'You hope?' Vatsa asked, a gleam in his eyes and a smile on his lips. She was probably being polite and friendly, as she had been during their entire conversation, but it was a nice idle thought to think she might actually want him to stick around.

'Would you like to travel?' he asked, giving her a searching look. She looked capable enough, had a sensible head on her shoulders, and would make (he thought) a fine travelling companion for anyone.

'Oh..' Vatsa fell quiet, digesting all that she'd said. Not a unicorn because of his tail? How peculiar that was. He'd never come across prejudice like it, and hadn't even thought he was anything but a unicorn; his mother had never said a thing that would make him believe otherwise.

'Well, I can't change how he feels, or anyone for that matter.' he finally replied, grinning slightly.
'You like me right?'

The mare studied the violet male before her while she gave a soft chuckle. "Well of course I do! There aren't many who travel my way, and unfortunately, those that do too often are on their way again." The female gave a small pout and a flick of her tail as she added, "I don't know what I do to drive them away. I try to be charming, witty and a good hostess but alas. . . come the end of the day, it's never much to keep them here for long." There was truth to her words and the small sigh that escaped her maw proved such a thing to be true. How many of her dearest filly-hood friends had she lost? How many acquaintances met her, charmed her, and then continued on their way?

It wasn't fair that those she met always had better places to be, or soon met prettier mares or friendlier mares or . . . just others in general that were 'better' than she. Zara honestly hadn't a clue why she just couldn't keep others in her life. . . . Vatsa, she was certain, would wind up the same. He might humor her for a day or two but in the end he'd disappear and continue on . . .

Ah, but where were her manners! Her smile brightened and she added, "But I am glad for whatever time I'm graced with companionship. It's nice to add a little flavor and break up the monotony of my homelands." Giving her tail a slight flick, her ears pricked as he questioned her desire to travel.

"Would I? Well. . . . yes, actually. I did a little with my mother when very young, but haven't had a chance to explore the world proper. My mother, Jaslyn, used to travel the world as a gypsy and I've heard such great stories and tales it would be wonderful t experience them. Unfortunately, my parents are frazzled enough at the disappearance of my sister Miki. . . I'd hate to add further worry and concern while she's gone. But someday, of course. . ." And that was that.

Zara was glad that the violet stallion seemed to take her father's prejudice all in stride. It was unfortunate but true - there was nothing to be done with his beliefs and Zara could only hope that he might someday see the err of his ways. She adored Baldev and tried to be a good daughter, but his ways had often left her lonely and betrayed, especially when he ran off non-unicorn friends.

He was not easy to live with. . . . but both Baldev, Jaslyn and her sisters were the only family and friends she'd ever had. She was strong, but she wasn't so strong as to take on the world completely alone. "Unfortunately you're right, no one can and I doubt he ever will change. But you're a perfectly charming stallion and seem to be a gentleman. I like you just fine, even if my father judges you over a silly thing like a tail."

'I don't mind sticking around when there's a lovely inducement.'

Was he flirting? Yeah, he probably was, and he smiled, topping it off with a cheeky wink at the mare. She was after all, very pretty, and interesting to talk to, there was a good head on her shapely shoulders.

'Oh, your sister has gone travelling? I know you want to make things better for them, to be a source of comfort, but what about what you want?' he edged closer again, catching her eye.

'I'm glad you like me, I like you Zara, I'd love for you to come with me when I do head off again.' he pushed out his bottom lip, trying to make a pouty face, something she couldn't resist! He knew that she was a very filial mare, and it was a credit, but she had expressed an interest to see the world, and he would love to make that happen.

Zara listened to the violet stallion before her. She wasn't so naive to miss his flirtation though she was rather surprised. Oh, she knew she was beautiful without a doubt but she never seemed to catch ones attention for long.

While Vatsa might think he was on the right path, and while even Zara found him entertaining and delightful, she wasn't going to fall for such tricks so easily. Her father had been an absolute rake before meeting and falling for her mother. Unfortunately, Zara understood that many a stallion could be a smooth talker with little else behind it.

