Now he did it! She was going to tell on him! His face went pale as she said it and darted off. "Come back here Akila!" he said chasing after her. He couldn't let her tell on him! He knew how much trouble he would be in. He ran as fast as he could to try and catch her but she was far too fast for him. He wasn't as short as his brother, but he was still shorter then Akila even if it was only by a little bit. The two of them ran through the palace, both almost running into random people. Atem especially, for some reason he had terrible balance. When he was younger, Atem used to practically fall all the time to the point were the elders thought something was wrong with him. However, time seem to heal this and he wasn't as clumsy as he used to be. He managed to trip over his own feet a couple of times, but he caught himself and continued running. Akila was headed right to the throne room where his father would be.

[[Is Atem and Atsu's mother alive? And is Akila and Seth's mom alive as well?]]

"Hey what!?" Jono exclaimed when Atsu said he would have to be it. He was about to argue with that but they both ran off.

Amme then felt her wrist grabbed and herself being dragged. Her eyes were watering from the prior argument but she wasn't fully crying. She ran along with Atsu, hearing before that Jono was it since he came up with the idea. "Where are we going to go?" Amme said running with Atsu trying to keep up with him. She was a little taller then him but she had poor coordination, so she usually purposely ran slower so she wouldn't trip over herself.

Jono smiled excitedly and shouted, "I'm going to get you two!!!" he said darting off after the two. Jono was defiantly a lot faster then the two of them. He was starting to catch up to the two. The more he ran the more he started to feel a little better. Atsu always made him happy, he was just about the only friend he had. Atem was his friend too, but he was always studying.

Amme looked back to see how close Jono was to them. She winced a little and said out loud, "He's going to get us."

[[Oh yea that makes sense XP hee hee. I think one parent should be alive for Jono but maybe on;t his mom? I dunno, which one do you think? Mom or dad?]]

"No no no no!" Atem mumbled to himself as Akila reached the throne room. Akila was already falsely crying to his father by the time he got there. He clenched his fists as she told on him. "She hit me with a ball really hard! Right on my back!" he exclaimed telling on her. Deep down he knew they wouldn't punish her, but he had to defend himself. He took the scolding from his father, it was obvious he was frightened of him and the punishment he could give him. "But father!" he said. He didn't want to go to his room, and he especially didn't want to go without food. He looked over to see Akila, she managed to stick her tongue out at him with out anyone else looking. Atem's face was totally flustered. He held back both the impulse of shouting and crying.

Amme looked at his face when he looked back. She smiled a little, but this time much more genuine. She was pretty sure that Atsu wasn't going to pick on her or anything. And that they could possibly be friends. Which of course made her happy. She let out a small chuckle when he said he didn't know where they were going to go. They ended up in the garden area, which completely caught Amme's attention. She's never seen so much green in her life! It was really pretty! When Atsu looked back so did Amme, since she heard something as well. Jono had tripped. She couldn't help but wonder if he was ok, even though he had been nothing but mean to her. Atsu let go of her hand and jumped onto the first stone in the pond. She looked a little scared, she certainly didn't want to fall. She took one last look at Jono, debating whether or not to see if he was ok. She decided to go along with Atsu, Jono would be fine right? She held out her hands so she could hold onto Atsu again. She stepped onto the first stone and despite being as careful as she could be, her foot slipped. Thankfully, all of her weight was still on the other foot so she did not fall or anything. She managed to get onto the first rock with Atsu's help. She clung onto his hands for dear life, she was very afraid of falling.

Jono was getting so close to tagging one of them! He didn't kow what happened, but his foot caught onto something and he fell straight on his face. He got up quickly and rubbed his face. Jono growled a little. He didn't realize that Seth was the reason for his fall, instead he was mad at himself for doing something so stupid. He heard too girls near by giggling at him, he looked at them and growled out loud toward them- it frightened them and they ran off away from him. He got back up and dusted himself off. He saw that Atsu and Amme were going across the pond. It was taking them a while. He smirked thinking of something clever, he would run around the pond and cut them off. He chuckled to himself as he did just that. He was sure he could beat them to the end.

