Harpy Event: Part 1
pages 13 & 14

Arafel
Arafel sighed, standing outside the spire.. atleast it was more off to the side. she sighed, leaning against the stones that made it... hn, to climb up the side would prove to be quite a pain. Oh well, what can you do?
Miroku had come with her.. but Colette had stayed home to help take care of Yuki's weak state. Fetch him things and whatnot while he was bed ridden.
She glanced at her pocket watch, hm.. about time for everyone to be showing up. Good.. it was cold out here. She gave a whine and shivered, hugging her arms.

Miroku sighed, sitting on his rear, tail sliding back and forth idley. Hm.. hopefull ysome women would show up soon.

Kirea Mitsu
Also examining a pocket watch, Keiko came padding up, coat wrapped tightly around her against the cold. She raised a hand in greeting to Arafel, snapping the watch shut and returning it to her pocket, and slipping her hands in as well. "Hi," She said quietly, going to stand by the wall with them.

[Tree]
Tree walked over to the spire with Callista and Selina. "Hi." She greeted Arafel with a big smile.
Callista bounced on her heels excitedly. "Hi Miss Arafel!" She said happily. "This is going to be really fun."
Selina rested her hand on Callista's shoulder. She had come along to keep an eye on Callista while Tree did... well whatever these people where going to do. "Greetings," She said nodding politely.

Satin Regret
Niko's air puffs out in clouds of white as she trots up to Arafel, giving a friendly grin and wave. She had forced Aqua to stay home, since she figured she'd probably scare away the harpies and anything else up in the spire. Sere downright refused to go chasing after a bunch of filthy bird-people, but Shizuko asked to come, and he could be quiet when he needed to, so he was walking after his mom.

Zuko coughs, rubbing his arms and furling his wings around his shoulders to keep the warmth he had close as he shoves his hands in his pockets, wrapping his tail around his waist while being careful to not make the spikes catch on anything.

SillyAngelKitty
Silly landed next to the others then smiled. "Good evening. Is this the correct place and am I late?"

Silvia Angelia
Silvia walks up to Arafel with a grin on her face. "Having problems? Maybe I could help. . ." She peered behind her to see if Avani was still with her. She had been really reluctant to come, saying that how could bird people be civilized?

She sighs, and takes Avani's hand in hers. Avani looks up, and sees her aunt and somebody else she hasn't seen before standing next to her. She shuffles around a bit, so she's a little bit behind her mom's legs.

Madness_insanity
Mad came walking toward the group, "I know I should have worn my jacket" she mumbled to herself and sped up a bit. She felt a bit ackward, having no companion but that was what she was here for. She came to a stop infront of them and waved " hey guys."

[Tree]
"Hi!" Tree smiled at Silly. "I believe you're right on time. My name's Tree, what's yours?"

SillyAngelKitty
Silly smiled her wings fluttering in excitement. "I'm SillyAngelKitty. But everyone just calls me Silly. Are you here to help also?"

[Tree]
"Certainly. This is my daughter Callista, and this is Selina I'm her mentor." She said gesturing to the two girls. "It's a pleasure to meet you."

Satin Regret
Niko grins as she sees her sister, and nods greetings to all the others. "Hiya, guys. Guess I'm not the only one who wanted to look for bird-kids." She grins crookedly, bending and smiling encouragingly at Avani.

Zuko raises an eyebrow at the little brown girl his mother was smiling at. That would be.... Avani, I believe... Aunt Sil's daughter, so my cousin. And shy as a squirrel, no doubt, the way she's hidin' behind Sil's legs. He smiles at his little cousin, holding his left hand out, the tan-brown skin appearing even browner in the light, his small claws glinting in the cold sunlight. The black clawmarks on his wrist are peeking out of his shirt sleeve.

Kirea Mitsu
She smiled at the quickly assembled group, muttering greetings. "Heyla, all," seemed sufficient for the moment, considering the cold, and her lack of desire to be hyper. Keiko looked up at the spire, thinking. All the others had brought their children with them, but Acrasia had blatantly refused to go out in the cold, and Nell was tired. Thinking there might be a great deal of walking involved, she had decided not to push them to come.

Harpy Event: Part 1 (continued)
pages 15 & 16

SillyAngelKitty
Silly looked a bit embarrassed. "I'm by myself. I dunno what exactly I am helping with tonight. I was just told that someone was needing help here. So I came. Was I spose to bring someone with me?"

MoogerMint
A new face among the croud of Banir Kinder foster parents showed up just then, as if coming out of the darkness itself. Her eyes flashed angrily at the thought of those wretched Von Helson sisters and their "extermination" of the young "bird-women" in their tower. Did they care so little for life? It made her shudder as she came up to the rest of them, tail sopping wet from her recent encounter with a puddle.

She only saw a few familiar faces in the crowd as she made sure the spear on her back was still strapped in tightly. One was the owner of the Banir Kinder AC, somebody Moogz had taken fondly to in her short time here, and the other being someone she met months before. The former was Arafel, the latter being Silvia. She smirked a bit and waved to Silvia, then turned to Arafel, awaiting her plan. "I brought a few friends of mine. I hope you don't mind," she said, indicating the flashing of wolf eyes looking back at them from the woods behind them.

[Tree]
"No, Callista wanted to come and Selina came to keep an eye on her. My son is at home. We're rescuing harpy chicks. The Von Helsons are 'exterminating" the harpies so Arafel formed a team to try and rescue the chicks." Tree told her.

Silvia Angelia
Avani held to the edge of her mom's pants as her cousin reached out to her, but hesitantly reached a hand out, the vine wrapped around her arm hanging from the wrist.

Silvia smiles at her sister, then gives a grin to all the others as they walk up. "Of course you're not the only one, Niko. I've always hoped to find one. . ." Her face shows a bright hope, and her sapphire eyes sparkle.

Zhome
Zhome wasn't one to be left out of too many things, and given the fact that hadn't bugged his dear twin arafel in long enough, and left out of a lot of things already due to other matters, and today was his day to bug and stop the chain of inactivity.. His arrival wasn't as friendly as the others, but rather as silent as possible for an idiot of a kitsune, and to pounce at his sibling the moment he was withen range.

Akari of course hadn't chosen that reckless of a course, rather, he had chosen to go up to his 'cousin', Miroku, and quickly offering to shake hands. "Hey Miroku! How are you?" Of course... He wasn't doing this just to shake hands, but he had learned from his own gaurdian ways of making it seem and look like not a thing was in his hand, which held a very high voltage buzzer.

SillyAngelKitty
Silly nodded her head. "Whats going to happen after we rescue them? Are they going to find homes? I don't like those girls they are so mean. They said such horrible things when I went to their ball!!"

Kirea Mitsu
She was brought sharply out of thought by Tree's comment. "Yes. The chicks deserve better than to be exterminated by those vile people. We're trying to save them." Not as profound as she had been hoping for, but good enough.

Madness_insanity
"We should think of some way to get to them soon, who knows what the Sisters are doing to the chicks", Mad said, deciding to speak up.

Satin Regret

"No, Callista wanted to come and Selina came to keep an eye on her. My son is at home. We're rescuing harpy chicks. The Von Helsons are 'exterminating" the harpies so Arafel formed a team to try and rescue the chicks." Tree told her.
Niko looks up. "They're what? I just heard that the sisters found the chicks, not that they were trying to get rid of them." She glowers, crossing her arms. "I swear, they honestly have no morals, those VonHelsons... Especially with what they did to Gambino." She rolls her eyes. "Well, let's just try and find and help as many of the chicks as we can." She smiles encouragingly to the motley group. "Oh yeah, for those of y'all who don't know my, I'm Nikomas, Nikomas Torren. But you can just call me Niko." She grins widely, and pokes her sister. "I should've at least expected to see you here, and I don't know why I'm surprised." She laughs.

Zuko sighs. You'd think that the Von Helsons were demons, the way they act. Still not as bad as I was, but trying to get rid of innocent little harpy chicks? I'm a demon, and I think that's downright wrong... He snorts, and grins crookedly to himself. It's a real wonder I got banished... He thinks sarcastically.

[Tree]
"Actually we're adopting them. Well unless you don't want to. But yes we're each rescuing one and then we can adopt them." Tree smiled. "I love kids. I have a large family but I couldn't stay away." Tree looked at Keiko. "I agree with you. Gambino was no saint but he's better than those two." Tree nodded sharply. "I agree with all of you. We need to get up there!"

SillyAngelKitty
Silly looked excited. "I get to adopt the one I rescue? That is so neat. We need to go save them as soon as we can!! I bet they are cute too." She started purring softly.

Kirea Mitsu
Deciding to follow Nikomas's example Keiko introduces herself. "Yeah, and I'm Keiko Mitsu." She looks in mild amusement around at the group. There sure are a lot of us. I hope we're enough. She thought, crossing her arms over her chest against the cold, and looking over at Arafel.

[Tree]
"I'm sure they will be." She said to Silly.

Satin Regret

Niko laughs. "You might wanna beware, though, Silly. Birds naturally flee from cats, and you've got cat ears and tail, so you might want to be more cautious then the rest of us." She grins to take away any sting from her words.

Silvia Angelia
Silvia's eyes widen as she hears that. "Destroy them? How could they? They're only chicks! They haven't done anything!" She crosses her arms, glaring at no one in particular, paying scant attention to Avani at the moment. She glares at her sister as she's poked.

"Like I would expect to sit at home watching TV all day. . . so I wonder why I should be surprised, let alone you?" she says snidely. Peering behind her, she sees a new face, that of a tall demon with his hand out to her daughter.

"Oh? And who might you be?" she asks with curiousity.

