Cog Wirl

PostPosted: Tue Jan 05, 2010 1:42 pm

Flicking back her hat from her face, Wirl looked up from a game of poker with Kent (Who was absolutely terrible at Poker, it would seem. The boy had no, er, Poker Face.)

"Ah kin' kick yer a** a'poker later, Greenie." Wirl said, tucking her tiny deck of cards back into her brassire, just to see Kent blush and look away. "We's bein' summoned."

Wirl moved until she could see whom was doin' all the squallin', then took off her hat and waved up at East.

"Lawdy, Miz East! Ya got a setta lungs on ya a coondog would envy!" She grinned, making her way up a stool and up to the bar. "Whateveah ya need help with, honey, ya got me fer it."

"Golly, I wasn't doing that bad..." Kent said, ruffling his own hair rather self-concioiusly. He thought he'd been doing quite well at poker, actually! Wirl was just better, but she was a bit strange.

He followed his much louder little companion into the bar, waving up at East with a slight blush. "Gosh, it's good to see you again, Miss East!" He said, pulling himself up much like Wirl had. "If I can do anything to help, I will!" Oh, Kent. You were so adorable with your honest desire to help anyone.

On the other side of the iBar, Stet looked up from the ear bud he was leaning against, his foot pausing in mid tap as he leaned over to bodily press the pause button on the iPod. It seemed the ever charming East was using her impressive set of...lungs to call forth those who were around. Well. Who was he to ignore a woman with such amazing lungs in need of help?

Putting a hand in his pocket, he strode across the iBar, leaving a path of orange in his wake, coming up to the gifted East and giving her his most charming smile. "Anything for my favorite dance partner," he chuckled, turning his cherry-red eyes to Sin with a nod - he hadn't met that one - and then to Wirl and Kent. "Besides," he grinned at his green friend, "can't let Hero have all the fun."

A turf of green and red hair stuck out from around one of the chairs at a table in the bar, shifting as an alarmingly loud voice shook a feminine C*cktail from her momentary rest. Opening her eyes and gazing over towards the bar, Vino silently glanced at Wirl, Kent, and Stet joining Sin with the lovely East, who seemed to be the owner of the loud voice.

After the long night of celebration, Vino couldn't honestly say she was interested in leaving her comfy and warm spot on one of the chairs in the far corner, but her curiousity and the possibility of misfortune and fun beckoned to her. "Mmmmmm," she stretching her arms above her head as she got up and hopped down from the chair while mumbling, "I'm coming, just a moment."

The light clicks from her intricate heels announced her approach to the bar, before she managed to climb up onto the counter. With the slight dance to her step, her footprints trailed behind her on the technology savvy counter. "What can we do to assist you, East darlin'? I wouldn't want to leave you in distress, after all." Strolling over to the gathering group, she reached out to sling an arm over Wirl's shoulder as she placed her other hand on her hip. "You'll need all the help you can get with Kent and Stet helping." Renn's face lit up with a grin as she winked over at the two C*cktails that she was teasing.

Levi Redd

Levi Redd looked up from where he was tuning his violin. It had been a quiet night, and Redd hated quiet nights, so a grin spread across his face as he bounded up to meet their charming hostess's troubles. "What seems to be the situation?" he drawled, offering her a cheeky salute. "Never let it be said that a Redd didn't do their duty as a gentleman."

Redd continually insisted that he was from an old and highly aristocratic family. The fact that almost everyone knew he was actually from an alcoholic beverage did not deter him one whit. The fact that Redd was not an actual last name did not deter him one whit. Redd was the kind of man who figured that as long as you had decided to lie about something, you might as while do it outrageously, all evidence aside. It was what kept him going when there was nothing else to do.

My word, were they all her friends? He had no idea of the scope of his vivacious sister's socialisation while he was cleaning glasses in the kitchen - and he had little desire to stick around and find out; he could never feel at ease in a crowd. With a hesitant nod in return to Stet, he murmured, backing away, "Well, with all this help it looks like you won't be needing me any longer..."

After she took a breath she smiled with overwhelmed glee - it was so nice to see them all together so fast! Plus, the array of colours made them look like they came right out of Power Rangers: 2 Feet Tall and Trippy. "You guys," she said, a joy swelling in her chest, "thank you for answering the call!" The grin stayed as she swiftly reached to pull her brother back by his ponytail. "our problem is, Maxwell just ran off and we need to get a crate of champagne from the shopping district that's a little far. I don't think Sin and I can do this alone, but I'm sure together all of us can do it!

So - any suggestions?"

Wirl crossed her arms and frowned. Hm! That was indeed a conondrum!

"Yeah, don' wanna git stepped on." She said, taking off her hat and tipping the brim up and down. Hmmm...! "Iffen we stay in our group, mebbe we warn't get squished. Wouldn't want yer prettyboy there t'get scuffed up, neither." Wirl grinned at the poor man who was unable to escape. Oh noes!

Poor Kent had been a bit reassured by the appearance of his friend Stet, only to blush again at the slight teasing of Vino. He rubbed the back of his head and grinned.

"Awww, shucks, Miss Vino, you know we'll all be fine." He said, chewing on his lower lip. He gave a nod and a wave to Levi Redd, whom he wasn't sure if he'd seen before, but it was always good to be polite!

"Gosh, that sounds dangerous! Even if we get there, we might have trouble bringing a case back! What're we gonna do, unpack it and carry it back one by one?"