[[idk what to do with Seth or Jono either O.o The only thing I can think of is Seth making Jono do something and of course, Jono doesn't want to. Maybe Seth gets so mad he actually does tell his father and gets Jono's mother in trouble? Akila can join Seth and Jono as well, I don't know how she would react to the situation though. If they do get along, maybe that angers Seth? But I'm not too sure about that either.

Should I make Atem sneek out of his room? Thinking about it, he could meet up with Atsu and Amme since they don't know that he's being punished ^ ^

Yea I was thinking of having someone bring him food. I think Akila would be a good choice. Should we have a dinner scene or something? Something small?

At one point or another, I'm going to have some kids stone Amme. But I don't know when. ]]

"You're the one that's mean!" he pointed back at her. He was cut off short though by his father. He couldn't fight with him, he had to listen to him. He glared at her as she passed him. Once she was gone Atem spun around on his heels and left the throne room. He headed toward his room, wiping a few tears that escaped his eyes. Stupid Akila, why did she have to get him in trouble? She started the whole fight! It wasn't his fault she didn't respect him, things would be a whole lot better if she just respected him like everyone else did. Even grownups gave him the proper attention and regard that he deserved. Everyone did as he said at the blink of an eye. He had power over everyone- with exceptions to his father and the console. But not Akila, and that angered him. He headed directly to his room, knowing that his father sent guards to make sure Atem did what he was told.

Jono managed to make it in front of them. He jumped out growled playfully. "I gotcha now!" he said excitedly. He then watched the two collide into each other and fall into the pond. He laughed along with Atsu, it was funny to him. "Me too me too!" Jono said as he jumped in next to Atsu to create another splash as he chuckled.

Amme jumped a little when she saw Jono in front of them. Atsu went to turn around but Amme was too slow to react. They bumped into each other and she lost her balance along with him. It was shallow, but it was enough to drench the girl completely. She would have laughed along with Atsu, except she felt a sharp pain on her hand. Her face cringed from pain as she lifted her hand up. When she fell her hand hit a pointed rock, causing a mild, but still painful, cut. She lifted her hand out of the water to reveal the cut and a slight bit of blood. It wasn't bad, but Amme had a rather low threshold for pain. So of course, she buried her head in her bent knees and started to cry.

Jono looked over when he heard the girl start to cry. He may not like her, but part of him hated to see a girl cry. It upset him for some reason. "Hey uh... what's wrong?" he asked unsure how to really deal with her though.

[[should we have them go to dinner soon? Not immediately but soon.

Yea that sounds good. When Amme gets older she is going to be really mature, kind of calm and quiet. So whenever he's over protective she tries to convince him she's fine and to do what he's supposed to (she doesn't want him in trouble).]]

Atem walked into his room. Before shutting the door he peeked behind him to see that the guards were going to stand in front of his room. He shut the door quickly and loudly in a pout. He was already hungry for dinner, how would he go for the rest of the night without anything? How could his father do that to his own son, the future Pharaoh? Such a harsh punishment for something so minor. To him it was minor, even though he knew it was forbidden to harm Akila, let alone touch her. They told him why, but it truly never sunk in. How would grabbing her arm possibly risk her baring children? It just didn't make sense. He stood still looking around his room. What was he supposed to be doing? It was so rare that he got in trouble, and almost all the time that he was in trouble it was because of Akila. Akila was a such a spoiled rotten brat! Not to mention mean! And he had to spend the rest of his life with her? Sure, he could have other wives, but she would still always be one. She'll probably chase off his other wives knowing her! Atem walked over to his bed and plopped down on it.

Amme looked up at Atsu but shook her head. "I can't heal myself," she said through her tears.

