Lich Arthas Menethil
Vice Captain

PostPosted: Wed Dec 16, 2009 8:51 pm

Lich Arthas Menethil casually stared at the opening gates across the vast plain in front of him. Apparently, although this area had never existed until a few moments ago, a giant ice lake was centered in front of the Castle's Gates. Stepping out onto the ice, a clearly idiotic thing to enact in, this small, black figure in the distance emitted what was only heard, a few seconds later, as a high pitched squeal to Arthas.

Not caring about this futile creature's existence, Arthas decided that it was best to go investigate this area, to see if a battle could ensue. Most of Arthas's recent battles were, however, more like a slaughter, or a massacre.

Nex stopped in front of the overly larged creature"hmm undead?" He asked, more a rhetorical question than anything. he didn't really look like a talker, more like a creature than sought more pain than he would ensue. Nex grip loosened slightly on his blade. "I'm guessing your not with the Ralii, and you are not here to surrender your pathetic attempts to overthrow the Takii" Nex sized up the creature,it was defiantly not from this realm. "In any case, state your business here"

Arthas twirled his sword around in a long annular path, gracefully achieving artful arcs with his gigantic sword. Truly though, in comparison with himself, it was a rather small sword for his size and strength. A cool debate whirled inside his head from the two main creatures which controlled it, and a few thousand others he had captured for reference. His alignment in this world was to none other than the world itself, and even he himself embraced the day that he was to be beaten in combat; even if it was by himself.

Casually noticing that the length of his sword was actually taller than Nex was himself, Arthas realized that he was much stronger than Nex, but not completely out of use. After all, any minion Arthas had ever taken on was weaker than him, and anyone he had ever made an alliance with he had a strategy beat, regardless of their physical or mental strength. No, irrelevant to stature and physical strength was the inner fire, the gut feeling inside the body, and willpower to pursue. After all height was decided before birth, and only in Arthas's specific case was height granted as a side-effect. No, Arthas felt there was a use for this creature, even if he was determined to continue destroying everything, even himself, until the end of his existence.

Attaining true power is what Arthas was seeking; not for the power, but for the hunt. This creature could be of use to him, perhaps even, if trained, presented in a form were he could beat Arthas himself. If only if only.

"Death and Destruction. That is why I am here. I have however, aligned with the Takki as you might have presumed; for now. Being the two major powers in this area, I decided we better get acquainted, perhaps for the better, or the worse." Arthas said, with an awful resonating cry, a kind of deep shrill only uttered by the final steps of a dieing animal, or from a demonic creature not worthy of the title "life".

"Do not mistake myself as a common king...creature" Nex said sourly. Nex eyed the creature with a certain magnification. he was much larger than previously perceived. a ice crystal formed inside Nex's free hand as he held it out to the creature. "You control this attribute also as I can tell" Nex gesturing to the mass he left behind him. "You are Takii? You do not show signs...and you do not claim me as your king." Nex grinned behind his helmet, the ice crystal shattering into oblivion as he crushed it in his fist "If you are Takii, as you say...bow before your king" Nex knew that this creature would likely not obey him. This beast gave out a cry in it's voice that made him fill with hatred, the voice of pure superiority

Lich Arthas Menethil let out a deep bellow, the consequences of this reverberating throughout the small one mile radius he was in. If this event could be described as anything, it would have been uttered as the worst rendition of a laugh anybody had ever heard."I do not wish to be of the Takki, I wish to side with the Takki. My alignment is only with that of Death and Destruction, yet uses for others along my way, any way it presents itself, is a tactical force I like to exploit. As you may have noticed by my hundred wandering ghouls, I like to keep creatures by my side. I digress however; You do not wish me to mistake you as a common king, yet you wish for me to acknowledge you as a king? What a hypocritical statement. If you were a truly a king that required or demanded any form of obedience you would have not approached me alone, and you would not have made as many mistakes as you have. No, if your want me to acknowledge you as a king but not as a king I shall do both; I shall acknowledge you as nothing. If you wish to however grow power, than I suggest you take the momentary lapse of destruction in your favor; my hesitation may be useful to you." Arthas grew slightly impatient with the incapable common, uncommon king presented before him. If he truly understood power, he would realize that the combination of efforts is what makes something powerful; hard for imitator's to recognize, Arthas appeared as a singular being with many powers, but in reality was multiple creatures within the same form, with many powers.

