Sara smirked and waited where she was. She looked to the lioness and cub he had spotted and felt an almost overwhelming broken feeling of her heart. It was like a blow to the face, but it soon dissipated as she felt another underlying feeling. Strength, love and the will to go on for her cubs. Sara found unwanted respect for the lioness and found that the lioness smiled even when she felt like letting go forever. She still had other loves in her life and for them she held on. Sara wanted to cry, but instead took a deep breath and washed away the other lioness' feelings from her own. She hated when she felt such horrible, but beautiful things. It happened ever so often when she was around such a tragic story.
Feeling Erebus' attention back on her, she charged toward him skating across the ice with liquid grace. Running right into him, she bowled them both over to the ground. Giggling, Sara licked his cheek before trying to skate out of his grasp. It was times like this when neither of them said nothing, yet they both said so much.

Erebus caught her by her hind legs and pulled her to him, "Not this time. I've caught you Angel," he smiled and nuzzled her cheek, lacing his tail with hers. He payed no mind to those who was watching and merely thought of them as if they weren't even there. One flaming red claw trailed down her back, as he cuddled up close to her. He wouldn't let her get away this time, as she usually had whenever they were out and about during the daylight.

"Erebus there are children around," even so, she didn't care much either. But she didn't want parents mad at her. Shuddering under the intimate touch, she sighed and nearly melted in his arms. It wasn't so cold anymore, as her body heated against his again. Red flags went off in her head and she tried to think clearly as all of the blood rushed to her ears. "My love, my demon, my Erebus, please," she said in barely a whisper, "There has to be something else we can do." Sara tried wriggling free of his grasp, but there was a war between her mind and her heart. Her mind was saying get away, that it wasn't right to be displaying such things as this out in public, but her heart was saying who cares. You should stay.

He felt the shiver run through her body for the second time that day and grinned. Knowing she wanted to stop, he released his hold, but turned her to face him. Lightly, Erebus caught her face in his hands and touched his nose to hers letting her know it wasn't over yet. "Actually there is a couple of other things I wanted to show you Angel," he said charmingly, knowing she'd follow him just about anywhere.

"Oh? Like what my Love," Sara's voice was husky, low and seductive. She growled once, or twice, then caught the look of other's and composed herself to look like a lady, or at least act like one for the time being. Saraphina giggled and shimmied up to him, brushing against his side and nuzzling his cheek lovingly. She let him know silently that it wasn't indeed over, not by a long shot. Trotting alongside Erebus, she stared at his silver eyes out of the corner of her eye. They captivated her and took in everything they saw. She loved his questioning looks when he didn't understand and the look he gave her from time to time; his eyes then looked as if they were made out of diamond, glazed over and bright. Quietly and without any hint of thought, Sara again went over the possbility of having a family with him. It wouldn't stray from her mind, rather it seemed to have drilled itself into her brain and wanted to stay. She couldn't forget the words they had exchanged about the topic, nor could she shake the feeling that it was meant to be. Sara felt it was perfect, that she had finally found someone to love and be loved by.

"Snowmen! We can even have a snowball fight! Act like a cub again and be happy, haven't you ever had times like that?" Erebus bounded around her in a circle, clueless as to what she was thinking about. But he noticed she had been deep in thought for a few moments now, as it took her delayed reaction forever to appear. He wished he had children of his own to play with. He could teach them how to fight and be fierce! Yet, be kind and gentle. Erebus had gone over so many moments in his life before when he wished he had a family to make memories with. He really wished she would tell him what was wrong; why she wouldn't say what she really wanted, or why she was afraid to be his.

"Oh? What?" Sara drug herself out of her thoughts and looked up to meet his shining eyes, "Why yes of course! Snowmen! I can't remember the last time I ever made one of those creatures," she smiled happily. "The fights were joyful as well when I was little; me and my brother used to have so much fun! We'd have a war with the rival clan every year!"

"A snowman first, then we'll have a snowball fight," Erebus ran up ahead and glanced over his shoulder ever so often to see her following. He zig-zagged through the thickly, snow covered trees until he found the perfect spot. No one had disturbed the snow here yet.
A few hours later . . . As she made the last part of her snowman, Erebus quietly snuck up behind on the opposite side of the snowman and waited. Just as his Angel was about to put the head on, he popped up and shouted, "Boo!"