Arafel
((holy carp x__x;; *can't go this fast XD*))
Arafel stood slowly, smiling at the turn up.. glancing to the wolves Moogz had trailing along after her. Her tail gave a unconsious wag as she nodded "Friends are quite fine."
She paused.. grey eyes glancing to the side.. she could have sworn- "ACK!" she yelped, flailing before colapsing over backwards from her brother's weight landing with a thud on the stone ground "Oww.." she whimpered glaring at him. Sighing she glanced to the group once more.. ignoring the kitsune atop her.
"Since they wouldn't let me into their castle through the front door we're taking a more senic route up the spire and through a window." or.. in more blunt terms they were breaking in. She smiled as if that was the easiest task in the world, and something that wasn't illegal. "So whenever your ready i've got climbing gear right over there. Find yer size.." she sat up, pushing her younger brother off and pointing to the pile of equipment. Though Zhome was probably only an hour younger she didn't care.

Miroku blinked and shrugged.. "Fine.. I guess." he was hardly paying attention as he scanned the women that had showed up.

Madness_insanity
"I'm Madness but you can call me Mad" she introduced herself with a smile, "Anyone have any ideas", she looks toward the tower, "because we have to get all the way up there and as far as I know, only one of us can fly."

Satin Regret

Niko sticks her tongue out. "Nyahh, you never know."

Zuko tilts his head to the side. "Oh, I'm Shizuko. Your nephew." He smiles charmingly, holding his hand out to Silvia. "Nice t'meet'cha, Aunty Sil." He laughs.

((Brb for I don't know how long, hopefully 10 minutes at most. Just gotta sneak the laptop up to my room ninja ))

[Tree]
Tree nodded and walked off to the pile with Selina and Callista. Tree and Selina got on their gear and then Tree helped Callista puts hers on. "Ready," She told Arafel.

Kirea Mitsu
"Climbing. Fun!" She remarks, without sarcasm, and goes over to shift through the pile of equipment. Pulling on all necessary paraphinalia, she pulls her hair back tightly, and smiles grimly. "Let's be off."

Madness_insanity
"Okay" she sighs and digs through the pile. She pulls out the needed equipment and attempts to put it on. "I'm ready" she announced " let's go save some harpies."

Satin Regret

Miroku blinked and shrugged.. "Fine.. I guess." he was hardly paying attention as he scanned the women that had showed up.
Niko bites her lip nervously. We're breaking in? Well, it's for the chicks, but I still don't feel comfortable about this... She shuts her eyes and shakes her head, firming herself before looking up with her eyes full of determination. "I'm ready." She unfurls her white wings, the feathers letting out the heat they were holding to her body. The black bars and markings on her wings stand out agaisnt the snow white. "Do I need climbing things though? Me 'n Zuko can just fly up..." She frowns uncertainly.

Zuko grins with relish. Spire-climbing, and rule-breaking!! Ha ha, lookit mom squirm. Sure as seven hells, she doesn't like this. He rubs his hands together, opening his wings and flapping them expirementally.

Zhome
Zhome murmered unhappilly as he sat up, glaring at his sister for her pushing him off. Although he didn't waste time in moving to grab his own equipment, which was more remeniscent of ice picks and such than anything... "Bah... Oh well, I'll take point or rear Oneesan, We need to string up a way.. And do the rope thing, yeh know?" Came his words, moving to grab his kinder, whose own gear he held in a bag at his side.

Akari though merely murmered for now at Miroku.. Only to grin after a bit and pat him on the back. "See any good ones?" was his question. Of course he didn't care too much.. But, at the very least, the pat did send plenty of voltage into the dragon's back.

Kirea Mitsu
Keiko smiles at Nikomas, patting her on the shoulder. "Don't worry." She says, "It's for a good cause. They probably wont even notice we were there." We'll be in and out like that. No trouble. But all the same, she twitched slightly with nervousness.

Madness_insanity
Mad's hands were in fists as she stared at the tower. "I hope this goes well", she thought to herself. She looked around at the others, some seemed to be nervouse.

((bye))

Niko frowns still, chewing her lower lip again. "I still don't like doing this, even though the Von Helson's deserve it..." She shakes herself, and little droplets of water fly off her wings and her bright orange hair.

Zuko grins maliciously(sp?). "Don't worry, mother, I'm sure it's never too late to be accepted as a demon..." He says innocently, quickly dodging her hand as it came flying for the back of his head, ahead of a sharp glare.

Arafel
"Mayb-Aiie!" he yelped, a spark of electricity jolting down his back. Turning to shoot a glare at his cousin and rub at the abused spot.. he frowned, pointing to his cursed hand threatningly before giving a few flaps of his wings to fly up above the others.. quite ready to go and no need of any equipment. Maybe he could look up someone's skirt? << >>

Arafel allready had her stuff on for hte most part, twas jsut a matter of strapping a few things in that were uncomfortable if you stayed in them for too long. Though the were-elf had no quams about breaking into a spire that had been locked off. No one would even know... Plus, she was pretty unedjucated in certian behaviors one generally used. Like not breaking into a spire.
She nodded ot her brother "Sounds good.. you can go ahead and pick the positions and whatnot.." to be honest she didn't have much of a clue what she was doing, but.. she'd never let THEM know that. Also that was exactly why she had let her brother come along.

((I'm thinking about having a few more equip up posts and then continueing the climb later X3 when more people seem to be on. This started kinda late o_o ))

MoogerMint
(( Ack! I can't go too fast either! @_@; ))

MoogerMint nods to everyone as they speak amongst themselves and everyone around them. She wasn't much to talk to, but she had opinions of her own. She just usually kept them to herself... And she was glad for Arafel's happy demeanor towards her wolves. "Good! I'm glad," she said, grinning.

She noticed the others tremble under the cold wind and she lifted her head to it, sniffing the fresh breeze. It was much better than sunshine! And all the better to sneak into the spire under, too! She grinned maliciously for a bit before realizing the conversation going on about adopting these harpy chicks. "Actually," she said, finally speaking up, "Shouldn't we just rescue as many as we can? We can worry about the adoption business later. And what if there aren't enough people to rescue the chicks?" She looked up into the window of the spire, but spotted nothing through the bare window. She sighed, hoping the little ones were all right.

<> came a voice through MoogerMint's mind. She smiled, knowing it was her alpha female wolf, Kouya no Kiku. She was glad they came along, knowing they'd be a great asset in the search.

<> MoogerMint asked to the pack, turning towards the trees and pointing to the top of the spire.

A sigh came next, followed by the young voice of Tensui, <>

<> Moogz sighed, discouraged. Don't worry, little ones. We're here to rescue you from your set fate.

With the climbing gear set out, MoogerMint's face contorted into a cringe. How was her pack going to get up there? They couldn't really use the gear built for the humanoid people here... Only the ones with wings could come up with her.

Grabbing some of the equipment and strapping it on as she walked, MoogerMint strode over to the pack in the shadows. Hooking the last buckle into place, she looked up and spoke to them, "Pyromia, Gingitsune, Mikadzuki, you three will be coming up with me since your the only ones who technically can. Kouya and Tensui, you two will stay down here and keep the perimeter free of anything so we can escape without any trouble. Kapesh?" They all nodded.

Moogz headed back for the group, threading a rope through their corresponding loops. Holding the other end, she gave the last of her instructions to the three that were following her up. "You come up when I'm over the ledge, got it? You know, just in case I fall or something. I want to be the first to get up there, so you don't scare the birds away, got it?" And with that, she awaited her orders.

(( My family is watching Spiderman 2... crying ))

Harpy Event: Part 1 (continued)
pages 17-19

Silvia Angelia
Silvia laughed out loud. Now that's something I can do! she thought to herself. From her past years as a thief, she had broken into many a house and had been able to climb up unaided. But she didn't trust herself anymore, so she stepped forward, reaching for two harnesses, one large and one small.

Stepping back, she fastened one around Avani's waist, and one on her own, snapping the clips into place. Kneeling, she looked at Avani. "Avani, you're going to be on my back for the climb. Do you think you could tie your vines to my waist and my arms?"

Avani shrugged, but nodded. Why do we have to do this anyway? She thought. They might not even be there. . . but I'm already here, I might as well do it.

SillyAngelKitty
Silly grinned then morphed into a normal faerie. "Ears and wings easy to hide." She fluttered her wings. "Do I have to climb?" She fluttered over to Arafel. "I could fly up and open a window for you guys while your climbing."

Satin Regret
Niko smiles at Arafel's answer. "Alright. I can't climb incredibly well, since I just generally fly." She looks over at Zuko, raising an eyebrow. "Reay, Shizuko?" At his nod, she crouches down, her wings completely spread out to their span of more then six feet. With one huge sweep and a lot of wind, she launches off the ground and into the air, spiraling as she soars upwards. She slows her spiral as she gets to around twenty feet in the air, looking back down at the group as she beats her wings slowly to keep her aloft. She shuts her eyes for a moment, invoking her Sense(Lets her see; IC, she's blind. She's got a 6th Sense that lets her see, and when she concentrates it's like she never lost her sight <3) and looking at the tower.

Zuko grins as his mother shoots up, and leaps into the air after her, unfurling his wings and beating them quickly to lift him up, since his were somewhat smaller then hers and took more to keep him aloft. Soaring up above her, he circles the tower, looking at each of the windows before diving back down to the ground, pulling up at the last second to land gracefully. He looks back up at his mom, who makes a few hand gestures, before turning to Arafel. "All the windows are unlocked. We can open any of them. There aren't any lights on, so I couldn't see anything in them"

Niko circles slowly in the air, occasionally pointing a finger at ridges on the tower, using her small magick to send little finger sized balls of light to illuminate the handholds, creating a light-ladder going up the tower. She then furls her wings, dropping quickly back down to the ground. "I put little lights by the places with good hand- and foot-holds." She smiles. "They'll stay there till we're all at the top."

were girl
Marfa was following the company silently the whole time, she prefured to be in shy and maybe that was because she was a werewolf, she had left her daugters at home because she though it was too dangerous for them even if they threatened to drink chamain with thier pet rabbit while she was away, although she still had a feeling they found a were to spy or follow her. Marfa was still outside the spire, trying to think of a way her werewolf powers might help her get up the spire.

