Brenner
Q sidled up to Angie, holding something behind his back.

"Oy! Sunny's got a preeeesent for you," he sing-songed, grinning. "Taa da!"

He held out his hands, revealing a sealed jar and an official-looking letter.

"Be careful, I almost dropped it on the way here!" Q grinned sheepishly and trotted away, waving goodbye.

Away from it all, closer than one would think, the fox-girl sat in the nest of the tree she'd made for herself. One leg swung idly as she wrote in her notebook, nearly touching the ground with each stroke. A soft humming wafted up into the air as now and then, she heard a song that she liked on the mp3 player. She was nearly oblivious to anything around her, so lost was she in the writing and the music. Angie wasn't alone either. A horse-like creature grazed nearby, his brown coat glistening in the scattered sunlight, and a pair of large winged cats lounged around at the base of the tree she sat in.

It was in this position that Q found them all in, lazing around in the sunshine, each in their own little world. Angie almost didn't see the quagga as he sidled up to her. When she did notice him, however, she started, quickly shutting off her mp3 player and sitting up, dropping her notes in the process. "OH! Darn it. I'm so scatterbrained. I'm sorry." She hopped down to gather her pages up before standing up to greet him formally. He seemed the comical sort in his sing song voice, bringing a smile to her face. "Why, thank you!" The fox-girl took hold of the jar and letter, taking a quick glance before looking back at Q confused. Almost dropped it on the way here? Quickly turning the jar around, she made sure it was alright. It wasn't that she thought he'd hurt it, she just....was already rather protective.

By the time she'd made sure everything was okay, Q had already left. "Oh dear, I hope the fellow doesn't think I thought he'd harm you..." She was whispering to a test tube. Could you get much stranger than that? Already, her eyes were alight with twinkling stars. This was hers, a new little life to help learn about this wide wide world. Would she be a proper mother to the little creature? Would she be everything he or she needed? What would it look like and would it like her? It wasn't like she was like most of the rest of the world. Being human with fox parts kind of set her aside from the rest of the population, part of the reason why she avoiding large groups...

Sighing happily, she curled up in her nest, arranging the test tube so it set lightly upon the bed her tail made for it. Such wondrous potential she saw within the glass, so many questions she had, yet she wasn't completely certain she wanted to ask them. A part of her wanted to find out the answers for herself. And most of them would best be answered that way. Murring softly, Angie leaned her head against the tree. Her eyelids were growing rather heavy.. Maybe a nap wasn't such a bad idea. The rest of her animal companions were drowsily napping, which made her even drowsier. She could ponder more questions later, for now all of them could use a nice refreshing nap....

Yawning, Angie closed her book and reached down to take hold of the jar with her new charge in it. Such a tiny little thing.... She looked forward to meeting him when he was ready. A quick glance toward the mansion, then a longing look towards her own home. Eh, it was worth a shot to see what all was going on there right now, if anything. Besides, she was just lounging around on the grounds anyway, might as well peek in and say hi, as to not be rude...

Detaching herself from the tree she leant against, Angie gathered up her pack and jar, and headed towards the door. She hadn't seen any life around here since she came by, but she'd also been engrossed in such a good book.....

Opening the front door, she poked her head in with a soft "Anybody home?" Voices were heard somewhere else, but she wasn't sure which way to wander to find them. Her tail twitched in a lazy fashion, her ears swivelling like radars, trying to find the source of the voices.

Following her nose with the scent of coffee and other foody aromas tickling her senses, Angie weaved through different rooms, abruptly stopping as she hit the kitchen and the activity bustling within. A shocked look froze on her face, she hadn't expected quite this many people in one area at a time. She timidly kept quiet, scootching over towards an uninhabited area to lean against a counter, curling her tail about her leg, her ears lowering slightly against her head. But she took the time to glance over each person within the room, as if mentally memorizing them and filing them away to remember them in the future. She'd put names to the faces later...

However, large groups of people just weren't Angie's forte...she felt uncomfortable. A bookworm sort, though she didn't look it. She was short, comfortably dressed, a backpack upon her back. An observant person would notice how gently she put her pack atop the counter, as if something very fragile was in it. There was no sign of her test tube, however that didn't mean it wasn't with her. In fact, it was wrapped safely in a sweatshirt, coiled up in her pack, resting so that it wouldn't spill over, nor would it get jolted too much and upset the living creature inside.

"Uhh...hi?" was about all she could manage...figuring it best to actually -say- something instead of standing, gawking and looking rather foolish.

She tapped her chin in thought, a pensive look entering her veiled eyes. "...I suppose you're right. But it's a big island, there's gotta be other tastyish monsters to eat!"

She turned to X. "I don't want to eat her baby. Not now, anyway. We don't even know if it's gonna turn into a waffle monster yet, and it's not big enough for everyone to share in any case. Except that isn't the case, cause it's HER baby, and SHE should be the one to divvy it up!"

All of this made perfect sense to her, on some level. Somehow.

Vash whirled, a mischievious, secretive grin playing at the corners of his mouth as he appraised the newcomer, eyes warming as he noticed her...tail. Purring soft enough that no one could hear, he got up and approached her slowly, like a lion stalking his prey. "I'm Vashtya...and I don't believe we've met..." he said smoothly.

X raised her eyebrow up at the male voice that had suddenly appeared once more, though the charm had suddenly disappeared.

"Oh does the charm only come out when you're trying to get something you can't have..?

Her tone was seductive and teasing, more the latter though, her eyes gleaming with amusement as she crossed one leg over the other lazily. Laughing to herself as she saw him move to the newer, quieter looking woman who just entered, X just threw up a wave and a sweet smile as a greeting.

And she decided to ignore the baby eating comments, in fact she hoped her baby would eat her first. That'd solve things.

Too many people. Abruptly, Sarabi stood, reinserting the fetus-jar into the sock. Without another word or glance, she left the room, heading quietly back to her room. Paranoid, she glanced over her shoulder many times, until the door to her quarters was safely shut and locked.

Angie blinked, surprised at being approached. She was ill-prepared for conversation, and so stuttered slightly as she tried to answer. "I-....M-mm-my name is Angie." Her voice was soft, but she knew that wasn't acceptable, and so cleared her throat, urging herself to stop being so blasted shy around groups of people. "I uh assume you're also a caretaker of a test tube?" Pointing to her backpack, she quickly unzipped it to reveal her treasure, a rather brown and tan looking creature floating inside. She murred happily as she gently stroked the glass. "I look forward to seeing what this one will look like when it grows."

Vash chuckled, looking slyly over his shoulder and throwing X a playful grin, paired with a lascivious wink. "Oh...I've never yet found there to be anything that I can't have...if I want it badly enough..." he said, lowering his voice to the same purr he'd used on her earlier, although he continued moving towards the shy, quiet woman.

Vash drew to a smooth halt about a foot away from Angie. "Pleasure to meet you." he said, eyes softening slightly. "And I most certainly am...mine's sitting over there on the table, because I can't seem to stop thinking that the test tube looks so...chewable." he stated, eyes twinkling with mirth. "so, for both the fetus and my own safety, I'm keeping my distance for now." he finished, eyes focusing on the way she stroked the glass. Clearing his throat, he shifted slightly, trying to get her attention. "So, are you hungry? 'Cause I think I saw some pie in the fridge..." he said, his voice smooth as velvet.

Inle frowned, waving a good-bye at the woman's retreating form before carefully boosting herself onto the mostly-empty island, seating herself on the edge of it. She grabbed her forgotten cup of sugared sludge, idly attempting to sip at it as she watched the two newcomers. Her boots thudded against the side of the island as she swung her feet.

Oh he reminded her of herself, only he wasn't in truth, because she was one thing he couldn't get, and she would probably be proving that to him.

"Oh not everything love... you couldn't get me no matter how hard you try... I'll bet money on it. Besides, if anyone were to successfully seduce anyone... It'd be me, I promise you..."

Sure X was smug, but she had damn good reason to be, since manipulating men to her will, and sometimes women, was her specialty. It was her life too, and she damn well enjoyed it.

"Are we clear?" Her voice purred as well, but in an almost dismissive manner, her eyes sparkling with amusement still.

Flicking his hair idly out from in front of one sparkling eye the color of quicksilver, Vash arched one perfectly-shaped brow. "Love, I doubt that it'll ever be an issue...but you can bet that I'd never deny you the chance to prove that you could seduce ME..." he said, eyes expressing utter innocence. Waiting a few seconds for his meaning to sink in, he turned back to angie, purring low in his throat again. "Now...where were we?"

Angie blinked rather confusedly. "Chewable?" She pondered what exactly he meant by that. A velvety ear twitched at the mention of pie though. "What kind?" Her curiousness was going to get the better of her. "And why do you say for the fetus's safety and your own?" The fox-girl quirked her head strangely. She was rather confused, but also not completely there. Turning her attention back to the test tube, she gently turned it around, gazing at the little life within. Softly, as if she didn't remember anyone being there besides her, she whispered soft words to it, nothing in particular, just words.

Not one to be ignored, Vash leaned closer, placing his lips mere inches from her ear. "Why, I say the fetus' safety AND my own because, if I were to get carried away in my...chewing, I might break the glass--injuring my mouth AND the young'un...." he said, a little perturbed by the single-mindedness of her focus on the fetus she clutched in her hand. "And it was cherry, I believe" he said idly, remembering that he'd promised pie. mmmyes.

He was persistant, she'd give him that, but his technique could definately use some work, so far what she saw wouldn't turn her fancy.

"Don't wait up for me darling..."

She threw in a wink before standing up, patting her cleavage to make sure that her fetus test tube was still there. Good, Sanura was still safe and warm, and after giving him a sultry smirk, X tugged down her creeping mini.

Maybe she should take that pie before either of those two go to it. 'Hmm.. I wonder what type of pie it is?' X thought to herself lazily, bringing a fingertip to rest idly on her lower lip.

At the mention of chewable fetuses, Inle's feet stopped kicking. She stared at the front of the fridge, which her positioning had placed her across from, as if it were the most intriguing thing in the world. She pondered these fetuses, and then, a lightbulb! "Hey!" she said to the assembled group. "I bet, since these things look kinda chewy and like food and stuff, that they're gonna grow up to BE food, or something. And like, the gooey stuff they're in now, that's gonna be their blood, except it's really some kind of tasty filling." She nodded sagely, her revelation complete.

