Poa was surprised by Van suddenly moving through the portal. But then again someone had to go first and she was little revealed it wasn't her. The portal seemed harmless enough, but Poa knew first hand what messing around in magic you didn't understand could net you. Or rather her father did and she was there to witness it. But then again, if it wasn't for his recklessness, she would have never come into existence.
Seeing that Van didn't come back screaming from the other side she guessed the coast was clear. Taking a deep breath she walked through the portal. The sensation was, within reason for this sort of thing. One on the other side Poa was struck dumbfounded by what she saw. Ony one word escaped her lips. "Whoa..."

Van at first flintches at the sudden change in light, as below it had been overcast, but even through squinted eyes he was amazed at the magnificence of the city before him. But, being a member of a race of telepaths he made few outward expressions. Instinctively Van extended his mental perceptions out as far as he could to sense the people that had crafted such a magnificent city. It was the sudden appearance of Poa's mind to Van's perceptions, that made him turn at her exclamation of wonderment. Forgetting to speak aloud, Van's thoughts reach directly to Poa's. "Amazing isn't it?"

"Well, I think I know where this is going...I just wish I could stay on the damn ground." Clen stepped into the portal completely, not wanting to get one of his limps separated through the portal, and came out, feeling no worse for the wear. He had experienced worse portals. When he saw the city, his eyes opened in amazement. Stepping to the side of the gate, he looked in awe. "No mortal race would ever have time to create that."

Walking through the portal Joust looks at the scenery and smiles. "It's impressive alright, though you should see the ice lairs of Valroon. Those would make you weep, if you weren't so afraid of staining their beauty with your tears." Joust stays close to the portal undoubtedly the anomaly would be following behind and she wasn't ready to leave it alone for a second.

"Yes, yes it is." Poa responded back, still too taken aback by the view before them to realize she was being spoken to telepathically. Suddenly she came back to her senses. "Wait what? Did you say something." She looked curiously at Van but then realized she had something to do. Fishing through her large handbag she produced the small orb that the doctor had given her. Holding it before her in the palm of one had she charged it with magical energy. It began to glow and vibrate. "Dr. Dreitzler, Dr. Dreitzler come in. This is Poa. We have successfully crossed over to the other side. No sign of your missing explorers or what happened to them. However I thought you might want to get a view of this yourself." Mitzka removed the her hand from the orb and it hovered there. After a moment it positioned itself to the left and slightly above her head as she had enchanted it to do so. She walks to the edge of the tower to give herslef as well as Dr. Dreitzler a better view.

4 Co. stepped through the portal his body covered in lipstick kiss marks and a gold chain and afro adorning his chrome body. A voice could momentarily be heard calling through the portal. "4 Co. I love you!" After a moment or two of 4 Co. standing there he said quite calmly to no one in particular. "Shut up baby, I know it!" He looked past everyone gathered and pulled a cat out of the afro. "I have emergency nourishment rations, enough for two."

"Damn technomages and their crazy creations..." Muttering to himself, Clendyx struck a path down to get closer to the city, saying to the others, "We're gaining nothing by standing around looking foolish. We need to figure out what happened to those men." He wan't a leader, but he hated to idle around...

Van momentarily reguards 4Co. with a raised eyebrow, but not knowing how to respond, he turns to Clendyx. "Poa is contacting our employer to update him of our status, I'm sure we will depart immediately afterwords."He says aloud this time

