"I didn't know what you liked, so I got a few different things to try an-...Did Elzo do something stupid again?" Marlo bursting into the room, arms laden with cakes, each in individual boxes with forks attached, was a bit of a shocker.
Elzo jumped. "I didn't do anythi- Is that dark chocolate and raspberry?"
"Not for you. Eve and Rea get the first pick. You get leftovers."
"But you know that dark chocolate and raspberry is my favor-"
"I would have guessed d**k was your favorite flavor, but, then I'd be wrong wouldn't I?"
"You are an a*****e sometimes you know that Marlo? AND I DON'T LIKE d**k. JESUS. " Marlo ignored his brother's ramblings as he placed the cakes onto Eve's lap.
"Sorry if he upset you guys. He's like that." Elzo was in the background, glaring daggers in Marlo's back before brotherly awkwardness filled the room. A small look from Elzo sent in the girl's direction. It was a silent code for asking the girls to not tell Marlo about their reason for the angry faces and his own rage.

He needn't have worried.
Once Marlo burst into the room, it took only a moment for a smile to burst out on Eve's face as she focused her attention on him. (And forgot about Castor, a.k.a. Elzo Xanis.) She was a pretty good actress, and though the smile wasn't as bright as usual, it looked considerably happy enough for a patient that had bruises on her face. "If you say stupid by meaning his usual self, maybe?" She winked. "What did you get? You didn't have to go to the expense, you know." Again, she was touched by Marlo's thoughtfulness. It really was sweet of him.
"I like anything with chocolate and cream, really." She said, peering into the boxes. "How about you, Rea? Pick one!"

"And the second panty boy comes to the rescue."
It was a blessing in disguise. And bearing delicious treats. Although Rea didn't completely relax, she felt the tension lift marginally, even if it was only her own tension and not the tension of the room. Offering a noncommittal wave of a hand, she gave Eve and Marlo as light a smile as she could, nudging them towards the sweets.
"Please, I'm not the one in the hospital bed -- I also happen to be very easy-going about sweet things."
Glancing up at the younger boy, she gave him a mock-suspicious look, raising her eyebrows. "Trying to get on her good side before prom, hm? Smooth."

As Marlo opened his mouth to tell them that his panty thieving days were behind him, he quickly shut it. A pink tingle ran aross his face, and Elzo just looked on and grinned. "He's a charmer Eve! Careful, if you give him the chance he'll sweep you off of your feet!" Elzo's glib was cut short then by an arm pulling him into a headlock, the added bonus of a death glare thrown in.
"I'm trying to make Eve's stay marginally more comfortable. And, I would also consider this culinary bribery for putting up with you." Elzo tried to look hurt, but it only came out looking like he was going to laugh some more.
Letting Elzo go, ("Oh god I forgot you had such a vice grip, jesus"), the younger brother began to lay out the cake selection by Eve, napkins and forks, (spoons too. Some people preferred them) lined the edges ready for the 'digging in' part.
Marlo's face was still pink. "And for the record, I won't be stealing any more undergarments." Pink was not red as the memory flooded his mind.

Eve laughed at Rea's comment about Marlo getting in on her good side. In all honesty, he did pretty much owe them with the whole panty-raiding incident, which he seemed pretty embarrassed by. It was pretty cute actually, and Eve wondered if she would just let it slide or tease him when he least expected it, letting him know that she would never forget it.
The latter seemed pretty tempting.
"What, like literally, sweeping me off my feet and carrying me wherever I want to go?" She asked, giving Elzo a little wink. She still remembered when he had done that to her, twice, even. Eve had practically been giggling all the way back to Crystal then.
She picked up a fork, offered Rea one, then deftly picked a strawberry off one of the cakes. Mmm, it was sweet, just the way she liked it. "Well, if you do," she said, in between bites, "then I would have to look for another prom date. And it's probably hard to find one now, anyway, so don't make things troublesome for me, kay?

