~Latonia de la Courtel~ Ancorath: *Caught between wanting respect and laughing as she mocked him and every other citizen of Heaven, he just huffed in amusment and shook his head. What an odd female.* "I suppose if any had the ability to kill me, it would have been they... Luckily enough Angels are bound by their very nature not to take life, unless that is their calling and soul purpose... And so they could not slay me, merely lock me away... I do not believe there were ten paces, the match was hardly even afterall..." No point in telling her how little he normally spoke...

DarkenWoodWolf Xithis: *snickers* You are telling me that all you angels aren't about love and fairness? *She raises an eyebrow in disbelief* If you are telling me that they didn't give you every chance imaginable to, uh, 'repent', I'm gonna have to call you a liar. I doubt everything that I have heard about Angels is wrong. *She paused, considering* You say that Angels are bound by their nature, but it doesn't sound like you mean you.

~Latonia de la Courtel~ Ancorath: *He lost it, at that, he had to laugh, and a good one it was too.* Repent? My dear, were you not listening? To their knowledge -because they did not know what I was up to- I never did anything wrong.. Their decision to imprison me was to see to it that I never got the opportunity to act on my 'naturally wicked' nature... *he snorts* As for the rest... As an angel, I was forbidden from killing, yes.. As I am not one of the Soul Harvesters, those whom they call the Dark Ones... However.. *He gave a wicked smile.* That does not stop a Nightmare from killing.. Nor does it stop a Nightmare from convincing one to kill oneself... *a tilt of his head accompanied a low murmur* However... I am no longer an Angel... No longer bound by such foolish ideals and rules...

DarkenWoodWolf Xithis: *She tries hard to not be offended at being laughing, and simply enjoyed the sound* So, because you were a naughty little angel, they locked you up? That sounds... not like an Angel. You would think that they would have more tolerance and understanding, be willing to give you a chance. Paranoid Angels... Tsk, what is the world coming too? *She stretched her wing back out to the fullest extent, losing a feather in the process* So, now that you are Fallen, you can do whatever you please? Kill whomever you please, by means magical or mundane? *Oh goodie, her voice didn't waver on the work 'kill'.*

~Latonia de la Courtel~ Ancorath: *Not bothering to feign innocence, he just settled for sighing heavily and hanging his head as he curled his tail around himself* Sad, isn't it? Not very understanding of them with their little halos and wings the colors of every flower ever seen... *he snorted, watching the feather fall with interest* And yes, more or less, now that I am out of their glorious prison... I am free to kill, maim and torture to my hearts content.. With or without my little pets.... *he grinned* Keep it in mind, won't you? Granted, death in sleep is usually painless, but it doesn't have to be...

DarkenWoodWolf Xithis: *raises an eyebrow mockingly to hide the thrill of fear at something she wouldn't be able to fight anyway. She had to sleep sometime* And here I thought all angel's wings were white. *Great. Her voice didn't shake at all. She felt the gears shift in her head, placing him in this category and that one, sorting though the information that he had fed her* Ah, Little King, let's not resort to such petty means of conversation. I was having such a good time. *A small, wicked grin took form* And besides, not even you could kill me that way. Not yet. *That didn't mean he couldn't hurt her and make her life hell, but she'd live through it*

~Latonia de la Courtel~ Ancorath: *Being the King of Nightmares was playing hell on his ability to feign innocence or injury, though he tried his best to project the image of a lion greatly wronged.* Lady Xithis! You give me far too little credit, and less even to yourself... Misunderstanding me like that! I was merely insinuating another method with which my 'favor' to you could be repaid.. Surely at some point you will have enemies? *he grinned* Keep it in mind...

DarkenWoodWolf Xithis: *frowns deeply inside her head, while keeping her smile. How still to let such words make her come close to revealing one of her secrets? However, she raised an eyebrow at the image he was presenting* At some point everyone had enemies. *Agrees with a nod before stepping closer and dropping her voice* And I'm better at that particular act, King.

~Latonia de la Courtel~ Ancorath: *smirking, he feigned confusion* Better at making enemies? Or misunderstanding lion's statement? Tsk, tsk, my lady.. I suppose you mean the first.. For it could be argued the first is a strength and the second a weakness.. And you do not seem the type to reveal weakness...