Grinning, Vash gave her another smirk. "Oh, I won't...after all, even I need my beauty's sleep...." he said nonchalantly.

at Inle's..."brainstorm"...Vash froze. "you really think so?" he breathed, before snapping himself out've what must be food heaven in his imagination, shaking his head determinedly. "No...wait. These are ANIMALS...not fruits or anything organic like that..." he said mournfully. "Now, if we had bits of fruit we'd been given, I might just be thinking that was the case..." he trailed off, seeming to think that over.

"Hmm... you may need to sleep a bit more then, it seems the dosage that you are currently adhering to... ain't doin' s**t for you."

X quipped softly with a grin, since she was obviously enjoying herself, but then she quirked a scared eye at the girl facing the fridge. This girl... was Hannibal Lector reincarnated.

Glancing over at Vashtya again, she nodded. "Cherry. Sounds tasty actually." She gently set the test tube down, although it was obvious she didn't really want to. "Why would you want to....chew on your test tube? You never know what fluid is inside, and I can fairly guarentee it doesn't taste good." Raising an eyebrow at him, she turned to the others in the room. "Uhm...Ahh. Forgive me. My name is Angie. Are you all also guardians?" Granted, she hadn't been paying much attention, but what did you expect from a fox-girl? Her attention span was innocently the size of a gnat....And she was a bookworm besides. That didn't make for a very attentive conversationalist. She totally hadn't caught the revelation by Inle, and probably was for the better because of it.

Tilting his head back, Vash laughed uproariously. "Touche." he said, placing one hand on angie's elbow. "milady?" he said, the title taking on a faint, teasing air as he vaguely gestured her towards one of the stools. "If I may...I'll get you a piece of that pie I mentioned..." he said, waggling his eyebrows playfully.

"Oh I'm X... and tis true I'm a gaurdian... Nice to meet you."

X grinned at the mention of cherry pie, not her favorite, but the color of it reminded her of something she craved at the moment. She just shook that urge aside.

"Oh I don't the we should allow you near any cherries..." The daywalker paused as she tried to think of his name, but couldn't recall it, "Hmm... what was your name again..?" Her voice still kept its sultry tone as she spoke.

Angie started at the touch, but settled down just as quick. "I uhh...sure, that would be appreciated." Hmm not a very lively one, was she? She was still quite nervous over the large group of people she really didn't know. Sure, it was only 3 other people but it didn't help that she didn't know any of them. Talk about throwing yourself head first into an interesting situation.

Oh, yay! One of the others answered her. She had hoped she hadn't been too timid and quiet in her questions. "Nice to meet you too," came the shy reply. This just wasn't Angie's element here...

Inle, being incredibly observant as she wasn't at the moment, only just then noticed the fox-girl. "Hi!" she chirped in the way of the oblivious, "I'm Inle!"

A moment passed. "...did someone mention pie?"

Vash suddenly yawned, but wandered over to the cabinets that were a couple of feet above the countertop, opening them until he found the plates. Then, his quest for forks began. "Alright, who wanted pie?" he asked, even as he opened the fridge, grabbing the pastry he KNEW he'd seen before, and divvying it up quickly, smoothly placing the cut pieces on the plates he'd gotten and sliding the pie back into the fridge before picking up his fetus and sticking it carefully back into his pocket, distributing the pie slices and bowing his head slightly. "I'm exhausted." he said with a grin. "So, I bid you all good night--hope you sleep well." he said, flouncing out of the kitchen and wandering towards his room.

Ruby wandered back into the house, knowing full well that Sunny wouldn't be around, and still feeling a strong urge to hang around the house until the fetuses emerged. She headed directly for the kitchen, offering a small file to the occupants.. except for Inle, who she didn't make eye contact with. At this point the creature had some sort of odd ..ski cap on? And in this weather..? Ruby mentally shrugged it off, though warily stayed away from that one. "I'm glad you guys have found ways to keep yourselves occupied and entertained. "She moved to seat herself (though as far away from Inle as possible) and reached for a cold and no doubt stale waffle.

X waved to the exiting flirt-o-holic, leaving her on her own with one unstable woman, and another very quiet one.

This should be interesting.

EDIT: The young woman saw Ruby walk in and thanked the gods that someone who was semi normal was here, and she waved appreciatively.

"And entertaining it has been. How are you Ruby?"

Inle immediately dug into her slice of pie, waving her fork at the man (whose name she still hadn't caught) as he departed. She ate her pie slowly, savoring its taste as she pondered the possibilities of the life atop her head. She smiled cheerily at Ruby as she entered, not noticing that she endeavored to avoid her. "Hi again!"

The fox-girl graciously accept the offered pie from Vash and began to idly munch on it. She noticed he was leaving however, and scrambled to swallow what was in her mouth before waving. "Sleep well." That was about all she could offer without feeling very...awkward. What else could she say to someone she didn't know?

Glancing at the gorgeous yet strange creature in which wandered in and began talking to them. This person she hadn't met yet, and again started feeling rather.... nervous and quiet. Curling her tail about her leg, which she seemed to do a lot when she was nervous, Angie quietly munched on her pie in silence. Observing the other's however, she gathered that this new one's name was Ruby. But was she a guardian, or what what she exactly...?

Ruby visibly jumped as Inle spoke to her, eyes growing wide, similar to a frightened creature caught in the glaring headlights of a swiftly moving automobile. She sidled up to X, figuring that she'd protect her from the crazy one.

"I'm uh. Fine." She nodded as if trying to convince herself before catching sight of Angie. "I don't think we've met. I'm Ruby, the oldest of the Boundless. And yes.. I'm a monkey." She'd deemed it necessary to notify everyone she met of that fact.

Her attention turned back to Inle. Ruby figured she should offer to be nice to the poor special girl, and tried her best to start up a conversation. "So uh. Where's your Boundless?" After speaking she winced, nearly afraid of the answer she'd receive.

Blinking as she was spoken too, she again quickly did her best to remove the pie from her mouth, swallowing quickly before answering. "I am Angie, and very pleased to meet you." Ahh so she was one of what these little critters would likely grow into? Amazing. She couldn't help but stare at Ruby, not necessarily because OMG MONKEY, but because of how absolutely stunning she was. But of course she wouldn't say that out loud, for fear of looking rather...weird.

Tearing her glance away, she turns her attention to her test tube, pulling the sweatshirt out of her pack to wrap around it, then sticking it against the wall, so there was no chance of accidentally knocking it off and breaking the jar, potentially hurting the little one inside. Indeed, she lead a rather sheltered life since she came to gaia...sad sad thing.

X shifted her eyes to the side at Ruby, and tried to stifle a grin. She had been dealing with the 'special girl' for a good long time now, and X leaned over and whispered while Inle was admiring her pie.

"She's been talking about the Boundless as food... for about an hour now..."

Her eyes stayed on Inle incase she looked up, but luckily the pie was still very attention grabbing apparently. Setting a hand on Ruby's shoulder carefully and in comfort, X patted it lightly as a notification that she would protect her if need be. This would indeed be interesting.

Q poked his head into the kitchen, raising his eyebrows. So many new girls! "Hey ladies," he said, grinning. He walked to the table, grabbed a cold waffle and sitting on the table next to Inle. "Nishe hat," he said to Inle around a mouthful of waffle.

Inle pointed in the general direction of her hat at Ruby's question. She said around a mouthful of pie, "It's safe up here. 90% of a person's body heat escapes from the top of their head, and I figured these things probably need heat to grow otherwise they'll freeze to death and that would REALLY suck and--thanks!" she cut herself off to respond to Q's compliment.

Somewhat manic in mood, Sarabi ran/fell back down the stairs, impossibly managing to keep the sock-covered jar from breaking on her descent. She'd figured that since her bipolar moods were being friendly right now, she might as well take advantage of the situation.

Jauntily swinging the sock to and fro, she stepped into the kitchen, plopping down on a stool near the counter, and setting the jar carefully (more or less) down. She pulled the sock from the fetus, and examined it carefully. It looked more or less the same, so she could only assume no harm had been done.

Ruby nodded at X, her gaze moving to Angie swiftly as she noticed that the fox-girl seemed to stare at her for a moment before tending to her fetus. Ruby was used to it, to a point; she still found it unsettling on occasion.

She focused on Inle once more, bewildered by the strange creature, muttering out, "Don't you get warm..?" before her attention was caught by Q. She rolled her eyes at the quagga, "Bout time you got here."

There was an eyebrow raise when another Boundless entered the kitchen, Q she assumed, but then her thoughts quickly switched to 'yay some testosterone is here!' The truth was, X was much better around men than women, especially women who wanted to eat their children. X shifted in her seat so that she could face Q, her crossed legs absentmindedly switching, as one was falling asleep at the moment. Of course she forgot about the fact that she had her usual short skirt on because they were so comfortable, but she meant nothing in the motions.

"Oy you must be Q, I'm X..."

She smiled and gave a glance over to the girls, including the one who had just came in, before chuckling at Ruby's comment.

"So much love..."

That was news to her. One of them had been mentioning their fetus as food? Shocked, Angie glanced up, just as Q was bounding in. Recognising him from delivering her new wonder to her, she immediately waved at him to catch his attention. "Oh dear me. I'm so sorry if I seemed to ignore you after you delivered my tube. I didn't mean to, really." She felt rather sheepish still about the incident, and still slightly bad about it, thinking that maybe he'd done something to harm the tube, but figured it was better to claim she'd ignored him instead, as to not get him in trouble. She hadn't thought that at all, but had wanted to be careful none the less. She hoped he'd realize what she meant, and forgive her, none the less. Not off to such a good start, now was she?

Snickering to herself, Ruby went to seat herself next to Angie, hoping to get to know the quiet girl better. All of the new Guardians seemed so outgoing, it was nice to meet someone much like herself: quiet.

Skittering around Inle, she plopped down across from Angie. "What'd you name your Boundless?"

She shook her head, but stopped immediately, remembering the fragile fetus atop her head. "Nah, the heat doesn't bother me much, really. And it's just till the...whatever it is cracks, right? I'll be ok. Thanks for worrying, though, or something!" Inle flashed Ruby a happy smile. Finally, she made a friend!

Blushing, she looked fondly at her test tube. "I think...the name Kellen, fits. It means 'mighty warrior'. Maybe it'll help this little one to grow strong and confident. I'll know whether I chose the right name when the little one emerges..." She had rationale, sometimes. Whether it made sense to others or not, was a different story altogether.

Ruby's mouth moved much like a starving goldfish's would, eyes wide on the one wearing her fetus as a hat. She blinked owlishly a few times, visibly gulping. I wonder if she's contagious? Some sort of disease?? Yes, she'd definetly have to talk to Malkia about this one. Now she thinks I'm her friend?? Oh, just great.

