Tariel audibly gasped, pulling her hands to her mouth to quell the sound. That child, just ... well, it looked like she melted.
"Sera?" She reached out, but quickly withdrew her hand. She didn't know what she'd touch if she touched the liquid that the child turned in to. She didn't want to be accused of any 'bad-touch'.
"Are you alright?" So much for a child's imaginary game. Now she understood what the girl meant by finding her arms.
By this time, Tariel was on her hands and knees looking over the puddle. Her eyes searching for signs the girl was okay. "Sera?"

Was the puddle giggling? No, that was Sera. "I'm okay~" The giggling continued. The Puddle!Pae was pleased she had managed to be a puddle again. Returning to solid form was an entirely different story..
"I told you I turn into puddles~" The child was grinning, not that anyone could see. She bubbled a bit, warming the cool waters of her body in the sun only to wince. It was dry.. Maybe this was the wrong time of day to practice her power? Oh well, she still got to show the pretty lady that she was special too~

She can talk, while a puddle? Tariel was mortified, but at the same time, morbidly curious about this child's ability. Could all glass-winged Pae'il do that? No one had told her such information, so she couldn't be certain.
Sera seemed to be giggling, too. She was having fun? So maybe this wasn't as dire as it appeared.
"Sera, how do you do that? Can you turn back?"

"I think I can turn back.." She frowned to herself, thinking about how she did it the last time she was like this.. It was.. Like feeling solid again..
The child tried the same trick Tariel had told her about earlier.. Thinking of her home, the first time they had dinner.. Finally thinking about being herself again.. That should work.
If the naiad queen was watching, she would have seen a slowly forming pae, starting from the feet and slowly making a vague shape of her body. Something was missing, and there was no detail yet, but there it was. A child returning from puddle.
"Owie.. Something hurts.." Sera winced again, rubbing her back as she formed a bit. She was missing her wings. with a gasp, she looked around for the bit of her body that was left on the ground.

Tariel watched in awe as the child reshaped herself. It was truly an interesting sight to behold, but still scary all the same. This was just a child performing these feats. Tariel did not want to think about the potential an ability like this could have on an adult.
"Are you alright?" She heard Sera's cries. Her arms seemed to be where they should be, was something else missing? "Are you able to return to normal?"
Tariel glanced around the sand, trying to see if she spotted any of the uniquely colored liquid that is Sera as a puddle. She didn't see anything, just the waves sliding up the sand before retreating back to the lake. That made Tariel wonder something ...
"Sera, what happens if you, uhm, mix, with water?"

The girl got up, frantic. Her wings were special to her, if she'd lost them in the water.. Oh gods knew what she would do!
"I have to find them in the water.. If they floated out to the sea.. I don't know what I can do.." She sniffled a bit, still searching for the unique puddle that would mean her wings were waiting for her to claim them again.

Tariel didn't know how to respond to the child. She didn't have wings, so didn't know how important they were, but she figured they were likely as important her fins were to her. What would she do if she lost them?
"I'll help you look, but I don't know what else to do. Can you somehow summon them to you, or can you feel where they might be?"
She hoped as hard as Sera they didn't go out into the water. She had a bad feeling that was a bad thing for this girl, if she mixed with other water.

Sera closed her eyes, as tight as she could, trying to find the puddle that was her wings.. "Nothing.." She groaned, only to blink, looking at the water under Queen Tariel. "You're sitting on them?" Sera sounded confused, but it wasn't impossible for water to go all over the place.
That's when she noticed that Tariel was right next to the waters of the beach. Her wings were so close to slipping away into the sea forever! The child's eyes grew wide, seeing the distinct color of her own body colors mixing with the clear water of the ocean.. "Excuse me!" She blushed, placing a finger into the growing water under the queen.
After a bit of concentration, her wings began to form, and the pained expression on the child's face slipped away into a relaxed and even calm face.

Tariel's eyes grew wide for a moment and she scuttled sideways to move from the spot on the ground where the child's wings lay. She was a little embarrassed that she was sitting on them.
She felt so relieved to see that the child wasn't going to suffer, that she clasped her hands to her chest and grinned. "I'm glad they didn't wash out to sea. Does it hurt at all now?"

Sera blinked, fluttering her wings a bit, her bum lifting into the air. "Nope, all feels fine now~" The child smiled. She felt so much better now that she was entirely attached to herself.
"Thank you for finding them for me!" The fae hugged Queen Tariel, very thankful. Even if Tariel hadn't noticed the wings under her bum, Sera thought all the credit belong to the older lady for keeping them safe.