[Tree]
Tree grinned at Nikomas. "Thank you!" She said. "Okay Callista, you go first then Selina then me. Hold out your wings they'll help you stay aloft."
Callista nodded and reached up to the first hand hold and then she was off moving fast and remembering to not look down.
Selina clambered up and moving with the agility and grace of the cat which she was gifted with climbed the tower as fast as she could due to the fast that Callista was in front of her.
Tree was the last one. She kept right on Selina's tail loving the breeze whipping around the tower.
Callista reached the window and slid in neatly followed by Selina who landed just as gracefully if not even better and watched Tree come up.
Tree, well she fell in, face first. She got up quickly and brushed her clothes off muttering about towers.

were girl
Martha looks up at the tower and desides to try out a climb it since she was very fond of her werewolfish powers, mutters something under her breath and begins morfing into her wolf form. when Marfa finished morthing she unleashed her claws and stuck them to the side of the spire, ready to climb up.

Marfa and Sarah sit in the tree in which the cat girl jumped in, spying on their mother and wanting to come with her really hard. Holly, their pet rabbit was the spy and scout, looking down at the people bellow, Marfa looks at her mother, "cool! I never knew mum could look so cool in her werewolf morf!" xd

were girl
Martha starts climbing up as her children stare at her from the tree, climbs up most of the way in about two minutes and shes on the level with the branch of the tree were Marfa and Sarah sat on, turns her head round and sees Sarah and Marfa. eek Stops climbing with shoke and shakes her head, then gets mad, "MARFA! SARAH! your grounded for two mouths! No Sere and Aqua to visit you!" turns to Holly, "no more carrots to you too younge rabbit!"

Marfa and Sarah bursts into tears and Holly wimpers and burries his face into his paws. Marfa stands up on the branch, "but mum! Sere and Aqua were alowed to come! why can't weeeee?" looks at her mother with her puppy eyes.

Martha glares at the two of them and thinks for a moment of a return answer, "because Aqua is water and she can shift, can any of you change form? Sere is an angel and she had wings, plus her yelling can scare anyone!" glares at her children once more and thinks, "you can come with me but be silent!" Climbs up to the window and jumps through, Marfa grabbs Sarah and puts her on her back and takes Holly by the cruff of his neck and jumps from the tree to the window.

Niko follows all of this with a slight grin on her face, beating her wings slowly so they don't stiffen from fatigue. When her daughters are mentioned, she intercedes. "Actually, Sere and Aqua aren't here. Sere just refused to come, and I wouldn't let Aqua come because she'd scare away the harpy chicks. My only kid who came is Zuko"-She gestures to the tan boy-"And he's done this kind of thing before." She makes a face at him.

Zuko rolls his eyes, and has a faux-innocent face on. "Who? Me? Mother, you must be mistaken; I've never done anything of this sort before!"

Niko rolls her eyes. "Yeah, and I'm the lead Goddess of Oasis. Yes, you have too, now stop arguing."

((Heh heh, it's funny, 'cause story-wise, Nikomas is the lead Goddess in Oasis <3))

Kirea Mitsu
Keiko watches the exchange with amusement, being reminded of Sere and Nell's playdate. She falls into thought about the harpy chicks, wondering about their temperament. Going over to the spire, she places one hand against the stone, feeling for cracks in the wall, and turning to lean against it, and watch the continuing activities.

Kirea Mitsu
"Hi, Nikomas," Keiko says with a small smile, and a short wave in greeting. "They've been good. A bit tired as of late, but otherwise fine. I trust you, Sere, and Aqua are doing well?"

She shrugs idly. "As well as we can be. Aqua 'n Sere are still trying to get used to the idea of an older brother and a possible harpy sibling, and Sere isn't doing at all well with it." She grins ruefully, laughing softly.

Zuko grimaces. "I'll say. You'd think Aqua is never quiet, the way she carries on!" He says this in an aggrieved tone of voice, his shoulders drooping and pulling a loud laugh from his mother.

Holly hides behind Sarah too as Martha brushes dust off her black skirt, still angry at her daughters.

sweatdrop Niko holds her hands up to Martha. "Ehmm, now now, Martha, it's quite alright... Aqua had been going on for a few days about how she was going to come with me, I just didn't take her with this morning. All kids have a sense of adventure, and they'll follow their mum or dad when they're told not to at least once." She tries to sooth Martha's temper, not wanting her daughters' friends to get in trouble.

((Ha ha, yesh, I made eLouai dolls of my banir children, though for Sere an' Aqua I was just speculating on how they may look when they're teenagers. Thats how Shizuko is supposed to look, only thing being I couldn't get his skin to be tan. When I tried making it a nice brown, it looked more like a dull yellow @_@))

pages 19 & 20

Arafel
((Okay i've decided to run this in a series of promts X3 what'll happen is I post the "prompt" and you reply to it, and eachother.. until the action kinda dwindles down. Please don't use TOO much chatting, or uncessisary chatting...
like your characters ending up safely then talking about the weather. ^__^))

prompt #1
After everyone was geared up, and the grappling hook was secured at the top of the tower our heros and heroines started to climb (or fly)
About 50 feet up a chickling poped its head out. With a laugh it snapped the rope and.. thus sent everyone falling about 6 feet before Arafel (who was at the top of the line) was able to morph her hands and dig the werewolf claws into the stone. Creating a loud screaching noise and sparks as they grinded along it.
Though she wouldn't be able to hold on much longer, not with all the weight pulling her. but thats still a steep drop for them to survive.

So.. what do you do?

((Eh heh, just a suggestion Zhome. xD I don't know ya very well, but I though that since your Arafel's brother... *Shrugs* Bye Martha!!))

Niko groans, and quickly zips over, grabbing the top of the rope before it falls too far. She strains as suddenly the wieght of many humans pulls her down, but she continues beating her wings to keep them all aloft. "G-Guys, try and get a handhold, I c-can't hold y'all for alot longer..."

Zuko also flies over, and he helps Arafel up abit to the nearest ledge by lifting her. With a sly wink for Arafel, he wings over, grabbing a clawful of rope a ways beneath his mother, and he also tugs it up to put less strain on her. "Some sense of trouble, bah, silly chick..." He mutters under his breath, sparing a moment to glare up at where the baby harpy had tucked it's head out.

Martha and her daughters climb up after Arafel, Martha was still in her werewolf morf, using her long claws to her her climb up the tower. Marfa and Sarah who were climbing behind were chatting to each other about who would climb quicker, Marfa was using her claws like her mother but Sarah put on special climbing gloves she bought in a special shop. Holly was looking out from Sarah's bag, whimpering and squeaking in rabbit launguage which only Sarah could undertsand.
Martha hears a sound and sees that something happened to Arafel and that Niko was helping her out, Martha begins climbing up quicker, somewere close to Niko's level and grabbs the rope in her werewolf jaws to help her. Marfa looks up and see's the chick, growls at it furriously and barks out loud.

((this was maybe my last post for 7 days, bye!))

SillyAngelKitty
Silly flew over to Niko grabbing ahold of the rope alongside her. "This should lighten the load a bit on you." Her wings fluttered faster as she tried to hold onto the rope. "My god you guys are heavy!!" She looked down at the others. "Was that a harpy that did this?" She peered up at the small head peeking out above her.

Avani squeals as the rope drops a few feet, but huddles against her mom as the rope slowly stops.

Momentarily reassuring her daughter, Silvia turns back to the rope, and with determined hands, sets one over the other and begins climbing steadfastly up the rope, till she came up to Arafel's feet. Giving her a mute apology, she climbed over her and onto the windowsill, letting her feet drop onto the floor beneath it. Untying Avani from her back, she turned and grasped the rope in strong hands.

Might as well make use of the blood, she thought to herself. Heaving the rope, she pulled it, looking for an ideal place to tie it to. Spotting a doorknob halfway across the room, she shrugs, assuming it would be strong enough, and dragged the rope, with a little bit of Avani's help, and tied it securely to the door.

((hope thats alright ^^))

[Tree]
Tree notices what's going on and jumps up alarmed. She runs over to Silvia hurriedly introducing herself. "Do you think that's strong enough?" She asks nervously. "There are a lot more people who are going up..." She says casting a glance out the window.

Madness_insanity
Mad desides to make her way up as quickly as she can. Climbing at a fast pace she smiles "Smart little bugger" and continues to climb. When she reaches the top she lifts herself through the window and lands with a "Thunk" on the floor.

Kirea Mitsu
Keiko's face deadened to an almost gray color, in shock and fear. She scrabbled her fingers at the cracks in the wall, as Tree and Silvia climb up. Reaching up and scrambling up after the others as quickly as she could, she clings tightly to the rope. Hauling herself over the windowsill and flewing her fingers to make sure no digits were detatched, she held out both hands to help up Arafel and the others.

Satin Regret
((Not too sure if I'm supposed to respond to the others' posts, but oh well *Shrugs*))

She smiles gratefully as at least half the weight is taken off her shoulders fom the others' help. She nods to Arafel, and pulls the rope higher so that those still attached to it might climb through the window into the tower.

Zuko sighs in relief, and swoops down to just below the last person on the rope, his body taut with wariness and caution in case anyone lost their grip on the rope.

MoogerMint
(( Sorry for being gone so long. It's been a busy week since the end of last week I was sick. I had a lot of catch-up homework to do... *grumbles* ))

As the wolves disparted to get ready for their directions to take effect, MoogerMint preceeded to loop the end of the rope through her climbing gear. The others were already on their way up, and MoogerMint knew she should hurry it up if she were going to get up there in time to be of any help at all. She looked back at the five wolves, the three that were following her up watching her carefully for any signals. She smirked and grabbed a hold of the rope with both hands, "I'm heading up. Meet you at the top." With that, she turned and headed up the rope as a rockclimber would, pulling herself up with her arms and steadying her climb with her hiking boots.

