Kazuma Koroko

I wonder if it’s w e a k to let you know when I’m feelingsad

Tero asked him if he was one of the ones that brought them to this world. It was a obviious answer to give him; however he couldn't answer as Hetero his master had arrived. Quickly Kazuma bowed down to him and not stood up until Hetero walked towards him; as he stood back up he took his position next to Hetero's left side. He crossed his arms and looked towards the three as Hetero began speak yet again to them telling them that they will use their freedom for his purposes. How they will serve him in return for power. Kazuma gave a more intense stare towards them wondering if they would accept the offer. If one declined he would have to take maters into his own hands and kill them off so they won't make it back to the real world.

Would it be alright to r e v e a l when I’msuffering?

Child like... No one understands

Teros looked up as Hetero came down, his original meeter and greeter for his joining. He listened to the mans changed state. he seemed for serious now, but it was for the best he assume. As Hetero asked if they understood each other Teros stood, his Sax still in his hand. "I understand." He said simply, relaxing his grip on the sax enough to be comfortable but not enough to drop it.

Hetero, the Despondent One

Listening as he received the answer that he had been hoping for from the newest members of their small group, he nodded once in his own affirmation of their stance that they were now officially together in their plans...that their goals were united. They were his instruments and he was their maestro, plucking the proper cords, fingering the proper keys, all of this en route to achieving what he had so thoroughly planned for. His price was steep but the rewards were greater; freedom, protection, salvation...these were all promises that he had made and intended to keep. Those with power never had reason to lie to those beneath them, after all. "That...is what I wanted to hear," he nodded simply as the trio that had been brought here by himself and his servants stood before him ready to carry out his will. Instead of issuing a direct order as it might have seemed he would, however, he simply stood and watched them for a few moments longer...one could speculate to any number of reasons why he watched them. Maybe he was suspicious of their intent and was gauging their honesty, or testing them by reading their thoughts...there was little they could rule out with what few things they knew about him. Hetero had seen their fears and brought them here, after all, so who knew what else he was capable of doing. He spoke again after a few moments of silence, his voice quiet, elegant...something almost hidden within the cold emptiness of it. "There is one thing that I've neglected to mention until now, though. That is...that as you are now, not one of you is of any use to me," he began, turning away from them and taking a few steps into the distance, "and that is why...for the suffering you are about to endure...I apologize."

Snapping his fingers all of a sudden, each of the three who had been brought into the Data Dungeon World would feel disoriented, an unnatural dark surrounding them as they felt like they were falling...falling down into the depths of nothingness until at long last, they hit the bottom in a heap. Each Teros, Kohane, and Mamoru would soon stand and gain their bearings in their new, dark environment...completely separate from one another and alone in their solitude. For a few moments they would stand there alone, until an immense pressure bore down on their chest and their minds...expanding, stretching, tearing as if attempting to claw its way out of their very body...and then, release...and an exhaustion that would slowly drain them of their energy and leave them feeling lighter, more tired, and different than they had ever felt. And then, as if a light switch were suddenly turned on, the brightness returned round the trio, and they would find themselves face-to-face at the precipice of their own Shadow World, staring into the faces of their other selves...their shadow selves...their true selves. Golden eyes and a face that was just like theirs stared back at them...menacing looks in their eyes that promised each an ordeal was about to engulf them.

