 Ling's mood began to droop as Duo explained his situation, an expression of worry clouding his pale features.
"Why do you fight Duo? you should listen to yourself, you sound like a common yankee!" Ling explained, his thin, blunt claws stretching out through the bars to stroke Duo's dark hair.
"Me?" Ling began, his bushy white tail ceasing its calm swaying motion, settling it's self on the dirty floor in a melancholy manner.
"They didn't want me any more... I don't know what i did wrong! Master was ever so kind to me, I did everything he said! But... Master's parents didn't want me in the house anymore..." He explained, whimpering slightly as tears dwelled in the corners of his eyes. "I think they noticed I was chewing the curtains..." He finished, forcing a weak giggle.
"Duo... don't worry... one day you'll get a master who'll treasure you so..." Ling reassured his friend, giving him a bright smile as his ears and tail perked up, tears disappearing as his long, bushy tail began to wag contently.

Ling was in the process of platting thin strands of Duo's hair when the tall human suddenly appeared in front of the cage, causing Ling to quickly pull his hands back through the bars, and skuttle into the corner, cradling the now sore wrist.
"H-H-hello...." He stuttered, curling his tail around his waist as his ears pressed against his head in a nervous fashion.

 Andrew smiled in fascination "I couldn't help but hear you two talking to each other." His excited levels rose and his hands began to drum on the cage bars "You seemed so lively just a moment ago. Don't let me frighten you. I won't hurt you. I promise...If you trust me that is." His eyes flicked between the cages at the two. Without looking at the labels he attempted to guess what species they had been previously. His eager eyes landed on the wolf boy "May I ask your name? That is, if someone has given you a name." He frowned a bit at his own lack of knowledge of basic ideas around the Cursed trade. As he frowned and looked over them again, he noticed both of them were cradling and handling themselves carefully as if injured. Before either could answer his questions he started ranting "How could anyone allow these poor things to hurt themselves while here... or to be hurt by any other means. My what a absolutely horrid place." He snorted in disgust in the direction that the Keeper had walked off in.

Duo sighed softly his tail stilling for a moment as he thought. "It's because I don't know what else to do Ling. Giving in just doesn't seem like an opption and the long a fight the more of a chance that I won't get an abusive owner. They don't want pray that fights, and others would take pitty. I just don't care anymore, and I'm testing them to see if they care or not." He looked around, "and most of them don't really care." He sighed sofrly as his ears twitched to the sound of the bell above the door ringing he glanced up for only a moment, but other wise continued talking to his dear friend.
"Hmmm....probably. Most people get tired of our kind once we cost them to much. In my case is they were evil i'd do all I could to rack up as much as I could so they would get rid of me. If they were nice on the other hand.....well I wouldn't know exactly what to do at all. It would probably scare me....you know....I've never felt the warmth of love or kindess in my life....so in short terms I would be afraid and become submissive. True to my nature in the end." He sighed and then flinched when the boy who had just come in stood out side their cages. He moved back against the bars, and his tail curled up defensively around him. But other wise he stayed eerily quiet.

Ling eyed the man carefully, taking a glance at Duo before cautiously crawling out of the corner on his hands and knee's, still keeping a safe distance from the cage walls as he folded his legs around the side of his body.
"Ling...Ling Quo" He replied to the other, "It means Delicate Snow In Chinese..."
There was a moment of silence before the other spoke again, this time He seemed to be rambling on their living accommodations.
"It's better than nothing, I would rather be here than out in the cold streets, especially in winter. I don't think any of us Like the idea of snow right now" He replied, still eying the other cautiously in case he did something suddenly. He had soft eyes, the same wispy white hair as Ling yet he didn't dress as grand as the others that came to buy them.
"That over there is Duo... He's not too comfortable around humans, please do forgive him..." Ling explained, bowing his head lightly in the man's direction.
"May I ask your name sir?" Ling requested of the other, giving him a soft smile.
[ Pffft.. Ling means Delicate but Quo isn't even a bloody word. Not that i know of anyway XD I just made it up ]

Andrew smiled at Ling "Ah, Ling. That's a very nice name especially for... a wolf? Wolf pup I'm assuming? Very young..." He bit his lip and thought a bit about his condo he was renting out, and how much space he had "And Duo. A more interesting name." he studied the boy a bit "Cat?" He looked up to check his answer and grunted in displeasure "Damn. I was wrong. Black panther. Would explain your behavior right now, if you do excuse the way I put it." He stood up and paced in front of the cages, once again thinking of his space situation before stopping and realizing he had rudely ignored Lings question. He turned back and knelt down once again, "My name is Andrew Antony. I'm a scientist... not the kind that does experiments on your type. No need to worry about that from me.