A few moments later she found that she had caught up with the rest of the group, blaming her boundless energy on the kitsune blood running through her veins. But she had not much longer to think about this, for she soon found the trouble that befell them all when the harpy chick snipped their line. "Crap..." was all she managed to spit out before she found herself falling with the other climbers. She threw one arm out to steady her fall, but it was nigh impossible, and before she knew it Arafel had grasped, or rather created her own, handhold in the stone surface of the spire's wall. This would have been a good thing, if she were not faced with the swift oncoming of the stone wall to her shoulder. She clutched the rope tightly, feeling the rough, quickened heartbeat in her chest suddenly lurch up to her throat when her arm had slammed into the wall. She gasped suddenly for fresh air as the severe pain crept throughout her entire being, her arm hanging limply. She knew right away it was dislocated.

"Moogz!!!" Pyromia yelled in reaction, already beating his red and black wings to meet her mid-air. Gingitsune and Mikadzuki followed in pursuit, though much more quietly.

The sweat beading off her skin was quickly chilled as she hung by the rope one-handed. She cursed under her breath as she felt herself slipping. If I can just hang on until they reach me... she thought before her descent continued more and more rapidly. Even though the night was freezing she still felt the rope burning her hand and cutting through her calloused hands. In a surge of annoyance, she bit back the pain and tightened her grip as hard as she could muster, even if it meant digging her claws into her own palm. "Hurry up!" she yelled down at the wolves, feeling herself loosing control of her body. Not now... Please not now, she prayed to herself, fighting the control of the demon trapped inside her body.

"I'm here, I'm here," Pyromia soothed as he came up to her, positioning himself so that MoogerMint could drop on his upper back. Her eyes were closed by this time as she used all the strength she had to fight off the demom, loosening her grip to fall on the alpha's back.

Quickly but softly, the three wolves proceeded to the top of the spire. Gingitsune flew alongside the night-blue alpha, reassuring Mint through the whistling of the wind. "You can stave him off," she said.

The three of them entered through the topside of the window so as not to mess up the work of the others. As they landed in the corner of the room, Mikadzuki rushed over to the window to help out, latching onto the rope with strong incisors and pulling. Gingitsune helped slide MoogerMint off of Pyromia's back by catching her between the two and dropping her softly in the corner. They propped her up, her head swinging about limply before she grunted as if from a sleep. As she lifted her eyelids to reveal her eyes, the two wolves saw that they were tinted red and slit for a few seconds before they returned to their normal blue-yellow shade. She looked around a bit drowsily before realizing where she was, turning back to the two wolves and giving them a fanged smile. "I'm okay. I'm back," she replied before noticing her burned left hand was bleeding. She frowned in surprise, lifting it up to her eyes. "Oops. Didn't notice that," she said before trying to rip off a thin strip of her pantleg to use as a bandage, realizing again that her arm was useless.

"Uh, I could get--"

"No, it's okay," Moogz interrupted, smiling weakly. "You two might want to stand back, this may startle you," she requested before they obeyed. She inhaled through her teeth as she grabbed her dislocated shoulder with her bloodied hand. Closing her eyes tightly, she gripped her shoulder and popped the bone back into place. She immediately screamed in pain, though however hard she tried not to. All three wolves jumped at her vocal pain as she seethed in more air through her teeth to fight it. Opening one eye, she tore about half her pantleg off and over her boot, gripping it in her teeth and tearing it to form a rectangular sheet of cloth. She then attempted to tie her arm up in a sling, though the knot above her shoulder was very awkwardly crafted. "There. That's better," she panted, wiping sweat away from her forehead. "Though this makes things a little hard from now on." She was right-handed and now, more than ever, she wished she were ambidextrous.

She stood up to her full height (which was rather short, actually) and smirked. "Ready?"

(( That took me a while to write... This is what happens when I'm gone for days. sweatdrop ))

SillyAngelKitty
Silly smiled back. "Thank goodness for wings!!" She held on until the last person was safe in the window sill.

Arafel
Prompt 2
Arafel is now comically on her knees thanking the fliers that saved their butts. Which soon stopped once she saw the eight harpies scatter about the room. Except for a single egg in what appears to be a nest.

A wall has been busted through, and what appears to be thousands upon thousands of old books are seeping out. It seems the conhelson sisters were too lazy to actually throw away the books nad just shoved them in the wall...
Most of the harpies have scattered into this wall, a few rmain hidden under corners and whatnot. and one, apparently the one that snapped the rope, is sitting atop a random object, sneering and hissing at the people.

[Tree]
Tree blinks and looks at the harpies keeping one eye on Callista who doesn't seem to understand that they might not like her.
Selina meanwhile is trying to decide between her sister and the books and finally grabs the girl brings her into a corner whispers something in her ear and runs over to the books.
"So, now what?" Tree mutters under her breath. She shrugs and slowly starts to approach one of the harpy chicks in the wall. She smiles at the harpy. "Hi?"

Silvia Angelia
Silvia blinks in surprise when she sees the harpies, and she draws Avani behind her, who doesn't really seem to object to the assumed 'protection.' Silvia takes a small step forward, one hand out, and tries to creep a little closer to the small egg in the nest, keeping an eye on the hissing harpy all the while.

Niko's breath catches at the sight of all the books, the harpies in particular. Good Goddess, that's alot of books! Do the Sisters' respect anything other then their own power? She watches the harpies warily, her gaze falling on the egg. An egg? I though there were only female harpies up here, but if there's an egg, then there's gotta be at least one guy... She looks around now at the assorted harpies. But which? I can't tell with most of them all hiding in the crevasse and other places... She cautiously approaches one of the harpies that fled into a corner, crooning softly under her breath to the bird-child.

Shizuko's eyes widen at the appearance of the 8 harpies. Wow, so these are bird-people... He continues to watch them warily as his mother approaches one, prepared to spring to her defense if any start to attack.

Kirea Mitsu
"Lords." Keiko stands up, turning around and taking in the pandemonium. Books everywhere, eight or so harpy-chicks pretty much all over the place, that messy looking nest, and the egg. She was quickly distracted by the books falling out of the wall, but brough back to Gaia by the situation at hand.

She steps slowly towards a pair of the harpies who had retreated towards the wall, holding out her hands in a 'look-I'm-not-carrying-a-big-murderous-weapon/I-mean-no-harm' gesture, which she hoped was universally known. "Hello."

Sound was better than nothing. Even if it was only two syllables.

Madness_insanity
Madness gasped as she saw all of the chicks, "wow" she muttered. She walked around and approched one that was hiding beneath some books. She bent down on her knees and looked under the pile, "ummm...hello there little one" she said, keeping her distance.

SillyAngelKitty
Silly flew down then landed on the window sill then headed in. She saw tail feathers in all directions and another harpie hissing. She was taken back a bit. "Not very friend are they?" She looked around. "I wonder if they can talk?"

were girl
Martha and her children following her climbs up into the tower and see's all the harpies scatter, some hiding behind the books, some hid in corners and one sat hissing at people (the one that bit the rope). Marfa jumps forward and allows her dog part take control as she begins barking at the hissing Harpy. Sarah walks over to the nest with the egg, examining it up and wanting to pick it up, motions to her mother to come closer and see it. Martha saw Sarh motion to her and turned back into her human from and then came up slowly towards her, staring at the egg and afraid that the harpies might what to defend it and attack them.

Harpy Event: Part 4
pages 20-22

Zhome
((Well.. It's long alright.. But everyone, yes this 'as been approved by Neesan, so yeah.. Enjoy the panic of the alarm! x3 Oh.. And if you're too lazy to read, he tripped the mansion's alarm system, so yeah.. Lots of noise, and you know the picture.))

Zhome.. Well, Zhome hadn't been let off the easy way when the rope had dropped to the ground from all the others getting off. In fact, he hadn't even set one hand on the rope to climb up yet, so rather for now, he was, in a sense, stranded.. On the ground, and immediately began a string of words that most of the gaurdians above more than likely wouldn't aprove of. Not only that, but it was definately loud enough for all of them to hear, and the loud angry voice of a man definately wasn't something friendly towards already frightened chicks.

But, being the stubborn fool he was, he didn't wait at all for help, or even to get yelled at, but rather stripped of his climbing gear, and moved quickly along the wall of the floor instead. He had already counted how many floors up the room at the top of the tower should be, and was content he could still get there. But, he wasn't going to climb, not without the rope. He trusted himself well enough, but he didn't trust the others coming down quite as much, so it was simple, he was going to break in, and find another way down.

Such was his reason for circling, and as he did, both of his eyes scanning quickly for the nearest window. And they found it before long, not very far off from where he started walking at all, or the base of that tower. It was all he needed, and within moments, there was a broken window within the Von Helson mansion, and a kitsune inside looking for a door. Amazingly, nothing happened really when the window was broken, but rather, it took one other thing to tempt the twin of the one so well known to banir kinder and their gaurdians. It was simply treasure

It wasn't like the kitsune was well off, at any given time, he only really had about eight hundred or so gold, and that was if he was lucky for the most part. In fact, the only reason he even had a place to stay was because of his sister, and the fact that she had let him take up residence within her closet. Of course, now the space inside was a lot bigger than most houses, part of the younger twin's fox magic, but he was still poor. That, and of course he wanted to repay his sister, so as his eyes alighted on the ornate jewels and gold, both basically flashed money signs, and the man could only think of two things. First off, he'd be able to pay back his sister, second off, he'd finally have some of that thing everyone else had, money.

So, it didn't take him long to reach out and pick up the two items, one a large gem sitting on a table, another a vase made of gold sitting across the hall from it. His figuring was, the sisters were so rich they didn't need it anyways, let alone miss it! But.. His figuring was wrong, and seconds after both were put in his backpack, a quarter of the vase sticking out, alarm bells and such began ringing throughout the mansion, making the nogitsune immediately pale as he muttured the quietest curse he knew.