As Poa reveals the splendor of this realm to Dr. Dreitzler you could swear he just began to have a minor heart attack from the gasping sounds he was making on the other end. He begins to stammer over his words incoherently, and then finally seems to regain his composure after several minutes of excited babbling. "This-this is amazing! I've never, in all my years, seen anything like this...Wait. Did the metal man just pull a cat from his...afro? Never mind. I don't want to know."
Poa, with her magical training is used to being able to sense and see magic echantments. No doubt curious about this place, she does just that, and watches with a mixture of awe and fear, that the magic of this city shines like a veritable beacon. Not a single building is without enchantment of some kind; and many of the larger buildings look like hundred-some-odd foot infernos of swirling magical energy. In particular the largest of the buildings, on the opposite side of the city, is flowing with so much energy that it is hard to even look at directly. Unable to stand the glow for much longer, your vision returns to normal and you look out once again into the distance. The building you saw is no doubt this city's capital building. The giant pillars that support the overhang around the castle seem to be statues, each of them no less than fifty feet tall and of such amazing complexity and craftsmanship that you can scarcely believe that it was carved by human hands. Each statue is of these statues seem to be of a different person, with varying weapons and armor. The building itself is easily a mile to a mile and a half long, with four levels, and from this height you can only guess that it is roughly a mile wide. The tower you are on is just as impressive it seems. It can't be more than ten floors tall and is etched with many runic patterns. Just below the room, on the overhang of the ninth floor is a ring of demon statues. There are nine in total, and each is obviously different (some far more different than the others. And then again some you almost have to look for the differences.) As you stand on the edge of the tower, overlooking the city below you immediately, you get two, very distinct feelings: one, this place is, at the very least, older than most history books cover and containing a magic long since lost to the ages; and two, you are being...watched.

Van moves to the edge of the overhang and looks down, trying to visually pin down the source of this feeling. His eyes, dart from left to right, as they try to sweep as much of the area as possible. "Did any of you perceive something?" He asked

Blinking at the darkness Joust merely shakes her head. "I haven't seen anything comrade, just the darkness and the buildings. Those statues may be of some archaeological interest though..." Honesty's chosen body was rather ill suited for this terrain, and his would be too eerily similar to those demonic statues. His second favorite form would have to do. Changing shape again he replaced his eyes with those of an owls, though not exactly the same. His body became male and covered with a soft parchment like clothing that was covered in writing undecipherable to all but two of the people in the party. Sprouting from his back burst four wings raven black and with hooked spiked claws at the ends of them. His mouth finally forming into that of any common bird of prey. His arms clung to the lance as though it was a commonplace item, a child's toy. His eyes scanned the area for movement and his wings folded behind him and clung to his exposed back in a painful form of rest.

"Hmm, I don't see any people yet. I guess the next step it to get down form this tower and start exploring. I wonder if this place is...Whoa! Weren't you a woman just a second ago? How many forms do you have?" Poa exclaims as she turns around to see Joust now in the form of some bird of prey creature.
((Btw Vincent is there like a door up here or a stairway leading down?))

"Walk with your backs against the nearest wall or person, and don't make any quick movements. I don't like this place...it smells like an ambush to me." Drawing his sword and shield, he also called back, "I wouldn't suggest flying, either. If these are ancient people, than they know too well how to pick you off like you have a giant 'SHOOT ME!' sign painted across your chest. We're better off sticking together." At that, he backed up a little, slowly, to get nearer to the others. He was used to combat, and knew every advantage and disadvantage of the battlefield. Right now, they were at a disadvantage, for they had no idea what they were facing. But, then again, maybe whomever, or whatever, was watching didn't know what they could do, either.

((Yeah, I was getting to that when you all were done looking around razz )) ((Dice for something you don't know about...yet...)) As you all are wondering how to descend from this place, a portion of the rock face lifts up from the tower's rooftop, then a loud bang as whatever was on the other side blasts the rock portion from the roof. Out jumps three warriors, their bodies painted from head to toe in runic tattoos and their faces covered in masks made to look like birds. As they get nearer they draw their weapons and surround you all, obviously not looking for a peaceful solution. They raise their shields, each bearing a symbol of a rearing, green griffon, as they shout in some unknown language, pointing at your weapons and then at the ground. "Waa!" Poa exclaims as she falls back from the edge as the guardians jump in. She crawls back several steps before standing back up. "I, I think they want us to drop our weapons. We should probably do what they want...for now. We are after all guests in their city."