It was really great to hear Eve laugh, and the strawberry blonde girl relaxed a bit as she did so, feeling much better about the situation after that point. The wink helped a lot too, and the tension seemed to fade a bit between Elzo and the two senshi. In fact, Rea remembered the instance that Eve was referring to. She had been quite surprised when she had looked out the window of their room to find her friend on Elzo's back. She'd grilled her roommate for hours over that one.
Overall, things seemed to be going alright it seemed. Maybe it was just because Marlo was there, blushing up a storm, something that even Rea thought was pretty cute. In a very 'you hurt my roommate I will break your face,' kind of way.
"Yeah, because I might have to kill you," Rea responded, her expression completely level, eyebrows raised in a very 'are you sure I'm kidding?' look.

"Ah, no, I'm more of just one to escort you ho-"
"Haha! He'd go barbarian on you! Throw you over his shoulder and take you to his cave and-" At that moment, Marlo had done something he knew would shut his brother up.
A vanilla cake with blueberries was shoved into his brother's mouth, as Marlo's face turned a shade of red even apples would envy. "I wouldn't do that. Not that I wouldn't want to but, oh god that came out wrong." Marlo's hands were cupping his face as Elzo swallowed enough of the cake to start laughing with spewing crumbs all over.
"We should leave." This was said with his face in his hands and Elzo's laugher getting louder. "Eve, I love you. You need to hang around Marlo more if this is what happens."
Angry glares only made more laughter bubble forth.

Eve too, choked on Elzo's words about Marlo going all barbarian, launching into a giggling fit. It was a very amusing mental image to have, Marlo dressed in an animal skin and dragging a club while grabbing girls, and what he said later only made her laugh more. It was good she had just finished eating the strawberry, or else she would be littering crumbs on her bed, something which the nurses would probably disapprove of.
"Glad to know I'm a good influence." She said brightly. "Aren't I, Rea?" Eve liked to think that her roommate was getting a little bit more social after much prompting and encouraging she did.

Even Rea smiled at the mental image, albeit privately, more amused because she was under the impression that was how Castor always acted. If only his fuku reflected it, he'd be perfect. For once, however, she did not try to hide her amusement, instead raising her eyebrows at the two brothers questioningly. Eve really had been a good influence, at least on her.
"You're amazing," Rea replied, her voice slightly teasing to fit the giggly mood. Serenity bless Marlo, he had a good heart. Even if he was a panty-thief. And a bad one, at that. "And come prom-time I am sure there will be much 'marlo-spending' time. Under my spying eye, of course."

If Rea had wanted to sound reassuring to Marlo, he was far too embarrassed. The prom comment put the finishing touches of red in his face. "Uh, Marlo time? Oh um...Uh..." He wasn't sure what to say, Elzo thought he knew what to say, so he said it. "Aw, Rea, but what if they want to have a moment? Maybe several? Or a prolonged one? In the back. In the dar-"
"ELZO I SWEAR I WILL HURT YOU. I will hurt you in places I know you value highly. I will make you suffer if you even think to finish that comment." Marlo's out burst did shut Elzo up, but it was obvious that Elzo had more to say. He really want to say it, but gave the pair of girls a perverted grin. Marlo just glanced at them and kept on blushing up a storm.
It was a wonder he wasn't passing out from all the blood in his head. "We'll just be going now." Leaving the cakes on the bed, Marlo was trying his best to literally drag his brother out the door. Elzo slipped out his brother's grip long enough to rush back to Eve's side.
"Get well soon okay?" He gave her a tiny peck on the cheek. It was hardly romantic or anything. But the motion made Marlo freeze. Using this time, Elzo smiled a goodbye at Rea and rushed out of the door.
Giving Eve and Rea an apologetic look, then glaring down the hall after his brother, Marlo left.

"You're the one who would want to have a moment with your prom date." Eve retorted cheekily; come on, they all knew it was true. She wondered if Elzo had even gotten a prom date and if he had, it was a probably a pretty girl that Eve was not very sure she pitied or not. Elzo could be nice if he wanted to, but if he got too extreme...eh.
"Bye." She called off after the two, giving a reassuring smile and shrug towards Marlo. She didn't think too much about the kiss; Eve was probably one of the many girls that didn't really bother about Elzo's overly flirtatious (or would that be called affectionate?) personality.
"Lots of cake." She told Rea when they left, a fork stabbing into one of them. "Help me finish them all, kay?"