Satin Regret
Nikomas jumps up high as the alarm suddenly sounds, her eyes wide as dishplates and her body suddenly in her son's arms, her arms around his neck with her wings hanging over his arm. She looks at him in surprise, her mouth a little "o" of surprise and shock, before she clambers out of his arms, trying to make her heartbeat slow again. "Aww, fiddlesticks... Who made the alarm go off?" As she asks that, she realizes that they couldn't leave without the harpy babies, and she groans, hitting her forehead with a palm. "Oh, crud... Shizuko, we needa get the chicks out of here with us, but I don't know how easily I'll be able to carry one, especially if it fights." She eyes the chick in the corner warily, glancing cautiously at it's claws, sharp enough to cut despite the chick's youth.

Shizuko also watches the bird, on his gaurd agaisnt any chance of the baby attacking. "I can help you carry it, but you gotta be careful to not get'cher wings caught and fumbled up in mine again." He scolds, waggling a finger at his mother with mock-sterness.

Niko rolls her eyes, and carefully creeps foward towards the chick, a hand held out beckoningly with a piece of meat on it.

Wait a sec... Where'd she get the food? o_O? I don't think I wanna know... Shizuko shivers for a moment, before creeping forward behing his mom, circling and ready to make a grab for the chick if neccasary.

Madness_insanity
She jumped in surprise, forgetting her head was under some books and knockes some over revealing the now more frightened chick.
"gahhhh, this can't be good" she said while looking at the chick, "we need to get you and your siblings out of here." "Maybe if I pick you up slowly..." she said to herself as she reached for the shaking chick, "real slow" she repeated.

[Tree]
Calllista jumps up her eyes wide with fright. "Yikes!" She screams, shaking violently.
Selina frowns. "Oh great. We so have to get out of here. Tree grab one of the cicks and run!"
Tree nods and moves slowly towards the harpy chick and gently attempts to pick it up...

Silvia Angelia
Silvia jumped as the alarms went off, then glared around at everybody, wondering who set it off. "Wait. . . who's not here?" she said in a worried voice.

Avani nearly jumped out of her skin when the alarm went off, then buried her face in her mom's leg, embarassed.

Niko's cheek twitches for a second in irritation as she realizes who's missing. She flexes her hands as if they were harpy claws, and mutters "Zhome. He never came up the rope; I didn't notice, he was still on the ground. He must've tried getting in through a door or another window..." She turns her gaze upward in annoyance, before dropping her head and shaking it quickly. "We've gotta get out of here. Now. I can carry 2, maybe 3 people, counting a harpy chick and someone's child. Shizuko can pro'lly carry at least two people to himself, without a chick."

were girl
Martha whispers something in Sarahs ear and turns round and walks over to the others. "we're leaving this tower? I can always climb, so can Marfa but Sarah will have to fly or cling onto my back as we go down. MARFA!"
While her mother doesn't see Sarah pciks up the egg, unzipps her back-pack and puts the egg inside, zipping it up again.
Marfa corners a harpie and barks at it while coming closer every second at it growling softly just to frighten it and gets ready to pounce at it when her mother calls to her but she ignores the call and crouches low, ready to pounce once again.

[Tree]
Tree managing to pick up the Harpy chick, holds it gingerly. "There, there," She whispers. "I'm not going to hurt you. Here, have something to eat." Tree holds out a small piece of meat. "Selina, get Callista and get out of here" She instructs the girl. "I'll be along as fast as I can."
Sellina nods and grabbing her sister's hand pulls Callista over to the window, where she clumsily attaches her sister's harness and gestures towards the window. "Go," She hisses.
Callista nods, and going over the window sill climbs slowly down.
Selina looks down at the ground mentally calculating the distance. About thirty feet. She's jumped at most twenty but should be able to do it. Climbing gingerly onto the sill, she flattens out her hands, safely landing on her hands and knees five seconds later.

Madness_insanity
Mad managed to grab the chick, gently rocking and soothing her as she stood up, "God we need to get out of here very fast-like. We'll need to climb or get a ride out of here." She turned toward Niko, " would you mind carrying me and the little one out of here?" she asked as she looked down at the chick then back to Niko.

were girl
Martha walked over to her older daugter and picked up the frightened harpie chick from infront of her and cuddled it, "now Marfa, don't fighten the poor chick. . ." looks over to Sarah as Sarah stands up. "did you put the egg back to its nest?" looks at Niko as Sarah nods lieingly and stands up, walking over to the window with the chick and jumped over to the tree near it and climbed down the branches down to the ground. Sarah sits on her sister Marfa's back and Marfa jumps out of the window and climbs down like her mother and jumps on the ground. Sarah climbs of Marfa's back and doesn't check how the egg is at the moment.

She turned toward Niko, " would you mind carrying me and the little one out of here?" she asked as she looked down at the chick then back to Niko.
She chews her lower lip worriedly at this question. "Ummm...." She glances back at the harpy chick, still hissing and flapping it's wings at her. "I guess, long's the chicks don't try to bite me or anything." She turns as if to speak to Zuko, but suddenly scoops up the little harpy in her arms as it squawks in surprise, crooning softly under her breath. "Sure, hurry. Try and tie the chick to your back, if possible, so you can have your arms around my neck." She trots over to the window, carefully leaning out. "It's not too windy..." She turns back to Mad, nodding. "Yeah, if you get on my back and find a way to not squish the chick, I can take you down." She turns back to Shizuko. "Zuko, you'll need to fly under me, in case either of the chicks or Mad drops. I't's gonna be heavy for me, but I don't think that'll happen..."

Zuko nods, before jumping onto the windowsill and leaping out into the cold night, quickly spreading his wings as he dives down to the ground. He pulls up at the last minute, waving his arm to those at the window as he shoots back upwards like a rocket, slowing down near the window and grinning. "All's ready!"

Niko nods, and grins sheepishly at Mad. "Time to get on. Careful of my wings, don't catch any feathers..." She fluffs her wings out so that they aren't out so far she won't be able to use the window, but so they aren't close enough to lose a feather from getting caught under Mad's weight.

Madness_insanity
Mad nods and carefully ties the chick to her back, making sure it's secure. The chick squeeled a bit but settled down as Mad carefully climbed on Niko's back, being carefull of her wings, she responds "allright, I'm on, If it's comfortable enough for you we can get going" she said down to Niko.

Niko nods, her bright orange curls bouncing with the motion. "Alright, hang on. The takeoff might be a little rough..." She says apologetically, heading for the window quickly as she can, opening her wings out behind her. She carefully balances on the sill of the window, before jumping off the ledge, her wings snapping open and out, the wind shoving ther wings up. Her body shoots down towards the ground as she frantically tries to pull up from the dive, the harpy chick shrilling loudly. After struggling for a few seconds, she finally manages to shoot back upwards, her wings beating madly to keep going upwards.

Zuko was about to dive for Niko as she appeared to have trouble with her nosedive, but he heaved a great sigh of relief as she pulled up. He beats his wings hard, gliding over to his mother and checking to make sure Mad had a good grip around Niko's neck and shoulders before carefully taking the shrieking harpy chick from her arms to make things easier for her.

Madness_insanity
Mad, who held in her cry, looked back to check on the chick, who happened to be enjoying the ride. "I am fine back here, Hope i'm not holding on to tight" she said her eyes looking toward the ground.

She trails off, trying to get a good look at the wriggling harpy chick that Zuko held, trying to tell gender and features beneath the dirt and dust from the tower.

((Hmmm... I wonder what kind of birds they look like? xD I wonder if the one I grabbed looks like a snowy-owl... ninja xD!))

Silvia Angelia
Seeing others gently trying to pick up the harpy chicks, Silvia takes a few cautious steps towards a small, shivering chick. She made soft cooing noises in the back of her throat and gently wrapped her arms around the chick. Gently wrapping her belt into a makeshift carrier, she sets the chick into it.

Walking over to check her climbing rope, she tugs on it. Finding it secure, she gestures to Avani to climb onto her back and tie herself on. Walking slowly over to the windowsill, so as not to startle the harpy chick, she gently climbs out the window, and turns around, facing those still in the room. Grinning reassuringly, she waves. "See ya down there!" And she starts to make the climb down, albeit slowly since she had two occupants and no belayer.

((I'm sure it doesn't matter what they look like. They'll all be adorable! heart ))

Kirea Mitsu
(Oh! *respondeth to prompteth*)

Keiko meanwhile, had held out her hands gently to the harpy chick, been pecked lightly once, and had been permitted to pick up the chick. She wraps the chick, cold to the touch in her jacket, and scoots out towards the window, lowering herself slowly down, reconnecting the climbing rope, and checking it for strength. She slowly scoots downwards, suddenly aware of the fact that she was holding her breath, and exhaling loudly.

The rope creaked, and harpy and human stared up at it warily.

Harpy Event: Part 5
pages 22 & 23

Arafel
SillyAngelKitty-
The neko had run into the most beautiful of the harpies. She seemed to shift away, suspiciously but not scared at all. As the alarm went off she seemed to know it was best to go, and reluctantly went with her quietly.

[Tree]-
The harpy she ran into appeared to be cut and scraped all over, missing a wing and with a truely pathetic look atempted to retreat back into the shadows. Only to find a wall.
But at the sudden sound of the alarm she lept into teh arms of the seemingly nice woman infront of her and went willingly.

MoogerMint-
((since your post was eaten by gaia I'm NPCing you XD sorry sorry))
After everyone seemed to have been gotten out mooger was about to leave. But the faint whimpering noises drew her attention to the deep darkness of the books.
In some way (your choice) she finds the chick. And picking up the small girl makes her way back out and down.

were girl-
the egg still seemed ot have a bit of warmth to it. If one could feel the life through it, you could tell the chick inside was seemingly deciding between life or death. The egg was somewhat large, nearly as large as sarah herself, obviously not belonging to any normal bird. (cuz its a HARPY EGG. which i think everyone knows XD)

Madness_insanity-
The chick had pounced the woman as soon as she came near, giggling like she'd just eaten the entire candy store as she climbed all over her, before spreading her wings and gliding off.
She was soon caught again, and then taken to the womans back again. She squealed unhappilly at being stuck to one spot.. but soon calmed as she realized what they were about to do.
Fly.
She became overjoyed when they took off, spreading her own wings for the thril of it.

