Water_Angel08 mugoi_usagi I am not entering. I am, however, sharing a silly haiku!
Boy I love waffles
Strawberries make them taste grand
Syrup is good too
I do inspire food cravings...Yes! In fact, I made it up while writing the post. I wrote one back in high school about my sensei and a plastic walking sushi we gave him. It was epic.

I don't remember and I don't have the sketch pad that it might be written in at my apartment. If I did write it down, it'd be in the one at my parent's house. Sorry! @roguevc: I think you misunderstood the pattern of a haiku. You have 5 words, 7 words, 5 words. The pattern is 5,7,5 but it's measured by syllables not words. Right now your syllable pattern is 13,8,6. It's a really great start though! Good luck! ^_^

Haiku are easy! You think of a topic and make a very short sentence. And you change words around until you have 5 syllables. Then you make a slightly longer one (which can be hard because you often have too many or too few) then go back to a concluding short sentence! Give it a shot! Start with your zodiac or something.
Personally I was a fan of Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout Would Not Take the Garbage Out. I had that memorized in 5th grade but have since forgotten most of it.

I think my thing is that I put too much weight on the words. There is actually a format (OT, here lol) that the Spanish use in their own form of poetry. I keep kicking myself because it was written in the back of my textbook in high school and I never coppied down the rules because I was too lazy--but it was really very beautiful biggrin I really liked it and I thought "Now this is something that I could be doing, here."
I feel like...
haiku is zen-ish. You have to look at the world through a certain kind of eye. Every time I think of haikus I always end up starting with a wooden wagon wheel. It's weird. It's like... o.O I can't stop thinking about that as an origin point. I need better inspiration xp

Maybe you need to write about that wheel before you can move on. That wheel is demanding to be heard! lol

llama llama duck is 5 syllables. Anyone up to the challenge of writing a haiku that ends in llama llama duck? Would probably make a good entry to the silly haiku contest! I will sell you that phrase for a song! ^_^
