Take care of himself? Ha. "No promises on that one, but I'll do my very best." That was the most honest bargain he could offer. Making promises? Not his strong point to begin. He'd never make one he couldn't keep, and taking care of himself would more than qualify. Not just him, but any of them. All of them ran around fighting monsters.
"Patrolling?" Jude raised both eyebrows, adorning a puzzled look for the ages. Who was going around giving him credit for patrolling? When was the last time he even went out for the sake of youma hunting and not Obsidian-tracking?
--Wait.
"Patrolling?" He didn't want to, but he couldn't help it. The laughter rose before he could stop and next thing he knew, Jude was doubling over in a hysterical fit. It hadn't been that funny, but the damage from battles past was making what should have been fun a painful endeavor. "Oh, s**t, ow. You're killing me, Ser."
Finally, he caught his breath in struggling gasps, placing his hand on his back and cracking it loudly. Ouch. "Ser, you're really misunderstanding what's going on. I haven't patrolled with Aries since before Barren Pines. --Come to think of it, I haven't patrolled with anyone since Barren Pines. Hero and I are together. A couple. You know? That's why I'm with her so much. If anything, I actively avoid getting into battles with Aries there." He nearly shuddered at the thought.
You never listen! I told you to--
Will you be quiet?!
Excuse me?!
I said--Ow! Stop hitting me! Hit the stupid monster!
If we're deciding which is which by intelligence level, then I can't tell the difference!
Nevermind. Jude did shudder.
Grayson was lucky to lack the imagination he had.

She had whirled around, face twisted up in confusion as she watched him laugh. "Are you alright?" She said in concern, rushing to his side. What had been so funny? What had she said-- oh.
Oh. Ohhhh.
"Oh." She breathed, even though her mind was repeating the same word over and over again in her head blankly. Hero. And Jude. Hero and Jude. Woooooww. She had never thought of Hero to be the type to have a boyfriend, and that boyfriend was Jude? She needed a moment for this to process her mind. "Well, uh... even so. I don't think it's safe to patrol alone anymore. Astraea said the Negaverse has been growing in number." And that the moon senshi she had awakened were complete retards, but Serenade hadn't met any of them yet to make any judgement.
She was about to get up and walk away, abashed, but then stopped again. "Maybe you could ask Hero why she's been fighting with Aurelia? It's been bothering me. They're best friends, after all."

Jude simply waved his hand. "Yeah, yeah. Of course they are. Wouldn't be the bad guys if they didn't. Who is that, anyway?" Probably some other Senshi or a guardian cat. The guardian cats loved crying dooms day every time it rained, if you asked his opinion.
He'd seen her without knowing it during the time they'd been breaking the barrier. Perhaps he'd met her before then and just didn't remember yet. Things were still coming back to him, and it was hard to be angry he was missing out when he was unaware of it.
But one thing he did know for certain...
"Girls get in little tiffs all the time, Ser," Jude put in lazily. Since Ser was herself a girl, he assumed she'd know this. Perhaps she would assume he thought the definition of "fight" included them complaining about the others choice of hair style. (If so, he'd have to side with Aurelia; Hero really needed to grow hers out.) "It's part of being a gal pal. One day you're writing BFF on your notebooks, the next you're talking with Jenny about how Jill told Rachael you had a crush on her brother. My sister used to do this kind of thing all the time. You think you're maybe worrying too much about it?"

"Astraea's a guardian cat." Serenade said. She also thought Astraea was pretty nice, and was probably the only senshi that had met the silver kitty who thought so. Still, she appreciated Astraea's efforts in awakening the moon senshi while they were gone and looking for them in Barren Pines.
"They're not really the kind to get into those little tiffs." She said with a sigh. "It was a serious fight; they were like, clawing at each other." In the communal showers too, but she didn't want to add that. It was still embarrassing to think of how she had just stepped in and seen the two of them fighting. She did hope Jude was right though, that the two would soon make up and be best friends again.

