By the time the two made it to Ophelia, she looked rather different. Her fur was muddy and half-soaked, her eyes displaying a bone-deep exhaustion. There was a down side to the special power that Guardian cats possessed to defeat a youma; it left her so tired that she was quite literally dragging her feet as she jumped from one garbage can lid to another, narrowly missing one shadowy hand as it grabbed for her. A flash of white light beamed from her forehead, taking a large chunk out of the shadowy mass.
Still, it did not go down.
“A little help!” She called out, leaping away from another attack, “Magellan! Use your Powder Puff! We need to get out of- oof!”
The cat's body hit the wall with a dull thud, her moment of distraction costing her dearly.
“Magellan! Now!” Ophelia yelled, slowly picking herself up. They needed to get out of there quickly, before her own energy was completely drained or what was left of the monster managed to hurt one of the girls.

Guilt was a sharp pain in her stomach, a dreaded feeling as she rounded the corner, boots thumping against the icy pavement. The cat and Sirona were in danger for trying to save her, and though she was grateful, she now also felt like she had to defeat the youma, if only to save them. It was stronger than most that she'd faced, however, and she didn't know if she'd be able to.
Correction, she wouldn't -- not when the cat had been shooting laserbeams at the thing and it still wasn't down. She watched the youma fling the feline into a wall, and her stomach clenched, pulse thudded.
Without waiting, even as the cat was yelling for her to attack, Magellan was readying the puffs in her hair, slapping them together as hard as she could while she shouted her attack. Powder filled the vicinity, thick and rolling over all of them, blinding and choking at the same time. Knowing that no one would be able to navigate save for her, at least not until it thinned, Magellan darted in, scooping the cat up as quickly as she could.
She was rough, which she might have felt bad for if she'd had any time to try to be gentle, but she managed to tuck the cat against her belly as the youma swiped at her again. Its knuckles caught her shoulder, sending her off-balance, and she careened into the wall.
Shoulders slamming into it, she wheezed, taking off again in the direction of Sirona. She held the cat with one arm, trying not to squeeze too tightly but not wanting to drop her, and gripped Sirona with the other, all but dragging her away from the powder.
Maybe they couldn't defeat the thing just then, but it was more important to make sure they lived long enough to finish it off. If they could.
Briefly, she wondered if Sirona would be able to heal the cat, dismissed the thought almost as soon as it occurred to her. Magellan had just been healed by Sirona, she probably needed to rest -- and who knew if her abilities even worked on cats.
No, the most important thing was to just get away, even if it chafed at her pride.