Stet's expression lit into a cheeky grin, giving Vino a wink of acknowledgement at her ribbing. He had no rebuttal; it was partially in truth that they might need more help with them tagging along with such a crew. His eyes flicked to the red-gent he hadn't met proper, but by his dapper get up and most curious drawl, he had a mostly positive mark in Stet's book.

Amused by the treatment of the unfortunate brother, he listened to Wirl and Kent speak, rubbing his chin with some thought. Wine was something he was familiar with in crates, but champagne? "Well, Hero, it depends on what type of crate we're looking at,"he responded, leaning on logic for a change. "Could have one to a box, six, maybe a dozen to a crate. I'ma not sure myself, champagne is not my specialty."

He crossed his arms over his chest, the transparent fabric of his undershirt crinkling audibly with the motion. "So! Then," he quirked one corner of his mouth in a 'tsk'ing fashion, "anyone know how much we're looking at?" Stet was going to need to have a talk with Maxwell, leaving such a hefty task to the likes of the lovely ladies and lady-like gent!

Vino subtly shifted and glanced curiously over to the red C*cktail joining them. Hmm, someone she had not met before, it seemed. Redd, was it? While all of the C*cktails, the men especially, seemed to be humble in one way or another, there was something rather. . .devilish, about that one. 'This could be fun,' Vino thought as she grinned at her own thoughts, a spark of mischief lighting her eyes. Having never met Sin before either, she sized him up as she had with Redd. So many friends, yet so many new toys--er, C*cktails--to play with.

"Well, the standard weight of a champagne bottle is," Vino paused to tick off numbers on her fingers while she surprisingly came up with an answer, "Roughly 3 1/2 pounds, or 1.6 kilograms. But like Stet love said, we don't know how many there are. Do you know how much champagne there is, East dear?" Running her fingers back through her hair as she balanced on her heels, she stretched while shaking her head. "Well, I guess we should focus on the first problem. Gettin there without getting squished and scuffed, as Wirly girly would put it."

Pursing her lips thoughtfully, Vino glanced around the group as she made a, perhaps foolish, suggestion, "I suppose if we all partnered up and one rode on the shoulders of the other, we'd be three to four feet tall, enough to be noticable. It wouldn't exactly be the easiest way, but it beats getting stomped on."

Vino shrugged her shoulders as she took a seat on the edge of the counter. No other ideas were coming to mind. Of course she could of have suggested taking some hormone extract from some tropical plants she was taking care of, but she hadn't done any testing with it, and it'd be an issue if the experiment, well, didn't go exactly as planned.

Redd watched as the others made suggestions, grinning widely at Kent, and giving Vino the once over as he caught her looking at him. The look in her eyes was... interesting to say the least. Redd would not admit to being a troublemaker, but he would admit to being rascally eccentric, and the look in her eyes was a familiar one.

As for East's problem, normally he would wave money at it until it went away. Due to various activities and investments of rather questionable legality, Redd was wealthier than the woman whose house he lived in. However, money and credit cards were hard for a C*cktail to carry around. Money was inconvenient, and having it was more a way of keeping score and furnishing his dollhouse mansion on the side. And his funny little servant woman, that one who had ordered him as a drink (What was her name? Katie? Katherine? Dull woman.) wasn't around to do it for him. Redd faced the fact that he might have just inadvertently volunteered for physical labour.

There had to be a better option. Levi Redd did not do physical labour unless he had a really good reason.

"All we really have to do," he drawled, "is get one of those humans outside to notice us and convince them to do the grunt work. Surely all of us can persuade at least one of those tall ones out there." Flashing them a toothy smile, he added, "I suggest we try a lady. They tend to think that tiny men with debonair manners are charming."

Charlè's late arrival into the conversation was to be blamed on his immensely short stature and reasonable naivete of the building due to existing only a few days. He appeared over the edge of the bar, pedaling his feet to keep from falling, and gave a frustrated little huff.

"Perhaps if we--oh..." It really was rather hard to stay upright here. If only someone would help...!

"If we were to find a cart of some kind; small enough for us to push? Assuming the citizens wouldn't think it was one of the Animated..." He paused then and heaved himself upon the bar ungracefully, running a hand through messy off-white wisps of hair.

"Perhaps a banner or a flag raised on a wire? That, of course, would leave the question of how to get the boxes back."
PostPosted: Thu Jan 07, 2010 5:10 pm

Vino stifled a gentle laugh behind her hand as watche Charlè struggle. Getting up to help him, she found he managed it on his own, even if a bit clumsily. "Are you alright darlin'?" Vino offered a supporting hand on his shoulder, just to make sure he wasn't still dizzy from the struggle. As luscious, child-inappropriate, and cheeky as she was, she had a soft spot for kids.

Hmm. Those are both good ideas. Considering if we could find someone willing to give us a lift, or a cart for us to take? Getting a humans attention with out getting stepped on will still be a risk of course. I don't suppose we have a cart somewhere in here, do we?" Twirling a piece of hair around her finger as she pouted her lips, she didn't see anything of interest to her in the immediate area that she could think of helping them.

Letting go of Charlè's shoulder, she wandered to the edge of the counter and jumped, landing on the seating of one of the bar stools. Fear of heights wasn't an issue. Climbing skillfully down it, she let go once more, dropping to the ground with a 'umph'. Brushing soft locks of hair out of her eyes, Vino strutted towards the back room to see if there might be any supplies that would be of use to them in their journey.