Meanwhile, at Hetero, he did not watch as the three spheres of pitch black which had formed around the trio he had brought into his dungeon remained in stasis behind his back. His green eyes closed as he stepped back in between his Dark Queen and Black Knight, leaving one final thought with the rookies who he may or may not see again. "They will face their 'true selves' in that world," Hetero commented emptily, not a hint of compassion in him, "and if they are wise enough to accept their shadows as their true selves, then we will progress them into the next stage. And any who are failures...who make the mistakes that those kid detectives made...I will make use of them in other ways. His green eyes opened again and were as cold and empty as ever; not hesitating another moment he began walking deeper into the final room of his dungeon until he was near the back of the completely-empty, cavernous cathedral to evil. There, he waited for his Dark Queen and Black Knight, Kazuma, to join him. "And now," he began as they drew near, motioning for Yuuki to come with him and Kazuma to step out into the massive, open space before him, "I have a test for the both of you. In order to become one with the shadows..." With another snap of his fingers, several pitch black spaces opened in the walls of his room and from within, an endless horde of shadows began to crash through them at impossible speeds and volumes...bearing down on the three of them until they slammed into an invisible wall...becoming a pitch black mass that made it impossible to tell one shadow from the other.

"My Black Knight...Kazuma the Betrayer...you have become your true self, but you are not yet one with this world, or your shadow brethren. Henceforth, you are to enter this battlefield before you...and you will not emerge from within until you can bend them all to your will. Do you understand?" he asked rhetorically, knowing that Kazuma's devotion to his cause was, mostly, unquestionable. Turning then to his Dark Queen, he showed her the same empty stare that he gave to the other...only with that same hint of something beneath the green orbs. "And you, My Dark Queen, Yuuki the Ascended One...you have already assimilated with many shadows; your command of them, however, is rudimentary," he explained coolly, "if you are to be Queen, you must improve this. Therefore, you will take control of the shadows and maintain this barrier keeping them from you for as long as it takes Kazuma to complete the training." Though they might not understand it, yet, the two of them now had within them the same bloodlust..the same goals as the shadows that they had fought as persona-users. By merging with their true selves, they had become one with this world...one with their true potential...but unlike a fully-formed shadow, these mindless minions were feral, primitive. And only by connecting with them on a primitive, instinctive level could you begin to exert control over them. Through that, or the shortcut of simply taking the shadows upon yourself as Yuuki had done earlier...or as Adachi and Namatame before them. This exercise, in particular, was designed to form that connection between Kazuma and the shadows...or to kill him in the process. Because if he could not achieve this much, at least, then Hetero truly had no use for him.

Yuuki on the other hand...well, his reasons were more complex. But those belonged to Hetero and Hetero alone...and he was more likely to kill than be loose enough to share them...or even to remember them, himself.

