The burgundy eye moved from his arm down to his side and crinkled slightly in what could only be called a smile at the tiny wisp. Dio was obviously unconcerned with Tek's explorations. He still remembered being that small, the curiosity and wonder that he had for those of his own kind. Without looking away he spoke to Rhys 'You mean that floating metal thing that you came in? It came from the sky? So you've been close to a star before? Did it talk to you? What did it look like?'

He paused and heaved a sigh to himself. It seemed that even though he was a bit older that he was still not able to control himself like he would like. Dio was aware of the annoyance that Hawk and sometimes Mystic would show at his incessant questions. He'd promised himself he would work on being more refined. 'Sorry, I'm just really excited. I think I would love to go high in the sky and see them up close. I don't think that books are going to give me the answers I need.'

Dio blinked and then his eye moved up to look Rhys in the face, he could barely contain himself at the idea, 'Could we go flying in that box too? Like you did when you came here?

Rhys couldn't help but feel that Tek was being more invasive then necessary but Dio didn't seem to mind so he left it. "Yep, as for talking to stars...I don't think I'd be as good at that as you would be." At Dio's excitement Rhys smiled giving the fiend time to settle before answering.

"Well we could see them up close...though with our current position..." frowning Rhys glanced to the sky. "I know Tek can't leave me...would we need to take Merci? I think Cinder would make us wait a while if we went and got them though."

Rhys mind was already considering the easiest way to get on the Warhammer without alerting his mother or Merci. After the past week he wasn't feeling very much up to being grounded, as he waited for Dio to answer he stretched his wing out giving Tek his hiding spot back if he wanted it, the wounded area along his left wing causing him to wince slightly at the movement.

Dio rolled his eye up and thought about it for a moment. Merci and Cinder hadn't been gone long, and to be honest he wasn't feeling particularly strained without her around. It was a strange feeling, because he was used to being with Merci all the time. Every moment she was awake pretty much with a few exceptions when he was star gazing. 'I can go without her!' His tone was a little defensive. He was growing up after all and he wasn't a child anymore to cling to Merci's skirt all the time.

After all how would he learn anything about himself if he was constantly reliant on her?

He folded his arms and canted his head to the side, 'You mean we can go? Just the two of us? Can you work the box?'

His eye moved over to the wing when he noticed his 'brother' wince and his eyebrow quirked upwards, but he didn't bring it up. If Rhys thought it would be a problem he would have said something about it before. He was concerned and before he really realized he was doing it, his concern touched Rhys through the empathy that all Fiends seemed to have.

Grinning slightly at Dio's response Rhys nodded, "alright, but if there's a problem let me know." Glancing to Tek and then the stairs Rhys made a quick checklist of what he'd need.

"Oh yeah I can fly the box, just don't let Cinder hear you calling her ship that." Rhys voice was filled with amusement as he spoke to the Fiend. "Shouldn't have any problem with it, Cinder has Mycroft downloaded to a portable unit in the house for now. The back up AI, Dos won't give us problems. Just bare bones in comparison to Mycroft..." Rhys let his thoughts trail off realizing that Dio likely wouldn't be overly interested in how he was going to do it.

Turning to grab up his bag and jacket the feeling of concern from Dio hit Rhys. Blinking quickly he paused attempting to focus on the feeling, after a moment he realized where it came from. Looking back over at Dio Rhys shifted a moment unsure how to vocalize a response. Clearing his throat and giving his mind a moment to unscramble over the touch of empathy he smiled slightly. Shifting his wing some he glanced over where the smart bandage was laid against it, "tower tried to fall on me...wasn't pretty. Wasn't good for really flying anyways..." shrugging slightly he turned his gaze back to Dio, "won't need them for flying the ship anyways." A grin broke out over his face as he spoke.

Dio furrowed his brows at the somewhat self depreciating comments. He floated a bit closer to Rhys and stayed silent for a moment before he decided that now was probably not a good time to scold his friend. Something about the way Rhys talked about himself bothered the Fiend, like he thought that he was a freak, or that his wings were both useless and unsightly. Both of which were completely untrue. After all he was the one without legs, floating around in the air, with a stone embedded in his chest, and stars twinkling under his skin.

Dio finally gave him a solid nod and unfolded his arms, keeping his left arm folded across his body as he moved. If Rhys was alright with it he should just let it go. 'Should I bring anything? I have star charts in my room. Do you think we'll actually get close to a star?'

He let his natural curiosity carry him away from the uncomfortable topic. Though for the first time in his life it wasn't all consuming. At the back of Dio's mind still nagged the fact that he should do something, or be more considerate.

