Her small little body in his manly arms reminded him of the bushels of flowers he would gather. For she was so light and petite, he felt as though he she were delicate like the long stems of mammoth sunflowers he bred. Cuffed ears darting upwards in shock of his manners being hindered, he gave an apologetic look. "I'm so sorry! Where are my manners... I'm Broderic." he laughed nervously, feeling slightly embarressed, his tail tip curling.

(( This escalated rather faster than expected. xDD ))
The awkward position was beginning to hurt her back, so the brown feline pushed herself into a sitting position, gently easing away from the helpful arm and trying not to seem like she didn't welcome it. It had been nice of him to rush to her aid.
"Don't worry about it," she replied with a smile, and held out her hand to shake. "Broderic is a very interesting name... Mine is Abbey."

{Heheh. I apologize. Broderic is very chivalrous and a bit of a romantic.
Retracting his arms back to himself he couldn't help but chuckle at her compliment, "Oh well.. thank you. It is rather outlandish, isn't it?" Taking her little hand by the fingers and turning it, he gave a polite little peck on the back of her palm. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Abbey." A sincere smile on his face he slowly began to rise and assist Abbey to her feet as well.

(( No big deal, it just amused me. :3 ))
"I wouldn't say outlandish," she replied as she was hoisted to her feet by the other's helpful hand. "Just different."
A flush spread further across her cheeks at his chivalrous gesture of kissing the back of her hand. Were all the boys in this place as nice as this one? She could get used to the place if so.
"So," she began after clearing her throat, as she brushed the dirt from her clothes. "How long have you been living here?"

Playing with his lip ring he pondered her question. "Well.. I havn't been here too long. I just came this year. So... maybe just a few months. I arrived in the summer." he nodded trying his best to remember. "I still consider myself to be new here." His tail brushed along the ground lightly as his eyes wandered about the greenhouse. Everything seemed accounted for and tended to. There was really no reason to stay in here any longer, and he definently didn't want to keep her from anything else she had planned to do. "I'm done with my work here." he paused for a moment. "Would you like any flowers for your room?" he stepped back so she may see the diffrent aray of flowers that littered about the room. "I find that they brighten even the gloomiest of moods."

"Oh, that's not that long at all," she replied, nodding along with what he had said. "What are the people here like? I've seen a lot of children running around and playing games, but I haven't spotted too many adults." Her bottom lip was briefly bitten again at the thought. The couple of adults she had seen around, she had been too nervous to approach. Everyone here seemed so well adjusted and happy... Except for her.
As the fox offered her her choice of flowers, she turned slowly and let her gaze wander across the various colors, shapes, and sizes of flowers. He really did have an impressive garden here. Finally her eyes fell on a small liliac bush on the far side of the greenhouse. "Lilacs have always been my favorite."

He grinned, his eyes looking upward in thought. "Well.. as I've observed there are a lot of diffrent kinds of personality's here." he paused. "I've made aquaintances with a few interesting characters." He chuckled to himself. "I'm sure you'll find some that you click with. The adults are probably just busy with their younglings. Since, as you've stated earlier, there have been a lot around." a few memories started to surface, but he promptly pushed them back into place as his eyes averted from her.
Recovering, his turquoise glowers looked to hers and followed to where they had landed. Nodding, he stepped to the side to retrieve his shears once again. "Lilacs it is." He advanced towards them at a leisurely pace. "Do you prefer a specific color?"

Pondering this, the feline's tail swept across the floor of the greenhouse, scattering dirt. "Do the people here live to breed, or something?" She wrinkled up her nose at the thought. She would probably want to have children at some point in her life, but the idea of just pumping them out over and over didn't appeal to her in the least.
"Er... The lilac colored ones?" She stammered, confused. She honestly hadn't realized that lilacs came in different colors.

He couldn't help but give a small laugh at her question. "They live to love. As most do." a pause. "That's what most find when they come here. So they settle down and start a family." as he arrived at the lilacs he added. "I guess you could say that there's plenty of love around here." His eyes slid to hers for a moment, holding them there.
Directing his attention back to the flowers before him, he smiled.
"There's cream, lavender... and that's all I seem to have right now." carefully taking hold of a stock of them, he snipped at the base of the stems. "How about I just give you a mixture, hm? More variety."

"Hmm, love, eh?" Perhaps that was an idea that she could get on board with. Certainly more than the idea of breeding rampantly. The girl had been in such a hurry to grow up for most of her life, and now that she was finally reaching maturity, she wasn't sure if she was ready for all of that adult stuff. She was certainly willing to find out, though... "It's good that there's a lot of it to go around," she said finally, smiling at her companion.
"Variety is nice," she replied, her smile widening as she took the flowers he offered. "They're beautiful." Holding them close to her face, she inhaled their sweet scent and felt almost relaxed enough to end up back on the floor again.

"Love is a mysterious thing. Never know when it's gonna hitcha." Grins, rather proud of his statement. Looking to her, he nodded. "There's always an endless amount of it..." flicks his ear once.
As she collected the flowers from him, he reached under the aisle to obtain a vase. It was of medium size, clear and square. Tilting a small watering can into it, the glass filled with water. "Here's some water for the little beauties. It's not the best vase.. but I'm sure we could find a better one." He rubbed the back of his neck, slightly embarressed of the fact that this was all he could muster up.

"Oh, it's beautiful!" She exclaimed, despite his declaration otherwise. She had never been one for large, extravagant things, preferring to keep things simple and elegant, and that was how she would describe the vase. "You could put lilacs in a soda can though, and I'd find them beautiful," she added with a teasing grin.
"So how about you, then?" The feline inquired, looking up from the flowers she held in her hands. Her tail curled slightly around one leg, and her grin faded to a smile. "Have you found this love you speak of?"

Grinning with satisfaction, he scratches behind his ear and admits, "I do that, actually, a lot. Since it would be a shame to waste a can or bottle." This definently made him feel more at ease. He didn't want to seem like a poor excuse of a gardner being illed stocked with pathetic vases. Exhaling in relief, he watched as she showed great delight in them, giving a charming smile.
Suprised and flustered by her question, his eyes widened as he looked to her again. Trying to avoid her eyes, he laughed nervously rubbing the back of his head. "W-well... no. I havn't really met..any... females.." a faint blush started to warm under his eyes as he stammered.

With a sage nod, she agreed with the fox's assessment. "That seems very pragmatic of you. Most people don't care what they waste or throw out." Abbey honestly didn't care much one way or the other, but she could appreciate someone who did, and put that caring into practice.
She took note of his nervous posture and gestures, as well as his avoidance of her gaze, and instantly regretted her question. Though she wanted to be her blunt self and not try to pretend in order to make friends, she also didn't want to rock the boat too much, or upset her new companion. Feeling awkward, her face flushed as well. "Any at all?" was all she could think to reply.

Pushing his bangs back, he smiled bashfully at her. "Well.. no. I mean. I've met a few. But none that have really interested me." his wandering eyes slowly rested onto hers. He couldn't help but smile at her cute little blush. There were plenty of lovely ladies, but none of them ever seemed to find him interesting, or something. It'd been awhile since he'd "Worked his magic." Perhaps he was a bit rusty...? His tail wrapped around his leg as well, trying his best to not smile so childish like. Bright eyes sliding back to her, he asked, "What about you..?"