Keiko Mitsu-
The harpy chick had been cornered, clinging to an apparent bible for dear life. "Holy Father protect me!" she muttered, the words were jumbled with squaks but still understandable. She was convinced this person was a "demon" the bible talked about.
However once she had been convinced to come with keiko, she'd refused to be bundled whatsoever. Dispite the tempature. Anything that was tried to put around her she'd either squirm out of or shred through at last resort.

Nikomas Torren-
The harpy she ran into had been trying to crawl back into the books, but failing miserably from trying not to cut or scratch them with her claws. As soon as the siren sounded she shook her head, trying to grab the books before she was picked up "No!" she protested, "If we're not here the literature will be destroyed." She frowned, looking towards the stacks and stacks of books. She seemed so young, about he body of a 3 year old. And yet the she spoke clearly and intelegently.

Silvia Angelia-
As she went over to a shivering chick, the hissing one took a swoop at her. Attempting to drag her out, and back to the rope. But.. it wasn't the rope she was going for. Just the long drop that was near the rope.
However, as she managed to get the woman that was nearly 6 times her size off the edge, she too fell.
Silvia managed to catch the rope with just a bit of ropeburn, and the harpies leg. Not that she might have meant to, it was more of instinct. (your choice)
The chick seemed shocked.. she had been saved? by a stupid human? She snarled, but reluctantly accepted her. She owed her one after all, right? She decided she could still kill the other humans though.

The guards had immediatly rushed to where Zhome was. Not the top of the tower, no one cared there. Besides.. the security alarm had gone off a the front door.
So.. Arafel was forced to go save her ignorant little brother. And in the meantime she'd provide a distraction for everyone else.

"Aa.. Go tell everyone I'll meet them bak at the center." she patted miroku on the head, watching him nod and head down with their end of the rope.
She gave a cautions glance around before shifting to her wolf form. If this didn't work she'd use that.. other form. But, that was only a very last resort. She was an average wolf, only oddities about it were the fur colors and patterns. Most of her was the same silver as her hair, where as the ears and tail were black. Along with a streak connecting them. She also had the same tatoos and scars as her human form, though only the really obvious scars where noticable with the fur.

She dashed down the stairs, drawing the attention of everyone she could with barking, or just her presence. She was soon at the first level, with nearly 80% of gaia's guards on her tail. She shot a glare at her brother, urging him to run as she ran up and tripped the guard blocking his excape.

Miroku returned to the group "Mother will be meeting everyone back at the center." he smiled, folding up the rope. "And. I bleive we need to hurry." he nodded, moving to get to the van hidden off road "Aa.. Who here can drive?"

were girl
Martha noticed that Sarah's back pack had grown strangly large, about the same size at Sarah herself and could see that Sarah was trying to hide it, "What is in that bag Sarah?" Martha came up to Sarah and opened her back pack as Sarah protested and gasped when she saw what was inside, "Sarah! I never knew you were a theif! well actaully I did. . ." Martha heard the alarm go off and began turning into her wolf shape for defence and ran to the van too, then barked out, "I can drive cars! I guess vans aren't much diffrent. . .".

Marfa and Sarah tried to put on inoccent faces but it didn't fool their mother as she yelled at them to warm the egg up before it died. Marfa scrambled on top of the egg like chickens do and sat there and Sarah tried to put her arms around the egg to warm it with her body heat as their mother glared at them, as the other chick flew back up the tower while no one noticed. Sarah opened her bag again, ready to put the egg back into it and run away from the tower and to the bannir kinder headquarters with her mother and Marfa. After she put the egg in with Marfa they ran after their mother into the van.

Satin Regret
((Ooh, my harpy seems like a bookworm! LIKE ME! xD Awesome <3))

Niko fidgets a little as she remembered the little harpies words when she picked her up. She gently takes the child from Zuko, crooning softly. "It's alright, the books'll all be safe, I promise. Judging from all that dust and dirt up there and on you-" She grins"-I doubt anyone's been up there for years, and even knows the books are there, so they'll probably be safe long enough for us to come back another time and snatch some." She smiles encouragingly, starting to brush some of the dust and dirt of the girl's feathers. "How you could stand getting this much dirt and grime on you, I don't know, but I'm definately giving you a bath later..." She laughs nervously as she hears most of the guards running by. At Miroku's question, she focuses on him, biting her lip for a moment before saying "I can drive, though not the best. I can get us outta here, at least..."

Zuko grins as the harpy is taken from his arms, and dusts himself off, sending bits of soft down and feathers that had fallen off the chick flying around. Looking around, he trots up to Miroku. "I can drive too-"

Niko's eye twitches. "Oh? And when you aquire this particular talent, Shizuko?" She asks icily.

He winces, but grins sheepishly, staying silent and folding his arms.

[Tree]
Tree gathered the harpy chick into her arms and crooning softly made her way over to the windowsill. "Shh, it's gonna be allright." She whispered. Grabbing on to the rope the young woman hoisted herself down the building. "Selina, Callista get to the car!" She called.
Selina nodded and grabbing Callista's wrist pulled her into their green explorer. Buckling the angel girl's seatbelt, she plopped down next to her and anxiously watched Tree as she made her way to the car with the harpy chick.
Callista shivered, this was scary. "Selina who are all these people and why do they want to hurt the harpies?" She asked huddling in the backseat.
"Because they're evil, Cally." Selina told her little sister. "But we're all going to be safe. You, me, Tree, the harpy chicks and everyone else who came to rescue them. We're all going to be okay." She said comfortingly putting a gentle hand on Callista's shoulder.
Tree landed clumsily on the ground, righted herself and ran for the car. As the woman jumped into the back seat she looked worriedly at the rest of the people. "Anyone need a ride?" She called.

Kirea Mitsu
(Love His Dark Materials. and the theif lord)

"I'm not a demon!" Keiko protested, looking mildly peeved as she quickly pulled open the jacket to let out the vicious chick. "Are you sure you don't want my jacket?"

There was no time for a response. Clinging to harpy and bible, Keiko slipped over the windowsill, lowering them carefully to the ground. She jumped the last several feet, and hightailed it over to the van, leaping in.

The chick seemed shocked.. she had been saved? by a stupid human? She snarled, but reluctantly accepted her. She owed her one after all, right? She decided she could still kill the other humans though.

After her successful attempt at catching the harpy's leg, Silvia looks up at the windowsill to see Avani slowly climbing down the rope, her trembling visible from her hanging vantage point. When Avani reached her, she urged her daughter to wrap her arms around her neck, and tie a vine around the harpy's leg, leaving a hand free to maneuver herself to climb down the rope. After doing so, Avani just clutched to Silvia's back, her face buried in her silver hair. Having checked the vine to be sure it was tight, she started belaying herself down, slowly. It wouldn't do to let the harpy get injured, not after all this work. . . not to mention I think, with its attitude, it'd probably come back to haunt me! she thought with a grimace. Seeing Zhome and Arafel burst from the door, Silvia stops her climb down until Arafel can lead them away. Good luck, she thought to herself, hoping Arafel and Zhome wouldn't get hurt.

((sorry about taking so long to reply sweatdrop ))

MoogerMint
(( *pokes thread* Arrgh, it did eat it. Twice. >.<; So sorry about that. I lost the link here for a bit, otherwise I would've fixed it sooner. Luckily, I saved it. I just made some changes and here it is! My catch-up postie!

And with it a bit of bad and unexpected good news. I recently had my DSL and internet disconnected due to unpaid bills. Then, over the weekend of my birthday it miraculously came back without us paying any of the bills. So, whether this is just a fluke or something, I think I'll be here for at least a little while longer. If I disappear again, you'll know why, but I WILL come back. It'll only be temporary! ^.^ ))

Pyromia watched at a distance as the birds fled into the broken wall among the pile of books. He snorted, annoyed although he knew they may do this. He glanced over at MoogerMint and Gingitsune, the latter trying to get the former to use her as a cane. MoogerMint refused however, her usual stubbornness showing through. Mikadzuki trotted over to Pyromia after making sure everyone else was safe above the sill, never one for large groups. Gingitsune started bumping her body against Mint's leg lightly as her own version of a nudge. "You need to, Moogz! You're hurt!"

"I can still walk! It's just my arm that was damaged, that's all," she replied gruffly before stopping in front of the two male wolves. She looked to the books just as the last of the harpies disappeared behind the wall and sighed. "This is going to be difficult," she concluded.

"What are we going to do?" Pyromia asked, looking to the fox-anthro with questioning eyes.

But before she had any time to answer, the VonHelson's mansion began wailing its loud cry in reaction to a burglar. Moogz's ears were almost simultaneously flattened back against the alarm's shriek as she cringed, bracing herself for the worst. "Sh--Okay! We've got to be quick about this! We need to save any and all chicks we can and get out of here! Got it?"

They all nodded, but it was only Gingitsune who spoke, "How are we going to do that?"

MoogerMint grumbled, the sharp noise getting to her. "I don't know, but gently! We don't want to scare them further!"

"I think that would prove to be quite impossible," Mikadzuki finally spoke, "but we will save them, I promise." MoogerMint smiled, and they were off.

She never gave a second thought to who had done it like the others had, shrugging it off as a missed trap in that very room. To her, it could have been any of them that tripped the wire.

She bit her lip as the others hurriedly converged on the tiny harpy chicks, afraid that she may not be able to save one or, worse, that they'd be even more frightened. The alarm was bad enough, even to Moogz herself, but all these people...

Arafel
MoogerMint-
((since your post was eaten by gaia I'm NPCing you XD sorry sorry))
After everyone seemed to have been gotten out mooger was about to leave. But the faint whimpering noises drew her attention to the deep darkness of the books.
In some way (your choice) she finds the chick. And picking up the small girl makes her way back out and down.