Jono sighed. He's dealt with lots of cuts and bruises in his life. He walked over to her Amme and took her wrist. He submerged her hand underneath the water and had her press it against her dress to stop the bleeding. "Keep it there," he said and simply walked away from them. Stupid girls, all they ever do is cry. He walked out of the pond and rung out his clothes. Just as he happened to look up, he saw Akila scare the soul out of Seth. He's never seen Seth so scared in his life! So it was only natural that he point and laugh at Seth. It was funny. Big tough royalty practically jumping out of their skin cause a girl scared them! "Hahaha! Seth is a big scaredy cat!" he taunted further.

Amme did as Jono told her, awfully frightened when he took her wrist as he did. But he didn't hurt her, so she shouldn't be scared right? She looked back at Atsu, finally calming down from crying. "I'm sorry," she said feeling she ruined the game.

[[I was thinking, since Jono gave Seth such a hard time today maybe he gives Jono's mother a hard time during dinner? If so, I guess Jono should be there cause he has to serve them too? That way he can see the way Seth is treating his mom?

Haha oh btw, in another story I made Amme a vegetarian. I think I'm going to carry that over to this as well. Just for slight hahas. XP]]

Amme blinked as she wiped the rest of her tears away. "Y-You're going to protect me?" she questioned. Not because she doubted his intentions, but because she wanted to make sure she heard correctly. She smiled a little, the only people that ever were there to protect her was her parents. And since she couldn't live with them she really didn't have anyone to protect her. She felt a little bad that it seemed she had to be looked after, but it still was comforting that he wanted to look after her. She let out a genuine big smile, the first since the two have met, and said, "Then I'm going to make sure nobody ever gets hurt. You too!" It was a rather large claim but she believed she could.

Jono didn't care what Seth or Akila were saying at the moment. He was trying to catch his breath after laughing so much. He then looked over to the other kids, they were starting to walk into the palace. Must be dinner time, he didn't even hear anyone call for them. Then suddenly a familiar face came walking out to the courtyard. Jono's mother. Jono raced over to her and launched toward her, giving her a big hug. What could he say? He loved his mom. She was the only one who really cared about him, besides Atsu that is.

"Jono..." his mother said as she hugged him back. She pushed him away slightly, crouched down, and looked at his face. "My darling boy, do you not know you are late?" She then took her sleeve and wiped his face a little, "You're always so scuffed up. You make me worry."

"You don't have to worry about me mom!" Jono said happily.

"We have to go Jono, we have to hurry ok?" she said standing up straight and holding his hand gently. She had to be ready to serve the royalty dinner. Jono knows he has to come in before they call the other children in for dinner. However she didn't have it in her heart to scorn the boy, he meant no harm. They wouldn't be dreadfully late, it took the royal children a little while to clean for dinner.

[[I'm going to pass on Atem for the moment. He's in his room sad and hungry XP lol. I'll probably bring him back next post just to think some more.]]

Atem only got off of his bed when he heard the guards talking. He ran to the door, hoping by some miracle it was his father telling the guards to let him come to dinner. He put his ear to the door to listen. They were talking to his brother, telling him he couldn't come to dinner with him. Atem sighed as he sat against his door slumping down. He wished he could have at least been able to talk to Atsu, that way he could ask him to bring him back food. He was really hungry, his stomach was starting to gurgle. He put his hands on his stomach and felt like he was about to tear up again. Then he remembered Akila's face, that stupid smirk only he caught while she tattled on him. Maybe if he pleaded with his father, he could marry someone else. He doubted it. He couldn't get anyone to discipline her either. Although, there was always Seth. Seth paid him the correct amount of respect, and was the only person Akila respected. If she respected anyone that was.

As she smiled she blushed a little cause his compliment embarrassed her. But not in a bad way. "Hee hee, thanks!" she said thanking him for the compliment. Her smile disappeared to a questionable look. She wasn't quite used to their scheduling yet. Atsu helped her up and he ran off to get ready. She waved back at him and called out, "Bye Atsu." They would probably see each other at dinner, right? However, she did not hurry.