"Obviously you mistake me for a common king then, if you think I fear you creature. A king of weakness might not approach you. But you must have me mistaken with someone who has not endured the physical harshness of year and years of darkness and pain." After glancing over the creature and hearing it talk of its "minions" he understand what this creature was. "You are a Lich" Nex scowled

"A creature of blight that uses its magics to raise the dead and cause havoc. I have killed many a Lich, what makes you special? the fact that you wield a blade instead of a staff? or is it that you claim the ability to speak instead of coarse rasps or horrifying cries of a life of humanity lost to a more powerful being that stripped away your soul?" Nex lifted his blade from the ground. As the Lich implied, it was larger than him, a good two feet. But Nex lifted it with quite ease as he pointed it towards the Creatures face "I do not wish to grow in your kind of power, you demon of reckless thought. You have no mind, and though you have such intellegence, you lack the will to follow anything but the path that has been laid in front of you since your turning" Nex took a step back "Demon this is your once chance to retreat to whichever realm you came from, because I will destroy you demon, however arrogant you are"

Arthas realized that he could hope for no sire in this 'common but uncommon king'. "Arrogance? I talk of forming alliances, I talk of creating bonds, I talk of using other people in regard to the fact that I do not possess all the power in the world; regardless of whether or not I am the most powerful individual in the world. I speak of how, despite how it appears, that I am not the single most powerful individual, but rather the collective minds of several imbued into the collective thoughts and power of an opposed powerful shell. I talk of how physical strength is not as important as the inner fire, how I wish to be slain one day, and how I use others when permitted to strengthen myself. Yet becuase I admit all of this and humbly request the alliance of another, who cannot admit an alliance without first believing he has achieved some form of servitude, you think I am arrogant. Take a good look at your stances, as your phrases, and you will realize that all you have condemned of you have actually engaged in doing yourself. So you refuse an alliance? Very well then. Prepare for battle." Arthas smirke
PostPosted: Thu Dec 17, 2009 2:01 pm

"Your alliance? alliance? an alliance with you is just as much as an alliance as any that take the soul from another. Servitude is better than mindlessness. A soldier than hold his mind and his skills is much more useful than a creature that cannot follow anything but the orders of it's master. If you wish to be slain, I can give you such a request, but if a slaying requires you to humbly empty yourself and contrast an alliance to do it, you try to hard" Nex's rolled his blade in his hand as he took afew steps back and took a stance. "If you wanted to die, you should of just said so. leave your 'bonds' for your legions of undead minions."Nex said calmly as ice began to form in crystallized spears as they circled around Nex "Prove me your difference Lich. Show me your inner fire!"

"Show, prove, impress? Explicate perhaps. Unlike you, I am not a slave to the silly insecurities you possess, and assume others do. There is nothing to prove; there are only actions. Words are merely insignificant emotion less strings of characters intended upon creating an efficient form of communication. People often times try to tag connotations or hidden meanings behind words when in reality words and language are used to record, explain, and ascertain the vicissitudes which occur in every day life. You think words are of any importance? Your pathetic. You don't even know what you are. A mere word, 'servitude', makes you think you gather strength? I could say I serve you a thousand times, or a million, or until the end of time, and yet you wouldn't grow any stronger. You talk of power as if you know what it is. Yet you know nothing. You know nothing of power, and you know nothing of death. Your pathetic." Lich Arthas Menethil laughed, if what despicable sound that was uttered could be considered a laugh. He then planted his sword firmly in the ground, the tip of the sword barely sustained by the dirt, and left casually balanced by Arthas's arms. Beginning his chanting, a number of fallen creatures beneath the surface began to rise, some brandishing weapons, some simply rotting corpses held together now by the ensuing darkness.
PostPosted: Thu Dec 17, 2009 2:42 pm

"And you know what power is? I worked for mine, I gained mine. I EARNED mine. What are you? You are many men in one. I'm pathetic? You are using those exact words that mean nothing as you say to show how much worth I am. You contradict yourself. It takes much for you to accomplish what It took me twelve years. How can you say you know power, when the only power you control belongs to others? you fight with these..."