As they began clearing around the bookcase and fleeing from the tower, Moogz was unable to see any other harpy chicks. "They must've grabbed them all," she muttered, turning to her wolf friends to make for their departure. She was stopped abruptly, however, by the sound of soft whimpering. She turned around, giving an awkward glance to the books as she listened harder. It wasn't difficult to decifer the whimpering from the silence, as everyone had by now left without her. She turned back to the wolves with a worried glance, "We need to find that chick everyone! Can you three sniff it out?"

"Of course!" Gingitsune barked urgently, quickly skittering over to the bookshelf.

Pyromia watched her and quickly followed. "We're on it!" he replied, followed closely behind by Mikadzuki. The three sniffed about the bottom of the bookshelves where a ton of books had been strewn about unwontedly. MoogerMint herself dug carefully through the upper pile of books, trying to find the frightened chick.

With a sharp yelp of surprise, everyone turned to see the harpy latched onto Mikadzuki's nose, terrified. "Ehh.... I found her," he said, trying to hide his unnerved expression from his face.

"Oh!" MoogerMint gasped as she ran over to the two, scooping up the small harpy child gingerly. "She's terrified! Let's get out of here," she directed, mounting atop Pyromia once again as they took off out the window.

But Pyromia had much difficulty in-flight, much as Nikomas had before with the same problem. "Combined, you are too heavy! I can't stay aloft with you both on me like this!" he panted, pumping his wings harder than he has ever pumped them before. But Moogz was at a loss for words. She couldn't just leave the poor child! Not to mention that there was nowhere to leave her... What was she going to do?

"I'll take her," Mikadzuki spoke, flying steadily beside Pyromia.

"What!?"

"I said I'll take her," he repeated. "She at least knows me a bit more than Gingi here." Reluctantly, Moogz held out the harpy child within grasping range of the moon-marked wolf as he carefully grabbed her about the scruff of her neck, much like he would a normal downed beast of prey if it not for his tender touch.

"I'm heading down now, you two follow in close suit," Pyromia ordered, dropping quickly to the ground floor with MoogerMint to catch up with the others. Next came Gingitsune, between the alpha and beta males to keep an eye on both, followed by the slow and careful descent of Mikadzuki with his light grab on the female harpy chick, who shivered in return. Once at the bottom, MoogerMint swiftly snatched up and bundled the little girl in her coat, smiling at all of them for a job well-done.

Miroku returned to the group "Mother will be meeting everyone back at the center." he smiled, folding up the rope. "And. I bleive we need to hurry." he nodded, moving to get to the van hidden off road "Aa.. Who here can drive?"

MoogerMint laughed a bit uneasily, imagining herself driving a car, let alone a van. "So sorry, but not me," she cringed, hugging the harpy close as she felt her shiver a bit more.

(( 'Tis quite alright you NPC'ed me, Arafel! You had no choice, and you did good! ^^ And great idea to make me last out; I'm so slow to reply with all this happening. I'll be here more often while my DSL lasts! ))

4.A very beautiful girl.. suprisingly enough. Shes smart, and has a great taste in music.. though its her natural ability to sing she would never use it for evil like a normal harpy. She may act shy but its more of a withdrawn thing, she has the utmost confidence in herself and hardly lets anythign phase her. A true dreamer really.

5. Ua! poor baby... shes missing a wing.. it seems liek a defect. She was hiding of fin a corner, though she's just as lovely as her musical sister she seems as though her self-esteem is dead and burried.

MoogerMint-
1-the only male harpy in the bunch (male harpies are incredibly rare o_O) seems to be a bit.. gay. He's rather femminine, and if it weren't for the anatomy you would think him to be just another girl. He's rather shy.. but when he puts his mind to something he can be quite outgoing.

were girl-
2.This ones still an egg! Seems to be a late hatcher.. but the egg is still alive, so with the propor nurturing she'll hatch.

Madness_insanity-
6. Oh my is she a live wire.. Its almost as if she found the von helson sisters secret stash of suger. She's allready flying! Okay maybe not perfectly but shes definatly using her wings to jump farther. She has an incredibly hyper, go get'um attitude.. She's up for any challenge, and goes at it with all her strength.

Keiko Mitsu-
7. Well.. most harpies are supposed to stay naked.. but where as all the others didn't mind the clothes that much, she absolutly hates them. She's allready shredded five pair. but other than her incredible hate for clothes she's a goody-too-shoes. Very neat and well kept, and constantly nagging her other siblings one whats right and wrong from a bible she found.

Nikomas Torren-
8. This one is.. wise. A more street smart than book, though she seems to have a nice amount of both. She tends to go off by herself to read up on culture, or anythign else she can find that has "class" She's not gernally a snog, mind you.. Acctually she has a rather warm feel about her. She just knows things that most people don't know until they're 20, and even more than some of them.

Silvia Angelia-
3.A through and through harpy.. she generally hates humans, or anything for that matter. She's really hard to keep under control. But .. her wings are coming in nicely.

Simple Pleasures

As they got into the van, a driver picked out, MoogerMint had to tell her wolves off. "We're heading back to the adoption center. You guys remember where that is, correct?" she instructed, the five wolves nodding. She smiled, patting the nearest one's head in a sort of thanks and then scooting in to close the van's door. The wolves backed up, watching the van drive away before starting after it via the forest.

Inside the van, MoogerMint finally loosened her grip on the little harpy chick in her arms. As she looked down at her, she saw the large green eyes peer back at her from under a fold of her coat, watching her curiously with some fingers in her mouth, much like a human toddler would do. She smiled down at the harpy, quietly speaking, "Hey there, little one!" She poked the child's nose lightly, making her eyes cross as she watched the finger inch close then pull away. MoogerMint giggled at her reaction, pulling the child into a hug.

The kinder let out a squawk of surprise, arms flailing around for support. "What--!?" the child squeaked from MoogerMint's grasp, and the kitsune immediately released her grip.

She stared down at the harpy as the child steadied itself, surprised as she finally realized a crucial detail. "You're... you're a boy!" she exclaimed.

The child stared up at her with his wide, pale green eyes, frowning a little. His look seemed to speak volumes, as if he were saying, "You didn't know that?" But his gaze soon lessened in intensity as he looked shyly about the van. All these people... it made him nervous. Pulling closer to the only person he knew, the harpy chick grabbed at MoogerMint's coat and tried to hide himself in it.

MoogerMint smiled, snickering slightly at his reaction. She tousled the toddler's brick red hair lovingly, giving him a quick wink. He blinked up at her nervously, eyes shadowed by her coat but still brightly visible. He leaned into her, feathered ear at her stomach as he tried to relax and endure the ride back to the adoption center, though MoogerMint could still see the intense fear in his eyes. She bit a lip, wishing there was some way to make him feel more comfortable. Maternal instincts must be taking over, she thought with a wry grin.

The trip was long, longer than expected as the driver had some difficulty driving over branches and other such obstacles in the dirt roads, but that time was spend bonding with the harpy child in her lap through time together, though no words were exchanged between them. However, though the two of them were silently riding along, the other harpy children were less-than manageable, especially for the one that had snipped the line. But no matter how loud it was, through all the commotion the boy was still able to fall asleep in MoogerMint's lap. She realized this with a start as she looked to him after some time staring out the windows, and she nearly melted in place. He looked so angelic sleeping there, so peaceful, and it made her want to believe this was the start of a beautiful family, though she knew there was no way of knowing that for sure.

However, whatever fate may have in mind, she was content just knowing the harpy boy would be with her.

Adoption

MoogerMint had a bit of difficulty maneuvering herself and the harpy child out of the door of the van without waking him up, but after a few moments she was able to do just that. The boy stirred slightly, wrinkling his nose to the change in temperature, or perhaps just to a dream, but MoogerMint made a point to walk carefully and silently along through the adoption center's front door.

Although the forms to fill out were few yet strict, Moogz found it very hard to hold the paper still while holding the boy steady. He ended up opening his eyes after a big yawn and stretch, confused at first at the change in atmosphere. "Where... am I?" he asked the kisune quietly, remembering who she was after a start.

MoogerMint nearly jumped at the sudden sound of the child's voice, looking from the registration form and smiling. "You're at the Banir Kinder Adoption Center. I'm going to be adopting you, is that all right? I'll be your mother and take care of you all the time, help you out when you need help, be your friend..." she explained, piquing the child's interest.

The boy also seemed a little shocked at her explanation, a little scared at the matter. He barely knew the woman, and preferred to keep on living with his siblings as a family. "What about... my sisters? Why can't I live with them?" he asked, voice shaking at the thought of never being able to see them again.

MoogerMint's mouth twisted at the child's question, worried that he may cry. "You all need special, individual attention and a mother or father to care for you, to love you and watch out for you. I know it's hard, but you'll see each other again in no time! I promise. We hate to split you all up, but not one of us could care for all of you at once, I'm sorry. It's okay that I take care of you, isn't it? Or would you rather someone else did?" she explained, a hopeful question on the end for the young boy.

He wasn't sure that he understood completely the situation, but was hesitant to ask further into the matter. If he was able to see his sisters again, that was all that really mattered. If he wasn't able, he would have lost a great portion of his heart along with the girls. As for her question, he turned his head in thought. There was no other person he knew of that he could truly trust, and she had saved him from something he couldn't quite comprehend yet: death. He peeked back up at her, ears twitching as he asked with a shy smile, "Will the wolves be with us?"

MoogerMint looked surprised at his question, thinking the boy would have been terrified of the canines before she remembered him latching onto Mikadzuki's nose and the trip to ground level. She smiled sweetly down at the harpy chick and answered, "But of course! They would love to help me take care of you."

The boy grinned widely, finally giving a straight answer, "Then yes, I would like to live with you." The boy's words were so formal it nearly knocked the kitsune woman back with surprise. She wondered if he was able to read books and maybe that is where he had learned to speak so well, but either way he seemed very mature for his age.