"Uhmm. You're ..welcome?"

She turned her attention to Angie, though wary looks were tossed Inle's way. "Kellen. That's a wonderful name, I think. I'm sure he'll grow to be strong and proud." Her gaze clouded for a moment, "He'll need to be.."

Spotting Ruby, Sarabi brightened, and walked over to the humanoid monkey. Waiting patiently until she'd finished talking with the other girl, she cleared her throat. "Hey, do you know if anything bad happens if you put...say...foreign substances in the fetus's jar? Not that I did, per say, just wondering," she finished lamely.

Glancing at Ruby, she caught the hint of what seemed to almost be sadness in her voice as she heard the last few words. Softly she responded with the first thing that popped into her mind. "He will. I'll make sure of it to the best I possibly can. I promise." Somehow, she sympathized with Ruby, although she didn't know what might be wrong, or why she had said that. All the fox-girl knew was this little life was going to have the best chance she could give him. Whether she was enough, would remain to be seen.

Turning her head, she glanced over to the newer girl. This one she hadn't gathered a name from, but had remembered her from earlier. She tried to manage a smile, and succeeded. She wasn't quite as nervous as when she arrived here. Yawning softly, she settled for listening to what the others were saying. No, she wasn't getting sleepy, not at all.

Q looked up at Angie, swallowing his waffle. "'s fine. Nice to see you again."

He then turned his attention to X. He smiled and looked the Guardian up and down appreciatively. "Nice name."

Ruby turned her attention to Sarabi, blinking slightly at the odd question. "I, uh. I don't know if anything will happen, truthfully. I mean, I seriously doubt you can kill it by feeding it something..?" Ruby honestly had no clue, but she got the impression that the girl had, indeed, fed her Boundless something. "All I suggest is not opening the top too much.. might let bacteria get it or whatnot. Never know what can happen."

Zael yawned as he meandered around looking for people. He had a headache the size of earthen Manhattan, and it wasn't going away any time soon. He held a hand to his painful noggin, and found a vacant seat to sit at. He'd been singing to his Boundless - but that had to stop when the headache made it near-impossible to listen to other people TALK - let along singing himself.

Score, male attention, it never ceased to make her happier, or boost her self esteem more.

"Ah, you too... two of the best letters methinks... and we now own em..."

X wanted to evil laugh, but didn't seem the time so she just evil chuckled inside her head for the time being. Though she was finding it amusing how both the males she had met so far seem to be, what's the term...? Manwhores. Very flirty manwhores, and this means X is saved from boredom and low self esteem problems.

"I was wondering... how exactly does a baby go from this," X made a loose motion toward her cleavage, where her Boundless was settled on a necklace, "...to a baby?"

None of these motions were meant to flirt, though X would never deny the attention she received, and the amusement in her eyes showed just that.

Inle yawned as her sugar rush began to abate. She set the now-empty plate on the island next to her, picking up her coffee cup. As went to take a sip, however, she was dismayed to find that the hot coffee had caused the sheer amount of sugar she had put in there to crystalize, forming a sort of coffee-flavored rock candy. Inle frowned, turning the cup upside down, eyes scanning the kitchen as if searching for something. "Is there an ice pick somewhere I can use?"

"Hah!" With a triumphant glance at Inle and X, Sarabi nodded to Ruby. "Thank you, that's what I thought." Turning, she strode off, back to her unattended jar on the counter. She seated herself, then turned to scan the room idly, not really interested in talking, but curious to see the others talking among themselves.

Ruby seemed to choke on something at Inle's question, "Ice pick?!" Gods help us if that one came across something sharp. "Don't you mean a toothpick?"

Zael stroked the fingers of his unoccupied hand gently over the glass of his fetus' jar. It was only a matter of time now - he'd called Dragon a couple of hours ago with the instructions, and was supposedly going to get the package via dragon [the animal] shortly.

Inle blinked blankly at Ruby's question. "No, I mean an ice pick. I'm trying to get the coffee out." She waved the cup at Ruby upside down as if to demonstrate her point. "And...maybe a hammer."

X greeted the man from earlier with a nod before eyeing Ruby in a side glance, but then immediately peered over to Inle. 'Ice pick? Wait...' She shook her head and decided not to get into this, all else fails she could teleport herself to her room. Away from the baby eater.

Ruby made a muffled sound, getting out of her seat to rummage through a silverware drawer. She removed a spoon and set it near Inle, still wary of the crazy lady. "This'll do you. You can scoop out your cement.. I mean coffee, and not harm yourself or anyone else in the process."

Zael waved a few fingers at X. Then went back to holding his head. The ache wasn't getting better - as a matter of fact, it was starting to get worse.

"Does anyone know where I can get some Asprin?"

The strange X was interesting, Q decided. Definitely worthy of further study. "I'm not sure, I've never actually seen it happen." Q leaned forward slightly. "Maybe it would help if I got a closer look," he said innocently.

Ruby turned from Inle to glance at Zael, compassion filling her dark red eyes. She nodded silently to him, exiting the kitchen to retrieve some of the requested medicine for him. Hefting back a rather large bottle of the stuff, she offered it silently to him before going back to babysit Inle.

Inle's brow rose, shocked at the veiled implication that she was...insane or something! Nonetheless, she took the spoon, stabbing her crystalized coffee in the hopes of breaking a chunk off. "I'm not crazy, or anything...I'm not one of those emo!goth!masochistic!posers that goes around inflicting pain for fun, or whatever." She cast a wary glance at the other occupants in the room, wondering if she really did give off that impression.

Curling her tail up against her chest, she hugged it, sleepily watching everyone, though a bit nervous as she watched Inle. Ice picks were rather...pointy...and dangerous. She may be tired, but still knew that just wasn't...right.

Yawning again, although trying effectively to hide it in her tail, she poked at her test tube.

Journal Entry 11/17/04
I met some of the other guardians yesterday, although I fear might have made some dreadful impressions on them. I don't know what I was thinking, bursting into a room full of strangers, and expecting myself to play it cool, like I did it all the time. Unfortunately, it didn't happen the way I hoped. As usual it ended up with me stuttering and stammering like a love struck school-girl in front of her crush. Not the impression I wanted to make on others of any sort, let alone the group I find myself in guardianship with.

It appears as though the majority of the guardians are female, with two males in the group. At least I don't feel part of the minority in that, however, it also appears that most of them, if not all, are rather outgoing. I'm afraid to know what they might think of me. Crowds make me nervous, make me feel like I'm two inches tall, and make me stutter worse than porky pig. A silly phobia I probably should have gotten over by now, but I obviously haven't yet.

I haven't really made any conclusions about any of the others yet, haven't honestly had enough interaction to decide what they're like yet. However, there's one girl who is on the borderline of strange. Someone said she'd been talking about her test tube child as food? Very strange indeed. The others- I really don't know much about them yet. I suppose I'll have to get to know them better before I can really place a personality with the face, it also helps to be able to place a name with a face but I am afraid to admit that I've forgotten their names already. Scatter-brained me, I really should have been paying more attention.

However, I met the other Boundless, and she is amazing. Such a gorgeous female, unique and quite pleasant in demeanor. I believe her name was Ruby? I shall have to get to know her, and find out more about the Boundless through her. She seems the type to understand and be patient with my shyness and phobia against groups of people. I haven't a doubt that, once I get to know these other guardians more, that I'll be able to be a bit more open with them, but we shall see, when the time comes.

Oh my, I'm babbling on and on, must be the fact that I'm so tired.. I think I shall retire for the night. The test tube is merrily sitting on the floor beside me, a calming sight, although its not moving, and cannot talk back as I read this back to myself. I hate to say it but I think this entry makes less sense than when I was writing it out, and that tells me its time to wrap it up. I'll pick back up tomorrow when I am a bit more coherent.

Good night for now
~Angie

The Boundless
It was quiet as the seal on the jar somehow just.. dissolved, the fetus within nearly disappearing for a moment. It wasn't a jar, but some sort of ..time capsule, melting away when the time was just right.

It did so now, and from within the 'jar' emerged a gorgeous baby boy.

When Angie went upstairs to her room and ended up falling asleep that night, she never dreamed just how much she would miss. Indeed, the night was very active for her, despite the silence in which everything unfolded....

The fox-girl had taken her jar upstairs after having checked out what might be in the fridge downstairs. Finding nothing, she gave into her aching back which wouldn't just wouldn't stop hurting for some odd reason. As she opened up the door to her room, she glanced into the far corner in which a nest of pillows adorned. Within the confines of the pillows rested a special one, a rather squishy one, something of a memory pillow. It was this pillow that Angie made a beeline straight for, gently placing the jar gently atop of it. Once she was sure her charge was safe and wouldn't roll away on her, the fox-girl stood up and began her bedtime preparations, which included changing, pulling blankets out of a pack she'd brought, and arranging them among the pillows. Once she was satisfied, she crawled into her "bed" and yawned, again tending to the seemingly lifeless jar. Repositioning it, tucking the corner of her blanket around it, stroking the lid gently, even whispering a soft goodnight to it. Yeah, Ang was a little obsessed...

It wasn't long before Angie's soft murmurings drifted off into silence, her breathing deepening, lengthening, signalling that the fox-girl was indeed asleep. It had been quiet in the room up until the moment she'd drifted off to dreamland, oblivious to what the night was about to happen beside her. The action started out as a barely noticable vibration within the jar, the gooey substance within barely moving at all. Over the course of an hour, however, the vibrations grew and grew, visibly shaking the water, nearly spilling it over several times. The tiny being within began to uncurl, tiny arms and legs beginning to pop out from the nearly featureless blob. If someone had been witnessing this, it might have been described as the liquid within the jar becoming absorbed by the tiny life-form, and acting almost like a Miracle-Gro for the little fella. More and more like a tiny animal he was becoming, and less like the unmoving lump of baby that he had once been.

Stronger yet, the vibrations became, making it a miracle that Angie didn't feel them and wake up wondering what was going on. Blissfully dreaming about something other than the little jar, or the pain in her back, the fox-girl smiled and rolled over in her sleep, her hand gently knocking against the jar and tipping it over slightly. But nothing leaked out, nor did it disturb what was going on in and out of the jar. Inside, the little creature was growing at almost alarming rates, engulfing the jar, appearing to be squished inside of it. Yet the outside of the jar was becoming a jelly like substance which, in turn, began to become absorbed by the "hatchling" as he continued to grow. Now looking more like a baby deer, the living blob began moving, causing more of the jar and liquidy substance to be absorbed. It wasn't much longer before a slightly damp little deer lay in the place of the jar on the soft pillow.

