I'm officially mad at the PS cus of how everybody loved it while the Dreamcast sat in the darkness....Dreamcast was way ahead of its time and PS was just SAD! So I think the PS3 is gonna suck and I'd rather get the 360.... biggrin

the graphics on the 360 are amazing and the idea of the system is fantastic. i've heard from a lots of people that it's overheating and i know some people that were having difficulty with the wireless modem and their home networks. they wanted it out before the ps3 so that's why they pushed production. sony is now removing parts of the ps3 so that when it realeases later in 2006 it doesn't cost upwards of $500+. one thing i've learned is to never purchase a first-gen console. wait a year...then make your purchase. it'll save you time, money, and frustrations.

Very true. The time waited gives Sony time to "debug" the systems possible flaws and also with time the value decreases too biggrin

Yeah, but microsoft is going to be pulling a real nutshot to sony. They're releasing Halo 3 the day that ps3 releases. That's just crule.

Gamer 1: "Hey, I'm gonna go grab a ps3, I finally got enough cash for it."
Gamer 2: "But... dude... Halo 3 just came out."
Gamer 1: "Hey, no. I've finally saved enough cash, I'm getting the ps3"
Gamer 2: "Hey, one's 500+ dollars... the other's like.. 65."
*Scilence*
Both: "So... Halo then?"
Gamer 1: "Yeah *sigh* halo it is."

thats a really good plan, especially with the 360, since it seems to be the general concensus that Microsoft should have waited and made sure the system was in decent working order to be released xp . Plus, if you're a halo fan, why bother getting the system when halo 3 hasn't even been released and bungie has yet to announce when it will be released? Just one perspective...

Sort of still waiting for PS3 to make some sort of comeback since most of the games that I would've pulled extra money out to buy it for are going to be released in 360 anyway. I'm actually quite happy with the 360. Sure there isn't an abundance in Japanese games for it (I could care less about DOA... button masher *coughonehandedgameforareasoncough*) but I was quite happy with Oblivion and Gears of War. Even Viva Pinata had it's perks. Still planning on getting the PS3 but probably not anytime soon... unless they give me a GREAT reason to. I heard Soul Calibur was gonna be on 360 so... where Namco goes.. I go. domokun

Until Microsoft fixes their crappy cooling systems in the 360, all 360s will die of the red ring of death. So until then don't get it cause it'll end up becoming a $400 paperweight. If you wanna risk it, warrenty's have been extended up to 6 months I think, and Microsoft will send you another one.

(This red plague is the reason why I have remained hateful of the 360. My ps2 works fine & i've had it since Kh1 came out)

I think if the 360 wound up getting a decent library of RPGs going for itself, it could be a success. That was the problem with the original Xbox: the library was too genre-specific. If you didn't like games about overly-muscular, ugly guys shooting things, with high-resolution graphics, muted colors, and blood and guts all over the place, there was nothing for you on the Xbox. NOTHING.

The console itself had immense potential, especially as far as game customization was concerned. Imagine a game like RPG maker released on a Microsoft console--with the focus on online gaming, you could actually release your own games onto Xbox live and share them with other people, and then play other people's games in return! It would be like having the Xbox library create itself, at little to no cost to the professional developers. Granted, they'd be acquiring no income unless they put a fee to publish user-created games online, but if it were to happen on the 360, I'd buy one.

The system's going in the right direction with Blue Dragon and Eternal Sonata (or whatever the Chopin game was called). As long as they keep developing non-hardcore titles, they might be going somewhere with the machine and could possibly dethrone Sony if they get enough of its "exclusive" IPs to switch over.
