"All is fair in war and in races. Love is never fair my friend!" This overly mashed saying yelled as Elzo turned a corner, almost falling in the process. Darn shopper floors, way to much wax. Also to many kids that Elzo was having to navigate around. "Can't catch me Sucka!" These words were uttered before a particularly well waxed patch of shop set the bot down onto his back.
"Noooooo~ MY LEAD!" He was scrambling to get up before some random kid ran up at hit him in the fact with a ball.
Darn kids.

Oh shiiiiit wax floor!
It was at this moment as Barnaby scrambled to keep his footing that he sent a silent prayer to the god of Velcro shoes. Had he been wearing anything with laces it would have only made things ten times worse. As it was he was slipping and sliding, trying to make the best of his lead.
He half turned to cast Elzo the thumbs up over his shoulder, which proved to be a near fatal mistake as the redhead nearly close lined himself on an overhanging "INCREASED SALE!" sign. "Man who changed the difficulty level of this race to hard?!" That got him his fair share of dirty looks from customers but he didn't stop long enough to care. He had a race to win!

He was sorely tempted to throw the ball right back at the little b*****d, but, his mom was there and glaring at him like it was all his fault. "Brat." Getting up, Elzo managed one step before he fell back down. It was like a comedic routine. On the second try, he got it. Finally.
However, Barnaby was too far a head of him. Race? Lost. Way to fail. Ending up at the bike department, Elzo sighed. "It was a good race, but next time man. I will win." Bro-shoulder grab. A sign of acceptable defeat and manly bro trust. Trust being it was not to be shoved back at him.

It took the redhead a good ten seconds before he realized that he had left Elzo in the dust, and by that time he'd already made it into the bike section. Had he know the other teen had been waylaid (multiple times as it were) he may have stopped to let him catch up. As it stood, he could only fold his arms over his chest and grin while he waited for his bro to catch up.
"What? In your dreams!" But Barnaby responded by punching Elzo playfully in the shoulder, which meant he'd probably let the other teen win should they race again (assuming he didn't beat him fair and square). "Clearly somebody was out to get you today though. That was some crazy racing terrain out there." They should definitely change the track and field races to indoor 'street' races. It would make things ten times more challenging.
Turning towards the bike display, he shoved his hands in his pockets and asked, "What colours are we looking for?" Pink with unicorns perhaps?

Barnaby had been on the mark. Dead on. Pulling out a pink tricycle with ribbons, a bell, and a basket, it was decked with My Little Pony stickers and enough glitter to but the movie Labyrinth to shame. "I think this one is perfect from my bro, don't you think?"
Nearby, a mom and daughter looked on, horrified. The girl who had been down the isle put away her pink tricycle and pulled off a power ranger's one. Elzo and the pink abomination looked just that freaky.

"Dude, that is the best bike in the world, hands down. I am now extremely jealous of your brother." The redhead had to try extra, extra had to keep his face straight, nearly succeeding until the final words. At that point, it was all over, and his face broke out into a s**t-eating grin. The bike was the most terrifying thing he'd ever seen in his life. Naturally, that made it all the more awesome.
"God, he's going to kill you, man. You're going to be like, deader than dead." Somewhere in the world, Marlo was probably sneezing up a storm and wondering what possible doom was going to befall him.

"Hold on, we much check the effectiveness." He sat on it and wheeled himself towards the check out.
"OH MAN THIS IS THE MOST ******** AWESOME BIKE EVER AM I RIGHT?"
He was a 19 year old.
Riding a pink god awful tricycle.
A fact of life was made clear to all the children who saw him. There was no god. Not one for Elzo Xanis anyway.

Barnaby gave up completely on keeping a straight face, trotting after his friend on the tricycle like this was the best idea in the world (which it totally was). There were going to be many mothers lecturing their children about what not to do when they were teenagers tonight, of that everyone could be completely certain.
Nevertheless, the redhead had another great idea.
“How fast does it go? Dude, race you to the cash!”
He called the last bit as he started jogging, clearly not remembering all the trouble both of them had gotten into the first time they raced for the bike. But Elzo was on a pink tricycle, and that made all the difference.

He rang the bell.
He was 19, riding a pink tricycle in a store, and racing while ringing the bell.
Elzo had completed a lifelong goal.
Ruin someone's childhood.
Elzo made 'VRRRMMMM' noises as he passed horrified children and staff, and when he made it to the register-
"DUDE. YOU CHEATED. You should know that the traction of a tricycle is less on linoleum then it is on the streets." He sounded offended as he lifted the poor pink abomination onto the checkout lane. "We will settle this like MEN." He held out a brofist.
Bros for life.

It was a pity nobody had a camera, because this definitely classified as a Kodak Moment. A pair of nineteen year old boys with a pink tricycle racing for the cashier? It definitely needed to be caught on tape, or at the very least, end up on YouTube.
"I did not! You just need to peddle faster next time." Barnaby managed to look minorly affronted by the cheating accusation, but that only lasted until Elzo held out the brofist. Grinning, he returned the fist bump with appropriate gusto.
"Dude, you totally need to send me pics when your brother opens this," the redhead said as they moved down the checkout line. "Because it's going to be that amazing."

"Pics will happen. They will be available is full color, and in high-gloss prints. I will use them as next year's Christmas Cards." His eyes had a terrible gleam to them. Siblings were a truely evil thing at times.
After paying for the abomination, Elzo offered a final fist bump. It was time to part ways. Two dudes with a pink tricycle only could be tolerated so long before you started things. Things that Elzo did not plan to start. "Until we meet again?"

With the bicycle paid for, it was time for the two bros to part ways. Barnaby returned the final fist bump with an added "finger explosion" on the end of it. Nothing like finger fireworks to seal the ending of an epic adventure. "Until we meet again," the redhead repeated solemnly.
And that was all she wrote.