Rhys took a moment to slide his wings into his jacket, taking extra time over the wounded one. "If you want to bring your star charts go ahead." Rhys smiled glancing over to Dio, "we have star charts on the ship's computer though that I can show you how to use, can also make print outs for when we're back."

"As for a star," Rhys moved toward the nearby window looking toward the sky, "we'll have to take a look at the ship's charts and see what the closest star is...though..." Rhys frowned looking over to Dio, "stars are very bright when you get close, your sun is likely the closest and - well for obvious reasons we might not want to get too close to one."

The fiend floated after Rhys, his tail swishing behind him happily. Dio reached up with his right hand and touched the piercing over his eye unconsciously, he wasn't quite used to it yet. 'If you have charts already then I won't bother.' The excitement in his voice was palpable as he followed the other boy. 'I know that science says that the sun is a star, just the closest one. I also know that the reflection of light on the other planets can make them seem like stars in the night sky. That's why you can see Venus and the others shining in the darkness. I'll know what I'm looking for when I hear it, I want to find the song.'

Dio paused and dropped his hand from playing with the new silver ring over his eye. 'It won't make sense to you. I've never met anyone it's made sense to. Not ever, and it's kind of lonely.'

The Fiend sighed. Honestly he probably should have kept his feelings to himself, but Rhys made him feel comfortable. After all he was his "brother" because Cinder and Merci were a happy couple or something. 'We should hurry though,' He started again, trying to distract from his last comment. 'I don't know when they were supposed to be home.'

Rhys glanced over toward Dio as he stepped outside, Tektite as if picking up on the antics of the night bobbed around Rhys' head excitedly. "Ok, so it's a specific star," Rhys glanced back again thoughtfully, "well I can understand - understanding things that others might not...and searching for something that might not even be attainable." Pausing a moment Rhys considered the fiend's statement a moment longer speaking softly, "and I can understand being lonely..." clearing his throat he continued on not wanting to dwell too long on things.

A bit of a grin came to his face taking quick steps toward where the Warhammer was stored, "I hope your up for this, because it isn't likely they are going to miss what we are about to do...and I can't imagine them being overly pleased." Rhys moved up toward the ship, having made better time then he realized, "but... this way we don't have to wait a month or so before Cinder decides we can use it."

Dio's eyes crinkled with laughter, and the sound echoed through Rhys mind. 'I'm not worried about getting in a little trouble. This is important and Merci will forgive me. Anyway what is she going to do? Spank me? I'm a Shadow!' Dio's voice was laced with amusement as he spoke. He emphasized his point by phasing his hand through the metal of the ship as they approached it. 'All she can really do is yell at me.'

He could handle a little yelling. It was the Festival of the Bright Star! What better time could there be to try and sort out the songs the stars sang to him in the night? 'I'll tell them I forced you if it makes things easier for you?' Dio offered offhandedly.

Rhys chuckled hearing Dio's laughter, "hm, well I'm not that worried - can't get into anymore trouble then I'm already suppose to be in." With a slight shrug Rhys finished typing in the authentication code to access the ship, laying his palm along the pad next to the door the door slide open.

"You forced me..." Glancing over Rhys raised a brow, "how did you do that? With a spanking?" His voice filled with humor at the last, "I'm not overly worried about it either, to be truthful."

"Lets make sure the ship is comfortable for everyone," glancing over to Tek and then Dio Rhys stepped inside the door speaking as he does, "Dos, bring down the overhead lights to ten percent and keep running lights at a minimum." The lights in the ship reacted almost instantly to the command, a flat neutral voice played over a nearby speaker, "lights adjusted."

Smirking slightly Rhys turned and motioned Dio in, the expression looked very much like Cinder something the boy was unaware of and likely would be unsure how to take if pointed out, "hopefully that'll help some, you'll need to come into the entry and I'll give Saki the command that your a guest and not to be harmed. She probably couldn't hurt you...but she might break something trying to pounce."

Stepping in, Rhys motioned to a spot for Dio to stand and reached to a nearby panel to call the land octopus.

Dio paused for a moment and he concentrated a bit, his body becoming solid. It came to him much more easily then it did before, and he gasped a bit when he settled on the ground. Legs, he had LEGS. His burgundy eye widened slightly at the change and he glanced up at Rhys. 'I have no idea what I just did....' He sounded confused and at the same time a bit excited. He could look more like his family now!

His tunic hung down over a pair of loose pants, the outfit was vaguely Asian in it's appearance. Dio tapped his left foot against the floor before his eye crinkled in a smile. The fiend reached over and touched Rhys arm, and curled his fingers around it and stepped into him for a hug. It had always been such a strain before, Dio always had to concentrate to say in contact with things when he was smaller.

