Carefully, the dark haired girl tucked her hood over her head in preparation of the hail to come. At least her jacket was padded.
She just had to keep reminding herself of this.
As if she had no choice in the matter, the dark-haired girl nodded her head at the curly-haired girl's proclamation. She didn't comment. When Alessa opened the door, Yvette did something that was probably unexpected. Before starting off in a mild dash (since Yvette was not exactly the athletic type), she reached in and grabbed a hold of the brunette's hand. She didn't explain why she did this, and her grip was gentle, but firm. With the girl's hand in her own, she began to lead the way.
Yvette might not have been the fastest, but she was extremely considerate. She tried to weave around any notable ice-slicked areas so neither one of them would slip and kept at a slow enough pace so that her current companion wouldn't accidentally slide somewhere she probably didn't want to go. Yvette was trying to be helpful again, but in all honesty, she was probably prolonging the whole hail-ordeal.
At least she was trying.

What Alessa had planned was to hold the door for Yvette, then run right after she went out. When she instead took her hand and led her outside, she couldn’t really react or protest, and followed almost effortlessly, thanks to her jogging training. She only let out a faint “eep!” when both of them were hit by the hail upon getting out. There was no way she could have predicted the timid stitcher's move.
The slalom between the puddles was clumsy and slow, as she actually didn’t have any difficulty to keep her pace, but she was grateful for such good intentions. They reached eventually the busless bus stop with some hesitation, then Alessa let go of the older schoolgirl. “… thank you”, she panted, “I’ll be going that way now. Thanks! See you!” She breathed deeply, then waved and followed her now usual path back home, trotting, keeping her head down.
5 minutes after her departure, there was a second, violent hail fall. She really needed that damn umbrella.

Not wanting to keep Alessa too long with goodbyes, Yvette simply waved her hand at the pseudo-blind girl. She didn't squeak out a word and simply stood there to wait for the bus. It maybe took 2 minutes for the bus to arrive, but it was perhaps one of the longest two minutes she had ever experienced. She couldn't call it the longest two minutes, because she was certain there were other instances that probably felt even longer.
Pushing such thoughts out of her head, she quickly packed herself into the bus, ever grateful for the shelter from the weather. However, on the ride home, her thoughts were still with Alessa.
