There were probably no card companies that made cards of that calibur, unless they were joke e-card sites. It seemed Ignacio had hit a chord, though, and Ignacio was going to pursue that chord for all it was worth. Perhaps she could remember yet, and perhaps he could gain someone else to talk to about everything that had haunted him. Perhaps they could spread the truth. Perhaps, for him, continuing to tell others would continue to lessen the sadness. "Those nightmares, Cali... They don't just haunt you."

Ignacio had decidedly moved his sandwich away from him. With the thoughts of the hunger that had followed him for over a month flooding back to his mind, he was no longer hungry. Ignacio could ignore things most of the time. The fact that he had been an inhuman monster who hungered for flesh was still a bit of a shock.

"That's what Barren Pines was. A school with false pretenses... that turned us into flesh-hungering monsters. That's what those nightmares are, Cali. Flashes of the past." Ignacio's expression had twisted into something much more disturbed, now, far from the pleased look he had when he had been drinking the coffee from this new cafe.

Perhaps that was why he scooped his cup up and took another sip.

"So your telling me that those nightmares are real? That my blood spattered dreams that wake me up screaming- there all real?" The impact was hard for Calintha to swallow. She'd thought they were just the result of some kind of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. That's what all the doctors had told her; they'd even prescribed medication for it (not that the pills did a fat lot of good anyways).

Her brown eyes paced back and forth along the table before finally landing on Ignacio's face. It was a little twisted now, not entirely grins and smiles. She could see pain, clear as day. Maybe the same things that haunted her also haunted the boy in front of her.

"Do you want to go for a walk?" She looked around her for a few seconds before turning back.

"This cafe is starting to feel a bit stuffy..." Calintha knew the notion was ridiculous. How did an outdoor patio get stuffy? The truth of the matter was that she felt positively trapped. People's stares were becoming more and more frequent, and less and less polite. She had a chill that was raising goose-bumps on her arms and neck. The blonde girl just felt the need to get out of her own skin.

(( Since we have to ignore what was said before? I think we can mentally replace it with the idea that Ignacio is suspicious that two people are having the same types of dreams... this is something he wants to look into further. That would still be suitably freaky, I think. Same school, same nightmares? ))

Going outside sounded good. He picked up his coffee (and left what was left of his sandwich) and gave a curt nod, getting out of his seat. This was weird. What haunted him seemed to haunt her, and he knew something had gone wrong in there. He wasn't buying the 'organ ring' story, really. Something within him told him it was wrong, but he wasn't really sure why. Couldn't figure out even why he would feel that it was wrong, other than a gut-feeling and strange matching nightmares.

Unfortunately, this was the type of thing that drove Ignacio crazy when he read his Whodunnit books. It was something that told him it was on the tip of his conscious but it just wouldn't come out. And until then, it would haunt him. And he'd have to figure it out.

Ignacio was determined to. "Anywhere you want to walk to?" asked Ignacio, briefly welcoming the diversion from the subject. If anything, it gave him some time to think about what had been said, and maybe fish for more mental clues. His expression looked less disturbed and more baffled at this point.

"I'm fine with anywhere, so long as it isn't Meadowview." He would avoid going to school for as long as passably possible, after all, or until his father threatened to boot him out of the house or something...

Calintha giggled a little when he mentioned Meadowview. It was true that she didn't particularly want to attend school anymore either, but since the government had no clue exactly how long she'd been missing, they'd told her she'd either have to repeat the last two years or not get her high school diploma. "I agree with that, no school please! But my apartments nearby, and there is a nice little park down the corner." She smiled a bit though at the sound of a laugh coming from her own throat. Didn't seem to be much humor these days with her, though the smile quickly faded as she looked at the street behind Ignacio.

She shivered a little as she stood up. "As long as we don't go that way, I'm fine with anywhere else." She nodded her head to the street behind them. For some reason it seemed darker to her, sinister almost. Even though the people on the street seemed to be bustling along happily, just as always. It gave her the chills.

The government was a little more lenient when it came to Ignacio; it happened that Ignacio had finished all of his state-given requirements as a junior before he went missing, so all he needed to do now was finish his senior requirements and graduate. Ignacio still wanted to go in as a junior, though, even though his father had quite a different idea about it. "Alright, we can go over there then." Ignacio offered a typical grin in turn, attempting to lighten up a little.