Like any other creature, the little deer began to nose around, looking for his "mama". Hearing and feeling, for the first time, Angie's breathing, the small bundle began to wobble and crawl his way towards the source of the warmth and comfort. It was quite an effort to reach Angie's face, though it was less than a foot away, but the little deer triumphantly reached her and nuzzled his nose against hers. Still dead to the world, Angie simply responded to the soft wet nose by 'mmmph'ing and rubbing her nose, then hugging the pillow that the poor thing had alighted upon to her chest. Exhausted by the effort it took to get that far, the little deer curled up at her chest, falling asleep almost instantly. There'd be more to explore later, but he was just too tired...

..... It wasn't until morning's first light, and her alarm clock, that Angie realized something was different. Her sweatshirt was slightly damp at the arm and chest for some odd reason. First thought that came to mind because of it was the jar had tipped. Stormy grey eyes fluttered open instantly, looking towards the empty pillow she knew she'd placed her little one upon. Nothing. But where was it? It hadn't walked off on its own. In a panic, the fox-girl sat up and began to look around the room, but a small protesting squeak brought her to her senses, drawing her glance downward. A tiny little deer lay beside her, unhappy because the warmth and comfort had moved and suddenly left him. She couldn't help but stare at the poor thing. Was this the little one who'd been so tiny and lifeless in that jar? If so, where'd the jar go? She gently lifted the little fella up, cradling him to her chest as she wagged her tail happily. No matter how he'd arrived, though she missed it she was still pleased. An ear flicked, listening to the tiny squeaks she heard as she saw the little mouth move.

"Awww, look at you little one. Already mouthy and only a few hours old, if that even." Angie smiled and cuddled him before whispering one word, "Kellen...." It'd been the name she'd told Ruby she was pondering on naming the little tyke. And though he was so small and frail now, she could tell that the meaning behind the name would fit him well. "Welcome to our world, Kellen..." Laying back down with the newly named deer in her arms, the fox-girl drifted back off into a light nap, the snoring from Kellen pointing out that she was still quite tired herself...

The Boundless
FIRST QUEST!!

You can perform this quest as an individual or with a group. You will need to arrange going to Adhimu with another Guardian (or two, or three. No limit, but it must be consensual and continual.) While you are in Adhimu, enjoy the sights. Your actual quest will be to go to the small store in Adhimu and find a gift for your Boundless. These gifts are up to you to decide, but they must be simple. (A small sailboat toy, a rustic plush, shell jewelry. These gifts will be drawn by Brenner later, so please be descriptive.) Your quest will not be looked over until you have arrived back at the Hurul-ayni Estate. This quest is worth statistic points if RP'd and completed start to finish. They will be determined after the RP is completed. There is no time limit on this quest, but eight days would be ideal. (That should give you enough time to correlate and RP.) You may RP in journals, in a private thread, or in the main thread. Since the holidays are coming up, and there are a certain few of you who cannot get online much, a daily post in your journal depicting what happened each day of your travels will be acceptable, as well.

Trip to Adhimu - Part 1

Vashtya Elf: Yawning, Vash rolled over, as usual, stopping mere inches from squishing the helpless baby Ryo. "oops...I keep forgetting you're there, fella..." he muttered, rubbing at his eyes sleepily before poking gently at the young pup in an atttempt to rouse him. Ryo blinked sleepily, his lip curling slightly in distaste at the hour at which Vash had chosen to awaken him, but, obligingly, he got to his feet, yawning widely.

ResurrectedAngie: Downstairs, Angie poked around in the fridge, Kellen hanging safely from a sling she'd devised from her sash. Comfortable, yet functional, it served its purpose to stay with Angie through any given time, and kept her little one by her without filling her hands with fuzz and drool. Tiny squawks wafted up from the sling, alerting the fox-girl to just how hungry the little tyke was. "Alright alright, milk you shall have. Just give me a few and we'll getcha taken care of, alright?" At the sound of her voice, the little being began to squirm, anxious and NOT willing to wait. Oiy, lord have mercy what in the world DID she get herself into?

Vashtya Elf: Stumbling into a pair of jeans, Vash looked around blearily for a clean shirt, picking one up off the floor and sniffing it before nodding, satisfied, and putting it on. Turning back to the bed, he dove for Ryo, who had gotten himself so worked up that he actually started to slide off the bed.

Clunking his head on the bed, Vash cursed darkly, but snuggled Ryo anyhow, wishing the little critter would be more careful sometimes. When the pup nosed at the corner of his mouth, he got to his feet, holding the wolf in one arm, using his other hand to rub at the tender back of his skull. "All RIGHT...let's go get you something to eat, hmm?" he muttered, wincing slightly as he moved towards the stairs, deciding that today was NOT off to a good start.

ResurrectedAngie: Now, the fox-girl was normally of sound mind, however her current attire as of late said otherwise. An altogether long story left unsaid, a dare had caused her to change her clothing choices drastically, but not altogether unpleasantly. A furry tail curled over itself, the rest of the attachment hidden by the low-ish riding leather jeans which wagged slightly from side to side, not in immodesty, but more to the tune of the music in her headphones. The mp3 player at her hip showed that off, however remained unseen as she dug around in the refridgerator. Now if Ang thought someone would be coming downstairs, would she have been in this position? Likely not. But oblivious to anything other than the protesting fawn and the beat of the music, she went about her business, digging aroung for suitable milk and other breakfast fixings, leaving herself wide open for come what may.

Vashtya Elf: Mercifully for Vash, he chose NOT to whistle on his way downstairs that morning...after all, would YOU be whistling with a bump the size of texas on your head? I think not. When he stepped into the kitchen, he was greeted to the sight of a VERY temptingly swaying female behind. Nearly choking on his tongue, he stepped forward, almost without realizing it, Ryo temporarily forgotten...until he nipped at Vash's knuckle in impatience, prompting a surprised yelp from the still-drowsy gaian, who nearly dropped the pup as he flailed about, whacking his elbow on the counter as he did so.

Vashtya Elf: "This is REALLY not my morning..." he muttered.

ResurrectedAngie: Well, she'd remained oblivious up until the part where she heard a faint yelp, and a thump. Frowning slightly, Ang paused in her musings, pondering where on earth that sound might've come from. It wasn't her that yelped, and that thump wasn't Kel falling or anything... So that would mean... "Uh...oh..." Horrifed, Angie quickly rose up, whacking her own head on the refridgerator on her way out. "OUCH!" She cried before turning to stare at Vash with a deer in the headlights look. Well, uhmm, this was rather awkward now wasn't it? "So -sorry. I think." That was about all she could get out. What else could one say when another had found her at her worst, bent over shaking what her momma gave her, humming to music that they probably didn't like?

Vashtya Elf: Smiling crookedly, Vash got slowly to his feet, wincing as he realized that yeah, his elbow was definitely not at 100%. "Darnit Ryo...couldn't you have been just a LITTLE more patient..." he muttered, before giving Angie a slightly embarrassed, but still friendly, grin. "No need to apologize...you didn't know you weren't alone, and I'm certainly not one to complain about the view!" he said, picking Ryo up off the floor by the scruff of the neck, an action that caused the pup to go limp. "Thank goodness...if only you were always that well-behaved..." he sighed, snuggling the wolf to his chest and taking a step towards the fridge. "Anything good in there? I'm thinking Ryo and I are going to take a trip over to Adhimu, so I need to pack a few days worth of food before we leave..." he said, for what must be the first time in his life, he wasn't flirting with an obviously attractive woman...must've been because of his recent brain-scrambling experience.

ResurrectedAngie: Wincing in the direction of the fridge, she shook her head. "I think someone picked over it before we got here. Hungry vultures." She snickered softly before grumbling at her own whiney little one. "Oh hush you. No one asked for your opinion on the subject. Its not like you can eat that stuff anyhow!" The pitiful squeak that rose from Kellen after that was enough to set anyone to laughing immediately. "See what I have to put up with? He's like sooooooo abused, honestly." Rolling her eyes, Angie took the gallon of milk that had been previously in the fridge, and headed towards the stove to warm some of it up, leaving the fridge open for the other's chance at scrutiny.

As she poured some of the milk in a sauce-pan, she glanced over her shoulder. "What's so important in Adhimu that you plan on going that far for?"

Vashtya Elf: Peering in some of the drawers, Vash made a sound of approval as he found what appeared to be some sausage. Sniffing at it, he grinned. "Yup, still good!" he muttered, struggling to settle Ryo down enough so that he could get the package open without dropping either the food or the cub...or both. "Hmm?" He murmured in response to Angie's question. "Oh! Well, for one thing, we've been here a couple of weeks, and I think it'd be a good idea for Ryo and I to explore the rest of the island a bit--pair that with the fact that I'm tired of entertaining Ryo with my much-chewed fingers, so I think I'll pick him up something to play with while I'm there." he said, looking satisfied as he shifted Ryo JUSTRIGHT, and managed to rip open the package of sausages.

Setting the pup down, he gave him a small piece that he broke off one end of one, using the time it took the little one to chew the food up enough to swallow to wrap up the rest of the prize (sausagessss), which he promptly threw into a small duffel that he'd brought downstairs with him.

ResurrectedAngie: Amused, Ang couldn't help but smirk at the comment of much-chewed fingers. Serves him right for sticking his fingers where they don't belong. Taking a glance at Ryo, it was obvious the little tyke had some chompers on him that were rather needle-sharp, surefure weapons in any situation. "See, I don't have that problem. Kellen doesn't have needles for teeth." As she spoke his name, the fawn poked his head out of the sash to squeak at Vash and Ryo. "Oh come ON, you weren't asked for your opinion." It was all she could do not to laugh while pretending to scold the little guy. It was funny though, no matter what was going on, he'd find the right time to poke his head up and squeak, to the pont where it completely cracked the fox-girl up.

Vashtya Elf: Winking at Angie, Vash couldn't help but chuckle at the fawn. "Yes, he is lacking a bit in the teeth department." Vash retorted cheerfully, waggling his fingers a few inches infront of the rapidly eating wolf pup, and nearly having a bite taken out've them for his trouble. "However, I can imagine that your little guy might like something other than mundane household objects to play with...so, if it'd please milady, we'd gladly accompany you, if you're wanting to join us on the trip to Adhimu..."

ResurrectedAngie: She digested the information for a moment, before slowly nodding. "That...doesn't sound half bad actually. A trip sounds good, and it would probably do him some good as well to see the sights. What harm could it do?" Oh she didn't know, now did she? Yawning softly, the fox-girl turned her back on the other guardian and his charge, to peer into some cupboards behind her, to be rewarded by finding some fruit in a mesh bag. "Aha! Edibles!" Holding the bag aloft, she grinned, turning around to show it off. "There IS food here after all!" It wasn't that she wasn't a meat eater, she just didn't find that a very appetizing meal first thing in the morning.