Child like... No one understands

Teros was slightly worried as Hetero snapped again, as he should be, the last time he did Teros had gone deaf. His worries weren't unfounded as, a moment later, he began to feel dizzy, his vision fading into a blur as he struggled to remain standing. As he was about to fall he was wrapped on all sides by a strange darkness, keeping him from hitting the ground, despite feeling like he was perpetually falling, his stomach still uneasy. All at once the falling stopped, and as Teros stood up once more, his nausea disappearing, he noticed that he could see nothing around him and he was surrounded by pure darkness. He thought the worst of this experience was over, until once more right when he got comfortable a strange, overbearing pressure fell on him, shortening his breath and clouding his mind as his vision started to fade once more. He felt like he was about to be pulled apart from the inside, a pain unbearable to him, and worse than anything he had ever felt, until all at once the pain let up, replaced by a fatigue that he couldn't think of any time he ever felt as tired. Teros looked around, staring through the darkness, wishing only that he could lay down and sleep, when as his lids slowly rolled shut, just long enough for a blink, his world snapped back into view, though this time it was changed. He looked around, his eyes widening despite how tired he was as he noticed what was once a grand concert hall. The stands that probably once held many great and esteemed concert goers were torn to shreds, the red fabric in tatters. The balconies were destroyed, their marble holdings, pillars, and decorations crumbled with bits of marble debris scattered all around the main floor. Teros continued to look around, turning in place as his eyes fell across the grand stage, it's wooden floor in splinters. As his eyes scanned the stage, he stepped back startled as he seemed to be staring at the back of what appeared to be the spitting image of himself. At first he thought he was looking at a mirror, but something wasn't right, his image seemed different, weaker even. He started to walk towards the stage, climbing upon the stage when he heard something that sent a chill down his spine. "Hehehe, have you come for the show as well?" a strangely hollow voice said, as the image of Teros spun looking at him with a forlorn expression. Teros took a step back as he stared at...himself, though his face was gaunt and his body was weakened missing any youthful vigor that it may have possessed, and his eyes yellowed. Teros shadow self smirked as it brought a rusty old Saxophone to it's mouth, blowing into it and letting loose a torrent of sour notes and horrible cords. Teros dropped to the ground as the horrid sound assaulted his ears, even penetrating through his hands acting as ear muffs. The shadow began to cackle at the effect on Teros. "My my my, it looks like your not as good at this thing as you thought, are you?" It said, cackling once more. Teros looked up at his shadow as a raged look shot through his eyes. "What the HELL are you talking about. You're the one whose horrible at it, and using MY face." He growled as the shadow merely waved it's finger. "Ah, but haven't you realized yet? I AM you Teros... and you are me, in a way." It said, grinning a wide cheshire grin. Teros could merely clench his fists as he said that, there was no way that that was him. "Yes, I'm the you that HATES the fact that everyone stops being good eventually, even you. You're just afraid that if something small and simple were to happen to you, say a broken finger, an ear infection, things that happen at any time could tear your world asunder. No more jazz, no more playing no more YOU." It said, chuckling as it continued. "So, why worry about any of that? You could just surrender yourself now, be done with it and stop worrying." It said. Teros could only shake his head. He wanted to hit it, to attack it or something, but he was just so weak, and the shadow realized this. Despite his frail form the shadow dashed forward quickly, lifting Teros up by his throat and pressing him against a large marble slab that had fallen from a balcony. The shadow looked at the weakened Teros and grinned, "SO, are you ready to stop worrying." It asked as it's hand started to slowly squeeze Teros' throat. Teros began to think, even as his vision started to fade from oxygen deprivation. Stop worrying... wait... I'm here because Hetero sent me here to become useful... like Kazuma... is this how he got his power... maybe... he started to think as he reached up, wrapping his hands around his shadows wrist. He wrenched his hands down quickly, a brief moment of new found strength as his shadows grip was broken, before Teros quickly dove onto him, tackling him to the ground. Teros leaned in close to the shadow, breathing heavily for a moment before speaking. "...fine I'm ready to stop worrying... I know what I fear, so do you, so I'm willing to accept that you are how I really feel...." He said determined as the shadow grinned widely once more. The shadow beneath Teros reached up, grabbing him once more, cackling wickedly. He began to form and mold into Teros, enveloping his body before finally they were a singularity. The newfound Teros stood upm examining himself for a moment as the acceptance of his shadow was complete. As this happened, the world around his disappeared once more, replaced by the darkness of the orb he was trapped in when Hetero snapped. He hung suspended for a moment before the orb disappeared, depositing Teros roughly on the ground.