With a smile the kitsune woman said, "Well then welcome to the Seishin family, little one. My name is MoogerMint. Do you have a name, or do we need to pick one out?"

The boy blinked a few times, but ended up scrunching his nose again before speaking. "I don't think so..." he answered after a brief pause.

"Well, I've got a list of names here. Would you tell me which ones you like?" she asked, smile great. The boy nodded vigorously, finding the prospect of a name to be fun. "Okay, I've got here... Altair... Avis... Byrd... Hajari... Mavis--"

"Hajari!" the boy chirped, immediately taking a liking to the sound of the name. "Hajari..." he repeated, getting used to the sound as referring to him.

MoogerMint snickered at his reaction, nodding. "Okay, then, I dub you Hajari Seishin. Sound good?" she asked, fond the name as well. The harpy child nodded, repeating the full name with a giggle as she wrote the name on the adoption papers.

MoogerMint
MoogerMint walked up the two flights of stairs to the third floor, looking around the long hallway to find Room 22. Her hand squeezed the key tightly, almost as if she were afraid someone may try to snag it from her hand. Although the kitsune was learning to deal with her "trusting" nature and was coming a long way with it, she still had her days. She clutched her newly-adopted son in her arms, the toddler looking around bright-eyed at all the new surroundings.

She strode down the hallway until she came across the room she was looking for, turning her head from side to side as a precaution that nobody else was here. She fumbled with the harpy in her arms and moved him to one arm as she straightened the key in her hand, sliding it into the lock and opening the door. She had stopped by previously, and sighed with relief when she saw that everything was just as she left it.

The harpy chick's eyes grew wide at all the space, and fidgeted in MoogerMint's grasp until she let him down. He dashed into the den and looked around, trying to get used to all this furniture he had never seen before. MoogerMint placed her index finger to her bottom lip, a smile spreading on her features. "Come on, Hajari. Would you like to see your bedroom?" she asked, closing the door behind her and turning on the lights.

Hajari turned to face her, eyes wide in surprise. "Bedroom?" he squeaked. He got his own bedroom? He turned around and ran to MoogerMint, clutching onto her pant leg and beamed up at her, taking a single nod. "Mm!"

She led the boy to the back of the entrance and turned down the hallway, stopping at the first door to the left. It was open, and Hajari immediately dashed in, admiring the bed. At the foot of it was a chest, and Hajari ran to it to open the latched top. MoogerMint mosied on over to help him lift the heavy lid, and as he peered in he saw a few toys. He reached in and pulled out a box of Tinker Toys, and MoogerMint grinned down at him. "I hope you like those. They were my favorite when I was your age," she said as he put them back and closed the chest, a wide grin on his face.

He went over to the dresser and immediately caught a glimpse of a colorful cage on top. He turned his head upward and reached to touch it. MoogerMint followed and grabbed the cage before he accidently knocked it over, placing it on the ground. Inside the plastic enclosure was what looked like a fox-tailed mouse, colorings like that of night and bedazzled with star-spots. He smiled and looked up at MoogerMint, asking, "Mine?"

MoogerMint's smile grew even wider as she saw his happiness, and she nodded. "She's what's called a volu. Her name's Twilight. Do you like her?" she asked, already knowing the answer as she read the emotion in his eyes.

"Hi, Twilight," Hajari said softly, unlatching the door to the cage and sticking a small hand in to rub her chest with his finger. MoogerMint nearly jumped as he did so, and was about to stop him for fear of him scaring the volu into biting him, but Twilight only chittered and sniffed at his hand. Hajari giggled delightedly, patting the volu on the head. "I love her," he said as he ran up to MoogerMint and hugged her around the knees with his winged arms.

"My room is just across the hall if you ever need anything, okay?" she explained as she rubbed the harpy's bright red head. Twilight stuck her head out at the two of them, but remained obediantly in her cage. This was exactly the reason she decided to give Hajari this particular volu, and smiled at her as she went back inside her cage and curled up.

"Okay," Hajari chirped, sing-song fashion and ran back to Twilight's cage, enthralled.

MoogerMint's Diary
Entry #1

Blah, enough with the cliche "Dear Diary" stuff, let's just get down to the meat! What a day it's been! I'm now the proud adoptive mother of a harpy child that has named himself Hajari, and he is fitting in well with the family after just one night.

The rescue was awful, as nearly everything that could go wrong... did. I dislocated my arm, the alarm had gone off, and worst of all, Amanesh was almost released. If I didn't know better, I could've sworn the tower would've crumbled. I never want Hajari to see that side of me, even if it's not me. That demon is nothing but trouble, pure and simple. If he came out... I just don't want to think about what kind of chaos and carnage that would've ensued. Luckily, Gingi, Mika, and Py had my back and kept that from happening, thank the gods.

Hajari, although still adjusting himself to this new lifestyle, is blending in great with the family. I could even swear he's my own flesh and blood, at least personality-wise, though he's much better at handling his shyness then I ever was. The kid has great potential, that's for sure. Now if only he could get the hang of using utensils at the table... >.<; All in due time, I guess. We've all gotta start somewhere.

Oh! And before I forget, this guy has some of the oddest interests! He loves the pack! Sure, I was hoping to get one that didn't mind them, but sometimes he won't go anywhere without knowing how they're doing! He's become as attached to them as I have! He's especially close to the darkest of the pack, Mikadzuki, against all odds. Not to mention Mika is just as protective of him. I know it has everything to do with the bond they encountered when Mika had found Hajari at the tower, but it's so cute! He still doesn't have any idea how to play with the toys I got him, but I'll teach him. ^_~

The future holds many things, and I'm hoping our journey will be filled brightly! Gotta go now, I can still hear that little guy tossing and turning in bed. I left the door open just in case this happened.

Escaping Dreams

It had been a week or so, at least how Hajari had thought it as being, and he hadn't slept decently in days. It wasn't like the room at the top of the tower, where he was surrounded by family. This place was so different, and so hard to get used to. The wind on his back from the open wall was replaced by the air conditioner in the warmer months and heater when it was cooler, the air stale. He no longer heard the lullaby of nightingales and owls to soothe his mind, nor could he see the bright moon at night. He wrapped his covers tightly about his shoulders, keeping himself covered as he shivered not from cold, but from unfamiliarity.

He glanced about the room avidly as he tried to tell one shadow or silhouette as one thing or another, still unable to identify some objects until the light was on. He used to be able to tell everything apart, used to be able to put a name to every shadow he saw in his room. It was so weird to be in an unfamiliar place like this, boarded by wooden walls instead of stone and the only light coming from MoogerMint's table light across the hall into his opened doorway.

Even through all this unfamiliarity, he found his eyes heavy with fatigue and soon he was drifting to sleep. He heard the click of MoogerMint's light as she turned it off, and knew nothing more of the real word.

His eyes opened to the all-to-familiar surroundings of the tower, the warm sunlight creeping its way across the room in a new day. He yawned and stretched, making his way down the confines of the bookcase he rested on. Everyone was still asleep, but he knew if he made any loud noises he would wake them up. He walked slowly and carefully to the window, gingerly making it so his talons barely made a sound on the concrete floor. Upon reaching his destination, he heaved himself up onto the thick windowsill, gazing out across the land.

This scenery he only ventured to in his dreams, a land so full of mystery. All his life he had only known the tower room on the top floor. Only his mother and father were able to spread their wings and get a look at the world beyond, and they had not come back for days. He was hungry and worried, afraid that they might never come back.

Then a thought dawned on him: what if they didn't want to come back? Had they abandoned them? Were they left to fend for themselves? He shivered as a slight breeze kicked up, or perhaps to the thought. That must've been it. One of them at least would be able to come back, right? At all costs they said they would protect the nest, and yet they were failing. Him and his sisters were starving, lacked proper warmth during the nights, and lacked the supervision and love of a parent.

He held his shoulders as he glared out over the landwaiting for who would never come back. They just left them here to die. They didn't care.
I hate them!

Hajari jerked awake, startled by the thoughts that ran through his head during the dream. Hate them? They weren't abandoned; their parents cared for them! Something must've happened to them!

Unnerved, Hajari threw the covers back from him and jumped off the bed, skittering into MoogerMint's room. He was afraid to wake her up, though. Would she be mad at him for doing so? But he was afraid, and she said she wanted to do the best she could for him... Swallowing his fear, he came to her bedside and reached up to grab for her arm. Shaking it lightly, he said, "Moogz? I had a bad dream. Was I... was I abandoned?"

The kitsune woman glanced about the room drowsily, rubbing her eyes before she spotted the harpy chick standing beside her, obviously scared. She smiled weakly down at him and grabbed his shoulder gently, replying, "No, no! Your parents... they just probably ran into trouble. They would never just abandon you!"

Hajari looked up at her gently before giving a swift nod. His eyes still told her otherwise, however, and after a moment she thought of a way to help him sleep. Trailing him behind her, she walked down the hall to the storage room at the back of the apartment. Upon entering, she immediately opened a box and began digging through its contents. "What are you looking for?" Hajari chirped.

As he asked, MoogerMint caught sight of what it was she was looking for. With a grin, she pulled out a white blanket about the size of Hajari and held it up to him. Hajari gazed at it with questioning yet pleased eyes and held his hand out to touch it. "This was mine for a long time when I was your age. It helped me sleep a lot when I was worried about things. Now, I think... it's time that you had it," MoogerMint explained, handing it to him.

Hajari looked up at her with wide eyes, squeaking a, "R-Really?" As Moogz nodded, Hajari snatched up the blanket and held it close to his head and chest. With a gleeful laugh, he giggled, "It's so soft!"

"I'm glad you like it so much!" Moogz snickered, tousling the boy's hair. "Now, it's time for you to get back to bed. I'll let you sleep in, okay?"

Hajari gave a vigorous nod, wide smile painted on his face before he skittered off to bed.
