Kamiko just giggled and picked up the menu. While there were some things she couldn't pronounce she did see a few meals that looked edible. However like any self-conscious girl she didn't want to order something overly expensive. She looked up as their waiter, a very prim and proper looking young man in what almost looked like a tux, walked over.
"Good evening to the Lady and Gentleman. Chef's special this evening is glazed duck la'orang on a bed of rice with a lovely glass of our best house wine. What would the Lady prefer to wet her palette?"
"I would just like water please," Kamiko smiled politely. She never drank alcohol, it wasn't good for a superhero to drink.
"Absolutely my Lady. And for the Gentleman?" he looked to Eli.

"Water for me as well, please," Eli said, glancing over his menu. His reasons for staying away from alcohol had mostly to due with seeing his twin drunk and realizing he never, ever wanted to risk that kind of behavior in public. Private might be another matter, but he couldn't really see any reason for it.
As for food--he was never a big eater, so trying to ascertain what he could finish was his main challenge.

The waiter soon returned with their glasses and a pitcher of water for them to use as they pleased. He poured their first glass, setting each before the respective drinker. He then took out a small notepad and nodded to Kamiko first. "What will M'lady be dining on this fine evening?"
Kamiko giggled at how formal everything was but tried to remain as ladylike as she could, "I would like the Filet Minon with wild rice and steamed vegetables please."
"Ah excellent choice madam, and how would you like it prepared?"
"Medium rare, please," yeah this puppy liked her meat to bleed a little but at least she got healthy veggies too!
"And for the gentleman?" he wrote down Eli's order. "If the lady and gentleman will note the dance floor, our orchestra plays both a comprised list of songs or, if you prefer, a piece of your own choosing. I shall have your dinner out shortly."
As soon as he left a younger looking waiter appeared with some fresh rolls and breadsticks for the two to snack on until their meal arrived. Kamiko daintily took one, tearing it into smaller bits on her small plate and ate them one at a time. Japanese raising did have some affect on her eating habits.

Eli liked the sound of dancing, though he thought it quite unlikely the small orchestra would be readily familiar with his favorite string pieces. Still, the urge to try requesting 'Battle of Rose' was pretty tempting...
"Ah, we should try dancing later," Eli suggested. He was pretty sure he remembered Kamiko being able to dance more formally. That made him remember his parents' wedding again, and the thought of Missy dancing with Seth--I wonder if he still remembers that...