Mamoru Tsuzuki

Mamoru was momentarily confused by Hetero’s words, until darkness surrounded him. The ground beneath him had seemingly vanished, and he plummeted downwards. The fall felt like it stretched on forever, until, with an ‘oomph’, he finally landed. Picking himself up, he looked around the dark space, seeing no means to leave. What was he supposed to do here? As he stood there, he felt a force pushing down on him. As it grew stronger, Mamoru felt as if whatever it was was trying to tear its way out. Then, it was gone. Mamoru felt energy seeping away, and tiredness taking over. Feeling light headed, he sank down to his knees. What the hell was going on? As if in answer to his thought, the dark seemed to suddenly lift, and Mamoru found himself in a bare mausoleum. “Well, hello there,” a voice said. Looking around, he saw that a person was looming over him. But, something was definitely weird, as the guy in front of him looked a lot like him. Like a twin almost, the only difference being strange yellow eyes. They seemed to shine with promises of more to come.
Staring at his double, Mamoru asked, “Who are you?” The other laughed, the tone of which sent shivers down Mamoru’s spine. “Who am I? It should be pretty obvious, don’t you think?” The double stepped closer, closing any space between them. Instinctively, Mamoru stepped backwards, trying to keep a little distance between himself and this sinister looking double. His back soon hit the wall, and the other stepped closer, giving Mamoru nowhere to flee. The only door was behind the Mamoru-clone, plus it was currently locked. “Come on, Mamoru,” the clone taunted. “I know you know who I am.” Mamoru ducked around the clone, running for the door. The clone merely walked along behind him, a smirk on his face as he watched the other push and pull on doors that would never budge. Not from this side of the stone doors, at least. “Since you refuse to say anything, let me give you some motivation.” Mamoru-clone stopped a few feet away from Mamoru. “Just today, you looked at the destruction with disgust. So many dead. Glad you weren’t one of them. But, you could have been.”
Mamoru turned from the stone doors to look at his double. What he said was true…he had been glad he wasn’t one of the dead. “But, circumstances forced you to work at that hospital.” The last word was spat out, like it had a bad taste to it. “The very ground where death finds most of its prey.” Mamoru leaned against the wall, eyes wandering down to the ground. It was true, all of it. “I don’t want to ever die…” he said, sliding down the doors to a sitting position. Grasping his necklace in both hands, he heard laughter from the other. “Ah, yes, Nyx-sama. You cling to her like a child to its mother. You believe she can save you, do you?” “Of course she can!” Mamoru shouted back, glaring up at his yellow eyed double. Nyx would always protect him, he was sure. Never would he end up like her. Standing again, Mamoru left his hands hang at his side, fingers clenching into fists. “Can she really? What if this, all of this,” the shadow said, gesturing around him, “is all just a way to give you what you need to help yourself? By becoming useful to him, you’ll have power. Power to do anything, even defeat the death you fear so much.” Mamoru unclenched his hands, endlessly staring at the shadow. “You know everything I think…you look like me…You are me…” The shadow gave a nod, “I am you, and conversely that means you are me. But, only one of us is real.” The shadow reached out a hand, smiling strangely. “Which is which, hm?” Mamoru thought a moment. If the double was him, wouldn’t that make them both real? Maybe the answer was there already. The double was him… “You’re me…which makes you the reality.” Mamoru took the offered hand. Energy surged through his body, origination from the connection between the human and the shadow, until Shadow Mamoru burst outward into darkness, that followed the energy flow and poured into Mamoru.

Kohane Mura
Freshmen

Momma help me, I've been cursed

Listening to the man carefully, Kohane admitted she was a bit concerned for herself. Was she ready for this ? But she had agreed, and feared death, so she could only go through with her choice. Suddenly, she was in complete and utter darkness, and what came with it was pain. She was on the 'ground' in an instant, writhing in the terrible pain that tore her from the inside. She grinded her teeth and clawed at her arms, trickles of blood going down her arm. And just as quickly as it hit, she was left with emptiness that resembled being tired and weak. She'd woken up like this in the middle of the night before, like sand filled her limbs, making it impossible to move.

Then came the awakening. She stood slowly, wobbling, and finally regained her footing. Music filled the air, song. . . She looked around, and saw that she was in a club. Puzzled, she walked forward until she saw a secret entrance and wandered through. It was like a weapon store house, with guns and knives everywhere. Reaching the end of that, she was back in the serene blue club, with a familiar image singing a song. Upon closer inspection, it was Kohane.

"Oh, Hane - chan ~ You made it !" the other self spoke, grinning madly. Kohane blinked and tilted her head. "I. . .I beg your pardon ?" Sighing, the golden eyed self left the stage and walked up to the blue eyed girl.
"Babe, you're such a selfish little b***h. You are throwing away a life of being human to being me. But then again, we are one." Kohane was about to object, but saw the truth. She bit her lip and hung her head. "You forgot to add I'm a murderer." The Shadow wrapped her arms around the small girl and smirked when out of sight. "Oh honey, I know, I know. You just want to make it all go away, don't you ? Well, tell you what. I'll make it all go away. I'll make them all go away." Resting her head on her Shadow's shoulder, Kohane and Shadow Kohane were no longer two separate beings.

