"Pfft!" Raiden nearly rolled his eyes at Khali. He wasn't worried about her fighting skills! More like her taur trusting skills. The teen frowned, really why couldn't his sister be less trusting of strangers? Like a child who would take candy from anyone.

"What?" Raiden's hands curled back into shaking fists. "You moved your stuff?!" His hooves stomped down, "Were you planning on just flying out of town without a word to our parents?!"

He turned to the male with a glare. "Oh really?" He pointed to Khalidah with a shaking finger, "If she won't listen to her own family what would make her listen to you?!" He frowned.

Raiden was really taking offense now. Though he realized that the male didn't mean to put down their survival skills the pride of the teen refused to take a blow. "And though I agree with the going home part, if we wanted to we could take care of ourselves anyways." He muttered crossing his arms. Or at least he could take care of them. No stranger would judge them!

The centaur swallowed. Counting in his head seemed to calm him down some and Raiden sighed. "I apologize for the scene. But really I don't know if you two understand the situation..." He looked over at Khalidah.

Khalidah squeezed the blanket to her chest with a pout. "I'm almost an adult myself and as such I'm fully to take care of myself." Really, today just kept going from bad to worse. "Oh, shut up Raiden. If you knew where I was going why couldn't you just go tell them for me? After all, isn't that your job, Mr. Snitch?"

If her brother snubbed her out of anymore brownie points with her parents she would be run out instead. "I've had it up to here with you today." She held her hand out, ears flattened back. "As far as I'm concerned you can keep your damn blanket because I'm so angry at you right now I don't need it to keep warm!" The teenager hurled it at him and with a big, irritated growl she stomped off.

Tzeitel perked her ears, listening to the teen boy’s tone. He seemed particularly offended by Aaron for some reason… but then he calmed and she nodded. “No, we don’t understand, which is why we want to help.” Right then, Khalidah started yelling and stomped off. “Oh dear~” Tzeitel breathed, and without thinking trotted silently after the firey girl, her big sister instinct kicking in.

Aaron took a step back and gave Raiden a small bow, hoping to take back however forward he may seem to the younger male, his voice softening. “Sometimes an impartial ear can provide a clearer insight to a dilemma. Apparently, you are not used to others trying to aid you?” He caught himself watching curiously at the interactions between these siblings. Having none of his own, and having heard Tzeitel’s stories, these two made little sense to him. It was intriguing, to say the least.
He saw his friend go after Khali, and looked at Raiden. “If I may, you should let Tzeitel have a few words with your sister.” His hands lay relaxed at his side. “She won’t try to order or be condescending. She’ll just give her an extra ear to talk to.”

Mr.Snitch?! As if! Raiden scowled, like he ratted out his sister? Never. Unless of course he was fearful of her safety. Jeez, why couldn't he have a normal sister not one who wanted to go 'adventuring' all about the isles? "Khali, you know I'm no snitch." He replied softly. The centaur was really stung by that. Sure they may argue and sure he may have foiled her plans multiple times - that didn't mean that he broke that sibling trust. Secrets were secrets after all.

The blanket hit him directly in the chest. Raiden let out a soft 'oof' of surprise before clutching the blanket with a shaking hand. What!? He was the one who about had it! That stupid, oh so stupid, sister of his! "Fine!" He called after her though hurt shone obviously in the gaze of the aggravated teen.

"We never need aid from others." He replied bitterly, "Our family is full of strong individuals who take things upon themselves." It was a bitter truth. Maybe pride was the reason that they always kept quiet if there was ever a trouble? But maybe not - he knew that they accepted help sometimes. But only from close family and friends. Raiden sighed. Personally, it was his stubborn pride and urge to prove himself that kept him from asking for help. Especially a stranger's help.

"Pfft." Raiden only shook his head, "She can go for it for all I care." His ears flattened against his head in defeat. It was a bitter feeling, knowing that his sister would never really listen to his logic. All because of that stupid drive for adventure.