Still, it didn't mean she couldn't have a little fun. Upon his question about her sister, the pink mare gave a soft sight. "I suppose you could call it travelling. She left many months previous after swooning over some Prince of the Sea. Father, of course, didn't approve of her gallivanting about with some tainted unicorn but Miki didn't listen. She's been gone since, disappeared without so much as a bon voyage or farewell." She shrugged her shoulders and heaved a sigh. While she had been bold and carefree as a filly, the mare had grown up considerably and now felt as if she were the more responsible one between her siblings. She helped keep her shy sister at ease, and waited for Miki to return.

Unfortunately, she doubted the latter would ever happen at this rate. To just take off and leave without good warning and a promise to return . . .well that just wouldn't do. As Vatsa asked about her wants and wishes, Zara's ears pricked as she stared at him.

What did she want. . . ? Honestly the young mare hadn't a clue. While younger she had a dream of being swept off her hooves in some cliche romance, of living with her family and herd and making her parents proud. But those dreams seemed farther and farther away. . . "You want me to go with you?" She questioned, eyes going round for a moment. Part of her objected . . they were both strangers, how could she just go running off with him?

He seemed gentlemanly enough and she was enjoying herself but . . . Chuckling lightly she gave a little shake of her head. "As charming an idea as that might be, I'd have to at least inform my family of my whereabouts. While I won't request permission, per say, as I am an adult thank you very much. . . I don't want to do what my sister did and cause more undue stress and worry on their shoulders." She might not always agree with her father, but she respected and loved them enough to not want to do so much wrong.

They were good soquili and Miki had caused more than enough trouble. The adventurer within Zara desperately did want to go . . . no matter how far, she could always come back home and she would. Somehow though, she doubted her parents would fully approve. "Otherwise, assuming you haven't changed your mind by such a time. . . . I think I'd rather love to go!" She'd at least get to further her friendship with Vatsa and sedate the wandering heart within her. For now.

Vatsa might have been flirtatious, with pretty much every mare that he met, but that was sort of his ground state. He was actually fairly romantic, and had been disappointed when the relationship he thought he'd found had faltered. Though of course Zara wasn't to know that, only having seen his tactile, flirty side so far.

He didn't see anything too wrong with following your heart, but he supposed if it left those closest to you worried and wondering what had happened and where you had gone that it wasn't all good. Had he and Tuli worked out, he would have returned home, shown her off to his mother and father..well, maybe his father at first.

'Yes.' he replied, giving a firm nod with his head. They were almost strangers it was true, but what better way to get to know someone? A brief encounter here and there was nothing compared to many hours in each other's company, and he knew she really did want to travel.

'Sure, whatever you need to do.' he said with a smile.

((So . . .did we want to start another RP with them adventuring after this one wraps or . . .? ))

Her first real adventure, with a stranger at that! Already Zara's imagination began to get ahead of itself - just what sort of things might they find? Where would they travel, what treasure was to be had, stories to be told? Would they meet some terrible and twisted fate and realize the melancholy of their ways? Or was there happiness and goodness out on the horizon?

Her mother had woven many a tale during the pink unicorn's lifetime. Some of the stories ended in heartache and grief, while others had glamorous endings Zara could never imagine! And yet, here before her was a handsome stranger . . . a unicorn at that, so her parents might partially approve . . . and a new story to be written.

Her story.

Oh, Miki would be so delighted! The dancer, finally getting to shine in the spotlight, if even for a moment. "Well then, my good sir Vatsa," she added with small chuckle. "When would you wish for this adventure to begin? I'll need at a least a day, the rest of tonight and perhaps tomorrow, to settle my families nerves. My father in particular," she added with a small frown.

Ooooh, she really wasn't looking forward to his reaction. But she'd think of some way to go, no matter what. She was an adult, thankyouverymuch, and she would not miss out on this new adventure! "But anytime after that I'll be set, if you don't mind lingering for another day. We could meet back here, if you wish, and go from there."

(( Sorry for the long delay in replying, we can start a new one =))

'Whenever you're ready to go is fine with me.' Vatsa said. He wanted her to be totally comfortable when travelling, it would mean she would enjoy herself more rather than always thinking about her parents, feeling guilty in the back of her mind.

'I can just amuse myself in the general area until you are ready to leave. I won't go far, and I'll be easy to find when you are all set.' he leaned over and gave Zara a soft nudge with his nose.

'Just don't take very long..or I'll have to wait longer.' he joked, knowing that realistically if he had to he wait quite a while for her. Vatsa wanted to leave here with a pretty and amiable travelling companion.