He couldn't help looking at the street that Calintha was gesturing to. What did she sense from over there? Why did it feel sinister? The Sherlock Holmes lover in hime wanted to say that they should go over there and check out what was going on, but at the same time he didn't want to lose Calintha who seemed to be someone who shared his same fears. It was odd; they both came from Barren Pines and they both shared the same horrors...

There had been something fishy about that school. "Do you live alone?" He asked, suddenly jumping from what he was thinking to a new topic in no time flat.

"Alright then." She nodded and led the way out of the patio and onto the street. It was fairly busy, everyone was shopping around. She noticed quite a few high school age students around her as well, and figured they must have been shopping for supplies before the semester started.

Ignacio looked a little perplexed about the mention of the street, but she was glad that he didn't ask any questions because Calintha couldn't explain it. "Unless you count plants as roommates, yes, I live alone." She smiled gently. It was a bit difficult being away from her sister and father (though, being away from her mother was quite nice.)

"Me and my mum... don't really get along. She ponied up the money for a small apartment so I could move out and come to school in the city." Sticking her hands in her pockets, she looked about her as they walked. It was a pretty beautiful day with the sun shining and all of the leaves still green and bright before the coming of fall. "What about you? Do you live with your family?"

He had to admit, when he thought of Barren Pines, one of the few things that left him with at least a decent feeling was the thought that he got to live alone without anyone breathing down his neck all the time. Calintha must have had it good. Her mother wanted her out! She paid for her to get out! It would be a dream for Papa Baldomero to admit that they couldn't stand each other and would toss money at him to let him go.

Of course, that really wasn't how it worked, and that was Ignacio just being agitated with their arguments. Papa cared, really... it was just that they spent half the time fighting about the way Ignacio behaved and presented himself. "That's not too bad. Guess it's like dorming at Barren Pines except... not with all the bad parts." Whatever those bad parts were. Ignacio could come up with many theories but he couldn't nail it down.

...It had to be something to do with these shared nightmares though. "Yeah, I live with my family." And again, his mind moved to another subject. "I've got my mother, father, and my sister living with me. My father and I don't get along too well, but I get along with my mother and my sister."

Calintha guided the way to her apartment, strolling casually with a boy she'd not really quite met until today, talking about a school that couldn't quite be explained. "Seems like we're opposites then. I get along perfectly with my Father and my little sister. I don't even think I've spoken more than a sentence to my mother since before I got accepted at Barren Pines."

The park that the blonde teen had spoken about wasn't really anything more than a small square of grass with a few trees, benches, and lamp posts. It was surrounded by streets on all sides and probably was about the size of a half a city block. Though, Cali had to admit it was better than her windows facing a brick wall or another building.

Her apartment itself was above a little drugstore. The building looked fairly old, and certianly nothing special. Most people would simply just walk past it without a second thought. "Would you like to come up? I know you've just eaten and still have coffee I think, but I could make some tea? I've got cookies too I think still, made from scratch just a few days ago." It wasn't much, but with her meager budget it was all she could afford. Plant sales would go up in the winter, but until then she lived pretty much just from her mothers contributions.

She probably should have been thinking about how strange it was to invite someone she barely knew into her apartment where she lived alone, but Cali was never really one to double think things.

"My father and I speak pretty often, but it's mostly him yelling at me and me trying to explain myself." Ignacio let out a small sigh, but then shook his head out of it. No, Baldomero was being okay, for now. He was still being a nag, but it wasn't as bad as Ignacio remembered, yet. Except at dinner. Dinnertime was embarrassing, because Baldomero kept asking why Ignacio hadn't sent in any college applications yet despite only being home for two days.

...Ugh.

"Sure; I'd never reject an invitation." Ignacio offered a small smile, nodding for Calintha to lead him upstairs. He probably would have thought more of it, if he didn't feel close to every one from Barren Pines because they all had experienced something terrible together, whatever exactly that something terrible was. Well, that and Ignacio didn't particularly care.

Calintha seemed nice enough, and she shared his nightmares. That was enough for Ignacio to at least consider her an acquaintance, and that was all he needed to go to someone's house.

She led him to a small door on the side, which blended into the shop front like nobody's business. The stairs weren't very wide, and they led up to two doors. Cali veered to the left, and unlocked a solid looking door.

Inside was a quaint little apartment, a studio separated into two rooms by a bit of wall built in on each side, leaving a wide open gap in the middle. There was a kitchen, fair sized, with an island that also served as a dining room table, flanked by a few bar stools. Beyond that was a little space with a couch and two little chairs, centered around a low coffee table. To the left side there was a bathroom.