Back at the Dungeon, Kohane's body collapsed on the ground, looking like a mangled victim.

Yuuki watched as Hetero talked to the new three people that were in front of them. After talking to them she watched as they were surround by black spheres and she she smirked a little. Watching Hetero become her and Kazuma she just nodded her head to what Hetero was saying. "Hopefully they will accept their shadows as their true selves. It would be a pity to not use them for what they should be use for." Seeing Hetero start to walk off, she followed behind him. Her walk seemed different though, like it was more flowing. Yuuki raised an eyebrow as Hetero said that he had a test for her and Kazuma. Yuuki turned to the shadows that were summoned and were stopped by the invisible wall, just like in Dark Wonderland. Yuuki smirked a little at the task that she had to do. "I will improve for you, my King." Yuuki then focused on the shadows and started to make a couple of them attack Kazuma without giving any warning to him. She figured that Kazuma could handle it though seeing as to what he did in the tournament.

Hetero, the Despondent One

"I know you will," the Despondent One almost smirked as Yuuki obliged his will, holding back the shadows from their side of the room and controlling their bloodlust and hatred, focusing it on a single object inside the room...Kazuma Koroko. Turning away to let that spectacle begin and continue on its own, he instead returned attention to the black orbs that continued to hover in front of him, these embryos of evil hovering like a sphere of onyx strung up to hang from the cavernous ceiling overhead. Teros the musician was the first to break free of the world into which he had been cast, and judging instantly by the darkness that surrounded him the leader of this newly-formed group knew that the process had been a success. And then Mamoru, the fanatic Nyxist who feared death escaped from his world with similar progress; the last of the three was the girl whom Kazuma had brought, Kohane Mura, her ordeal taking a little longer than the others. Watching intently, Hetero's impassive eyes did not waver, green focused on black until the latter was gone and only the girl remained. Searching her crumpled form like he was peering straight into the core of her, he nodded when he saw that she had indeed overcome the first test. She looked much worse for wear at that, but there was nothing he could do to change that. Facing your true self was always a hellish ordeal...so much, in fact, that so many chose to either make the mistake of accepting it as simply a part of them to be suppressed or not accepting it at all...leading to their death. Kohane had shown great inner strength in accepting the true self, the shadow, for what it actually was. For being her...

"It seems that you all have survived the first ordeal. And now that your eyes are opened to what you truly are, you have ascended to a power and an existence that is beyond mere humanity," he spoke to the trio again in his empty voice, standing in front of them like a professor lecturing his students or a drill sergeant talking to his new platoon. There was a businesslike professionalism in him...that cold, detached feeling that it didn't matter to him whether or not you continued under him, but promising the proper rewards and recognition for those who stayed and did their job properly. There was no room in him for compassion...only ruthless efficiency. And now, they were one step closer to increasing that efficiency. "Not only have you obtained the facade which which you will face life's hardships...your persona...you have obtained a gift far greater. You have tapped into your inner self...the ultimate potential no ordinary mortal commands. And with this power, you will overcome your fears...enjoy the freedoms you have desired, but been too afraid to grasp...and do my work. Do we understand one another?" he asked, now having given all of them more than enough time to try and get back to their feet. They had suffered an intense and draining ordeal, but their master now was a demanding one. Those who could not meet his demands had no place in his employ...but he had the utmost faith in their 'loyalty' now. "Now then..."