Sara smiled and nodded in agreement. She loved how she could be the sweet lioness that she had once been during her younger years, even if she dabbled in the dark arts of her clan's dark gods and goddesses. It was just some phase she was going through that ended up giving her power she really never believe had existed then. Sighing in comfort, Sara followed her beloved demon.
A few hours later . . . As she was just about to finish her snowman, Sara gasped in shock and fell over backward in a backward somersault. Erebus had scared the cold right out of her fur. Being somewhat hyped up on a short adrenaline burst, she couldn't help but to giggle as she got back on her feet. A devious grin laced its way to her maw; it was the only hint she gave before she tackled him to the ground and licked his cheek. "You are so mean!" she laughed the words out, as she intertwined her tail with his. Sara felt his paws pulling her closer, and purred at the loving action.

Erebus was tackled to the ground with an "Ooomf," and felt her body against his. Pulling her closer, he moved his head to the side to replace his cheek with his mouth and caught her tongue with his. Pulling away quickly he blushed and nuzzled his head in the crook of her neck, "I love you Angel," he whispered into her fur. Moving his head away after a moment of laying there with her, Erebus looked her in the eyes and tried to read what was there. He couldn't find much of anything, except fear and confusion. What are you afraid of Angel? he thought. He wanted to ask, but instead an idea popped into his head.
"There's something else we need to do. Rather than having a snowball fight, why don't I show you an ice cave? They're quite beautiful this time of year," Erebus gently pulled away from her and stood to stretch. "It's not far from here, I promise."

Astonished at what he had done, her cheeks turned a deep maroon color as she too blushed. Sara got over the shock after a second and instead smiled warmly as she snuggled up to him. "Oh Erebus, I love you too," she replied quietly. Sara was about to fall asleep in his arms, when he moved from his spot leaving her to feel cold and alone, even though she knew she wasn't. She just didn't want to move for a little while longer. "Oh? I've never seen one before . . . They truly exist?"

Erebus chuckled and nodded, "Aye they do indeed Angel. Follow me," he then led the way. They went deeper into the thick part of the forest and then went where the snow was the deepest. More than once, he had to stop to help her out of a snow hole. He couldn't help but to chuckle here and there at her. At that, he'd get glaring eyes that automatically changed to loving and laughing.
It wasn't but an hour later that they finally came to a cave entrance. The whole cave looked to be like any other, but he knew what lay ahead of them and he knew she'd love it. "Don't stop now, we're almost there Angel."

"Erebus you've said that at least five times. Besides it doesn't look so special, just like any other old cave I've seen," Sara sighed. He was persistent and stubborn. Giving up, she continued to follow him, "Okay, you win. I'll follow," she said dramatically. It seemed lately that's all she'd been doing: following him to wherever he liked. But everything he'd shown her was always worthwhile, so she trusted him.
Eventually, small hole in the cave's ceiling let some light shine threw and as they went deeper still, she noticed there was ice on the cave walls. How the light hit each chunk of ice, it was as if there were a million gems in the room. The light would hit the ice, then fracture out to all colors of the rainbow. "Oh wow my love, it is beautiful," she finally found her breath to say in awe of the sight.

"Wait for it Angel, the grand finale is just up ahead," Erebus smiled and bounded ahead of her, "C'mon you slow poke! It's almost time!" he figured it was nearly nightfall, and if they made it within the next few minutes, he could show her the best of all beauties of nature.

Sara was finally growing tired of the day. The cold had really sucked the energy dry from her body, and all she wanted to do was go to bed in a nice warm cave of furs. But then again she didn't want to spoil the day they had spent together either, so she took a deep breath and pushed on. "I'm not slow! You're the slow one!" Sara giggled and heard her voice echo through the cave, as she ran after him.
The sight that met her gold, flaming eyes was enough to knock the breath out of her lungs. She gazed around at the all-ice surface. Taking care to step lightly, for fear she might break the ice underpaw, Sara trotted out to the middle of the frosty blue, mirroring ice. Her reflection could be seen a thousand times over in the cave. Crystalline forms were scattered all around and just as the ice had fractured the light before, it did so even more here. Colors she'd never dreamed of sparkled and shone in such heavenly beauty, she was afraid she could die here at peace. But the most amazing feature was the giant, open hole in the ceiling that gave a clear view of the bright, full moon and stars.