Vashtya Elf: Grabbing the last bit of remaining sausage off the counter, which had lain half-forgotten into the stuffed pup for a couple of minutes, Vash popped it into his mouth with a grin, scooping up a VERY round looking Ryo as he did so. "Sounds great!" he said, forcing himself with much effort to not stare at her assets as she rummaged around in the cupboard, his bland smile feeling as though it had been pasted on. daaaaaaannng...he thought to himself, before giving himself a mental shake and clearing his throat. "Anyway, I've packed a few days worth of clothing and such in a bag--I'd recommend the same, since Adhimu's a fair distance away, if I've heard right." he said, wandering over to a cupboard and grabbing a few sports bottles, filling them with water...just in case it was scarce on the way to Adhimu.

ResurrectedAngie: Rationality flooded her once again as she absently placed the bag of fruit on the counter and gently patted the squeaking and temporarily forgotten Kellen. "Yes, clothes and other such supplies would be quite useful in such a situation." She paused for a moment before flicking an ear in Vash's direction. "Just - how far is this place, did you say?" A fair distance could be a day's trip, or it could be a month long trip. She wanted to know just how long this endeavor would be. Too long might not be the best idea in the world, especially with someone she hardly knew. Not that she was the suspicious type, but still, it never hurt to be cautious. Though what could honestly happen? Besides the sky falling and the world ending, that is.

Vashtya Elf: "From what I hear, it'll be a 4-day walk...each way." he said cautiously, half-expecting for her to throw something at him. "But, I'm gonna need clothes and stuff for Ryo soon anyway, so I'm thinking it's better done sooner than later n.n. And besides, Ryo here needs to stretch his legs, don't you, baby?" he said, cooing in the wolf-pup's direction.

Ryo squirmed happily in Vash's arms, picking up on the pleased tone of voice, and responding gleefully to it. Tilting his head slightly to the side, he licked the tip of Vashtya's nose, but didn't yip, not even once.

Vashtya's eyes softened, and he scritched the pup behind the ears before turning back to Angie, waiting for her response.

ResurrectedAngie: 'A four day walk...' Those words took a moment to sink in, but when they did, Angie's jaw dropped. "Are you SERIOUS?!" That was quite the trip, especially with such little ones who demanded such attention and care. "Stretching legs is alright, but what about the fact that they are way too little for such a trip?" Such a worry-wart. But it wasn't always a bad thing to be so worried about such things. They'd probably be okay if they took the trip, but it was always a good idea to bring up the what if's just in case. "Okay. Say they can make the trip just fine. What all is in this town?"

Vashtya Elf: Shrugging, Vash's eyes twinkled with mirth. "I..don't know, exactly." he said blandly. "After all, I haven't been there myself..." he continued, ignoring her indignance. "And b'sides, there's people all over the world who're nomadic all the time, and their kids do JUUUST fine." he finished, looking pleased with himself. "Not to mention that Ryo here's a growing pup--and it's hard for me to give him enough excercise that he's not always running around like a heathen when I set him down...." he muttered, rubbing his cheek affectionately along the small dire wolf's neck and shoulders. Already Vash could see that he was growing...they sure didn't stay small for long.

ResurrectedAngie: If she'd been hearing Vash's thoughts, she would have agreed wholeheartedly. It seemed like just yesterday that Kellen had been inside the jar, a fetus wobbling into her life. And almost like hours ago that he had appeared from that jar, though she knew better. Already he was able to wiggle his way to his feet and take a few shakey steps on all four legs. It was just amazing how much of a personality he was gaining, and how wonderful he was becoming.

"I suppose." She was obviously reluctant, but also resolved on going, regardless. It never occured to her that she might have a hard time, him being a male, and her being a female and all. Nothing like that ever popped into her mind. The only thing that settled there was the urge to get Kellen something special to play with. What would she get him though? What would he want to keep at a later date? She'd have to think about that on the way.

Nodding more to herself than anything, the fox-girl headed towards the door, intending on going upstairs to gather some things for her pack, so they could leave whenever. "I'll get my stuff together, alright?"

Vashtya Elf: Grabbing an apple off the counter and biting into it, Vash nodded. "Try not to take too long...but sure, that's fine with me." he said, already thinking of the possibilities--two people, travelling alone for four days...oh, but god could be kind. Looking down, he snorted with laughter as he realized that Ryo had fallen asleep, curled up against his warm chest, as it were. "Silly pup...hard to believe you weren't much bigger'n a jelly bean when I first met ya..." he murmured. Scritching the pup behind the ears, he chuckled when Ryo's eyes fluttered open slowly, fixing on Vash's face with a look of complete and utter trust, his pink tongue lolling out as he yawned. "Vassss..." he said quietly, he word almost lost in another yawn. "WHAT??" Vash said, his eyes almost bugging out of his head. "I must be hearing things...but, it DID sound like you were trying to say..my name..." he said, and maybe he WAS just hearing things...it was something one just never did know.

ResurrectedAngie: Nodding her head, Angie arranged Kel in her sash a bit more securely, before heading for the stairs. Taking them two by two, she made quick time up to her room, where she grabbed her pack and began to shove a few clothes inside, not really caring what went in, just as long as it indeed went in. A notebook also went in, along with a pack of pens and a flashlight. Extra batteries, as well as a few other small things went into the pack, then she closed the zipper, and slung it over her back. "Alrighty little one. Lets go get you a toy." Grinning down at her companion, she stepped out and closed the door, heading back down the stairs. It hadn't taken her long at all, so she figured Vash would be impressed. "Ready now?" she said brightly as she popped her head back into the kitchen again.

Vashtya Elf: Vash blinked in surprise, having not been expecting her for at least another 10 minutes. "That was quick...I'm impressed!" he said, giving her an impish wink before slinging his own duffel bag over his shoulder, unzipping it and setting Ryo inside so that the pup could peer out while still leaving Vash's arms free...and hopefully, it'd keep him secure, as well. "Then let's head on out!" Vash chirped, positively ecstatic at the thought of getting Ryo something fun to play with. My fingers are already rejoicing...he pondered, a grin playing at the corners of his mouth. The morning was definitely looking up.

ResurrectedAngie: Angie snorted slightly, used to people thinking that she'd take forever. The blinking of Vash's eyes told her he was yet another who'd figured on her tardiness. Well sure, sometimes she did get a little lengthy in preparing, but right now she just wanted to get out of the house and on with this trip. The longer she stayed here, the longer the trip itself would take, and all that walking and outing wouldn't be good for the babies. Preening Kel in her sash, she nodded to her travel companion and headed towards the front door, or at least what she hoped was the front door. She always used it and therefore assumed...

Vashtya Elf: Vash followed, shrugging idly and shifting the now-squirming Ryo to his other arm, noting with wry humor that the pup had obviously sensed that they were doing something different, since he was more bouncy than a mexican jumping bean. Sighing, Vash almost ran into Angie as the other boundless owner stopped to open the front door, and muttered a quick apology, blinking as if to clear his thoughts. Double checking his bag quickly, he shifted Ryo awkwardly, and being rewarded for his efforts by a well-placed n**. "Alright...let's get this show on the road!" he said happily, looking forward to the trip.

ResurrectedAngie: Angie found it a slight bother as she was almost ran into, but managed to open the door before getting run over. Satisfaction painted a rather amused look upon her face as she saw the n** from Ryo to Vash, secretly saying to herself 'ha serves you right for trying to run a lady over.' However she kept the comment to herself, figuring that it wouldn't be taken quite as lightly as she would have intended it to. Instead she nodded in answer and forged her way ahead, unsure of where she was going, yet knowing that they'd get there just the same. "Lights? Check. Camera? Check...I think. Action? Well, we'll get to it when we get to it. Otherwise....the show is officially...." She paused for a moment, before she stepped foot on the path that led away from the mansion. "On the road." Angie smirked, pleased with herself for the rather odd and unimaginative pun.

Vashtya Elf: Shaking his head, Vash wondered just what Angie was on. Whatever it is, I may need some of my own by the time this trip is over... he thought to himself, whistling tunelessly and placing Ryo in the duffel bag, leaving it unzipped so that the exuberant pup could look around as they walked. Practically floating along, Vash took some time to savor Ryo's quietness as he absorbed the beauty of the land around him in the early morning light.

ResurrectedAngie: One of these days, Angie's hyperness was going to get her into trouble. But this probably wasn't her day. Not yet at least. Yawning softly, she peered ahead of them, towards the tangle of paths that stretched out ahead of them. Which one was the right one? Oh well, eenie meenie it, and it'll all turn out good in the end, right? The second path to the left looked rather inviting, so she chose it, bouncing down the way a bit quicker than anyone probably would have liked her to. Hopefully she'd picked the right one, it wasn't like she'd noticed any signs pointing her in the right direction or anything...

Wagging her tail, the fox-girl turned around from her bounding forward motion, to see if Vash was following yet. "Oh come on! Don't be a slow poke now. Its quite a ways away, and at this rate, we'll NEVER get there!" Boy, someone musta fed her waaaay too much chocolate this morning...

Vashtya Elf: Picking up a small pebble and lobbing it at Angie playfully, Vash walked a bit faster, catching up in a matter of seconds. "Oh, don't be in such a hurry! You can't live life if you're always rushing through things!" he retorted, giving her a mischievious wink before skipping on ahead, nearly bouncing Ryo out've his makeshift sling. After a short while of this, during which he remained contentedly silent and bonded with the still-young wolf, Vash decided that it wouldn't hurt to let Ryo run alongside for awhile...and besides, the young'un was getting antsy, obviously tired of sitting still for so long.

Trip to Adhimu - Part 2

ResurrectedAngie: The fox-girl snorted. "Bah, rushing headlong into things doesn't always get you in trouble...." a longish pause followed the statement, before she added, "then too, it usually does get me in trouble." Slowing down, Angie decided to be better safe than sorry. It wasn't worth trying to get herself into trouble by rushing into this. Besides, she didn't even know where she was going, exactly. So it wasn't like she knew what she was rushing into and therefore not going to get herself into trouble...

Bah there she went, thinking again. She really needed to learn not to do that, it was harmful to one's health. Her eyes jetted over to Ryo, seeing the little guy pawing to get out of the bag. Glancing downward, she could see her own little tyke gnawing boredly on her sash. "HEY! Knock that off squirt. The sash is NOT a chew toy. Its your carrying case, or my clothing accessory!" Laughter filled the air around her as she gently lifted the fawn out of his resting place. "Alright alright, here you go. Go bounce and do whatever, just don't chew on my sash!"