Calintha dropped her stuff at the door and took off her shoes. She head into the kitchen to put on a tea kettle. The next room beyond, however, was quite different. It was like stepping into a greenhouse, chock full with exotic plants. Almost the entire far wall was windowed, heavy drapes gathered at the center of them. On one side was a small bed, partitioned off by a folding screen. On the other, however, was rows and rows of different kind of plants, each more strange than the next.

She looked around her and sighed. "Its not much, but its home."

The apartment looked like a simple studio with almost two rooms; not too bad, considering she said her mother didn't like her. The apartment was fascinating, though, and not because it was a little bigger than he was expecting. The plants... There were so many different kinds of plants. Ignacio had no idea what any of them were. That one had some flowers on it, maybe that was a Venus Fly Trap? He had heard of those.

"Cali, what are all these?" Ignacio didn't sound disgusted; rather, he sounded curious. They had taken over his interest at the moment instead of the tea that Calintha was making. He wanted to see all of the plants; how many of these were there?

He went to touch one of them, and then drew his hand back cautiously. It might be a bad idea to touch; he didn't know anything about any of these and the last thing he wanted to do was annoy a new acquaintance at the moment, especially since he was in her house. "It's like a home and a greenhouse at the same time. So this was what your gift entailed..." It was like she had her own personal jungle!

Calintha came up behind him and nodded her head. "Yes, this is what I'm good at. Though, for some reason I can't raise 'normal' plants, just the weird ones." She smiled softly at all of her plants. They were the reason she'd gotten the bigger apartment. Apparently her sister had been taking care of them after Calintha had disappeared and her mother wanted all of them gone. Remove her negative influence or something like that.

"Its okay if you touch, I don't keep any here that would hurt you on contact. Try running your finger along the basin of that one." Cali pointed to the green and yellow trumpet in the corner. It was a trapdoor plant that when stimulated shut its mouth, so to speak. Pretty scary for a bug, but no more than a tickle for a human. "Keeping plants is what keeps me at peace. Plus they have a lot of practical applications as well."

Cali wondered aloud. "What got you into Barren Pines?" She was always curious at others gifts.

Ignacio moved his hand towards the basin of the one Calintha pointed out, and jumped slightly when the plant suddenly snapped its mouth shut. Then, after a few seconds, he couldn't help his laugher. That was pretty cool! After withdrawing his hand, he couldn't help doing it again just to see that trapdoor plant snap shut again.

As it was, he seemed more interested in the plants for the moment than Calintha. Still, he was keeping up conversation with, but not without distracted pauses. "Jack-of-all-Trades," he eventually said, once he decided to stop agitating the trapdoor plant. "That's what they called it, anyway. I've never had much trouble picking up new things or doing new things."

Not that he was perfect, his subconscious reminded him. But then his conscious bruised ego glared daggers and reminded his subconscious with whatever it was hiding that Ignacio was Adonis with Einstein's brains. "These plants are all so different than what I'm used to. I think your version of the green thumb is very interesting." And he was being honest, obvious by the way that he was already touching some of the other plants.

Blush tinged her cheeks as she looked away. "Thank you." It wasn't often that someone complimented her on her plant work. More often than not, actually, people thought it was very strange and it seemed to make them uncomfortable. Like the plant was going to wake up and eat them. Like...like a monster.

Uncomfortable with her own line of thought, Calintha shook her head and looked back up at Ignacio. "I keep all different kinds, usually what I can feasibly grow in here. Some plants just wont grow in these conditions." She took a step up next to the table and ran a finger along some of the plants. A few closed, some did nothing.

These plants weren't monsters. What haunted their nightmares were monsters. Ignacio offered a grin at her as she blushed, his conscious ego winning out against his subconscious bruised acknowledgement of his own mortality as he mentally figured he must've charmed her in some way. Of course he did. Everyone wanted a piece of Ignacio Araya.

"Of course, Calintha. Unique talents are always the most interesting." He flashed another grin before he turned his attention back to the plants, now wondering if he would be able to raise plants like these. Probably not, plants took cultivation and care and Ignacio was perfectly willing to acknowledge that he didn't much have the patience for that.

Still, for now, they were interesting to observe. "I'm usually used to seeing florists keep like... roses and stuff. These plants are way more interesting. And you said they had special uses too?" He jumped topics, but at least he didn't completely change the subject.