DarkenWoodWolf Xithis: *rolls her eyes and huffs* Don't play innocent with me, King. I haven't the slightest reason to believe you and, as I said, I am better at it. *sticks her tongue out at him childishly* And, while I am good at making enemies and making lions misunderstand me, neither is a strength or weakness. At least, I don't think so. My stenghths lay elsewhere. As do my weakness, but I'm not gonna tell you those either.

For a few moments he merely considered her, fighting the urge to smile. Him, play innocent? Well, perhaps a little.. But when you weren't, pretending was all you had, wasn't it? And she was good, he'd give her that much... But not more, not yet. Ancorath gave a lazy stretch, smirking faintly at her. An interesting bundle of contradictions... She could be childish, playful, a mastermind, and even humorous... And playing word games with her was just too enjoyable. "You're not going to tell me your strengths or your weaknesses?" He questioned, tilting his head faintly. "Hmm, perhaps you'll reconsider at some point. After all, I might decide you would be useful to me.." Well, he already had, it was just a matter of in which capacity he'd request her 'special touch', as it were... Ancorath had plans in this land, and plenty of them... And strong allies were a must, for such things.

"And why should I reconsider?" Xithis leaned down on her front paws, stretching. She still couldn't get enough of actually being able to affect the world, even if it was something so simple as a stretch. "I'll be done with you as soon as you are no longer indebted to me, love. Unless you want to borrow another favor or two." Her mouth lolled open in a grin. Ancorath was, without a doubt, one of the most interesting lions that she had met so far. Charming and amusing without being completely overbearing. Well, yet. These little meetings only offered slight insight into the lion before her, and it really wasn't enough. Knowing more about him might be useful in the times to come. Maybe she could send Sala on that errand, take another favor back. "I already have been useful to you." She snorted softly and straightened.

He had to laugh at that. Why should she reconsider? Oh, it was easier not to reply to that, to leave her to wondering. And he knew she would... It would cross her mind at some point, she was too intelligent to just let something like that go.. She liked the game too much for such an interesting little move to be left alone... "So you say now." He shrugged. "Somehow I doubt you'll drop me so easily.. Though perhaps I'll borrow an actually useful favor or two just to ensure that actually happens." A little dig, not like he could resist it. "After all, I could have found them easily enough... You just did it in a moment what would have taken me a day. Hardly impressive..." He rolled his eyes. "I do hope you're not discrediting yourself by saying that's your best.. Or I really will have to find someone new to play with."

Xithis frowned, considering him. He was confident, overly so. Xi wondered if he knew what his weakness were, and how to compensate for them. Of course he must but did he know them all? Was there something there that she could exploit? Maybe, possibly. So, he was right about one thing. She wasn't going to drop him just yet. The wind whipped her scarf around her as she thought about her own for a moment or two. Then she stiffened because she was expected to, at the dig. She was supposed to get angry, or upset, or something. Show some sign that he was affecting her. "Well, it's not my problem if you want to give out your favors for nothing, stupid." She half growled, pulling her one wing close and glaring at him, though in her mind, she was a calm as ever. "You should stop reminding me that I took advantage of you so easily. Might make me try again." She snorted. "As if anyone on this plane has see my best. Don't flatter yourself."

Ancorath was beginning to think it was a very good thing the pair of them were hard to kill. And naturally he had sound reasoning behind this, however made he might be. And make no mistake, he was quite mad. But that was neither here nor there. No, currently, here, he was pleased they were both such sturdy creatures, because -he had a feeling- if they continued to run into each other, they would need their thick hides and unyielding spirits. That was of course if they didn't manage to make each other laugh to death.. Or it didn't break out into an all-out brawl. "Oh it is not for nothing." He smiled widely. "You think on too small of a scale for that calculating mind, Lady Xithis. But that is your own business, and I certainly wouldn't dream of advising you differently. After all, where would my amusement be then? No, I think I shall just let you do as you will, and watch.. And when you have need of me." He lifted a wing-marked shoulder. "I shall grant you the one boon I promised, and then what will be, will be..." A flash of white teeth and a spark in ink-black eyes. "Careful you do not encounter any of my pets... They'll be wandering soon enough, and I'd hate for that pretty hide to be scarred." Xithis was strong enough to chase off a nightmare, of that he had no doubt. But everyone had their personal nightmares, their demons... And those were drawn to their maker just as surely as lightning bolted to earth.
