xLady Tsukiyox Quote: So do your God's view there so be set Moral guidelines of Right and wrong so that you may weigh your process along Reincarnation/admittance to the afterlife(because if there is no Right or Wrong only perception there can be no mistakes" or indeed do you still hold that there are no absolute morality's and "Do as thou wilt" is a more apt way to live your life? I’ll erase this feeling… I still have a long life don’t I? kono omoi wo keshiteshimau ni ha mada jinsei nagai deshou? I don't believe in a God per say yet. As I stated I'm still doing research. Many people think what they do in their life is wrong according to their decisions. Either they shut out many people in their life, cheated on too many people, hurt many people emotionally, physically, mentally, etc. There are pagans who believe in the Summerlands which is a place inbetween this life and the next life where you look over your life and see if you made any mistakes and if you wish to correct them. When I said it's based on perception I meant it's based on your own personal perception. If during your life you don't think what you did was wrong, that perception can change once you die and enter the Summerlands. The only time morality is absoulute is when there are cultural universals, which is basically morals that are viewed universally by every culture. Like viewing murder is wrong for example would be a cultural universal. I’m missing the feeling… so this pain is also welcomed! natsukashiku naru konna itami mo kangeijan We might think that murder is a culturaly universal wrong but we would be mistaken to think such. Watch "End Of The Spear" and learn about a tribe native to Brazil and gasp in supprize.

For us Christians, we use the Bible to study God's Word and learn more about how to live life. Most people go to the Bible when it comes to research as well. What do you use to research paganism (other than Wikipedia! xp )

There are books and other resources on the different religions. You just have to be careful on what you read. Silver Ravenwolf wouldn't be a good source to study. razz A M&R reg actually put together a list of books that are good to read as research material for the different religions. Again paganism isn't just one religion but a bunch of different ones fitting in one umbrella term. I’m missing the feeling… so this pain is also welcomed! natsukashiku naru konna itami mo kangeijan

(am I the only one asking questions?!) Here's another one: does nationality, time, and/or sexual identity/orientation affect paganism? If so, how?

Quote: (am I the only one asking questions?!) Seems to be that way. Quote: Here's another one: does nationality, time, and/or sexual identity/orientation affect paganism? If so, how? It depends on the deities themselves. Not all deities are accepting of outsiders of their pantheon.

I'm not sure I understand your last post. It says to me, basically, that if I'm born in the wrong place at the wrong time, I'm screwed over. Also, as good as people think they are, we still have a part in us that wants to do bad things. (What Christians call the 'flesh' or 'sinful nature') Why would any deity let a sinful person into heaven or the afterlife? The reason I ask this is because once someone does something evil, the action is irreversible. Actions have consequences. That, and even if the person truly, genuinely repents of their evil deeds, (s)he may want to do evil again. Proverbs 26:11 As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his folly.

Some deities like Brigid for example won't care where you're from. She will actually let you worship her despite being apart of the Gael pantheon. The key is to do research before you call on them. Also deities in the different pantheons aren't like YHVH. It's a hard concept for those within the big 3 monotheistic religions, and for those coming out of those religions. The Deities in different pantheons, like Greece for example are more like humans but with super powers. They're super-humans razz I’m missing the feeling… so this pain is also welcomed! natsukashiku naru konna itami mo kangeijan

I hope you don't mind me asking this question. How do you view the God that we Christians believe in? In other words, how would you describe YHVH?
The only "human-gods" I have ever heard of is Hercules and Jesus. If you don't mind, please elaborate on the Greek super-humans. Or, you could provide a link. Whatever works best.

The human-gods aren't neccessarily human in the sense, biologically. However they act more or less like us (Jealousy, lust, hatred, etc). And that they were creations. In Greek Mythology, Gods like Zeus, Aphrodite, etc were born from the Titans. I’m missing the feeling… so this pain is also welcomed! natsukashiku naru konna itami mo kangeijan

xLady Tsukiyox That YHVH is omnipotent, omnicesent. That he is the creator. I agree with you here. I also believe that He is omnipresent, all seeing, and Holy. What about His personality? How do you view that?

How do you view that? It's what Christians typically believe it's not what I believe. :3 I don't think YHVH has a personality..well he probably does but it's not like humans..

What is the main aim, goal, and/or mandate of paganism (or being a pagan), and how would one achieve this?

Orizion What is the main aim, goal, and/or mandate of paganism (or being a pagan), and how would one achieve this? There really isn't a main goal besides not being a Christian, Muslim or Jewish. Each pagan religion is different and all have different goals and aims.

Allister Crowley. Have you read any text on what happened to him in his mysterious disappearance? I heard he tried to cross the abyss and failed.
