He watches her as she explains what she wants done, and where she had been planning to plant and a small grin begins to pull at the edges of his mouth, but when she nods towards the path, he looks over, identifies it, and tells himself to remember to avoid that area.
When she sets to work, he does the same. He walks a few paces off to the other side of the soon-to-be garden and digs his own hoof in, mimicking the doe's movements.

Having scraped up the soil in her section, Jumping Frog crosses the path to work on that side. She's quiet while working, not to be rude, but to get it done faster. Talking is great, but they'll be time enough for that after the planting.
Seeing that the patches of soon to be planted earth are nearly finished, Jumping Frog stops long enough to indicate the shell of seeds and give further instruction. "When ever your ready, just grab some seeds and scatter them all over." no further explanation, as she'd already gone into detail. Just the soft scrape of their hooves as they dig.

He works just as silently, for even though he works quickly and efficiently, he does have to keep reminding himself to stop staring at the doe across the garden. His eyes keep straying up to her, watching her body move fluently, watching her legs move so precisely that it's lean muscles can be seen at work. The concentration on her face made her all the more beautiful to him.... but he had to keep working! They would have time to talk... and to admire her... that is, the garden, afterwards.
He brings his head up when she speaks, indicating the seeds and he has to glance around to realize that they were already close to finishing up. My, time could fly when one wasn't paying attention!
And so he dug in a little more vigorously to catch up with the last section he had been working on so that he would finish at about the same time, if not a little after Jumping Frog, so he could see how she went about scattering the seeds.

Finished digging, Jumping Frog walks over to the shell, dipping her head low to scoop some seeds into her mouth. Turning back to the garden, she spits the seeds out, doing her best to spread them around. Finishing with that mouth full, minus the few seeds she'd swallowed, Jumping Frog returns to the shell, taking another mouth full and repeating the process.

After finishing up, he lifts his head but gently keeps running a hoof over some ground, to make it look as if he was just about done, and not merely standing there gawking at the female. He watches the grace with which she moves as she dips her neck, and then proceeds to spray the seeds across her forming garden.
A few moments having passed, he gives his head a bit of a shake and walks over to pick up a mouthful of seeds himself. He wanders a little ways off and spits them out as evenly as he can manage, what with some of them simply refusing to unstick from the inside of his cheeks. A few more trips like this, with him and Jumping Frog working together, and it looks like they had finished planting! "That didn't take very long!" He smiles at the pretty doe, not quite sure if there is anything else left to do.

Hop smiles at him, happy for his help and company. "Things never take long with a friend to help." Surveying the ground to check that it's all covered, she sighs. "Nearly done, now just to water them." Walking to her den entrance, Hop grabs the two gourd halves stacked there. Going back, she sets them down. "These'll help us, there's a stream just over there." Stooping, she grabs one of the gourd bowls then starts off toward the stream.

He smiles at her mention of 'friend' and inwardly asks himself, Is that all?, but quickly quells that thought and tells himself that it's a good start, if nothing more than that. Friendship could always become something more later. For now, they had one more task to complete, so he waited for her to come out of her den and cocked his head at the gourds, until she picked one up and mentioned 'watering'. He hadn't even thought of that! So with a crooked smile on his face, he picked up the other gourd and followed her up to the stream.

At the stream Hop bends down, submerging the gourd fully under the water. When it's full, she lifts her head up and turns around nearly running into Movement-in-the-Grass. A quick step back is all that keeps her from dousing the buck, though the action does send a fair amount of water sloshing over the edges. Blushing, Hop turns back around to refill the gourd, this time paying attention to his location.
Full again, she takes the gourd back to the garden and starts to drizzle water over the seed beds. Mostly it slops out everywhere, this being a new skill to her, but Hop doesn't let this get to her. After all most of the water is going where it is needed, who cares how neatly it's done?

He stops close behind the doe, and finds himself staring, even when she nearly walks into him. All he can do to react is quickly shut his eyes, preparing for a full splash of water to the face, but instead only feel a few stray drops catch his muzzle. He opens one eye cautiously and grins in return of her blush. No harm done.
Once her gourd is full again, he dips his own in, filling it up to the brim, and then turns to follow her back to the garden. His own watering was not much more elegant or efficient than Jumping Frog's, but the job got done, didn't it?
He lays down his gourd, and sits back on his haunches, taking a good look around the garden. To Jumping Frog, he gently calls, "How's it lookin'?" And offers her a warm smile to go along with.

Stacking her gourd in the one he'd just put down, Hop sits beside him. "Good, so far" she says, returning his smile. "You should come back when they're grown so you can see how I picture it." She leans in to nuzzle his neck, adding "Of course, you can come by any time."

He smiles as she sits down next to him, and his eyes even flutter to a close as she nuzzles his neck. He just barely manages to keep himself from purring from the affection. He takes this opportunity to bask in the warmth of her breath on his fur, and lingers for a few moments before he opens his eyes and slowly rises to his feet, being careful to rub his side up against hers as he does so. Once standing, he looks down at her, and says politely, "I will definitely come by, my darling, it is only a matter of time! Couldn't keep me away if you tried." With a wink, he nuzzles her muzzle with his own, and then turns away to find his way back home. He figured he could still catch a quick dinner on the way there, and made a mental note to himself to figure out how much time should pass before he returns to the garden. He doesn't want to look desperate after all! On the other side, he doesn't want to be rude, either. He would definitely need to look into this with deeper thought... tomorrow.

"See you soon!" Hop calls to Movement-in-the-Grass as he leaves, hoping very much that it will be soon. She watches him until the swamp swallowed his last trace, then lay down to watch her garden.
