Sweet oxygen flowed into her lungs, but the abuse meant it was a little hard for Alkaid to get her head on straight. As soon as Val had released her, she collapsed onto the pavement next to her feet, one hand barely supporting her as the other clutched at her throat. Her breath was coming ragged gasps and her eyes were still filled with dancing spots, swirling black specks that she was sure had been the first signs of passing out.
And yet, in the background she could hear a voice that sounded almost too good to be true. Saiph, her amazing partner with amazing timing. As oxygen started to flow through her lungs, and thus through the rest of her body, she started to get a bit of sense back into her brain. If she was too close to the negaverser that meant that Saiph couldn't attack her. She knew her partner well enough to know she'd never risk hitting her with tail thrash if she could help it.
Still breathing heavily and feeling light-headed on top of it, Alkaid tried to scramble to her feet. Sadly, that attempt ended with her wobbling on unsteady legs before she'd even got her knees off the ground. So, instead, she pushed herself onto all fours (later she would groan at how completely undignified this was) and tried to crawl away instead - hopefully without attracting the attention of the costumed negaverser. Slowly, she began to inch herself away from them both, and to the side. She should have aimed for Saiph if she wanted to be safe, but that's unfortunately where the lieutenant was looking. So, instead, she had to hope that she could sneak away.
Thankfully no one else was there to see it.

Okay. That had been laaaaame.
But if anything, the insult had been perfectly justified by the Mesozoic outfit. With the tattered clothes, the ragged boots, and the horrid fangs strewn all over her body.. It was a wonder how she had gone on as a disaster like this for so long. Seriously, she needed to keep up with the times.
She was tempted to offer in taking the girl shopping, but she doubted that the senshi would appreciate the kind gesture for what it was.
With the push of a fingertip, the hat tipped upward only to reveal a expression of cheerfulness on the lieutenant's face. "Alice in Wonderland, huh? Not a bad idea." She chuckled, as she toyed with the accessories near her waist. Though she pretended indifference towards the senshi's words and patronizing tone, she could help but to clench her fists in slight annoyance. Who was she to talk?
With a flip of her hair, she gave the senshi a challenging grin. "Oh, like you could do any better?" She mocked, with a gesture towards Alkaid's pathetic position. Though she didn't bother to spare the tiger-striped senshi a glance, leaving the senshi to slowly escape from her sight.
"Tell me. What it's like to save the day out there? I heard it's fantastic, getting the s**t beat out of you on a daily basis. Is it?"