"My Black Songster, Teros the Musician...with the power of your songs, you will obliterate the silence and our enemies. The Black Bard, Mamoru the Nihilist, you have been given the power to cheat the very mortality you fear...a power beyond humanity, so that no mortal shall ever do you harm...and you will use your new-found freedom to become a sword for those who have given you this power. And last, but not least..." he paused, shifting his eyes in-turn from each target of his words to the next, reaching the crumpled, little girl last, "The Black Bird, Kohane the Selfless...yours is the power of sacrifice. To obliterate your selfishness, you will safeguard the lives of those whom you hold dear...and as you look around you now, etch these faces into your little black heart. Care for them, dedicate yourself to them, and when the moment comes to use your powers, you will ascend past your own fears and place yourself between your allies and enemies. These are the gifts that I have given all of you, to erase your fears...to liberate you from your mundane lives.'

'And so I ask you now...after all I have given to you in the name of your freedom...in the name of your lives...will you pledge them now to me?"

Kohane Mura
The Selfless

You chιp away the old versιon of you

Shaking her head to clear it, the girl stood up and looked around. She felt refreshed, renewed. . . Reborn. She listened to Hetero with a calm expression, obediently listening to him as he gave them titles and meanings in their lives. She was to protect. . . Closing her eyes with a content smirk, the girl nodded. "So be it. I will be your guardian." Collecting her thoughts, she slowly raised her head and opened her eyes with their golden shine. "I will live and die to serve you," she promised, watching the man's expressionless face. Somewhere, deep inside, a flame sparked in her chest. She knew what she was doing now, and she held only pride in her words, knowing she had the power to do as she had said.

Burning in my brain...

Having been the first to complete his trial by fire, Teros was already clear minded, though still extremely tired, when Hetero appeared before them. He looked down at the Saxophone in his hand, the wretched chain that held him to what he was before, and the last link he had to who he was before. He didn't need the Saxophone, he was capable of playing other things, but the Saxophone was what he used to enjoy the most, used to, because playing the Saxophone was a fickle skill. He would take up his violin again, a more suitable musical talent. You could play the violin with broken fingers, or even when stricken with deafness. He stood up as Hetero gave him a title and purpose, nodding the entire time. He looked down at the Saxophone in his hand. It was time to break this chain, for his new master. He grasped the saxophone halfway down it's neck, lifting it slightly before slamming it against the ground. The obsidian knobs and levers shatter as it struck the ground, bits of metal and stone scattering from where it landed. The way he had thrown it, the neck had ruptured and the instrument was ruined. "I pledge my life to you." He said, looking up at Hetero and smirking.

I can feel the flame...