Vashtya Elf: Ryo waddled around, blinking as he wondered at the new freedom. Of course, being a wolf, first thing he did was roll in the dirt, a small sigh escaping his small face. Getting back to his feet, he shook, sending dust flying in every direction before bounding over to where Vashtya had stopped to giggle at his antics. Then, spotting Kel, Ryo sprinted over to the other young boundless, sniffing at him curiously for a second before nipping at him and skittering away, tail wagging as he obviously decided that this could be fun.

ResurrectedAngie: Kel blinked at the other boundless's actions, cocking his head to the side quizzically. A few stiff-legged steps later, and the fawn was eagerly bounding off after the wolf child, enjoying the company of another his age. Angie snickered softly as he nearly tripped over himself, toppling to a heap on the ground for having failed to lift his feet far enough to avoid a small lump in the ground. "Well there you go silly. Watch where you're going, instead of bounding off hell bent for election. Things like that can happen without warning, like a root popping up out of the ground right in front of you, just for the sole purpose of tripping you up. They're tricky little buggers, you know." Grinning, the fox-girl winked at Vash and jogged to catch up with him, stopping by Kellen. Amused by the antics of her charge, she spoke up, "So cute and innocent, yet its hard not to giggle when such things happen." Bending over the little fawn, she set him back upon his feet and finished the jog to Vash. "Oiy vey."

Vashtya Elf: Vash joined in her mirth, although his gaze never strayed very far from Ryo, who continually surprised him by being incredibly athletic. As he watched the wolf cub run around with Kellen, weaving amongst his and angie's feet adeptly, he found himself wondering what kind of child Ryo would become...and what he could buy that Ryo would enjoy when that came to pass. Suddenly, he tripped over an unseen clump of grass, and, although he caught himself, the act had him blushing furiously even as he tried to cover up his clumsiness with a discreet cough. His fascination with the countryside had dwindled slightly, or at least, enough so that he found himself asking the kitsune next to him "So, what made you decide to take Kellen in?" he queried suddenly, probably shocking poor Angie with his randomness.

ResurrectedAngie: Angie tried to hide her giggle behind her hand, but of course, wasn't successful. The fact that, right after she'd righted Kel for tripping over a lump in the ground, Vash has to do it too. A soft whisper, not necessarily meant for hearing purposes, escaped her. "Copycat." She coughed and flicked an ear, catching the question from her travelling partner. "Good question. I suppose the unknown, and wanting to learn more about a little being, coupled with the fact that I'd be giving someone special a home were main reasons. Plus he looked so helpless in his jar. I couldn't resist, even if I wanted to." He probably thought she was crazy, but it was all the truth. She had found the little tyke in his jar, fascinating, couldn't put him down, almost literally. It had been love at first sight.

Vashtya Elf: Nodding, Vash gave her a half-smile. "Makes sense to me..." he said, noticing that the sun had begun its descent in the sky, although they had at least a few more hours of daylight before the sun would set. Noticing that Ryo was looking a mite overheated, he filled a small cup with some of the water he'd brought with him for the third or fourth time since he'd set Ryo down, and let the wolf cub drink his fill. When he'd finished, Ryo continued to sit, and looked up at Vash expectantly. Grinning, Vash scooped him up and set him back into the duffle, murmuring something about how it appeared, thankfully, that Ryo had gotten rid of some of that excess energy.

ResurrectedAngie: Oblivious to her surroundings as always, Angie did happen to notice that Kel was a bit parched as well, and followed Vash's example. She didn't let the fawn drink too much though, knowing that too much could make him sick. The sun beginning to sink in the sky hadn't dawned on her yet... Poor girl. Some things just didn't reach her brain until waaaaay later. All she wanted to do, truthfully, after having watched the little ones run around like that, was lay down and take a nice long nap. But that wouldn't be conducive to progress, now would it? Huffing slightly, the fox-girl let the fawn amble at her feet a while longer, glancing down the path they'd come from, then staring at the path ahead. "Wow...long trip, ain't it?" There you go Angie, just go stating the obvious, as if it wasn't in plain enough daylight as it was.

Vashtya Elf: Eyeing the rapidly darkening landscape, Vash started looking about for a good camping site. "It most certainly is...I'm just hoping it ends up being worth it!" he said with a grin. Just as Ryo was starting to whine, Vash spotted the perfect spot to rest for the night. Pointing it out to Angie, he patted Ryo on the head, wincing when the pup spoke--his second word to date. "Hongreeeee!" he whined, his little paw, which was beginning to function more as a hand as the young'un grew, clutched at Vash's shirt pitifully, as Ryo gave Vash what must have been the most effective puppydog eyes ever.

With a wry grin, Vash shushed him affectionately. "We're gonna take a seat over by that tree over there, Ryo...and then I'll give you food and more water, promise!" Vash said brightly, moseying in the aforementioned direction.

ResurrectedAngie: Angie blinked as Vash pointed out a spot, then looked around. OH YEAH! It just dawned on her. The sun was setting, therefore it was getting darker. Traveling wouldn't work in the dark and therefore they'd have to stop for the night. Boy she really wasn't on the ball today now was she? Kellen started whimpering in tune to Ryo's, bringing her attention to focus solely on the fawn. "Yes darling, I -know- its hungry time. We'll get to that as soon as we get settled and the food unpacked, okay?" She smiled at her little darling, amused when the little guy continued to whimper. It wasn't until Angie began to set her pack down and dig around for food, that Kel came up to her, nudged her with his head, and bleated out "NOW!" His first word to date, but the word was said in such a way that it startled Angie. It was clearly a demand, and the look on the little fawn's face showed that just as clearly as his tone of voice. The fox-girl stared at him, then turned to Vash with a 'what in the world just happened' look on her face. "Uhh...Alright..." She was quite bewildered at the whole thing.

Vashtya Elf: Vash busted out laughing at the expression on Angie's face. "Sounds to me like he's a kid who knows what he wants!" he said with a wink as he sat Ryo on the ground next to the duffel bag, pulling out a small bedroll...and the leftover sausages from that morning. As Ryo began eating voraciously, he rooted around some more until he found the half-empty water bottle they'd been using all day. "Perfect." he said, pouring a small amount into a bowl and setting it beside Ryo before getting to his feet again. "Alright...if you could keep an eye on Ryo, I'm going to go see if I can find some dead wood...a fire probably wouldn't go amiss tonight." he said cheerfully.

ResurrectedAngie: Wrinkling her nose as the sudden laughter floating her way, the fox-girl shook her head. "Ugh! MEN! Whatever would this world do without men!" Her comment was quite playful in nature, but probably didn't sound like it. "Alright alright little one. Now it is. I swear, as the days wear on, you're more and more insistent on things!" Angie shook her head, kneeling down and pulling a pair of apples out of her pack, handing the first one over to the little fawn boy, then rolling the other around in her hands. "Anything else you might require, my little prince?" Musing on her comment, she looked up at Vash. "Uhhh....oh, right. Sure. I'll watch him for you." She gestured to Kellen, whom had taken the apple within his cloven feet and was hungrily gnawing on the shiny red object, pointing out that it wasn't like she was going to be wandering anywhere anytime soon. "A fire sounds good anyway," shivering in emphasis to her words, the fox-girl wrapped her arms around her body. The air was rapidly cooling off as the sun continued to set, faint outlines of stars beginning to form in the sky above them.

Vashtya Elf: Hiding a small shiver of his own, Vashtya looked around for deadwood, filling his arms with twigs, and a few larger branches that had fallen to the ground, and were brittle from lack of moisture. When he couldn't carry anymore comfortably, he headed back to their "camp", dropped them off, grabbed a book of matches out've his back pocket, and asked angie to get a small fire started as he gathered another armload, to try to ensure that they had enough to last them through the evening.

As he went to leave to get the rest of the firewood, he noticed that Ryo had scrambled over beside him, and was about to pick the pup up when he felt Ryo's little hand grasp at his pants leg and pull firmly on it. "H-h-hey!" he began, only to freeze as he watched Ryo pull himself to his feet. "Oh...my...god!" Vash stuttered, swinging Ryo up into a massive bear hug and handing him a small biscuit (strategically carried in his pocket for just such an occasion) before setting Ryo back down and practically skipping off to find more firewood.

ResurrectedAngie: Getting a small fire started wasn't as easy as it appeared to be. Angie almost didn't notice Ryo's achievement, for arranging the twigs and branches in such a way that it was possible that they'd all light and burn. But when she did notice, her jaw dropped. The little wolf had stood up. It was an awe inspiring moment, and a longing went through Angie, almost wishing it had been Kellen, instead of Ryo. But she clapped her hands softly in praise for the little wolf, smiling. "Yaaaay!" Soon enough, Kel would get his chance, and she'd be waiting for it excitedly. Turning back to the fire, she pulled a match from the book and struck it, setting it to a few of the smaller twigs that she'd laid out, hoping and praying that they'd catch and she wouldn't have to spend all night trying to get this done.

Almost as if answering her prayer, a couple of the twigs did indeed catch. Softly she blew on them, giving them much needed airflow to ignite them further. "Come on little twiggies, let's get this ball a goin' so I can do other things." And.....the twigs fizzled out. The fox-girl's ears flattened in annoyance. "Feh, screw you too." Striking another match, she tried a few of the slightly larger twigs, this time succeeding in keeping the fire going and growing. "FINALLY!"

Vashtya Elf: When Vash came sprinting back (he hurried, not wanting to miss anything), he deposited the armload of sticks on top of the rest, nodding in satisfaction as he observed that Angie had gotten a nice fire going. "Glad to see you were a girl scout!" he said, teasing her a bit before sitting down on the ground and leaning his back against a tree trunk, pulling Ryo onto his lap. As he started into the flames, his finger tips drew random, swirly designs in the dire wolf pup's fur. When he finally looked down at Ryo, to see if he'd fallen asleep, he noted with a grin that the pup had wrapped his arms around Vash's calf, almost like a child will usually hug a teddy bear.

Looking up to grin at Angie, he shook his head. "So cute. Hard to believe it won't be long til they're running around like heathens." he said with a wry grin.