Now he just held his friend and he let out a very genuine giggle.

Rhys started slightly looking over at Dio, pausing to stare at the change. A slight smile came to his face, "I didn't know you could do that ..." Rhys leaned over looking at Dio's legs and clothing, "so you made the clothing too?"

As Dio came closer and hugged him Rhys grew still, his wings twitching lightly at the affection. Although only slight contact he wasn't use to affection, standing a moment unsure Rhys after finally leaned into the hug. Tektite bobbed between the two as if attempting to get in on the hug as well. A thought coming to his mind after a moment, "er...what happens to the piercing on your tale when you get legs?"

Sound from the air duct overhead interrupted the two, "ah, Saki is here..." as if knowing she was being talked about a tentacle came from the overhead duct. Saki carefully came down from the duct, she was molten colored of greens. Looking very much like her aquatic namesake, Saki moved fluidly across the floor of the ship toward the two. A small mechanical device was strapped around her, two wires came from it connecting to her head as she moved within reaching distance the harsh sounds of Draconian Classic music could be heard coming from it.

"Saki, this is Dio - he's welcomed," leaning down Rhys met the creature's eyes and spoke soft commands in Draconian, after speaking Rhys moved back and Saki moved over to inspect Dio.

"Just don't move threateningly and ... you should be fine."

Dio blinked a little bit and looked down at himself. He was wearing pants, and they were comfortable too. The fiend was still entirely too fascinated with this new found appendages. Rhys question about his tail dangley had him furrowing his brows.

Dio didn't have time to really fixate on his peaked curiosity, as he witnessed something almost as strange as he was slide into view. His burgundy eye fixed on the creature and he cocked his head to the side. Somehow seeing Saki made him want to giggle a little bit, because he found himself assured that out there in the universe there were stranger looking things then him. The music was discordant and strange to him, but he could tolerate the grating noise.

Dio carefully extended his right hand, his left dangling next to him much like it did when he was a child. He murmured at her, 'Hello, I hope you don't mind how I communicate. I can't speak out loud.' His left hand moved up to where he should have a mouth and touched his face, 'I don't have a mouth or anything.'

The Fiend didn't seem particularly worried that he would get hurt by this oddity.

Saki moved with a strange fluidity around the two. Pausing the land octopus tilted her head keeping Dio in view with a large dark eye, shifting slightly she stayed still while he spoke as if listening and perhaps even understanding.

Tektite having already met the land octopus pretty much ignored Saki. Instead the wisp drifted down curiously to move near Dio's legs, lightly touching them with little bits of it's own shadow stuff.

"Saki, isn't able to speak..." Rhys spoke softly not wanting to interrupt the two.

Once Dio finished speaking Saki moved again circling the two completely before stopping in front of Rhys tilting her head giving him an expectant look.

Chuckling slightly Rhys reached over to a nearby panel, palming it open he reached in taking out a fish shaped biscuit about the size of his hand. "Alright, you did a good job - we are going to go for a bit of a trip so you might want to go back to your room." Rhys spoke as if Saki could understand him completely and finally tossed the biscuit toward her; snaking a tentacle up Saki caught the biscuit deftly and then just as quickly she retreated to a nearby duct and disappeared.

"And that was Saki...she's pretty interesting. Lets get to the bridge, best to get this thing off the ground before we get stopped." Grinning faintly Rhys moved toward a nearby doorway motioning Dio to follow as he started toward the bridge, pausing he took a look at Dio's legs another moment before actually moving. "There is a console to the right," gesturing to a console on the bridge Rhys moved to the pilot's seat, "you'll be able to bring the star charts up - just ask Dos for the local charts."

He was still till Tek moved a bit to the side, after all he didn't want to bump the wisp when he started walking. Dio loved to indulge the little wisps he encountered, after all they were just babies.

It was still amazingly strange that not only did he have legs, but he seemed to know how to use them with no issue at all. To his own surprise he was able to follow Rhys with no problems at all. One leg moved forward and then the other did, even his arms swung normally at his sides.

He paused when he entered the bridge, listening to Rhys when he spoke. Dio glanced at the control panels that his friend gestured too and he thought to himself. I hope this thing understands me, sometimes not being able to talk out loud is very annoying. He turned to the console and put his right hand on the edge of it, not entirely sure how he should tell it he wants the star maps. Cinder had a talking machine, Mycroft or something. Dio assumed that Dos worked the same way. 'Excuse me Dos? I need the local star charts and maps for this area please?'

I never hurt to be polite after all.

The fiend felt silly sending his thoughts toward a panel he wasn't sure could even understand him in the first place. Dio waited quietly for some sort of response.