"Figures." Of course she'd be a guardian cat. Crying doom and guardian cat went together like Hero and Aurelia. Where there was one, there was the other.
Right?
"Clawing at each other?" Jude scratched under his chin and made a rather sour face for just a second or two. "You might be right, but I'm not sure if I'd be any help if I got involved. Hero likes me a lot more than she trusts me, I think." With that he was actively dismissing the conversation, leaving it as nothing more than a mental note for now. Later, he'd think more about it.
Later. At some point.
"Speaking of, she'd probably go batshit crazy if she saw you out here wandering around a place like this by yourself. Not exactly the up class neighborhood Crystal girls like Hero want you to be hanging around, I'd think. Where are you heading after this? I can call someone to pick you up."

The mention of Hero seeing her wandering about alone made her frown. She had thought it would be okay since she was going to see Jude, who was also Sailor Sagittarius, but she was duly reminded of when Charonite captured her. It had been a bleak, lonely and fearful period of time and she didn't want to go through that again. She understood why Hero was so protective of her, it was just that sometimes she felt a little stifled. This was perhaps also why she didn't go out too often.
Though back then, she did like going out... with him...
"I'm going back to Crystal." She replied, scuffling her feet, trying to console herself with the thought that Hero didn't seem to be nearby at the time.

A lot of the Zodiac respected freedom, and Sagittarius was one of them. He knew what it was like to be boxed in because of this group. What he didn't know was what having to be shielded felt like.
Being protected all the time, followed everywhere? Ugh. The thought of it was frustrating. He was a grown man in his mind, though, and Serenade was a girl far too young for the position of power she was destined for. And, in his opinion, probably too...
He wasn't really sure, but whatever it was, she was too much of it.
Just like he was too empathetic with her, as much as he didn't want to be. He'd seen the life of people who didn't care; looked a lot easier to live that way. "I know it sucks, Ser, and I swear I'd like nothing more than to let you wander around whenever and wherever you wanted."
But?
But nothing. He didn't say anything after that.

She took in a deep breath and expelled a sigh. He was right, she did sometimes long to be normal, to wander around without any supervision at all. But over time, Serenade had grown to comprehend this and had never complained, even as they had been first awakened. And now, she was starting to grasp how serious this situation really was and was ready to face it like how she was supposed to.
"I can live with it." She said, giving him a reassuring smile to tell him not to worry. "I lived with it before, I can do it again."
Another pause. "So, who's going to pick me up?" She sounded too cheerful to be true.

Jude was going to tell her: "I can call a buddy of mine."
He only made it half-way through the sentence before he remembered, no, he couldn't call his friend or anyone. No phone. No car. What the Hell was he supposed to do here?
"Actually, I'll just have to walk you back. Give me a minute." The door went up, the door went down. After less than his allowed minute, it opened again, and out stepped Jude who at least had a shirt on now and looked somewhat presentable.
"Alright, ready then?" He approached her with his arm extended in a true, gentlemanly fashion. It had more to do with him being Jude than her being Chronos, but it worked out either way. "I've got plenty of time today, so it's no trouble."

She had waited patiently for his answer, wondering which Zodiac he would call (Who would definitely not be Hero). However, Jude promptly told her that he would be the one walking her back and Serenade did not give much thought to it. Secretly, she was glad that he was doing this; it would be nice to spend time with him again, even if it was walking beside him with not much to say.
Honestly, she was rather terrible at keeping conversations going.
"Thank you." She told him, taking his arm as the two of them, with their pink eyes, walked toward the gates of Crystal Academy. She did not care if anyone saw her, or thought her strange for hanging out with a dropout. All that mattered was that things were relatively okay now, and she had to hold her head high and carry on living.
That was what he would have wanted her to do.

"Don't mention it." As usual, when he said 'don't mention it' he really meant don't mention it. Any praise he'd get from Hero wasn't worth it if it took her scolding someone else to get it.
Serenade need not take blame because she had little to say since Jude never had much of anything to say to most of the Zodiac. To be fair, the only things he could think to talk about her were subjects that would probably end with her upset or her crying (yikes). Dead people, Barren Pines, Negaverse fights. So on.
Probably for the best this time he kept his voice mostly to himself in their company.
Crystal felt farther than he remembered, and since he visited Hero there regularly, that was saying something. The healing injuries and silence must be to blame, he figured.
