a small chuckle at the question. "Probably." It wasn't that their mother was a bad cook (she was usually pretty decent actually), but when it came to 'inventing' new recipes, the results could be quite... interesting.