Since she was to be a royal healer, she was treated like the other children who would one day be the Pharaoh's priests and priestesses. So she had maids and servants. She had a wardrobe like them as well. This was such a rare thing, but she had such a rare power that was so beneficial- she had to be kept as healthy and well off as the other royal children. But it was still such a strange thing. She entered her room and there were two maids ready to get her prepare her for dinner. This was something strange and new, she never did this back at home. They cleaned her up, taking notice of the cut. They bandaged that up properly and continued dressing her. They gave her a nice white sleeveless dress. It was elegant but plain. After brushing her hair they pinned up the sides with two golden lotus pins. Amme constantly kept touching the one pin and was told to stop. Once done the one maid walked with her down to the dinning hall.

As much as Jono hated doing this, he did it because his mother told him he had to. Most of the children and the adult simply ignored him as if he was not even there. As much as he hated that, it was preferred over him dealing with people like Seth. Being ignored was better then being harassed. Jono followed his mother who held two platters that she would serve. Jono held one small one for now. He was in training, so he was more like his mother's helper for now. Jono's mother served the larger plate to Seth and Akila's father, then she walked down to serve Seth's dinner. "Jono, give that one to Akila," she said ever so quietly so not to disturb anyone. Jono did as his mother told him. He served the plate to Akila but kept his head down. Did he have to do this the rest of his life? It was horribly embarrassing. He rushed back over to his mother to stand by her side. Know they wait, for anything they need.

[[maybe later in the story when they are older, Jono does attempt to escape and live outside of the palace. Maybe this is at the point where Seth is 'interested' in him so he goes after him and drags him back?]]

The maid pointed to where Amme had to sit. As time went by Amme would know this on her own. But for now, she had to be shown. She took her seat next to her caregiver, who was higher then a maid or servant but still only a worker of the palace. Since Amme was still a child, she needed someone to be there to take care of her and teach her. Even though the woman was nice, she was not motherly and she was not her mother. Amme sat at the table quietly, for a commoner she actually had very good manners. Probably because she was good at mirroring others. When handed her food she turned around to the servant and thanked them. She didn't quite understand the concept of servants. But anybody who gave her anything should be thanked right? That's how her mother raised her. She looked down at her plate and the smile disappeared.

On the plate was a cooked squab, some vegetables, and bread. Squab was like a little chicken, an animal, a living thing. She looked up at her caregiver sadly. She absolutely did not want to eat it, it was an animal at one point. This had happened before when she lived with her parents. Her father took her fishing so they could have dinner. The second she saw her father pull up the fish and it stopped flapping- she knew it was dead. Most kids her age didn't understand death, she did for some reason. And she raised a horrible fit with her father after wards. Enough to make him stop fishing that day, enough for her to refuse to eat even when they had nothing at all. She just couldn't. Seeing she couldn't get her caregivers attention with her look, Amme isolated the squab to one spot of her plate and ate the vegetables and bread only. When her caregiver requested her to eat her meat Amme simply shook her head childishly.

She didn't even know what happened. All of a sudden the plate was knocked out of her hands. She gasped when it happened. "My apologies Seth, I don't know what came over me," she said bowing to him. She would have to retrieve another plate for him, but not after she cleaned the mess she created.

Jono instantly looked up at Seth with fire in his eyes. That fiend! Talking to his mother that way. He bared his teeth and growled slightly. Seth had succeeded in spiking Jono's anger. But he couldn't say anything, he had to stay quiet- that's what his mother has told him over and over again. Besides, this wasn't like outside, their were adult there-watching him. And if Seth's threat held water, Jono could be beaten by them if he did anything to oppose Seth or any of the other rich snob children. Jono got down with his mother to help her pick up the food. His mother couldn't have dropped it, Seth must have did something. Good food gone to waste, they would have to throw it away.