Khalidah's hooves beat out a pattern on the stones. "It's just like him, you know? To be that idiotic. He doesn't even think about my needs. Oh no, he's perfectly fine with his head shoved up our parents asses. It's a wonder he ever sees the sunshine!" The more she talked, the wilder her hand movements became and the shriller her voice got. A few feet away from the inn she turned back on her hoof, startled to see Tzeitel behind her. She flipped her ears back. " I did it again, didn't I?"
PostPosted: Sun Jan 31, 2010 2:16 pm

Tzeitel clenched her hands tighter as Khalidah's voice got shriller. It was hard listening to the ruckus she was making. She had to remind herself that these teens obviously had a different background.
When Khali turned, Tzeitel instantly let her arms relax again. She held up her hand, her thumb and forefinger an inch apart. "A bit." She said gently, allowing herself to take a few steps closer before pausing. Different. Hugging would probably get her nowhere. "If I may, what is it you want so much that worries your brother so?"

Aaron pursed his lips for a moment. Why couldn't his parents have had more children than just him? He might have an idea of what to say to this young man then. Instead, all he could do was shake his head, glancing at his tattoos in memory. "Teens can be dang resilient. I was one myself, not so long ago. And you don't look like you're far from adulthood."
He wasn't sure what else to say. The boy didn't seem very talkative, but he couldn't leave Tzeitel, nor walk in on whatever girl talk she was having. What was she going to get him into?

Raiden's gaze slipped away from the two females and back to Aaron. It was a flat gaze, but nothing like the anger from before flashed there - for now. "We'll be adults soon." It wasn't too far away. Khali could've at least waited til then. Raiden sighed. Here he was thinking about it again.

He should leave. Yet he didn't. Instead Raiden focused on Aaron and crossed his arms. The teen found himself looking over the centaur. Definitely no one he had ever met before so why? The question left him before he could stop it, "Both of you are complete strangers to us. Why care about our business?"

Khalidah ran a hand a shaky hand through her hair and turned, motioning for Tzeitel to follow her into the inn. She waved to the keeper, trotting up the low ramp to the upper level to her room. "My brother worries." The teen started, unsure of how to word it. When she opened the door, she looked over the mess her hurried transfer had made. "I want to see the world. Go places, be a knight! I can save so many people from tyranny if I could just get the hell out of here." She kicked her trunk, wincing at the pain. "Is that so wrong?"

Tzeitel nodded, following silently. She was surprised when she was led to the girl's hidey-hole. So, she really was trusting of others. Very trusting. Was that safe? Maybe the younger could tell that the elder meant only to help...
"Families react differently to their members wishes. When one person wants to do something different than the others are used to, the family is going to naturally get defensive." She walked over to the small window and looked out. "Is it safe to assume your family wishes you to follow a certain path of their choosing?"

Aaron cocked his head, then nodded. A fair question. "I suppose it's just our nature. Myself, I can't explain so much, but Tzeitel," He looked up where the female had vanished in the crowd. Where was she? "she had a large family, the eldest of her siblings. She's conditioned to help those with troubles." He chuckled. "Admittedly, she can get a bit nosey, but she has nothing but good intentions. She naturally and honestly likes to help others, whether or not she knows them."
He brushed his hair with his fingers, looking over at the young male, just on the edge of adulthood. "Your business really isn't anything of ours, but lending a hand to others isn't such a bad thing to do. If someone seems in distress of any sort, why shouldn't you offer to assist?"

Odd nature. Raiden's eyes softened just a little about hearing about Tzeitel's large family. Ah, one of those family centaurs that always had some form of concern for others. Just their luck to run into such a couple during an argument.

"I get it." Raiden nodded and his face relaxed. "A good soul. Though nosey I do have to agree with." He added with faint humor before looking down the street. "Maybe they don't want help though." The teen added with a shrug before taking a step after his sister. "So I guess we better find them then."

He wasn't going to openly ask for help after all - still it was kinda obvious in the way he looked back at Aaron before continuing down the street.

Khalidah nodded, reluctantly agreeing as she shoved random objects into a pair of worn saddlebags. "They want me to be a blacksmith." She stood up, cocking her head to the side as she rolled up Raiden's blanket, strapping it to the top of one bag. "I can't stand it. If I stand in one spot for too long I get restless and mother gets angry."