Kazuma Koroko

I wonder if it’s w e a k to let you know when I’m feelingsad

Kazuma was pleased that the rookies decided to accept Hetero's offer. Now all they needed to do was to find their true selves and go through the same process as Kazuma did during his hospital fight with Raiden. However the process wouldn't be easy for them, well all Kazuma could hope for is that they would succeed in their quest. When they do they will all realize how much power they have grown in such little time; Now that the Rookies were handling their little world Kazuma had to do a little training of his own. He saw his master walked away which means Kazuma had to follow him; while they were walking in the back of his mind he wondered if Kohane would be able to handle it. Thinking of such doubts Kazuma reassured himself that she would make it as well as the others. As Hetero stopped so did Kazuma; he looked behind his master to see something frightening. The large cathedral that was behind Hetero surpised Kazuma, he felt something omnious as he gazed upon the large church, truly this was a fitting theme for Hetero. He wondered why he had brought him to this place; Kazuma expected an explaination from Hetero and has predicted he recieved one. Listening to Hetero's words the fear of the cathedral turned into a place of a grand opportunity. From what he was told this place was had a purpose, and for the moment that purpose was for KAzuma to connect to the shadows as training so that he can grow even stronger than before. Kazuma liked that idea greatly however there was a chance of him dying since he was not aloud to come out until he had completed bedning them to his will. Kazuma gave a nod to Hetero showing that he fully udnerstood what he must do. He figured that shadows were mindless, primitive, animal like creatures that would only seek to kill anything in their way until they were only left to kill each other until one was standing as the dominate one. With that logic Kazuma would have to go down to their level as well; he threw away his gauntlets and greaves as he went inside the cathedral to find that it was for the moment totally empty. Walking in deeper he saw black goop seeping from the walls and going down to the floor continously. The black goop on the floor spread out and began to form shadows. Knight Shadows, Maya shadows, Turrents shadows, Wheel shadows, Sword shadows, and a unique type of shadows that resembles a minature goblin with sharp claws. Armies of them surround Kazuma preparing to strike at any moment so that they could rip him to shreds. Kazuma looked around thinking of the odds of him living through this; they were slim however Kazuma did not care he was about ready to kill them all as well so that he can move on and become stronger. Nothing will get in his way; he will have them all bow down towards him as the dominate one. Kazuma's black aura began to show, but it wasn't convincing to the shadows that he was one of them. They all began to rush in towards him while Kazuma rushed towards one direction that had two knight shadows coming at him. Leaping forward to them before they had a chance of fighting Kazuma grabbed hold of their heads and knocked them down to the ground before swirling them around knocking back any shadow that was mixed in the cross fire. Finally he threw them over further back in the clusters of Shadows. The turrents shaows began to fire out a multiple volleys from the cannons that shot up in the air and came crashing down in Kazuma's direction. Looking up he began to dash towards the side trying to avoid it however he wasn't lucky enough to avoid them all and the shockwaves that came after. Getting hit by three of them it set kazuma flying and crashing into some Maya shadows with smoke evaporating from his body. getting up on all fours he saw that two sword type shadows were about to slame their swords onto kazuma's body to cut him in two, Kazuma acted quickly and rolled over to the side and summoned a lighting bolt to crash down on one of the sword type doing some descent amount of damage to it. The goblin like shadows came in at Kazuma; one jumped on him and slashed at his chest knocking Kazuma on his back as blood slowly poured out of his chest. He would not let this stand though, before the goblin shadow could do anything else Kazuma latched his hand onto the it's face while the other one held the neck tightly and he began to pull hard and violently until he decapitated the shadows head.Throwing the head to the side Kazuma got up and went in to fight some Maya shadows, one tried to grab Kazuma but he side stepped and grabbed the arm only to rip it off and smacked the hurt maya shadow in its mask before delivering a powerful punch to the mask breaking it. A maya tried to rush in from behind, but Kazuma looked over his shoulder to see the maya; turning around Kazuma continously kicked the side of the Maya shadow until it gave into the pain and fell over. Once it did Kazuma smashed the mask of the maya and it dissolved; another sword type shadow came and crashed its blade down on Kazuma. He counterd by leaping backwards to avoid it, next he jumped onto the blade and ran up until he reached the hand that was holding the handle of the sword; he then jumped off of it going high up in the air. He then came crashing downwards towards a knight shadow with with a flying side kick; as he came downwards kazuma yelled out, "Rider Kick!!" the force of the kick sent the knight flying backwards into more shadows. Kazuma stood up to see that he wasn't even scratching the surface in this training; with his brief pause a knight shadow from behind slashed downwards at Kazuma's back with its lance leaving a descent cut. Kazuma yelped in pain before snapping his fingers bringing down multiple lightning bolts down towards the knight shadow until it dissolved..

Mamoru Tsuzuki

Getting to his feet, Mamoru listened intently as Hetero spoke. The prior experience had been surprising, and he found himself still tired. But, Hetero had commanded his attention, and Mamoru gave it. Giving a nod of understanding at hearing his new title, he said "I give you my life."

Yuuki smirked as she kept the invisble wall up to prevent the shadows to get to her. She looked over to Kazuma seeing him beating shadows up and him getting beat up too. Yuuki sighed a little as made the shadows that were trying to get past wall to go over and attack Kazuma. "Kazuma, I have more shadows for you," she said as she laughed a little. Yuuki summoned more shadows for Kazuma. "Remember your task, you have to learn how to control them." Yuuki then made a knight shadow appear in front of Kazuma and made it go for a stab through Kazuma's chest.