ResurrectedAngie: Snorting, Angie rolled her eyes. "Hardly an anything scout. More like the girl who avoided the scouts with a passion." Finally, a chance to dig into her apple. She'd been waiting for a chance to do so, having not done so earlier simply because she'd been watching Kellen, making sure he didn't choke on his or anything, then she'd been working on the fire. Gnawing happily on the sweet treat, she stole a glance towards father and son nearby. Daww how cute, the little one appeared to be asleep already. Whereas, Kellen was still bouncing around, appearing high on life, or sugar, or something to that effect. "Maybe the apple wasn't such a good idea for you after all..." Murmuring softly to herself about the fact that fruit should come with sugar content warnings, Angie reached out for the squirming fawn. "C'mere you. Its time that you settled down, before you wake your friend up." Kel bleated unhappily, but curled up in her lap, seeing as she wasn't going to let him go anytime soon. With a sigh, she closed her eyes, humming softly to herself, no tune in particular, just humming. Tiredness was beginning to wear on her. They'd gone quite a ways already, and still so far to go...

Vashtya Elf: Finding Angie's humming oddly soothing, Vash's eyes slowly drifted shut, although he forced himself to throw a couple of large logs on the fire before he let sleep claim him. As he drifted off, his last thought was that already the trip was worth it, no matter how stiff he might end up before it was all through--after all, Ryo had stood on his own two feet! Sighing, he exhaled softly and let himself be drawn into the world of dreams.

ResurrectedAngie: It wasn't long before Angie's humming also soothed herself to sleep. Slumping down to the ground, she curled up around herself, Kellen inching closer to her, and snuggling as he slept. An angelic picture it might have been a rather angelic sight to see, if people didn't know Angie better. The soft sounds of the fire crackling, and their breathing was about all that was heard all night long, at least from Angie and Kellen's side. If either of the other two snored, she was oblivious to it...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vashtya Elf: By the time they finally reached Adhimu, some of Vashtya's glow had dissipated--he was stiff, sore, tired...and the crick he'd acquired in his neck from sleeping sitting up that first night never had gone away. When the town became visible, he gave a relieved sigh, but had to crack a pleased grin when Ryo, obviously unbothered by the four day walk, wiggled excitedly from his perch in the duffle bag, tugging excitedly on Vash's shirt sleeve.

ResurrectedAngie: Angie wasn't exactly the picture of perfectness either. Her back hurt, she hadn't gotten as much sleep as she would have preferred, her tail was full of cockleburrs and god knows what else, and on top of it all, she was just plain grumpy period. She too saw the town and sighed deeply in relief. "Thank god, finally we get here. It almost seemed like this place didn't exist period in the first place." The fox-girl couldn't keep all the agitated-ness out of her voice, but she truely was glad that they'd finally made it. "So, where do we go from here, now that we're here at the town?" She hoped someone had told Vash which shop to go to, or something, so they weren't forced to wander from shop to shop to figure out where the right place was to go.

Vashtya Elf: Grinning, Vash raised his arm to point out that there only appeared to be one shop in the town, but quickly lowered it as he realized just what four days of not bathing had done for his...odor. Flushing slightly, he nodded. "Bath first. Then, from the looks of things, there's not too much choice, store-wise..." he said with a grin. As he continued down the path, he whistled tunelessly, in far better humor knowing they'd finally gotten so close. When Ryo howled along with him, he chuckled delightedly, hugging the wolf cub tightly. "I'm so glad I have you." he whispered, pleased that the pup hadn't suffered any ill effects from the four day trip.

ResurrectedAngie: She raised in eyebrow, sliding effectively away from Vash. "Bath would be nice, however, where would we be doing such a thing?" Angie was NOT in the best of moods this day, now was she? Indeed, Vash was a bit on the rank side, however it reminded her more of what she must smell like. Good lord, she didn't want to even think of that right now. A bath did sound good, she'd take whatever she could get. But what had her all in a grump, was what exactly she would get Kellen. What was it that the little fawn would like to play with? Something told her it would have to be a rather extraordinary gift to catch the little tyke's eye and attention. Ugh, some things just weren't easy at all to piece together. Sighing heavily, she glanced towards the town. It did indeed appear that there wasn't much of anything to look around, so maybe their job wouldn't be so hard after all...

Vashtya Elf: With a grin, Vash pointed out that there was an inn. Digging around for some money, he skipped inside, careful to keep his distance from the inkeeper and his wife as he requested that they be allowed to use a pair of showers briefly. After some good-natured bickering, Vash dug out a handful of coins, counted a few out, and collected a pair of keys. Tossing one to Angie, he turned to head up the stairs, anxious to get clean. "You're in room 14." he said, before rushing the rest of the way to his room. Once in there, he locked the door behind him and stripped quickly, unpacking the one set of clean clothes he'd brought before grabbing Ryo and heading for the bathroom. After scrubbing both of them and towelling them dry, he changed into his clean clothes and set Ryo on the bed while he combed his hair, luxuriating in the sensation of actually being clean. It's a feeling I won't take for granted again... he thought to himself, wadding his dirty, stinky clothes up with a look of distaste and shoving them to the bottom of the bag and slinging it over his shoulder before picking Ryo up and setting him back in his travel spot.

Then, he unlocked the door and headed downstairs to wait for angie, pleased to see that he'd finished quick enough to beat her downstairs.

ResurrectedAngie: Preoccupied with other things, such as her own stink, Angie hadn't quite caught the number of her room. Lifting her head a moment or so after catching the key, the fox-girl realized Vash was gone. "Uhh....Which one did he say was ours, Kel?" But it wasn't like the fawn was of any help. He was too busy trying to squirm out of her arms, rather than listening and helping her. ((OMFG ROFL Koga vs InuYasha, part Duex)) Sighing, she trudged up the stairs, ((Damnit of course they end it in the wrong place AGAIN!!!)). "Was it 13, or 14?" Pausing beside both doors, she pondered, doing her own version of 'Eenie, meenie, miney moe.' Room 14 won out, and luckily that was the one that the key opened up. Once inside, she likewise cleaned up and dunked the protesting fawn under the water to clean up as well.

"Well little one. I think we're presentable again. Shall we go knock on doors to figure out where our companions are?" A glare came from Kel, telling her they better get moving now, or she'd be in for it. "Alright alright." Picking him up and cradling him close, she headed out her door, pausing to think of which room Vash would be in. 13 or 15 would be logical choices, but she didn't want to seem....stupid or ignorant and knock on the wrong one.

Vashtya Elf: Hearing clumping about upstairs, Vash took an educated guess and assumed Angie was done. Going to stand at the foot of the stairs, he whistled. "Oh Angieeeee~" he called, his grin audible. "We finished up ages ago...now c'mon, I think I know just what I'm going to get for Ryo!" he said, back to his energetic self.

ResurrectedAngie: Hearing a voice below, Angie headed downstairs, a little faster than expected as she nearly tumbled into Vash. "Uhh...hello again. Ahh. Something for the little ones. Indeed, lets go. I still haven't the foggiest clue what I should get Kel, but I assume that whatever it is, it'll jump out at me and scream 'I'm for Kellen!' when I see it." Frowning, she prodded the fawn, getting a squeak in return for her efforts. Heading towards the door, the fox-girl didn't bother to look behind herself, she knew that Vash was bounding close behind.

Vashtya Elf: Practically dancing with glee, Vash followed Angie out the inn's front doors, blinking at the bright sunlight that assailed his eyes. "My...that is bright!" he said idly, even as he swung Ryo in a wide, excited circle before cuddling the wolf close and following Angie over to the goods store. As they stepped inside, Vash's eyes widened...for this store had both more, and less, than he'd been expecting. They carried everything from candy to Toys...but less than your local marketplace would. Looking around, Vash forgot entirely about Angie, his planned toy...really, everything but Ryo and the toys. As the pair wandered through the aisles, Vash let the young dire wolf pup touch the toys on the shelves as much as he pleased, wanting to let Ryo pick out his own present.

However, when Ryo picked up a solitary, amazingly well-carved wooden sword (and intricate--it looked like a simple sword, til you realized that every notch in the hilt, every accessory that would be present on a real sword was carved into it, although on a smaller scale--this sword had obviously been carved for children whose parents wanted them to learn how to swordfight o.O), Vash tried to dissuade the young wolf from that particular choice, even as he wondered why the shopkeeper was carrying it to begin with.

When it became apparent that Ryo would either have that sword or die trying, Vash sighed and headed back up towards the front desk, rooting around for his wallet and setting the toy sword on the cashier's desk, shifting Ryo easily onto his hip as he did so.

"So...if you don't mind my asking...why were you carrying this particular item, anyway?" Vash asked the shopkeeper, unable to contain his curiosity any longer.

"We always have just what's needed in stock." the shopkeeper said, his tone revealing clearly that further questioning would yield no more answers.

Shrugging his shoulders, Vash paid the man, then looked around for Angie, having finally remembered that no, he hadn't come alone.

ResurrectedAngie: Angie also stood in awe, trying to imagine just why and how such a place would be here. Anything you could imagine seemed to be stocked on the shelves, yet the place wasn't as big as it should have appeared to be. She too wandered the isles, glancing upon toys and toys, many things she hadn't seen before, but had heard of. How on earth would she choose? It wasn't like a toy was going to wander up to her and say 'Hi Angie! I'm a something, and I'm here for Kellen. Take me home with you, please.' Kellen, however, had his own agenda. Flailing his flinty little hooves around, he managed to get free of Angie, being set upon the ground to amble around as he pleased. It wasn't long before he came to rest in front of a big book. Pawing at it, he looked at Angie helplessly.

"Is this what you would like?" She watched the little deer bobble his head several times, rather quickly. It looked like he would bobble his head right off his shoulders. "Alright then, this book we shall get." Picking it and Kellen up, she glanced through a few of the pages. A fairytale storybook. It seemed like it'd have some really good reading in it, so she didn't figure objecting would be such a good idea.

Taking it up to the register, she waited to see how much it would cost, then paid the cashier accordingly. "Well, I think we're done. How about you?" She turned to Vash, not hardly awaiting an answer before making a beeline towards the door. She wanted to get home as soon as possible, if that could be done, which she highly doubted.

((Almost finished! Yaaaaay!))

[Return to the Manor]
PostPosted: Wed Dec 21, 2005 6:45 pm

Sighing softly, Angie pulled out a notebook and pulled a sheet of paper out of it. Setting it on the table, she tapped a pen on the surface, thinking of what to write. Kellen lay upon a pillow on the chair beside her, sleeping peacefully. She knew she needed to leave a note to let Ruby and Q and the others know that Kellen and herself wouldn't be seen for a few days, as she was taking him home with some other important members of the household, to go see some family for the holidays. It wouldn't be for long, and Kel would be fawned over so much that he wouldn't know what to do with all the attention. She'd probably have to tear him away from the attention at some point, in order to return home!

