For several years while I was growing up, my mother sent me to live with my Aunt just because of finances and living situations. I had to wear a dress and go to church twice on Sundays and once on Wednesday. I kind of liked Sunday school when I was younger just because they had games and stuff about this amazing story of a guy named Jesus (in my mind, at that age, a completely fictitious story). I hated the sermons and being stuck inside a stuffy room being preached at. The Craft, to me, is more than just a "religion" or "beliefs". It's a way of life. You apply your beliefs and practices to everything you do in the course of your day. I try to stop every once in a while throughout the day to think about how what I am doing right at that moment affects the world, those around me, and such. While I believe in the law of three/karma, I don't do good things so that I get good things times three. I do good things and help others because it makes ME feel good. While I am absolutely creeped out by bugs/insects/spiders, I love the beauty of nature. I love celebrating it and feeling the living energy in all things that come from it. I love that in the Craft, being unique (whether it is gay, straight, bi, transgendered, African American, Caucasian, Latino, Arabic, Chinese, you name it) is celebrated, not frowned upon. I love that we have many Goddesses and Gods, not ONE all-mighty entity trying to take care of everything. Wicca is the only thing that makes sense to me.

the craft means balance and meaning. ever since my dad died a few years ago I was looking for answers, what does it mean and so on. When I became "born again pagan" I felt purpose. I felt a connection with something I could not explain away. I felt peace. It means everything to me, including becoming a better more peaceful person.

To me the craft means living in harmony with all things, and working toward the good of all.
And like a previous poster, I don't do good things just to get good back. Actually now that I think about it the thought of it possibly causing some positive energy coming back my way doesn't cross my mind. I just love seeing the look on someone's face when you do something to make them happy. blaugh

And a bit warm and fuzzy too if it's one of my friends. But I never think about the possible outcome at the time, as far as karma goes. What was the last thing that made you feel like that?

When I created a healing spell for my grandmother a few weeks ago. I think I need to recharge it already because although she's better, she's still got a long way to go and she needs all the energy she can get.

May I ask what's wrong with her? She had a major operation to get rid of an annurism near her heart. If that had burst it would have killed her instantly. But all is good now, but at 82 recovery from anything is slow.

It was really scary when my grandmother found out she needed a stint put in because her arteries were 99% clogged. eek And she always eats so healthy, and exercises and everything. It was very surprising.
