Dormin was quite capable of picking up the boy's displeasure as well, turning his burning eyes down towards the questing youth, a tenfold look of disappointment gracing his already intimidating features. If this boy wanted some sort of great divine intervention, then...
"Unless thou wouldst prefer for us to make thy quest bare more difficulties?" he asked, his voice rumbling even more now through the rock he sat upon, the reverberation through his large frame almost seeming to amplify the sound into making it shake.
Was he attempting to be threatening? Probably not as much as he was trying to prove that he was as serious as a case of Ebola.

Resisting the strong urge to cower under the fiery gaze of the god, he looked up with wide eyes and couldn't help but lean back a bit. OK, so he should have realized being grumpy probably wasn't exactly the best way to respond to advice from a god.
"No, that's OK, really," he said, "Thank you."
Would it be inappropriate to run off now?

"When the rain clears, look again and thou shall see it." he added as a sort of further clarification of his words, perhaps for the benefit of the youth he'd just scared into some sort of submission, before sighing, shifting his shoulders, and settling again, his wings twitching ever so slightly as he did this.
He must have had some pretty good muscle control going on at the very least.
"For now, we shalt wait with thee."
Yeah.

It wasn't the easy answer he had hoped for but even Matone had to admit it was something, especially when he had nothing but frustration before. Whether or not he figured the god was right, it was a comforting thought. Nevermind he had had an unappealing alternative offered to him just a moment ago.
"OK," he said, sighing and wiggling to make himself comfortable. Hopefully the rain couldn't go on forever.
"Thanks."