Nex said motioning to his creatures "these monstrosities that have no will of their own. If you know power what would these creatures be needed for? By servitude, I make others stronger, not just myself. One of my men could accomplish what five million of these creatures could not. True I do not know death, for I am skilled enough not to have tasted blade in my flesh, magic in my charred bones. As you will find. My strength in not a inner fire, or a physical necessity, but my power comes from those who serve me, and that is what it means to be a king!" Anima Adviticus The words echoed in Nex's mind. Holding his blade into the air, the once iced lake became a giant ice dragon, that ripped from the lake and landed beside Nex. "Lich. You want actions? Let us battle."

"Hahahahahahahahahahaha. You think anything serves you? You think your power comes from servants? You are nothing then. If you only have power from a 'servant', then you truly possess no power. Your 'servants' can get work done, yet you can not. Leaders are meant to be servers; yet they are not servants. If you truly rely on others for all of your well being, then you have no power, no strength. No-one is a servant. We are all what we make of ourselves. We are indeed, all equal, even if our abilities are not. You obviously place yourself as not being equal, however. If you simply require others, then you are weak. The queen of a beehive is not the controller of the bee's; the queen is the true slave, the bee's can get rid of her any time they like. It is leaders that truly serve, we are destined to guide those around us, provide motivation, and work towards a goal. If you do not do that, and obviously cannot comprehend it, then you are no king, and you have no power. I will not grace you as stating you are nothing. You are less than worthless. I can do nothing more but slaughter you to teach your followers what a true leader is like. It is an act of mercy on your part, but far much more to gain within my army. If you gain power by your "servants" then obviously your aren't going to be much of a fight. Battle? I doubt you even know what that words means; you've obviously misinterpreted what it's like to be a true King." After completing his ritual, a thousand more ghouls sprang from the ground, not gifted life, but gifted animation. The raw, rotting structures reformed into movement once again, granted undeath. The Lich King did not carry mere servants; several of his own soldiers had fought and died for their power, brilliantly gifted with the plight of undeath. Surrounded by these creatures, five battleworn Deathknights stood by his side, ready to slaughter again. They carried several distinct names, worthy of new names from their actions. These were Darion Mograine, Baron Rivendare, Thassarian, Koltira Deathweaver and Maleki the Pallid.

compared to these armored men, Prism felt puny. But that wasn't what she was worried about. "dammit. They are about to fight... and I know damn well i cannot battle a Lich." Prism thought bitterly. then she thought again. "hmmm these two are deep in conversation, and that other man didn't even acknowledge me... and i am small enough..." Prism got down down on all fours and crawled past the two talking, hoping they didn't notice her, Prism ran into the forest so she can continue with what she was planning to do before. Train. Train so she she can stand next to Master Nex with pride of being known as His best soldier.

"You enjoy listening to the sound of your own voice? Throwing your nonsensical philosophies where ever you go? You misinterpret my words, and you claim me to be ignorant and beneath you. And because of what? you have lived and died many times and know more than I ever will? That may be, I may never learn the ways you have, but why do I need to, for fifteen years I have ruled, and hard iron and death and destruction I have left in my wake. Am I supposed to answer to your petty attempts to insult my intelligence and war mongering? Take your narcissism else where undead creature" Nex took off his helm and dismissed his dragon

"You do not deserve my time, If your believe me so under-mind in your presence. You are a waste of my soon to be world's space, and I suggest you leave my castle. I had considered fighting you before, but even if I defeated in, and which all possibility I could, I'm sure you would just return with many more of other people strengths and challenge me again. Quit wasting my time in telling me how worthless I am. Without me an empire would fall, men would be lost. What would the world say about your disappearance Lich? Nothing for you are the worthless one and I have no more need to debate with you on this subject. If you wish to fight me, fight me. Don't send your little creatures to do it for you, undead scum" Nex let out a long winded breath and stabbed his blade into the ground "Ally myself with you...that was a foolish thing for you to venture." Rubbing his eyes with a sigh, Nex realized the Lich would continue his rant until he talked him to death or one of them killed the other, or they came to a compromise "Enough banter. either fight me and stop talking, or Talk without talking down to me. Even If there is no respect for a Lich to give, you will speak to me with such"

deep in the forest, Prism began training. "hmph, its no fun training alone. but what choice do I have?" she said to herself as she changed her eye color to red and began breaking a 5 foot thick, 22 foot tall tree into tiny, insignificant pieces. I have to train harder, harder until I become the strongest! I want to be Acknowledged for once! she kept thinking to herself. This was her pep talk. She didn't want to be useless dead-weight in an all-powerful alliance such as takii, so she trained for 6 years, hoping to be noticed for her hard work.
