Wrath snorts at the bronze tailing her. Clearly another tactic would need to be employed.
She half-folds one wing to make her tightest turn yet, diving at the same time, to dart at a very steep angle underneath the cluster of males, gaining speed enough that another layer of eyelids closes against the force of the wind.
When she feels she's gone far enough, she levels out and begins to regain her height glancing back to make sure none of them were sneaking on her from above.

Nakoreth watches her dive, and instead of diving to follow, begins following her in the direction she's taken, maintaining a height advantage that he likes somewhat better than the one he had before...
Of course, the others are still closer to her...

Turned and flew up, up, as the bright gold ducked away. He soared over the others as she flew under - fools, just sitting there like that, did they think they'd catch the queen being so lazy? - and put on a burst of speed, fighting to reach the other side before her.
He dove down a little, knowing she'd have to go all the way under, knowing she wouldn't fly up in the middle of the dragons, one would surely catch her... Sharp eyes looked all around. He couldn't see her beneath the flashing bronzes, and with the beautifully tight turns of hers, she may simply dart out the side. She was flying low, he knew, and waited for her to fly up again, at the other side of the cluster of dragons.

((Stupid internet died...))
Pericolath dipped down somewhat, but he remained above the gold. It appeared that the other two were doing the same thing. They could keep her from flying higher. However, Peri decided to be different and dove on downwards, pulling up underneith the gold. Now, they had her restricted to a relative height. Would she move up towards the other bronze and the brown, or try to get past him?

Still looking up, Wrath sees only two contenders above... wasn't there another? Perhaps he has dropped out. She glances down to taunt his retreat and sees him below her.
Sideslipping, she makes a turn that loses her some height, but hopefully she's traded it for enough speed to escape the nearby bronze...

Nadrath dives, seeing the move. Tucking his wings in, he drops like a stone, spreading them wide as he comes closer to the prize. That other tried to take her! He bugled loudly, streaking after her, a length above her.
A powerful beat of his wings and he drops a little more, an eighth of a length closer to the object of his desire.

Pericolath, anticipating movement from Wrath as she realized that she was somewhat trapped, darted off after the gold. Wings beat rapidly as the bronze acted upon all his strength and speed in an attempt to catch the gold. He could see another streaking downwards towards her and hissed. This was his queen. That other bronze would not take her!

Nakoreth sees a bronze that sneakily has gotten close to Wrath. Perhaps too close! Seeing his chance slipping away, he dives toward her just instants before she turns to make her escape from that bronze.
Belatedly, he attempts to correct his course, but he's moving too fast to change his direction easily. He slows, but has lost too much height to get close enough in time, he doesn't have a chance now, unless her escape from the other bronze is successful.
He attempts to recover from his blunder, keeping his eyes fixed on her.

Somehow, the two bronzes have manuevered themselves to block her off! Bugling at them in anger at their treachery, she tries escaping them by diving past the lower one. He might not be able to catch her if she can move fast enough...

Nadrath knew what she was going to do, there was only one thing she could do. He dove to meet her, tucking in his wings again to almost freefall.

Performing a rather neat twist, Pericolath turned over onto his back as he followed Wrath. As the manuever cost him some speed, his head was at the gold's stomach. Beating his wings, he hoped to either catch up with the gold quickly or foul her wings with his to slow her. She still had a chance of escape, but if she managed to get away from him, would she be able to go far before the other two caught up with her?

Wrath flinches as a wingtip brushes that of one of the bronzes, he's much too close. She hisses at him and tries to create more distance between them, but at her current angle she can really only keep going more-or-less straight down, and if she leveled out too much, she'd be wide open to an attack from above... she hisses again out of frustration, and continues her downward plunge. Perhaps if she slows a bit, he'll overshoot her and she can try something else...

With two bronzes so close to her, Nakoreth cannot see any way of Wrath's escaping them. He follows anyways, still hopeful. She would be disappointed in him if he gave up just because the situation looked hopeless...

Nadrath catches himself with his wings mid-fall, now half a length above hi shining queen. Yes, his... but no! The other... the one below her. He was too close! He hissed at him, beating his wings to pull himself closer to the one he wanted, backwinging after each beat for easy slowing... he reached for her, almost there...

Ah, she was slowing... Pericolath pulled up even with Wrath, still upon his back. Now! With all four claws, the bronze grabbed at the gold. Wings were held steady as he made his move, holding his body steady as he grabbed for the gold.