Looking up, she saw Tzeitel looking out the window and a thought struck her. Suddenly she was very excited, digging around for her coin purse. "I just had an idea! A wonderfully genius idea. Why don't you come with me? You can be my squire and then I won't be on my own. I can pay you anything you want."
PostPosted: Sat Feb 06, 2010 6:52 pm

Tzeitel nodded slowly, thinking. "It's hard telling family you want to be different. I have many siblings, so I know. when one wanted to be different, we all knew it." Stands a moment, thinking fondly of her family when Khalidah came at her from no where.
"What?!" A hand fluttering to her chest, she turns at her waist to look at the excited teen. "Me? But- I- You- We- ......." She sighed, glancing out the window again. She dreamed of settling down with a sweet male, raising her own children, bringing her family to town from their impoverish homestead. How would traveling get her any closer to that goal? She had barely any money as it was...
"I suppose there's no way to talk you out of leaving..." She smiled, thinking of one of her sisters, who had also yearned for adventure. "Well." She stood straight, turning and nodding slightly. "I'll come, but on a couple conditions. First, I do object to you calling me a 'squire'. Companion will do fine. Second, I can't accept your money. You'll need it for the trip ahead. And third..." She looked down, then back up. "Please tell your brother what you're planning. Whether or not it settles his mind, at least he'll know what's going on, and after time, you'll feel better about having let him know."

Aaron simply shrugged. "Sometimes, even those who don't want help will accept a small bit of aid. If they don't want the help, if they really don't, then we leave them alone. It's their own choice." He looked off where the teen was headed and nodded in agreement, following after Raiden. "Good idea. Who knows what those girls will plan next. They're an odd gender, to say the least."

That actually brought a smile. "Odd gender indeed." Raiden chuckled before stopping in the street and craning his head, searching. In a second he was over at a corner shop, "Excuse me, miss." Raiden nodded politely to an elderly centauress, "Did you happen to spot two girls going this way?"

"Why, yes. Up to dat inn on da corner." The elder frowned thoughtfully, "Or I believe so anyway. One was obviously like da blacksmith man..."

Raiden grinned. "Thanks." With that he trotted back to Aaron, "We're getting close." The teen was already moving again and only paused when they reached the front door of the inn.

Ah ha! She was stunned speechless by the offer, which was a good sign, no doubt. The teenager beamed with pride while giving her coin purse a good shake. "Not a chance in hell," she grinned, though it faded quietly enough as she listened to the terms of the agreement. "The first two are fine enough, but you really can't expect me to tell him. He'll never listen!" Raiden was as pig headed as he was stupid. She knew in the back of her mind that he would either start yelling at her again or run off to snitch on her. Furrowing her face up in a frown, the teen exhaled on a sigh. "Fine. If you go with me, I'll tell him. Get your things; we leave immediately!"

With a grand sweep, Khalidah had her saddlebags strapped on and was waltzing out the door, the better part of her brother's things still strewn about the room. She pranced down the modified stairs and swung open the door, momentarily stunned to see not ony him, but Aaron as well.

Tzeitel nodded. "Like said, you'll feel better about it later if you tell him. He doesn't need to know details." 'Though, I doubt you know the details yourself.' She thought to Khali, shaking her head as the excited teen flew out the door. She chuckled, giving the window one more glance, spotting a familiar taur right beforeturning from the glass. "Uh-oh." How was she going to explain this to Aaron?! She spun and scurried after the girl. She couldn't face the two of them alone! Aaron wouldn't yell or anything. At least, not until the kids were away...

Aaron nodded, following along with the teen, giving a nod to the elderly woman in thanks. When they reached the inn, he looked up. Was that a flash of blond in the window? "Have you been here before?" He asked Raiden before the door opened, greeting them with Khalidah's stunned face.
"There you are!" He said with a grin, hoping to ease her shock. But then he saw Tzeitel come down the stairs. When their eyes met, his face dropped. She had that look on her face that said 'I did something you probably won't like, but you won't change my mind.' He looked between the two girls, arms crossing slightly as Tzeitel stepped closer, her face becoming clearer to him. "What?" He asked.