Hetero, the Despondent One

Each of his three newest followers answered to the affirmative with their loyalty brought into question; making no move when they all delivered their pledge to serve him, he simply raised his fingers again to his side and snapped, a loud sound like a gate unlocking echoing in the hall behind them. He didn't need to acknowledge their loyalty, their affirmations, because he already knew what their answers were going to be. There was a darkness that had hold of their souls now that could not easily be countered, and even if it were, the shadow's attachment to their consciousness and their bodies made the idea of abandoning the darkness nigh-impossible. Entered into the service of the Despondent One, there was no escape...no disloyalty that would not be repaid with cruelty...but he had no concerns with these three over such a small thing as betrayal. The Black Bird, the Black Bard, and the Black Songster...yes, they were welcome additions to his growing order. Now, the time had come to move on to the next stage of their development; watching impassively as the entrance to the great and empty computer-esque hall where they all stood was shoved open, Hetero did not flinch when several rabid-looking shadows came pouring into the room and slowly began a harrowing march towards the trio that now stood before him.

"I have given you the key. You have unlocked the door," he told them in his cold, empty voice, "and now you will grasp the power beyond the threshold and make it your own. Hone your strength until it becomes second nature; ignore fatigue, adapt to the oppressive atmosphere of this world, and rely on your 'true' powers in order to not just survive...but to thrive." Raising a pale finger slowly, he aimed the long digit at the incredibly large and feral-looking mass that made their way into the room and towards the trio now. In each of the three warriors' hands would then form a weapon...the weapon of their choice...and with their eyes now guided to the oncoming mass of lesser shadows...and the three boss-powerful shadows [one for each of them] that followed close behind him...the intent of this exercise was made abundantly clear. "Death does not wait until you are rested. This world will chew you up and spit out your corpse if you do not rise to her challenges," he told them coldly, an ominously familiar imagery in his expression to those who knew of the incidents last year, "you will rise to her challenge. By destroying these shadows with the strength I have given you, you will adapt and learn to survive in this treacherous place. Now, go..."

Burning in my brain...

As Hetero spoke once more, snapping, yet again, Teros once more gained that sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach. It was never a good thing when this guy snapped, never at all... and he was right. At the end of a hall a door opened, several large shadows appearing and starting towards them. Teros stood quickly, taking a step back as he listened to Hetero once more. Grasp the power? It was true he felt different, stronger even but he had no clue what to do... he didn't even have a weap... this thought however was cut short as a Violin appeared in one hand, a bow in the other. A Jitte and a Dagger appeared on his right side and he grinned slightly. Well Hetero wouldn't just throw them into the fire. But Teros still wasn't entirely sure how to do this...Tch, you really are helpless. Oh well. This strange thought crashed through Teros mind as his eyes shifted, changing from their bright sapphire blue, to a strange golden brown. His eyes had a faint glow and a white aura seemed to just barely emanate from Teros as, with a new air of confidence and control, he shouldered the violin, setting the bow on the strings and staring straight down at the shadows approaching them. He glanced over at Kohane and smirked. "I think you can just sit back and relax Miss 'Protector' I've got this one more than covered." He said as he slowly began to drag the bow across the thickest string, a heavy low note filling the area. As he pulled the bow all the way down, the tip of it about to touch the string, he jerked his hand up, seemingly striking the string producing a sharp whine. In front of the shadow closest to them, the air would glow blue before exploding outward in a large crystal of ice. A Bufula cast and enhanced through his violin. As the shadow started to stagger backwards from the shot, Teros made two quick swiping motions across the middle of the bridge, touching all strings and making a set of two screeches, each of a different pitch. The shadow that was formerly reeling from the Bufula would be shot twice, once in its chest, and then a second in its head, blowing its head clean off with a twin shot combo. "See." He said to Kohane, smirking.

I can feel the flame...
