Astor smiled again, "Well it seems that you need to lay low for a little while at least." He motioned for her to follow, walked several feet down the road and turned down an alley.

"My name is Astor, and of course I know who the agents are. The thing is that in a town like this you could have been running from all sorts of things. I admit that since you are a creature it makes sense that it would be an agent, and since that is the case they probably aren't too far behind us so unless you enjoy violence I strongly suggest that we move." He calmly explained, "I'll tell you more once we're in a safer location." That feeling, the feeling of iminent danger, the feeling of the pursued, was becoming stronger and stronger. Almost every instinct gained from hundreds of years of survival screamed at him to run, but he knew that running would only spur an agent into action just as it was with any predator.

"Holy s**t Jesus!" Astor yelped. He pressed himself face first against the wall with his hands up, "Please don't shoot! Please, I have nothing to do with that person I just met her. I took her back here cause I was gonna rob her. Come on man don't shoot!" A decent facade, Astor mused to himself wimpering quietly against the wall. He had positioned his arms above his head in such a way so that he could still see the agent and Lehr. "Listen girl don't fight her you'll just get us both hurt! Back up against the wall, just do what she says!" Astor took a deep breath and prepared for his assault. Just a few feet closer, he thought, just a few more feet.

"Let me go please? I'm not involved in any of this. I'm not even a creature man!" Astor whined, slowly edging along the wall towards the end of the alley. "I haven't done anything wrong just let me go please!" The agent was about a foot and a half behind him to his left. He quickly turned and struck her hand, hard. The gun clattered to the ground as Astor's foot connected with the back of the agents knees. He swung around behind her and forced her arms together behind her back, about half of the ball bearings in his pouch liquified, surrounded the woman's wrists and then solidified. The other half formed a spike that he drove through the concrete and then connected to the makeshift handcuffs. Snatching up the gun he said, "Let's go," as he ran towards the other end of the alley.

Astor carefully led Lehr through a long series of small side streets and back alleys, eventually leading to the edge of town. "We're going someplace safe Lehr, it's a little ways out in the country-side so just stay patient and we can talk once we get there." He followed an old hiking trail for about a mile and then seemingly at random turned off the trail following his memory towards the cave that he knew was not far away. Astor maintained a few hiding places like this one although this one was the most remote, and in his mind the safest. He had discoved this place when he had first returned to San Francisco, before establishing his safe havens inside the city.

Lehr followed closely behind Astor. With him leading her through the middle of nowhere the last thing she needed was to get lost. Not to mention she'd hidden the things she'd just stolen from the grocery. All her food, cloths, and money was in that pack. She'd have to get him to lead her out of this mess sometime in the next day or so. She'd just been chased by two agents after taking it and there was no way she was letting it go that easily. She'd worked too hard for it. Lehr also couldn't help thinking about Sharron. There had been a time when she'd known Sharron on a more personal level. Sharron Harris had been her best friend all throughout middle school and High School. That was before she'd gotten all crazed about Creatures. "Hey Sharron's gonna be able to get out of that right?" She asked him ash she tripped slightly over a tree root. Luckily she didnt fall but it made her step more carefully.

Lehr was relieved to hear that Sharron would be alright. Even with their recent history Lehr stills felt that Sharron was her friend. They'd been so close. Lehr sighed and pulled herself over the same log he had. She wasn't quite sure what to think. Lehr didn't often trust other people, even creatures. She'd been screwed over far to many times. "Well when we go back I can show you the den. It the safest place in the city for creatures. I was actually looting places to restock our food when I ran into agent, before I teleported into that hard ware store." Luckily she'd stashed the stuff where Raven would find it.