Duo followed Ling's lead, but otherwise stay out of an arms lengths distance. His silver eyes watched the man and without thinking placed weight on his own injured hand. He hissed and flinched back, but otherwise tried not to show how much pain he was in. He craddled his arm again and leaned against the cage. He wasn't to sure about this one, but if Ling was polite to him then it ment something was good about him. His tail swayed slightly and now that he was a little bit more out of the shadows the light was shown more brighter on his taned skin. Even though he had been in this dark building for a while it still did nothing to his naturally tanned skin.
He stayed silent and watched as the owner came back and cleaned out some of the empty cages to fill them with new comers. He new they took would suffer and that ment trouble all around. He sighed and was glad he was injured enough so that they wouldn't beat him again and he wouldn't fight for the time being. He listened to ling give the boy both their names and he sighed softly. "I could have told him mine....he did ask both of us you know....." he sighed, but other wise tried not to look at the boy. It was obvious the only time he looked people in the eyes was when he was fighting them. His muscles were tense as he tried to get comfortable. Being around someone nice was deffinately something he wasn't used too.
He looked at the man and shruged, "We're distant relatives so it's no wonder for the mistake.......so don't worry about it." His cheeks tinted a light shade of pink, becuase he had accidently looked up at the boy. Noticing the boys careful caring expression and the wonder that showed in those eyes.

Andrew smiled and let his finger drum on the metal bars again "Thank you for forgiving me Duo. Now I have a serious question to ask. How would you like an actual bed to sleep in, quality food of your own choice, clothes, nurturing...? I would be glad to give you anything your hearts desire." He grinned between the two and put his hands into the cage, offering them to the two boys "I don't like yelling, so you won't have to worry about that." His stomach was churning and tumbling as he realized he was offering to take home two precious beings of his interest. He continuously examined personality traits, first impressions, the way they spoke, calculating it all in his head forming the outward appearance of both creatures. His fingers trembled in the excitement coursing through his veins.

Duo fidgeted slightly taking in what the boy was offering, his mind had completely stopped at the questions he was asking and the picture he made in his own head. Duo didn't know what to think, but he was deffinately hesitant about the whole thing. He didn't know how to trust humans. His first impression of their species had been tainted by the gang that had nursed him to health after his own clan had attacked him. In the end it was all a ploy. He had been healed only to be used like some to....like some rag doll for their own delights.
duo drew in on himself as those thoughts. He curled into a tight ball and his body seemed to tremble. He for one didn't want to be tricked by kindness again and then used in the end. Those memories had always haunted him. They were his nightmares he couldn't seem to shake. Every night he woke in a cold sweat his bodly trembling and his eyes wet with tears. He had often wondered if they would ever go away, if they would ever stop haunting him in his dreams. Though they may be a part of his fear in the end they made him a little bit stronger with more dtermination in his heart to fight the owner and his goons in this shop.
He shivered slightly,"S-sorry.......I....I just don't know what to say to that..."

Ling's eyes widened at Andrew's offer, though once glance at the Stunned Duo triggered his doubts. Sure, he'd left the other alone before, but this would be the best chance of a normal Life that Duo could get, There was something about the Human that interested Ling, He seemed kinder than the rest - Responsible too.
The Soft, gray eyes fell upon Duo, and gave him a reassuring smile. Ling had a feeling that if he accepted, then The other would too. It would be interesting to not be the only pet in the house, and with Duo around, It would be funner.
The pale boy crept forward, ears perking up and bushy tail wagging contently as he reached out for Andrew's hand, taking cautious glances between the Human and Duo, before taking The man's hand, turning it over and admiring the soft peachy skin tone, before picking up his scent, his nose cringing slightly before he looked up at the other, turning bright red at his animal like actions, dropping Andrew's hand instantly.
"I- Uh... Th-That is... Um... I S-Suppose I could... If that's... That's W-what you want..." He stuttered modestly, glancing away with embarrassment.
[ ....I just spent 10 minuets or so trying to escape from my own bedroom just to go on the computer.... I left the charger in there and my mother is sleeping :L LAME ]