Amused with this thought, Angie grinned and began to ponder just how to write what she needed to. She wasn't sure who all would read it, but the fox-girl assumed that leaving the note in the kitchen upon her departure would be much wiser than leaving it up in her room. At least in the kitchen, someone was liable to see it and hand it off to Ruby or someone else, so that she knew where Ang and Kel were. The last thing Angie wanted was anyone worried and wondering where they were.

A thought struck not a moment too soon, and not even a moment later, Ang was writing the explaination she needed to.

Hey Guys,
The holidays have snuck up on me without warning, and the days have considerably shortened due to so many different things. A visit with my family is in order, and I'm taking Kellen with me, as he is a vital part of our family now, and because it would do him some good to meet others and get doted and fawned over (no pun intended). I wish we could spend the holidays here, and enjoy a somewhat quiet (I could always hope) Christmas season with you guys, but the family really wants me to come home for a few days. We are leaving sometime tonight I think, and won't be back for about a week and a half, but I'm taking a notebook with paper to record what happens, so that I can share it all with you when we get back.

I just wanted to let you guys know, so that you all didn't worry when Kellen and I didn't appear for anything. I really wish I could stay but going home sounds so good right about now. I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday season though! I'm leaving cards for everyone under your doors, with a cute picture of Kellen and I. See you all when we get back!

Sincerely,
Angie and Kellen

Glancing over towards the cards mentioned in the note, she poked at them a bit. It'd taken a while to get the cards to how she wanted them, but with the cuteness of the image she included on them, she thought they were quite adorable. Angie only hoped that the others would like the cards just as much. With a deep breath, Angie stood up, setting the pen down on the desk, and gathered up the note and the cards. She'd slip the cards under each guardian's room door, then leave the note downstairs, either taped to the fridge or the counter. Whichever seemed to get the most attention would be where she stuck it. Setting the note and cards down on the table by the door, the fox-girl turned back towards the chair she'd been sitting next to, and gathered up Kellen and his pillow. Moving over to the bed, Ang set him down, covering him up and allowing him to sleep longer. He'd need all the sleep he could get, just so that he would be in a good mood for traveling. It was bad enough the little tyke had the sniffles, or what she assumed were the sniffles. She didn't want him to be cranky while they traveled.

A few extra clothes and blankets were set into her duffle bag, along with a few books she'd found to read to Kel, and the bag was packed. They wouldn't be gone long, but it was long enough to warrent a full duffle bag of clothes and such. As well as another bag full of christmas gifts for the family. Having everything done, and seeing Kellen resting so peacefully, kinda made Angie realize just how tired she was. Crawling into bed next to her sweet baby deer, the fox-girl curled up in the blankets and closed her eyes. A nap for now wouldn't be so bad... At least then she'd be well rested for the trip, right? It wasn't long before both of them were fast asleep, dreaming of the yummy goodies and fun they'd have on this trip.

Leaning against the wall, Angie sighed, glancing over to the sleeping little ones. So innocent they looked, though she knew better. This trip had already proved so far to be more of a hassle than the well needed vacation she'd hoped it would be. Between the little deer boy, her fairy companion, and the newly hatched kitling she brought along with her, there was no such thing as a dull moment. Kellen found his way into the pantry and had begun to eat as many things as he could possibly get his little hoofy fingers on. And of course that consisted of the marshmellows, chocolate chips, cookies, candy, and chips. Anything that was junk food was more than fair game for the little tyke. And the look on his face as he grinned up with chocolate rimmed lips was too precious to ignore. What was a fox-girl to do but to shake her head and laugh?

But that wasn't even the half of what had gone on so far this trip. Twice the little deer boy had gotten lost in the woods behind the house, having bounded off after some strange creature he'd never seen and wanted to investigate. Once he nearly had a rather unpleasant close encounter with a skunk. And during all this, he did so with mischief and trouble in his eyes. Angie honestly wasn't sure what she was going to do with the little tyke if he was already starting to be this spiteful at such a young age.

Looking up towards the sky through the window by the bed, she caught sight of the first star of the evening as it faded into view. Now, she wasn't a very superstitious girl, but it didn't hurt to try. "Starlight, starbright. First star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might, to have the wish I wish tonight." Pausing for a moment, the fox-girl chuckled, shaking her head, not believing she was about to do this. "Whatever I did to displease whoever's in charge up there, I apologize. I just wish I knew why, or could find a way to tame my little deer boy. Something tells me I did something awfully strange to deserve this, and I can't help but wonder what it was. I'll bear it, I just.... sometimes I just don't know what to do..." Yawning, her storm grey eyes turned away from the star. Angie had said what she needed to get off her chest. It wasn't that she was displeased with the little guy, she just needed the patience to deal with it. And as he grew, she did as well, learning what worked with getting what she wanted or needed from him, and what didn't work. Eventually she'd get this right, they both would. Until then, it'd be a trial and error thing.

But for now, she'd just have to deal. Maybe her unspoken wish would come true, but only time would tell. Curling up on her bed, she pulled the little deer boy and his companions closer to her and covered up in the oversized comforter. Christmas was only a day away, and she needed all the rest she could get, so she could face the holiday with as much grace as she could. Sleep came for her within only a few minutes, claiming her as it did the others a few hours before...

I only wish for snow to fall, on the palm trees in the dirt.
But here the sun will always shine (it will always shine) Even if with the clouds it flirts...

Angie looked over towards the little deer-boy as she heard a rather loud sigh from his direction. She'd placed Kel up by the window-seat in their room at the mansion, allowing him to look upon whatever might be happening beneath them. The fox-girl had noticed that he hadn't seemed right since they got back from her family's home. Ang often wondered if he'd gotten sick in the time that they were gone, but Kel didn't show any physical signs of fever or illness. His condition perplexed her, and that wasn't necessarily a good thing. Tapping the end of her pen on the notebook she was fiddling with, Angie's storm grey eyes studied her current charge. A part of her wanted to stand up, to slide off the bed and go to him, pulling him and his blanket close to her and just rocking him and letting him know everything was alright. But prior experience told her that whatever was bothering the little boy, that solution wouldn't help it any....

Now, Angie was partially right in what she was thinking, though she didn't know it. The deer-boy was indeed sick, but for different reasons than she might have imagined. All the running around and playing at her folk's place, trying to catch snowflakes with their tongues, making snowmen and deer, fairies and kits, had really been quite a bit of fun for all of them. Yet Kellen hadn't gotten his fill of the flakey white stuff. He wanted more and more, to go out and play with it even at this moment. Yes, it had been cold, but the cold felt kinda good on his little hooves as he ran around like a chicken with its head cut off. But with the warmish climate that the mansion resided in, snow was highly unlikely to fall here. Though he didn't realize, nor would he understand that, it still bothered him. Why couldn't the white stuff fall here so they could all have more fun?

For Shangri-LA is always dry, it doesn't cry like me.
In Hell-LA the sun is always there (it's always there), scalding the deep green sea.

Angie continued to tap her pen atop of the journal she'd been working on, trying to rack her brain for solutions to bring back her mischievous little boy. Glancing over to her left, at the beside table that sat by the bed, the fox-girl spied the pack of pictures that had been taken on their trip. Reaching over to snatch them, Ang folded her legs underneath of her and opened the pack, pulling the delicate photos out of the folder. Flipping through each and every picture, she took a moment to remember the situation that surrounded each one. Some of them had pictures of Reneeka, one of the other family members that joined Kel and Angie on the trip, as she tried to hide in the xmas tree in the living room. Many a time she'd been mistaken as a strange, but beautiful tree decoration. Other's held memories of Ryuuen hiding silently in various areas, such as the top of the cabinets in the bathroom, various shelves in the pantry, and even in the fridge once. After each picture was glanced at, it was set out on the blue bedspread in which she sat, each one visible to whoever might be in the room, and want to see them Angie paused, however, when she saw a certain picture. It was taken when Kellen had been bounding around the various snow sculptures they'd made, looking quite happy amidst all the cold and whiteness. Could this be the reason why he was so down?

I'll never be a snowflake and waltz to earth so gently.
To form a perfect blanket, for someone else to walk on.

Sighing softly, the little deer boy closed his eyes, simply wishing for what couldn't be... When he opened them, nothing had happened. Nothing soft and fluffy fell from the heavens, not a single flake in sight. Slipping away from the window, the poor dejected deer-boy made his way over to the bed, pawing at Angie's leg, wanting up. When she obliged and picked him up, setting him up on the bed, he stepped over pictures, and on some, till he reached the pillow and sank down, stretching out for a moment before turning around an nosing a picture or two. One that held his interest was the one in Ang's hand. He slowly reached out his hoof/hand to take the picture from her, wanting to look at it more. Kel's deep emerald eyes gazed into Angie's, silently pleading her for the picture.

Allowing the baby to take the picture, which he then held close to his chest as he looked at it intently, Angie gently pulls Kellen onto her lap. Wrapping her arms around his tiny middle, the fox-girl looked over his shoulder at the picture he held. He did indeed look so very happy in the picture... She wished there was something she could do to bring him that happiness again. But she highly doubted anywhere near here held snow. What little Angie'd seen in Gaia had melted away a while back, and he hadn't been with her when she'd seen it. Sighing softly, Ang slowly rocked back and forth, soothing the tired little boy, lulling him to sleep. She hoped, as she felt his body begin to relax, that he would dream of that which he longed for, and that in his dreams he would have as much fun as the picture showed he'd had. That wouldn't be a cure, but maybe that would help him out, a little at the very least. It pained her to see her sweet little boy so upset right now.

I've lost my mind in wanderlust, my heart cannot be found.
My body yearns for the warmth of snow, but the sun keeps pouring down.
These streets have signs that point somewhere, but there I don't belong.
And there's no more use, to curl your hair, when your innocence is gone.

Yawning widely, Angie sunk down upon the pillows at the head of the bed, quickly followed by the snoozing Kel. Her arms wrapped a bit tighter around the boy, comforting him even if he seemed rather calm. It was serene moments like these that kept Angie going, kept her sane through all the trying times. They'd get through this somehow, she'd make sure of it. As her eyes closed, Ang's tail curled over to protectively cover Kellen, her ears flopping lazily to the sides. They'd see snow again. She'd make sure of it, if only to make him happy for a little while longer. But she'd have to find something else to catch his attention as much as the snow had, so that they wouldn't have to go through this again.

I only wish for snow to fall, on the palm trees in the dirt.
But here the sun will always shine (always shine), even if with clouds it flirts.