Andrew's eyes turned sad at the sight of Duo Shying away from his kindness, but he was delighted that Ling accepted. His dropped hand tenderly reached and stroked the wolf's head with genuine relief. Andrew smiled sadly at Ling and glanced at Duo once again "I know it is a very sudden decision. I would really prefer that you would come on your own will and not forced." he steadied his hand again and put the full length of his arm into the cage, reaching for but not touching Duo "I don't know what happened to you, but i really hope I can make it better if you accept."

Duo flinched, but otherwise didn't move away from his hand. He looked at it his silver eyes narrowing slightly before hesitantly moving forward to sniff the hand like he would if he were still a panther. His ears twitched on top of his head and his tail swished back and forth slowly. He reached out hesitantly and slowly, his fingers reaching out tentatively and he placed his hand in his. He glanced over at Ling and at his encouraging smile. He trusted Ling and Ling normally had good judgement on people. That's why the boy always got a home after staying here for only a short period of time. He looked over the kind smooth hand. He could tell the hand had never been raise to anyone, but it would be strong when protecting people from harm no matter what or who they were.
Duo sighed softly his soft ears flattening aginst his head as he calmed himself down. 'What could it hurt? Not everyone is like those people....I should just stop being a coward and say yes....' Duo let the hand go and finally looked up to meet the others eyes. "O-ok....." he blushed slightly, "I'll go." He glanced back over at ling, and anyone who knew him well would notice even though he had said yes he was nervous and very much scared. Most of his life he had fought and shied way from any and all kinds of attention. Duo was shivering and it could be seen, he wanted to leave this place, but he was also scared of leaving to go in the home of another who might be just tricking him. Even though every thing about the boy screamed harmless and kind, his own mind just didn't seem to want to accept it.
Duo heard the owner coming over and he quickly fled to the back of his cage and curled up on himself. His silver eyes glaring at the man now standing next to the kind boy named Andrew. He growled and a small hiss escaped his lips and the man thumped the cage and Duo went silent as he ducked his head. His tail curled up around him a failed attempt to protect himself.

Andrew glared up at the man that had just interrupted his encounter "Excuse me, I would ask you not to bang on his cage. I don't want him so terrified he won't come out for me." he snapped at the man "Now if you would be so kind to just take your money, and let me take these two home I would be much appreciative." He reached into his pocket and pulled out the money he'd been storing. He counted the correct amount for both Ling and Duo and shoved the money into the mans palm "I am reluctant to say I might ever come back because the way you treat your merchandise is pitiful." he spat at the man, turning to open the cages for himself. He opened both of them and stood back, opening his hands once again as a signal for them to take them and not let go "come on boys. It's time to go home." He smiled at them, Triumph Shining on his face.

Ling lit up as Duo accepted Andrew's offer, giving a bright smile. He could tell the other was nervous, but he was sure about this Human, he knew he would treat them well.
Though Ling's smile soon disappeared as Duo began to growl, and as Ling followed his glare, he came almost face to face with The Owner.
Pale gray eyes widened and Ling jumped back and brought himself back into the dark corner, ears flat against his head as he began to growl, the same high pitched puppy-like growl that he had given the birds.

Ling stared at Andrew in awe as he stood up to the Owner, That was rather admirable!
As the door was open, Ling gathered one or two dog biscuits lying on the floor, and the tatty old blanket lying in the corner, white and covered in black paw prints.
The Pale boy then shuffled forward nervously, trying to keep out of the Owners glaring view as he took Andrews hand, staying close to the other as he began to chew on one of the treats, holding the blanket to his chest.

Andrew's fingers curled around the small hand in his, holding firmly onto him, laughing slightly at his behaviors, unable to control himself. He bit his lip and smiled down at the boy. He looked over Lings face, taking in a few features he had not noticed before. He was a bit dirty, probably from not being bathed in a while, but he was pale in not just his hair but his skin color as well. Andrew watched as the little one chewed on some treats and reminded himself to pick some up before they went home. His attention turned back to his outstretched arm towards Duo.
